Creative Ultra Cam Goes From Brilliant to Grainy in One Hour

Used the cam. Signed off the computer. Turned computer back on. Picture is grainy, colourless, unfocused. Uninstalled and reinstalled software to no avail. I've had this cam less than a month? What the heck is going on?

I would check would be the Cam Centre. There are hue, saturation and contrast controls there. Hit the default button and see does that fix it. If so something is interfering with the camera settings, possibly another capture driver.
Go thru some of these steps in order to resolve it:
1) Deinstall and reload the camera driver.
2) Deinstall the camera driver then delete the contents of the C:\Windows\Twain and Twain32 folder. You should back up the contents first or make system restore point if you are running XP.
3) Use MSCONFIG.EXE from Start Run and disable the start up items. See if one of these is interfering with the camera.

in sm37 go to the ur job and select that and goto job in menu bar and say copy and give proper name and then select the copied job and agian goto job in menu and click then it takes to the next screen where you can select start condition and give timings and periodicity and save the job..

Iphone 3GS - Battery Meter goes from 1% to 100% in one min and randomly shuts off - HELP!!

I bought an iphone 3gs off a friend which was in perfect working order apart a big crack on the back so i paid for the back to be changed and now it randomly switches on and off lasting from 30 seconds to a couple of hours and does not appear to charge. I have tried so many things but i am not at a complete loss.
Any one got any fixes?

Whoever replaced the back could have messed it up, you should get a new phone.

Is there a way to access all the items in the tools section without seeing all the options? That is to say can one use keyboard for functions? My tools menu doesn't scroll down, only goes from left to right for one page and no more options.

I can't seem to view web pages. I noticed when I clicked on the tools menu I don't get the usual drop down menu of choices. I get a horizontal listing of options with a white background. I suspect the issue may be somewhere in some settings of my tool bar or the way the system displays web pages.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). 
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]] 
 
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Going from 30GB to 80GB

Folks, I'm thinking of going from my 30GB Video to one of the new 80GB. Not worried about the cost, but more concerned about how easy and upgrade would be ... is it as simply as plugging the new one into the computer and having my tunes library sent to the new device? How do i get photos i have taken from my Creative PC Cam 930 Slim?

I have a Creative PC-CAM 930 Slim and I have taken some pictures with it when i went on holiday (using it like a digital camera). I have like 28 images that I took on the camera (not on the memory card). I despereatly need those photographs, but I can't seem to access the pictures on my computer.
I want to get the pictures from the camera and onto my PC.
When i connect the camera into the computer, than try and explore what's on the camera. It only sets its self up as a webcamera and doesn't show any pictures on it. When I view the camera without being plugged in and without the memory card I can see my 28 pictures.
I have all the software from the setup disc installed onto the computer and the relevant drivers. I have even called my local creative support centre. And they said the camera never came out where I li'ved and the only places it did come out in was the USA and Asia, so they have no idea of what it looks like and how it works.
Does anyone here know how i can access those pictures on my computer and transfer and save the pictures onto my computer?

Isn't this already being cover in the user manual? You need to change the camera mode to PC Mass storage mode before connecting the camera to the computer for photo transfer.

Did you try booting off your Install disk holding the c key down. From here you can get to the drop down menu just a few clicks in (you are not going to install) and run the Disk Utility>Repair Disk. See if it will let you do this.

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

Thanks for that Damead, I agree with you that Organiser is real pain (there is a total lack of intuitiveness if that is the correct word).
For my own work I use 'Lightroom' for around 90% of the time, only going into PSE10 for the 10% difficult bits the Lightroom can't handle.
I only needed to sort out the JPEG file opening method within PSE10 for some freinds in a small Photo Group that I run in Woodhall Spa, UK. 50% of the 12 members are beginners & a number of them do not have Raw capability on their Camera's, but now they can get their JPEG's into Camera Raw within PSE10 they have the same simple tabular form of adjustment sliders (not as many as in Lightroom of cause) but it gets over the labourious problem of going thru the PSE10's individual tool selection process each and every time since we are trying to get everyone in the Group working with individual Tools rather than the 'Auto' functions. We do this so that they learn what they are doing rather than staying 'dumb&happy' within Auto all the time & they also learn how to get more detailed control for each photo.
Ref. your comments on file handling/usage, I agree with your comments. Its far and away much more preferable to set up a file structure in 'Finder" (or in 'Explorer' if still using Windows) that you understand so you always know how to find the files. Also, I also never ever use the Camera Auto Load programme but physically 'drag & drop' photo files direct from the 'card' into the file system so I always know thier place (ie: they go into the location I want, not that which the Auto Loader wants).
As regards your comment about 'Lightroom', I don't have any problems at all since I just imported the whole of my photo file structure into the Lightroom Library Catalouge and then it automatically shows up on the LHS of the screen, still in that format, so you can search it direct within Lightroom and display all of the photo's in variuos arrangements and sizes; everything is as easy to find as it is in 'Finder' plus of cause you have all the 'Tagging' possibilities to use as well. As you add more new files into the 'Finder' structure, all you need to do in Lightroom is reimport, starting 1 level up from the new files and Lightroom will find the new files that need loading (ignoring the older ones already in the Library at that or lower levels) then 1 click and its done.
Your comments about getting others to follow a set file structure is very pertinant and also applies to evrything else that one ever does apart from just photo work; the times I have had to help others find info/files etc on their PC's because they don' know the location of anything is too many to contemplate.

I was talking about an advanced action, which is not loaded externally but executed on runtime (will be translated to AS). So this will only work if you can pass the value of the variable containing the slide number you want to the SWF. For that you'll need JavaScript and I'm not that acquainted with JS. Uploading Creative Webb cam software.

While uploading Creative Web cam software, I received an error message indicating that the installation was cancled due to a "likely" Apple Quick time error. The error is not specifically stated.
The message added that microsoft had researched the problem, but currently there are no solutions.
Can anyone provide insight into this problem?

What do you mean by "uploading Creative... software"? Do you mean you're trying to install it on your computer? If that's what you're referring to, perhaps this web page from Creative will help.

Creative Ultra for Notebook, white balance not working??

After years of use with my Creative Notebook Cam Pro I decided to upgrade and get the Ultra for Notebook because it's a CCD and works better in lower light conditions.
The drivers install fine however I cannot adjust the white balance nothing changes when I click apply. I have both 98SE and XP drivers installed and it appears that the bug is present in both sets of drivers.
This is a big disappointment because using this cam indoor with artificial lighting is next to being useless. Furthermore there's no saturation controls included in the drivers so I couldn't reduce the colour to b/w even if I wanted to.
As a product that's been on the market for nearly 2 years I'm surprised that no bug fixes have been issued for this problem I'm sure it's been mentioned before here?
Does anyone know if CLabs will fix the problem soon because as it stands this product isn't worthy of my time or money.

Whenever I try to take a picture with flash on my camera goes black.

There are two issues that come to mind... the first (hopefully it's this one) would be that you have a software issue that could be solved by restoring your iPhone from a back up...
The other would be that you have a hardware issue with the camera ... if the camera worked fien before you upgraded, then likely it's a corrupted software file that can be solved by doing the restore.

I'll add that if you have a new camera supported in ACR 7 or 8 that isn't in ACR 6, I think "Open Anyway" will open Photoshop if it's not already open, but then might not do anything after that becaus PS/ACR can't open the raw file. Figured that out after a lot of confusion about why Photoshop just sat there.

IPhone 5: Restoring Camera Roll from iCloud Backup.

When restoring all data from iCloud Backup, Camera Roll never finished downloading. It was stuck at 5 out of 715. How can I restore Camera Roll from iCloud Backup now that the initial "start up" Restore is complete?

Got my photos & videos back into camera roll! I woke this morning and all 701 were there. This is a few less than the most recent backup had, but good enough. So, there were a few things flakey about my experience restoring from iCloud. Therefore as many, including yourself have noted, iCloud IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A TRUSTED METHOD for backing up, storing or restoring photos & videos. If your photos & videos are important to you, backup to your computer at regular intervals.
What worked?
1: Following randers4's suggestion to review ezjules' post (see above for link).
2: When the most recent backup failed, I went to the next one available (2 days old)
3: When the Photo App displaying X of XXX images downloading in camera roll got hung up on the first few images, I powered down the phone and it resumed downloading more. However, it hung up 2 more times and then proceeded while I went to bed.
4: Phone was plugged into A/C outlet entire time, no incoming or outgoing phone calls or texts.
I am no longer going to back up photos or videos to the cloud. I will also cancel my additional storage capacity on iCloud. Why pay for secure storage that is so flakey?!?
