Creative Suite version 1, Vista 64 bit?  Is this possible?

Can the first version of Creative Suite be installed on vista 64 bit?  If so, how?
Thanks.

You can try, but I wouldn't count on flawless performance. The earliest version of Creative Suite that is Vista (32 or 64 bit) compatible is CS3.
In other words....you're on your own. CS is also the earliest version eligible for upgrade pricing and right now you can save $200.

CS2 is completely unsupported under Vista and 64 bits adds more problems.
Best advice is to upgrade. CS5 will be shipping soon.

  • Is Creative Alchemy Supported on Vista 64 bit? Attention Creative Mod p

    Ok I'm confused.
I've had a creative X-Fi Fatalty card for a couple of years that came with a Mesh pc I bought.
So I buy all the kit for a new pc and think I can just move the card across. I install Vista 64, install service pack and all is peachy apart form my Razer mouse that needs a new driver.
I install a load of old games and they work fine. Some fine tuning for allowing games to run as admin, but considering my new pc is so much faster, and the greater security (i've been told, and call me sad?but i believe it) I'm thinking its worth it.
Wow I think, this vista malaky's great!
Pop in my creative?soundcard?download the drivers and think here we go.
So I install Half life 2. A fairly old game. And it all starts going wrong. I load up the first level and I suddenly only have 2.0 sound.
open up the console and notice all kinda errors (on screen node graph out of date, A. I.disabled, and a load more in the console when i look).
Are they caused by Vista or Creative? I dunno, i didn't load half life prior to installing the card so it could be either to be fair.
So I read up more to try to work it out and I come across a funny thing. If in Creatives download manger pages you tell it you have a creative Fatalty soundcard, and you have a vista 64bit operating system then there are no downloads.
But if you put in Vista 32 bit then you get offered the Alchamey drivers. Which state that they are for 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista.
Now i've been looking at these forums for the last 2 days and I'm begining to feel a little worried. I'm not a sound Guru and I don't understand alot of whats been discussed. I don't feel i'm in a place to pass judgemnt on Creative cos the only contact I've had with their support staff was with a Zen Micro that was out of warrenty and they fixed that for free. Didn't even charge me P&P to send it back!
So I'm really not sure where I stand. I'm about to download the alchemy software that may/may not work with vista 64 by admission of their own website, and can't help but feel that support isn't quite what I was hoping for, and used to. Is the MP3 part of Creative effectivly a seperate company or something?
Now I don't want to start yet another bash creative post.
What I'd really like is a comment from Creative as to why their driver page does/doesn't offer you the right downloads and a solution to my problem.
Call me selfish but I kinda dcame to the Creative Help forums for some, well, Help.
I'd really appreciate if all the pro and anti forum trolls could stay off this topic and give creative a chance to show they can do good support.

JohnZS, thanx very much for the prompt response. I really do appreciate it.
But let me get this straight.
I've had to download a software package from a page I shouldn't have been at.
I have to add values to a software package that I have to rely on good natured people on a forum to supply.
And no offence, but even then I don't have the whole answer. I have to search manually for the registry or game path for the ?.exe? I assume (I'm doing this whilst tring to solve my prob, so I could well be wrong about this) tomake the **bleep** think work.
And this thing is Vista stickered?
Ok still going with the no bandwagon jumping plse people, I'm just an honest guy with no agenda apart from blowing **bleep** up on my poota as a stress release, so I'd like to see from Creative where I'm going wrong here.
Oh I seriously forgot the no swearing policy, and on forums like this I do agree with it, its just its late, i'm a bit annoyed, and to be frank, slightly drunk.

  • Creative Suite performance in Vista vs XP according to Adobe

Hi. I have been an Adobe user for some years now (Premiere Pro, After Effects etc.) and was looking for information on the site for the Creative Suite 3.3 and was amazed to read the following in the features section:
Support for the latest Mac and Windows systems
Experience the ultimate in performance by running Master Collection natively on Intel® based Macs and computers running Microsoft® Windows Vista®. Work smoothly on legacy PowerPC® based Macs and Windows® XP systems, as well.
I do not doubt that we can experience better performance running in Intel Macs vs legacy PowerPC Macs, since every new Mac OS has proven to be better than the previous, but according to this, we can experience Ultimate Performance in Vista and just smoothly performance in XP, stating that will run better in Vista than in XP???????
Anyone has experience if this statement is true? I am very interested in the product but would like to know where will it run better, if in XP or in Vista. Thanks in advanced.

No, you are obviously going to have more paging operations if you have less physical memory. Vista 32-bit is limited to a little more than 3 gigabytes of physical memory (the remainder of the 4 gigabyte physical memory space is reserved for video memory, BIOS, and memory-mapped I/O). Vista 64-bit will obviously allow more physical memory and hence less paging operations assuming the same application(s) are being run simultaneously. However, 32 bit applications running in Vista 64-bit cannot access more than the 3 gigabytes of memory in its 32-bit address space.
You mentioned "RAM errors" - that's definitely hardware-related. Likewise, a full system freeze could be hardware-related or possibly driver-related. Long periods of "not responding" followed by a process crashing can be due to an application program error, a problem with a driver, a firewall issue, a virus program problem, or more remotely, a hardware issue. We obviously cannot diagnose the problem remotely without much more information.
What I can tell you is that there is no known general problem of CS3 applications repeatedly "not responding" and then crashing under Vista 32-bit (or Vista 64-bit). Some combination of hardware problems, drivers, and/or other system configuration issues are likely to be the source of your problems.

  • Creative zen touch & windows vista 32 bit

Can anyone tell me which Firmware or software I need to install so that I can get my mp3 player working again. Have Windows Vista 32 bit, and Creative Zen Touch with about 5 gigs worth of music on, which is now stuck on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a zen neeon. Tried running the program, all the set up prompts seem to work, but the program is nowhere to be found after "installation".
I don't want to have to buy another player, seeing this one has 200 songs in it. (which is nothing compared to your 5 gigs!Would be a real pain in the ar$e.

  • I just purchase T400 how do I have Lenovo install the Home version of Vista 64-bit on my system.

The T400 I ordered comes with P8400 a 64-bit processor and 4 gigs of ram and I would like my system to take advantage of these two items by going with a 64-bit OS.
I called and they transfered me to Sales department so they could help.  The sales rep told me that the Home Premium 64-bit version of Vista didn't exist.   I know you can order the Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 - 40512YU with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium 64 as the default standard.
Does anybody know how to have Lenovo install Home Premium 64-bit or send me the disc with it?
    Thank you for any help.

  • Activating old Creative Suite version

I'm trying to reinstall Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio Premium on the original xp system it had been on until replacing the hard drive. Installation went fine. Activation is not. Online activation didn't work. Phone activation is discontinued. Online chat with adobe tech could only send me here. My serial # is [removed]. My email is [removed]. I still have the original box and documentation, and may even be able to find the original receipt if helpful.

My best guess is 1.1 because there is no number on the box or the cd. BTW -
the adobe tech told me to post the serial number - when I asked if that was
wise, she repeated it, along with my email address. (?!?)

  • Cannot Install CS5 trial version on Vista 64 bit...been weeks..please help..!

I've been trying to install the CS5 for a couple of week now but cannot get it to install. I've tried lots of things I've seen in the forums but I still cannot get it to install. I'd appreciate it if someone could offer some help and direction to step me through the possible issues. I've tried uninstalling, using the cs5 cleanup utility, changing permissions on the entire Adobe folder, completely uninstalling any Adobe product, deleting all reference folders, running as administrator, etc etc but nothing works. I've turned off firewall and antivirus, closed all applications including start-up items, and still nothing.
I'll start again and list my issues and perhaps someone can help..

    Can anyone help please..?

Try this microsoft solution, it worked for me on Vista with SP2, 32 bit. Even though you have a 64bit system, I think this solution might well work.  I spent 9 days with Adobe trying to install $1,700 software, and still they haven't given me a solution.  Opened Microsoft tech support case today, and everything is now installed, CS5 and Acrobat 9 professional.  Installed Acrobat 9 the same was as CS5, and installed it using the new Admintrator account.
Here is a summary from Microsoft of what the did to fix the issue:  Good luck!
Subject: SRX1134614654ID - Unable to install Adobe CS5\Exit Code 7
It was my pleasure to work with you on your Windows Support Request 1134614654.
I am glad to hear that the issue is resolved. We appreciate your time and patience in going through the troubleshooting steps performed.
The following is the summary of the troubleshooting steps performed that resolved the issue.
ACTION: Tried to install Adobe CS5.
RESULT: Unable to install Adobe CS5 getting error Exit Code 7.
    CAUSE: Conflict with Administrator rights.
RESOLUTION: Enabled Default Admin Account and  able to install Adobe CS5 and Acrobat Reader in default admin account.
Steps to enable Default Administrator Account:
    1.       First you’ll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing “Run as administrator” (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box).
    2.       Now type the following command:
    net user administrator /active:yes
    3.       You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice.
Steps to disable Default Administrator Account:
    1.       Make sure you are logged on as your regular user account, and then open an administrator mode command prompt as above. Type the following command: net user administrator /active:no
    2.       The administrator account will now be disabled, and shouldn’t show up on the login screen anymore.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 3 und Vista Home Premium

    Hallo,

    - Mein Betriebssystem lautet Vista 32 Ultimate

  • CS3 Web Premium Suite compatible with Vista 64 bit?

Greeting folks. I realize this is not a Photoshop specific question, but does anyone use CS3 Web Premium Suite on Vista 64? If so, do you have any problems with any of the programs?
I'm contemplating upgrading from Vista 32 to Vista 64.
    Thanks!

I just got the Adobe Master Collection CS3 to run on a Dell Workstation (quad core processor, 2GB RAM) with Vista 64 Business. Photoshop is deathly slow, to the point of being unusable. It takes up to 2 minutes just to load the programme. Clicking menu items or drop-down buttons produces no response for about 5 secs. I created a blank layer and tried to draw a simply brush stroke across it - again, a 5 sec delay before the stroke appeared. This makes it impossible to do any useful work. Other parts of the package are better (e.g. Dreamweaver, Illustrator) but Bridge is slow and I have a subjective impression that some of my none Adobe programme are now running more slowly. I did look at CPU and memory utilization - never got about 60% and was mostly around 10%.
When I run the Photoshop CS3 trial on an AMD duo core computer with only 1GB RAM (which is running XP Pro), I get a much snappier response. Makes me suspect a Vista issue.
Since others appear to be having much better success, I would be very interested in any tips, etc. which I might try.
    Thanks.

  • Three Creative Suite Versions slowing down my machine

    Hi All,
I have licensed CS1, CS2 and CS5 in my machine here in the office. CS1 is the first copy that we have, then we bought CS2 several years back. Then last year, we upgraded it to CS5. Suddenly, I'm exerpeicing low memory issues/errors with my machine and one of the top "culprits" is my Adobe CS versions.
I'm only using CS5 but I still have installed in my machine the previous versions of CS. Is it safe to uninstall CS1 and CS2 so I can only use CS5? I'm not sure if I can still use CS5 without the two previous versions cos CS2 and CS5 are upgrades from CS1.
Please help me with this issue. Our IT can't help me either cos it's a purchased license by our team so they don't know anything about this.
I tried looking for solutions in KB but there are no solutions about low memory or uninstallation of old CS versions.
I appreciate help from Adobe support team on this. I'm in dire need of help. We're having a launch soon and my machine's about to crash.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
I wonder why my name is anchorChar. I can't remember naming myself as such.

I'm afraid you're not providing enough info to make any sense of this. It's extremely unlikely that this is in any way related to the odler suites, but rather an issue with CS5's various services and/or possible hardware and driver compatibilty issues in individual programs. Many users run different versions of Adobe software without issues, so whatever it is, it's quite specific to your system. Also it would perhaps help, if you could tell us what exactly you are doing when you get these errors/ crashes....
