Creative Suite Licensing: Downgrade Photoshop Version

We currently have a number of users that are licensed for and running Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard on the Mac. As you know, one of the applications that is included as part of that suite is Photoshop CS6. I am told by our designers that there are certain changes specific to Photoshop with version CS6 that simply do not work for them and they need to run Photoshop CS5. My question is does Adobe allow the downgrading of only that one application, Photoshop to version CS5 if the rest of the suite is at CS6? I am assuming we would not need to purchase an additional Photoshop license under that scenario, but I know Adobe can be funny with their licensing rules.

Yes, that's true and it's also only possible for Volume licensing customers of the older traditional products... not for individual purchasers.
Fortunately now with Creative Cloud, Adobe is maintaining an archive of previous versions available for download and use... The collection right now includes both CS6 and the 2013 CC releases.
These older versions are available to all members at any time, including CC for Individuals and Creative Cloud for Teams.
PS - Have no idea why your designer would prefer PS CS5 over CS6 though! CS6 (and CC) are much nicer to use IMO.

Moving creative suite license btwn machines (version 3.3)

Hi There,
We just bought a new mac computer and are trying to move our creative suite (version 3.3) license to the new machine. We do have the serial number and the software is currently loaded on an older mac.
We have uninstalled the software on our old computer but unfortunatley, it will not launch on the new machine.
Adobe does not have customer support for version 3.3.
Can anyone help us?

Creative Suite license transfer

Another Creative Suite license transfer question I'm afraid:
I no longer have use for my Creative Suite 5 package and am looking to sell it and legitimately transfer the license. However, it is an upgrade of an upgrade of a full product, the path being CS1 Full > CS3 Upgrade > CS5 Upgrade. I still have all the boxes, discs etc for the CS1, CS3 and CS5 packages and intend to sell them as a whole. (I understand it is not legal to split them and I have no intention of doing so.)
My question is is this allowed? I.e. can I sell my CS5 Upgrade as long as it is accompanied by the previous upgrade and full product?

Yes, you can perfectly sell your upgrade version as long as you include all previous versions.

I've just installed CS6 creative suite mainly for photoshop CS6. It comes with camera raw 7.0.something, but need something newer to use my canon 6d. When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt

Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

How many installs do I get with a Creative Suite License and if more than one can I put a copy on MAC and Windows?

Hi Isendusersup,
You can install software on up to two computers. These two computers can be Windows, Mac OS, depends on the Platform for which you bought the product (Creative Suites License ). For Creative Cloud subscription, it can be any two platforms.
If you install on a third computer, it will request you to de-activate on the other two computers. You can then reactivate one of the previous two computers, and use Creative Suite license or Creative Cloud apps on it.
For Creative Suite - To deactivate from preinstalled machine, Open any Adobe CS application > Help Menu > Deactivate.
For Creative Cloud - To deactivate from preinstalled machine, Open any Adobe CC application > Help Menu > Sign out.

I'm about to upgrade my macbook and I'm at my limit for how many computers I can use my creative suite license for. Is there a standard way to delete the creative suite off of one computer so that I can use it/upload it on another device?

You can do everything in Photoshop that you can do in Photoshop Elements, but it may be a different method.

Can I sell my Creative Suite license after upgrading to Creative Cloud?

I own a license to the "CS5 - Design Premium" and decided to start using the Creative Cloud instead of upgrading my software. Because I already owned the suite, I was given a discount for the first year of Creative Cloud use ($29/mth).
I'm wondering if I'm allowed to sell my license of CS5 after accepting this upgrade price?
I contacted support a week ago but have not yet heard a response.

Just found the terms of the promotion. It doesn't mention anything about not selling... or it being an upgrade. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Can I upgrade from Creative Suite 3 to Photoshop CS6?

Hello,
I have a licence of the full Creative Suite 3 on my PC. Am I able to upgrade the Photoshop part of this suite to Photoshop CS6 only? I don't need the complete package in CS6, so this would be the best way for me.
And my second question: Can I import and edit pictures which were made or edited in CS6 in the other programs in the CS3 suite and vice versa?

Upgraded to Creative suite 5 from photoshop CS5

Hi, I bought Photoshop CS5 standalone a while ago but have now bought creative suite CS5 production which comes with photoshop extended version. During the install it said it wouldn't reinstall photoshop, but is there much of a difference between standard and extended versions? Will it just install the extra bits which as far as I know have something to do with video work?
Basically should I have reinstalled photoshop to get the extended version?

CS5.5 is no longer available. You may have some luck in finding leftover
stock but this is a dangerous game unless that the seller is an
authorized reseller of Adobe software.

Creative suite licensing

i am wondering if i purchase the full creative suite. Can i install some of the programs on one computer (all design like indesign, photoshop etc) and others (video production like premier pro and after effects) on another computer. can i do that or will there be a problem with licensing and serial numbers???

You have 2 activations for the entire suite. That's all you need to know. Which combination of programs you install doesn't matter, but you will never be able to use them on more than 2 machines.

Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6 - PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator immediately shuts down after startup

I'm troubleshooting for a customer who have Adobe Creative Suite Design CS6.
His programs suddenly wont start, they launches and starts to read plug-ins and open up a workspace, but then without warning/error it shuts down. no log, error message or anything...
It's the same for PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator both in 32 bit and 64.
He is running the suit on a Hp EliteBook 8560p with Windows 7 Pro x64 sp1.
He also have had a Wacom Bamboo CTE 650 penpad installed before.
This is what I've done so far:
* Uninstall the whole suit and reinstalled it again (Done this 3-4 times, manually deleted regestry-files, used CClean and other cleaning tools)
* Deleted the wacom-drivers with controlpanel tool, Windows driver Clean tool, CClean and manually deleted registry-keys and files.
* Uninstall Anti-Virus software and replaced it with another, inactivated AV and Windows Firewall.
* Deleted register-files for the suits and "reregister" them again.
* Full patch both for windows and adobe softwares.
* Reboot between each step
Any suggestions?
I have to add that adobe support for this $2000 software really sucks...

Problem solved!
I went through all the folders associated with adobe cs6 and renamed them (one by one) so they would be recreated.
I did this before but seems like I missed this specific one.
Anyway, when I renamed the folder "SLCache" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ and then ran the applications one by one as administrator I was prompted to enter a serial-key again and log in to my Adobe-ID.

Why can't I upgrade my student version of creative suite to a professional version?

I purchased the student version of creative suite 6 in January to learn the software for a class that my job was paying me to take. We decided that the software was worth investing in so my company wants to upgrade my student version to a professional version. ( It turns out I am not allowed to use student version software for professional purposes - I don't know if that is a law or just a rule). So I call up customer support to pay for the upgrade and cancel the student version. I am told this isn't possible and that they have to create a whole new account and charge me a cancellation fee for my old account. Then they send me to a sales rep who was a total jerk and told me he couldn't help me and spent 20 minutes seriously making fun of me. What kind of sales rep makes fun of people? Then he sent me back to customer support who of course couldn't help either and they had to then sent me to a cancellation guy. By this time, I had been on the phone for an hour. So this guy tells me my current contract requires me to pay $79 a month and to cancel it will cost my $280? WTH? My student version costs only $30 a month. I have invoices to prove it. So then he charges me $112 to cancel but he can't set up a new account. Of course, that has to be done by somebody else. But after this horrible experience, why should I sign up AGAIN? And why did I have to pay $112 to cancel when what I really wanted was an upgrade?

Fasiababy1 I am sorry that you have had a difficult experience. As Ned mentioned if you have an annual contract then your best option is to continue utilizing the student version of the software. Old Creative Suite license issue

We have an old physical copy of Creative Suite 1.0 with disks and license sticker on the box. The license is currently in use on an old XP machine that we need to upgrade to Window 7. There is no deactivate option, and the product will not activate once installed on Win7.
We talked to one Adobe representative who said the CS1 & 2 activation servers were taken down. He referred me to a web link with downloadable CS2 media with a license key (yes CS2 not the CS1 that we have).
After downloading and installing this with the license key provided, it says there is a problem with the license. I talked to another rep who said they only handle customer service and that I need to post on the forums for technical support.
So can someone help us out here? We just want to get our old product re-activated.

Yea, I noticed this the first time I did the setup because it asked me to enter the next disc. I will go ahead and try this again, but the fact that it didn't ask me about the other disc and said it installed successfully makes me think I did the install fine and the license just isn't working.
EDIT: I noticed this after reading over the instructions page again: "You can use the serial numbers provided as a part of the download only if you legitimately purchased CS2, CS2 applications, Acrobat 7, or Audition 3".
Does this have anything to do with the sign in ID used to access the downloads page? As I mentioned before, we have the CS1 Suite, but the Adobe rep took us to the CS2 download page; I'm guessing because the CS1 is older and harder to deal with activation. I asked the second Adobe rep about this when the install didn't work, and he asked which ID we used to purhase CS1. I explained to him it wasn't an email address since this was back when there were user IDs that were not email addresses. This is when he referred me to the forums.
