  • Sound Blaster XFI Surround - Need a mixer like Creative Surround Mixer

Hi I have the SB XFI Surround card which connects through USB, I had an Audigy which had a great piece of software called Creative Surround Mixer, through which I could easily adjust the sound levels of each speaker by dragging a point on the display and thus mark my location in relation to the speakers. This was really great and I need that software or something similar for my XFI, is there anything with the same functionality? I tried downloading and installing the Creative Surround Mixer but apparently it doesnt work with the XFI. Thanks

Meanwhile, I am working around that issue by plugging the Omni Surround into another machine (running 10.9) and using AirPlay display mirroring from my 10.10 machine towards the 10.9 machine. That way I still have full control over the sound output from the Yosemite machine. That isn't ideal but works good enough until they release an update.
Same issue here. Would be nice to have a working driver on OSX 10.10 !

  • Cannot install Creative Sound Mixer for Audigy 2 Platinum card - he

I've have this card and software working fine in my system for a couple of years. I just did a clean install to clear up some issues, and when I try to insert my Creative application disc and install the software, I get a blue screen every time with a STOP 9C error. I installed most of the applications I actually wanted manually but I cannot find/download/install the Creative Surround mixer which I would like to have. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

    michaelsweeden,
The blue screen is puzzling. But you should find a setup.exe on the installation CD in /Audio/SurMixer. Run that to install the Surround Mixer.

  • Surround Mixer for Audigy and Windows 7?

    Hello,
I've just installed Windows 7 and I see that the old XP Surround Mixer is no longer working.
    I know that?Windows has a sound?mixer, but it is?really annoying and incomplete.
Is there a functional Creative Surround Mixer that I can use with Windows 7?

I would like answers to your question also. Since re-installing, & losing surround mixer, I have sacrificed?most functions with regards to 5./7. sound. As you say, Window's own software is sub-standard when using the card. I love the Audigy2 ZS Platinum and want to get it up and running to its full glorious potential.
?PLEASE PLEASE CREATIVE?PROVIDE US WINDOWS 7 USERS WITH A NEW UPDATED?VERSION OR A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE.
    Yours in anticipation

  • Audigy 2 ZS No mic or line-in in both Windows and with Creative Surround Mix

    Happy New Year to all.
I have installed 2 ZS card. Output works well. I want to record a couple of old vinyl albums. I cant either through Creative Surround mixer or through windows get either a Line-in or microphone input to select from. I have tried everything but this forum. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Eric

In the Creative Mixer on the right hand side you should see a separate column with a "Rec" heading. There should be a small upside-down triangle. Click on that and you should get a list. Choose "Analog Mix" which includes Microphone, Line-In, etc. Then to the left, un-mute the source you want.

  • Live!Surround speaker setting not showing in surround mixer for SB Live Platinum

the Li've!Surround option for speaker settings in not showing in my Surround Mixer
    i have:
    Windows 2000 sp4
    SB Li've! Platinum 5.
    ASUS CUSL2
    Sound Blaster Li've! - Li'veDrvUni-Pack (English) SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US 28-Feb-03
Installed the speaker preset for li've!surround but the only headphone, 2 speaker, 4 speaker, and 5. speaker shows up on speaker configuration of the Surround Mixer
i've played the AC3 files on the cdrom and Dolby pro logic surround, I get sound from all fi've speakers on my Denon D-850 w/ Dolby surround pro-logic
I can't use the surround mixer to test all the speakers, only front left and right speakers work on the test, i have to open to wav files directly to test the center speaker, the rear speaker test doesn't work from the wav file
My Denon system only has analog stereo inputs, so this is my only option for letting Sound Blaster know I have 5 speakers.
I've uninstalled all SB Li've software and drivers from the unipack, and reinstalled the orignal drivers and apps from the CD-ROM SBP5-CDSD-W-US MID : 32680 5-Sep-2000 and the Li've!Surround speaker setting reappears in the Surround Mixer.
Is the Li've!Surround setting no longer available in the new Surround Mixer in Li'veDrvUni-Pack (English) SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US 28-Feb-03 ?

    so I found this post...
    http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...7?dmode=source
it seems Li've Surround is no longer supported in the new drivers
....so what would be the best setting to play ac3 files or DVD's through my receiver with only 2 analog inputs (left and right) available w/ Dolby surround prologic. Should I set it to 2 speaker or 4 speaker setting in the Surround Mixer in order to send the best signal to the prologic decoder on my receiver with 5 speakers (2 front, center, 2 rear)

  • Creative Surround Mixer won't o

I have an older Gateway Essential machine with Pentium III processor and running Windows 98 2nd Edition. It came from Gateway with Sound Blaster LIve Value and has worked flawlessly for 6 years. I upgraded the speakers to Creative set 5 years ago. Windows Media 9.00 and Real Player0.5.
A month ago, when I tried to open the mixer, I got the following error messages:
. CTSURMIX caused an invalid page fault in moduleMFC4Z.DLL at 0Sf:5f40404b. Then it gives registers and stack information.
    2. CTSURMIX caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 08F:bff9db5e. Then it gives
a different set of registers and stack information.
I have attempted the following to resolve the problem:
. completely removed all Creative software and reinstalled 6 times. No change. Uninstalled again.
    2. Went to Gateway site and down loaded the most recent Gateway update verison 3.2.0.8. Removed
prior Gateway update file. Installed new update file.
    3. Downloaded most recent Creative updated drivers.
Ran Gateway update and Creative updates.
And still the Mixer gives me the same error messages. From reading the forums, it seems that I am not the only one to have this very frustrating problem!!
My music and videos sound awful because I can't adjust the effects.
Nothing else about my system changed ...no new software or devices were installed. Suddenly, the mixer wouldn't open. To me, this is the heart of my sound system. I allows me to enjoy my music and video files and customize to my liking!
Has anyone got any ideas. Sure would appreciate any help
    Thanks

System restore did not work. Downloading and installing everything on creatives site for Audigy 2 Platnium, did not work.

  • How to enable Volume Meter in Surround Mix

This file "Mixer_LevelMeter.bmp" is in theme for Surround Mixer.

    sonicx,
What sound card do you have? I don't have a sound meter option in the surround mixer for my Audigy LS or ZS cards. However, for the ZS card, I have a volume meter in WaveStudio. Also, the Creative MediaSource Player has meter bars. Have you tried those?Message Edited by Katman on 0-27-2006 0:08 PM

  • SB Live Value - Where can I get the Surround Mixe

I just reinstalled my Windows and am trying to find a way to install the Surround Mixer for the SB. I can't find the original CD, and have been looking online for a couple of days already. The software used to be available in the Creative site, I think I downloaded it from there (here) the last time.. It should be available, right?

  • SBlive Mixer for Lin

    Hello,
is it possible to use the hardware capabilities of the SBli've sound card also in GNU/Linux. I searched the available mixer applications, but did not find a suitable one. Especially I want to fiddle around with the hardware effects the emu0k processor provides (like parametric eq, reverb, chorus, distortion etc.). In Windows there is the Creative Surround Mixer application or the kx project. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?
For my personal taste, my sbli've sounds bests when using the "POP"-Parametric EQ setting.

Hangtime, the new alaesi USB 2.0 multimix and the Tascam US-1641 both are reported to do 8 streams of USB. I haven't seen it myself so I don't know how well they work but the US-1641 got some great reviews.
Also new firewire standard coming 3.2 Gb per second... yes thats 3.2 Gigabits.

I'm looking for a link to re-install the Creative Surround Mixer. Without it, I cannot adjust the digital output. I'm ideally looking for a way to re-download all of the software that came with the Sound Blaster 2 ZS. TY in advance. The software download only gives me the drivers. TYTY

  • Troubleshooting Surround Mixer and Speaker Settin

    Hello,
First, I am using a clean install of Windows XP (no service pack 2).
A year ago I bought an Alienware computer with a vanilla Sound Blaster Audigy 2. Yesterday, I reformatted and reinstalled the drivers and software (Surround Mixer and Speaker Settings only) from the Alienware Master CD. The Creative Surround Mixer and Speaker Settings programs will NOT open. The "Creative Volume Control" icon appears on the system tray. Right-clicking it does nothing. Double-clicking does nothing. Opening the programs from their locations does nothing. I get an hourglass for half a second -- then, nothing.
I updated the Audigy 2 drivers from the Creative website. The programs still would not open. I updated both pieces of software. They still will not open.
At the moment, I have no surround sound -- I'm using 6. Speakers, and the control panel settings allow only 5. and 7.. So I'm in a rather poor position.
I did not have this problem before I reformatted.
    Why is this suddenly happening?
I would also like to comment that not including the software bundles with your downloadable drivers is a poor business practice. Every other sound/video card manufacturer includes fully functional driver/application resources on their website. What gives? You're punishing your customers for losing the installation CDs -- and those of us who never had one (Alienware includes everything on a rather sloppy backup CD) are defenseless.

The card is OEM. Alienware offers only the earliest drivers for the card by website (the exact same from the recovery CD) and none of the software found on the CD. My 'hardware analysis' tech support period is expired with Alienware, so they aren't much further help.
When the computer first shipped to me, the Audigy 2 card was installed as "Audigy 2" under control panel, all the software functioned, and updating through www.creative.com worked fine. After the reformat, installing the drivers from the recovery CD (in the Audigy 2 folder) caused the card to be listed simply as an "Audigy" under control panel. None of the software worked. Installing the latest drivers from www.creative.com caused the card to be properly listed as "Audigy 2", but of course, the software still does not work. Surround sound is working, I just have no way to manipulate *any* of its settings.
Does this mean I need to purchase an entirely new retail card in order to use surround sound again properly...

  • "cannot initialize surround mixer" er

    Hi,
My operating system was Win98 and Creative SB Li've Value was working without any problems...
But I changed the OS to Windows XP Pro, and now when I open creative surround mixer, I get message..
Can some-one advise me something about this problem please?
    Thanks,
    Murat

    Murat,
Did you install a driver package from the website?
After you install an XP driver (the original CD is not meant for XP), check in Control Panel > Sounds & Audio that the card is selected as the Playback Device.
