Once I upgrade my Creative Suite to CC, do I need to uninstall all the CS6 programs from my system or leave them?

Your existing Creative Suite installation will not be affected by installing the new CC applications. For example, you can install and use both Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC on the same computer.

I have Adobe Creative Suite 1 Standard on my Powerbook G4 10.39. I have bought a Macbook Air and I use OS 10.56 on it. I found this page on Apple where I can buy an upgrade for Creative Suite 4. However, I don't know whether I can do that on my computers.

The system requirements say the OS has to be 10.4 - 10.54. Does this mean I can't upgrade CS either on my Powerbook or on the Macbook Air?
I really want the CS4 on the Macbook Air. That is more important than doing the upgrade on the Powerbook as I do not use the Powerbook much anymore.
If it is possible to put the upgrade on Macbook Air, how do I do that? Do I put the Creative Suite 1 on the MBA first, and then download the upgrade?

Adobe Creative Suite upgrade for 3.3

I cannot figure out how to upgrade the Creative Suite. I have CS3 & an upgrade 3.3 for the whole package, but all I have on the DVD is ADOBE ACROBAT 9 PRO

As Bob says. Do not delete/uninstall your original CS3 installation -- although you don't need Acrobat 8 installed anymore after you install 9.
For software as for any other significant purchase, always carefully research, read and understand before you buy.

Creative Suite 3 Questions

I have currently purchased Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard and I am having problems understanding the PROPER way to design a website. For example: Can I design the website in Illustrator? Then where do I take the page in order to create buttons and links? Is it better to design the site in Fireworks? I have watched the video workshop that comes with the package but I still don't understand. I am not completely new to web design. I designed a website with Flash 2004 and Golive CS, but this new Suite has thrown me for a loop. I have many other questions and I know I probably sound stupid but I don't know where to go from here. Please help!

No. you cannot upgrade programs contained in a suite to standalone products.

I found a site, that sells products to students at discount prices. (if your eligible)
I found Adobe Creative Suite 4 but it says STUDENT EDITION.
Is there any difference between the STUDENT EDITION and just Adobe Creative Suite 4??

I currently have CS 5.5 Maser Suite Collection, I will be upgrading my computer from PC to Mac laptop and Mac desktop... What would be my best option regarding Creative Suite upgrading?

I currently run CS 5.5 Master Suite Collection.
I plan to upgrade my computing platform from being a PC laptop, to a combination of a Mac laptop and a Mac desktop.
Can you please advise on the best fit in terms of upgrade for my Adobe Suite? Do I need two purchases, one for laptop, one for desktop? Or will one purchase cover both?
Can I be logged into both laptop and desktop att the same time? For example using one to work on Photoshop while the other renders video and animation in AfterEffects and Premiere?
would I need to install each component on each platform, or can I have a common set up easily rolled out?

Normally one purchase is good for two machines, but that is under the condition that only one machine is using the purchased software (the suite in this case) at any given time. If you intend to be using the suite on two machines simultaneously then you will need two licenses (or subscriptions, depending how you upgrade).

Cannot install cs 5.5 design premium creative suite upgrade

It took many many hours and attempts to download the software-I was very unhappy about that and not it will not install. I have the student/teacher version. I restarted and still get this error message and I canont install the upgrade. If this cannot be upgraded from cs 5.0 to cs 5.5, , I would like a refund please.
There currently are no phone oeprators available for service, but there was always one for sales. This is very upsetting.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to CS5 running on an iMAC with only 2GB's of RAM? If so, how is it working for you? Fast, slow??

I'm running on an iMAC 2ghz intel core duo. My applications I'm using are Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. I would upgrade my RAM to 4GB but my iMAC only accepts up to 2GB. Don't know why apple made it that way.

Creative Suite General Question

I am a newbie with a question for you guys. Which of the Adobe stand alone products would I need to create Dreamweaver-like CD/DVDs without a browse?. I need hyperlliks and layout tools. Don't need to create graphics or flash-type animations.

As far as I know this is not something you can accomplish on the Mac at the OS level, but Soxy, from Rorohiko.com, can open existing ID files in the correct version when when you double-click them in the finder. If you don't launch 5.5 to start a file, that should probably be sufficient for ID if you also use Edit With instead of Edit Original to handle editing links. I have no idea if there is anything similar for Photoshop or Illustrator, but you can get out of the habit of double-clicking and either open the app first and use the dialog, or drop the file on the icon for the version you want to use.

Unfortunately that option is not possible.
You cannot upgrade a Creative Suite to a standalone product.
Creative Suites can only be upgrades to other Creative Suites.
You'll need to return Photoshop CS6 upgrade since you cannot use it.
Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
Some options:
Buy a Creative Suite upgrade, or
Buy a full new copy of Photoshop CS6, or
Join the Cloud

Can't install Illustrator from Creative Suite (serial number not recognized)

Years ago, I bought the first Creative Suite (upgrade). Illustrator was working fine on my old computer. Since then, I've upgraded Photoshop and Dreamweaver individually (I didn't upgrade Creative Suite).
Now I need to install Illustrator on my new computer, but the installation fails:
(1) I tried to install Illustrator separately (from the Illustrator setup.exe file on the disks) and I input the only serial number I have (which is for Creative Suite) and get a "this isn't an Illustrator serial number".
(2) I tried to install Creative Suite but it prompts me for the location of Photoshop ... an OLDER version of Photoshop. I've got Photoshop CS5, but the installation correctly says that isn't an earlier version.
I believe I purchased my first Photoshop in 1997-ish. Do I really have to start from the beginning and install EVERY VERSION of Photoshop that I ever bought/upgraded in order to install Illustrator from the CS upgrade disk?
I tried looking for an Adobe phone number, but no joy.

I have Photoshop LE, Photoshop 4.1 (I think it was -- the first version with layers), Photoshop 5.5, Photoshop 6, Creative Suite, Photoshop CS2, and Photoshop CS5.
After I purchased Creative Suite, I just wanted to upgrade the individual programs rather than the whole Creative Suite. However, I believe I purchased upgrades all along the way.
For Dreamweaver (though not the issue here), I started with the Macromedia programs, so the upgrade line started 'way back at Macromedia (and the installation of Adobe DW upgrades requires live tech support; unfortunately, as I can no longer find a phone number for Adobe, I guess I'd better hope nothing ever happens).
Anyway, does that help? You can see why I don't want to reinstall all those versions just to install Illustrator.

Which is it?
Does the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool apply to Adobe Creative Cloud or to the shipped version or to all listed in the first paragraph?
This is another example of why SO MANY OF US are so frustrated by your support.
Please answer the question without a link to another article with contraditions or, for that matter, any article.
It's a simple question.
I am spending MANY hours trying to correct YOUR error, which leads to Creative Cloud install failures. And, yes, I have gone to the forums, to the community, and have replied, and continue to read support's circuituous excuses and misdirected answers.
