mi girl have CREATIVE WEBCAM INSTANT in notebook pc w/win xp pro.
Image in photo are bad.

Hey, i was just wondering if someone could help me. I too just recently bought this webcam and whenever i open the webcam center on the desktop i get this message...
Firstly it tries to configure a document viewer (DocumentViewer.msi) but it says that it is in a network that is unavailable.
It gives me the option to browse for the file.
Does anyone know where i could find it's

Big problems with creative webcam instant (sample included)

yesterday i purchased a creative webcam instant, and i am dissapointed in the quality of the video.
The frame rate is great, however there is artifacting and the video jumps around all over the place.
I have never had a problem with any other imaging devices before, so i cant see why this is happening with this camera.
This happens with the creative webcam center, and also in any other application that uses video from the camera (such as any instant messenger program)

Webcam Instant Distorted Images

I have recently successfully installed Webcam Instant, but the image I see on my own screen during Skype calls is distorted to show 4 of me and 2 of who I am speaking to. The image on my screen is also very poor quality and of a pale green colour. Apparently the image received from my camera at the other end is AOK. Any ideas on how to solve the problem ?

Just recently bought this cam, worked fine for a week but now not able to record video: Getting message stating unable to capture video. Please check you have sufficient space on your hard disk. In the Creative WebCam Center software, go to Tools->Settings->Capture tab. You should be able to see a Video Capture option by the left side(make sure your WebCam is connected to the computer). Click that and then try changing the video compressor format used.

Windows XP doesn't support Parallel Port webcams, so I do not believe it is even possible to make such a driver. That webcam was also made back in 994-95...

I purchased a 'creative webcam instant' recently but my disc drive has stopped working, i am looking for a downloadable version of the installation disc ..... can anyone help i am dying to get it up and running!!!

WebCam Instant - Horrible framerate

I just had a look around the forums and noticed there are quite a few threads regarding problems with the WebCam Instant model. Anyhow, my problem isn't as severe as most of those, for the moment anyway..
I'm experiencing some really horrible framerates, ranging from 9 to 20, primarily in the lower region. This goes for both the WebCam center and MSN Messenger. On top of that, the capturing seems to freeze every 5 or 6 seconds, which lasts about half a second. As you can imagine, this is getting quite frustrating. I just reformatted my harddri've and reinstalled windows, hoping that would fix my problem, but alas - it did not.
I was hoping this new camera would provide a significant upgrade to my webcam photographing quality and video shooting, but my old cam which I bought for barely a dime and a nickle honestly performed way better than my WebCam Instant is currently doing.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I bougth the creative webcam Instant with a small microphone package yesterday. The microphone is very great. Its sound is very clear and loud, but my friend told that she heard very loud noise. It causes from the microphone because when I removed it, the noise was disappear. Moreover, like erique87's case, the framerate of the webcam is horrible. I used it with yahoo messenger. It is not freeze, but it is not smooth. Its framerate from yahoo is about 0.7 fps.
My friend's webcam is logitech. It shows higher framerate about 1.8 fps.
I would like to know that how I can adjust the framerate. I don't need the higher quality. I prefer smooth picture. I change the quality in the yahoo messenger option to the fast speed, but nothing changed. Please let me know. [email protected]

Webcam Instant Image is AWFUL!

hello, im wondering if someone can help me. i've recently bought the creative webcam live effects. installed it, PERFECT picture quality. problem is, it was as SLOW as watchng paint dry. i returned that to the store and bought the creative instant. everything works perfect except the picture quality. its VERY grainy. previous to these two i had owned a creative webcam 5 (i believe it was called) and that worked perfectly (until i accidently stepped on it) anyway, im using windows xp,service pack ,intel CPU 240GHz, 52MB of RAM
can anyone help or should i also return this one as well?

sorry. can't help u with ur problem. But i share ur pain and agony. i was using pc cam 900 with excellent results and now i am using 950 slim with awful results. My question is also posted on the noticeboard. perhaps, there is a secret plan by creative to degrade the qualities of all its latest problems.

Webcam Instant - Error code 10 on windows xp - please help

can anyone help me - i have bought thecreative webcam instant and am using windows XP. in my imaging devices i right click on creative webcam and it comes up with Device not detected Error code 10.i have uninstalled and installed about 5 times and still it comes up with this message. the software is on the computer but it says no camera device detected. the driver is on the computer though.can anyone help me to get it working. it is pluged into my usb port and windows xp states that it detects it but it may not work properly........... You're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file. (Apple Application Support is where program files that are used by more than one Apple program are kept.) Some XP systems aren't liking the 4.0.0.3207 version of the dll that is included in Apple Application Support 1.5.0.
The workaround at the moment on XP is to either:
(1) Swap out your existing version of the dll for the 4.0.0.3205 version that was included in Apple Application Support 1.4.1.
(2) Alternatively, you could download the icu4c-401-Win32-msvc8.zip from:
http://icu-project.org/download/4.0.html
... extract the 4.0.1.0 version of the dll from that package, and replace your current 4.0.0.3207 with that.
The location of the existing file on your system is at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\icuuc40.dll
Drag the copy you find there out onto your desktop, and then drag in the version 4.0.0.3205 or the 4.0.1.0.

Creative NX Ultra and Creative WebCam Center.

Hello. Just installed my Creative NX Ultra webcam, and it works good with msn etc, but when I run Creative WebCam Center I get this; "No supported Creative camera detected. Please plug in to continue." I have no idea what to do, I've tried reinstalling the webcam drivers and the webcam center, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

I don't have the same issues as you do, but wanted to see if we have the same camera or not, maybe help each other out even.. I'm thinking that I bought my camera a couple of years ago, but I only had it hooked up and tried it once. At that time, it seemed like it worked fine, but now the video doesn't look that great and I'm even wondering if it is the right software! I have a seperate headset. But being as I've never turned it on again after that, I've had to reinstall and not 100% sure if there is an upgrade or not for the software. So what version software do you have?
I have version 2.03.01 and it says PC-CAM Center for the NX ultra. I says Instant Live Video chats, but being as I'm not to sure yet how to use it, I am wonderng why it tells me to "save".. I would have thought that if your using it online, why would you save it?
At anyrate.. if you or anyone else should see this, is there a higher version for the software?
AND, I want some advice of what to buy for working online, I need a camera for this. Am I supposed to get a new headset to match?..
I hope someone gets back to me soon, cause I've been advised to buy another brand and I really don't want to, being as Everything else on my computer is set up for sound using Creative labs.

I suspect this "Highest Still Image Resolution 640x480" is "software interpolated" because the FEATURES-page uses the wording "at UP TO to 640 x 480 resolution" and by other Creative web-cameras the pictures with biggest dimensions are usually taken with software interpolation mode enabled.
Creatives marketing seems to have taken care that different web cameras seem to be incomparable as the product webpages dont offer consistent information.
I have limited storage space on hard disk and I want to run "Capture at regular intervals" session over a longer period of time, pointed at construction site.
If I would know the maximum resolution mode, which is not software interpolated, then I could optimize my disk usage by taking the still image shots at the maximum physical resolution the camera actually can handle and get the best quality out of it at the minimal cost of hard disk capacity consumption.
And then afterwards if I need pictures which would look bigger, then interpolate the taken shots manually by myself with IrfanView or Photoshop or with whatever program that can resize image.
I assume, that running webcam with the software interpolation enabled is basically equal to what I can achieve afterwards with Photoshop or Irfanview if I make the picture dimensions bigger in previously mentioned software programs.
Currently I have taken still image shots at regular intervals in 640*480 mode outside my window.
The picture quality is poor, yet 640*480 images in BMP format consume huge amount of disk space (900KB each).
I have already some tens of gigabytes saved onto HDD... ;D
As the image quality is already poor as it is, I dont want to use JPG format, because JPG is lossy format and therefore it would make a poor image look even more poor.
Because of the 640*480 image quality looks poor, I assume that the image quality in 640*480 by "PD1170 Creative WebCam Notebook" is alreay software interpolated and therefore it would make much more sense to make still image shots at some lower resolution such as 352x288.
Am I correct?
Therefore I need to know the maximum non interpolated mode. So..

the Device Manager error message reads:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
Also, i followed the instructions to do a clean boot, and installed it that way (after uninstalling it first, obviously) and it still gave me an error message in the bottom corner saying there was an error installing the hardware. To clarify this, after the wizard directs me to connect the Webcam, it automatically closes, and the error message i see, i believe, is from Windows.
To make sure i'm doing this correctly, and know what i'm talking about, i want to lay out what i've been doing. I downloaded the driver from the Creative website. I made sure that i had no existing drivers or anything on my system for this equipment. I then simply "run" the driver installation, and follow the directions until it directs me to insert the camera, at which time the wizard closes, and i get the error message.

Creative Webcam GO! no snapshot motion detection

Hi bascially I have downloaded the avail software from Creative downloadables
for my Creative WebCam Go!.
what i needed intially was motion detection with snapshooting capabilty until the motion ends.
but instead the Webcam Monitor provides :
- continious snapshooting after the monitor starts (endless process until user click stop monitor)
- video caption when motion is detected and for a period (in seconds) you have configured in the settings
and awaits next motion after the period ends.
So here i hope to have a combination of the 2 avail options . Which is :
- snapshooting images when motion is detected for a period of time configured . And awaits next motion after the period ends.

I have a web cam go as well and my XP PRO won't even let me install the drivers even after having it continue anyways.
