Creative Zen 16GB Flash - Album artwork prob

Just a quick problem I'm having with my Zen.
I have a single Feeder song which came with the album artwork when I downloaded it, but now, every song with no album name given goes automatically in to that Feeder album. So for example "Ultrabeat - Pretty Green Eyes" will appear with the Feeder artwork.
I can't seem to find a quick fix for this issue, so any info will be appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Chris

Hi,
The Feeder album artwork you are seeing on your Zen has been wrongly associated with the other songs.
If you just want to delete the 'wrong' artwork then you will need to connect the Zen to your computer and control the player as a separate dri've (so you don't want to use the Zen Media Explorer). Open the music folder and find the songs you are referring to. In this folder you should see some alb files mixed in with your music files. You should find here the titles that are incorrectly displaying the Feeder album art. Right click these and search them to make sure they have the wrong art and then delete as appropriate.
I hope this hel
ps.

  • Creative Zen 16gb: Audible ff/rev prob

Is there any way to fast forward or reverse in an audible audiobook on this player? I can play and sync the files just fine. I can skip between the sections and such, but for the life of me I can't use the "seek to" function or hold down the ff or rw button to move *within a section* on an audiobook. I'd like to be able to backtrack on an audiobook for a few mins or seconds etc if I missed something. Navigation only between 40-45 min sections is just a bit unforgiving.
Why I can ff/rev with ease in a song but not in an audiobook is just beyond me. I do like this player a lot, but this is such a downer.
Is there anyone with audible experiencing this issue?
    Please help. Thanks.

Seem to have this trouble when using Windows Media Player to add Audible to my player. The files added using Audible Manager will FF/REV like it is supposed to. ^^

  • Creative Zen 16GB Album art Probl

When I had finished my uploading my MP3 it started to say : Updating Player Please wait. It was a slow and in the end where it reached 50% I took it out. Seemed fine. But some album songs have been placed with album art which does not belong to them. Any way of fixing this other than removing all the songs and starting again? Or is this a firmware problem?

apparently the new zen only reads album art with resolutions less than 200 x 200 (read this on this forum and is correct with my player (new creative zen 8gb). i have the same issue but followed someone elses advice (also off here) to use free software 'album cover art downloader' and use it to write the art to the tracks (and in settings make it less than 200 x 200).
Used zen media explorer to trf to my player and have full album art. hope this hel

  • Creative Zen 16GB does not delete mp3

    Hello,
I am having this problem where I would delete an mp3 using the "remove" function but then when I choose to random play all, the song is back on the player. I have the latest firmware dated in Feb 08. I never really noticed until I started to hear the same songs over and over. Is anyone else experience this? Is there a fix out? I picked the Creative Zen over other Mp3 players because it could delete songs on the fly. Apparently, not.

    Hello.
You're just removing the songs from the playlist (random play all), not actually deleting them. To delete them, Press the top right button while playing a song you want to delete and click look-up artist. Then click the album the song is in. Then press the top right button while high-liting the song you want to delete. Then click on delete track. A black window should show up saying Deleting... .
    That's it! Song gone forever.

  • Creative Zen (16GB Model) showing incorrect song information

<Creative Zen (6GB Model) showing incorrect song information I was given a Creative Zen for christmas, and I'm very happy with it.
The only thing is, I've noticed that it seems to occasionally display the wrong title for the song it's playing. I have a playlist called RandomAll which I created using the Media Explorer software. Sometimes, when I look down at the player, I'll notice the wrong song information on screen. Not just the title or anything, but completely wrong information. For example, right now, my player is telling my that a Rihanna song is playing, and gives me all the details for that song (including the extended details if I go into the menu). But the song that's actually playing is a cover of Fraggle Rock by Me First & The Gimme Gimmes. It doesn't seem to be the same songs every time or anything like that, so I don't think it's a problem with the files.
Is this an issue that has been noticed by anyone else? Is there anything I can do to fix it's And if not, is it the kind of thing I need to send my player back for?

@ It could be incorrect ID3 tags on your .mp3s, if the source for your music had the wrong ID3 information, your Zen won't show the correct information unless you use an? ID3 Tag Editor to correct the source.

  • Creative Zen 16Gb is crazy 0.O

Greetings, NMSX from Spain, world champion's!! hehe

    Hi NMSX,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
See if you can boot your Creative ZEN from the recovery mode. You can find the instructions here. If yes, do a Clean-Up the Reboot. If it won't help, you may need to boot from the recovery mode again and select Format this time. Do note that formatting will delete all the contents of the player so you may need to backup your data first before formatting. If this doesn't help, then this could be a hardware issue. You may need to send it in for repair. Well I remember a similar case before but that was because the user accidentally applied a strong pressure on the player. I'm not saying you have the same scenario but its possible specially if you usually put the player on your pocket.

  • Using creative zen 16GB while charg

Wondering if it is possible to use the Creative Zen while it's plugged into the AC charger. Does this hurt the battery? I don't know much about lithium ion batteries. Is it better to keep it plugged in while using it or should I drain the battery before charging it's Or does it even matter?

It is certainly better to charge your battery rather than let them deplete. Even if you do not use the player for a long period of time, make sure that you charge your player at least once every 2 to 3 weeks. If the battery can depleted for too long a timeframe could seriously damaged the battery till they may be totally unuseable.
It is okay to keep the charger on while playing but personally I would think the best idea is not to continually leave the Zen on AC but play till you are around the last bar or so and then do the charge.

  • Creative Zen 16GB - increment/sync play cou

Folks;?I'm considering buying a Creative Zen 6GB, and was wondering if it increments the play count of songs as they're played. I'd also like to be able to sync this play count back to the song on my PC. I usually use MediaMonkey but would use WMP or a Zen-specific music manager, if forced to do so. ?Any other comments (pro/con) about this player would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dunno if it syncs it back to WMP (I've been having some sync challenges I hope I finally have a handle on) or if MediaMonkey will pick it up (installed mm, but am having a crazy time trying to build its database with fun SQL errors), but it does increment the play count in the Zen itself.

  • CREATIVE ZEN 16GB INTERMITTLY SHUTS DOW

    Hi,
I got a Creative Zen 6GB back in Christmas. I like this player very much. But,since the first week I have had this, the slightest touch have been shuting it down!!I would drop in to my pocket of my pants pocket for example or have it in my hands and bump it slightly and it would shut down. When I turn it back on,I would get a message"REBUILDING LIBARY ". It would work fine once that is completed. I then try taping on it with my finger for example and cant duplicate the issue. But,later on like the next day,a slight tap of it with my finger or something and it would shut down again!!Is my unit defecti've?I have the most current, latest firmware upgrade in it now. I know I have had over half a dozen times it would shut down for no reason.Ver .2.0 is the firmware version I currently have.
    Please help.
    Ko

I called Creative about my Zen Vision W shutting down and they recommended I do a cleanup and boot. Once that didn't work they sent me an RMA from and I'll be sending the player back to them. I suggest you do the same. Go into recovery mode and select clean up. Once that's completed see if you're still having problems, which no doubt you will. Do this before you contact Creative because? it will save you having to call them again. Contact Creative and they should send you an RMA form then hopefully another MP3 player which works properly this time. Make sure you find your original invoice or receipt of the MP3 player because Creative need it to verify that it's still under warranty. Expect them to take from 2 to 4 weeks to send it back to you. I would contact them again after two weeks because Creative don't contact you at all about what's happeing, you have to chase them up.
    Hope that hel

  • Creative Zen 16GB with iPod USB wall charg

I have a wall charger my wife uses for her iPod. Can I use this to charge my Creative Zen 6GB, or will it burn it out?

It shouldn't burn it out unless there is some sort of major diviation in wiring?from the USB standard. I couldn't imagine Creative or Apple doing such a foolish thing. Best thing to probably do is to give it a try. It should either charge or not charge. All USB should be nominally 5V @400-500 mAh, the AC adapters often deli'ver higher current to enable faster charging. More current won't hurt, the player will only use what it needs.

  • Creative Zen 16gb? The down button isn't responding well...

Sometimes when I press the down button, it doesn't respond at all, and other times I have to press it really hard. It was working fine until about a week ago. Is there any way to fix it's

    Hello Luv2rock,
Copy the contents first of your Creative ZEN to your PC, boot the player from the recovery mode and select Format. If the button works after formatting the player, could be some corrupt files on the player that is causing the problem. If No, I'm afraid this is already a hardware problem and you may need to send in the unit for repair.

  • Creative Zen 16gb goes crazy when FULL volume - 25 (with UE 5 P

I dunno if anyone in here have this problem!!! My zen goes crazy when i pump up the volume FULL. It has problem with MP3, AAC (Nero AAC) works fine. My mp3s are all LAME 3.97 vbr V0. And its surprising, when i use custom EQ setting even the MP3 works fine with FULL volume but once I change it to preset ROCK or anything else the sound goes cracking. My UE 5 pro's sound goes ON and OFF and the CRACKING sound is killing me. BTW I am using latest firmware version
(Creative ZEN Firmware .2.0). Any Idea! Thanks in Adv.

Just want to comment on the sound quality. With my player it's the opposite direction; sounds for videos are not as good as with my mp3 and wma files, but it's nowhere near bad either. With my set of Koss PortaPro the?sound is outstanding with the music.

  • Zen Vision: M Album Art prob

    Hi all...
I recently did a fresh install of Windows MCE and had to reinstall all my Creative stuff. I used the CD-Rom to reinstall (still mad about the MP3 conversion removal from the new version of mediasource). Since reinstalling everything, I cannot drag jpg's into the Zen Media Explorer to put on the Album Art.
It worked before I reinstalled. Now when I drag a picture onto the "musical note" icon, the hard dri've on the Zen Vision has activity (the docked icon spins) but the picture doesn't appear.
The album art I added before is all still there, but I can't change or replace it. Every time I drag, the hard dri've spins and everything, but the picture just doesn't show up.
I haven't installed Windows Media Player either.
    Any ideas?
    HB

I have found precisely the same problem.Re-installed windows last week, and ever since I have been unable to transfer album art. I used to do this by naming album art jpeg as "folder" and dragging album folder directly into Vision:M media explorer. I have also tried to dragging art onto the album art placeholder on "album" view - as described in creative knowledge base solution 879 - and this does not work. The only way I have found to transfer the album art is by syncing through media player . I should point out that I was using media player 0 before my re-install - but surely this cannot be the reason can it's The album art which I had transferred previously to my player is still fine. Is there any solution to this It's only a small problem, but it's really starting to bug me Thanks

  • Creative Zen 16GB playlist using anything but Creative Media Explore

I need some suggestions for creating a playlist using anything but Creative Media Explorer. I hate drilling down throught the artist/album folders! I hate that I can't view my playlist in Media Explorer (Manage or Create Playlist) as anything but filenames. With a long playlist, it's hard to see if you've already added the song.
I can see my playlist on?WMP and Rhapsody but can't edit. Any other third party software that would help me? I guess Creative Media Source won't?work with the Zen 6GB. Thanks!

@ It could be incorrect ID3 tags on your .mp3s, if the source for your music had the wrong ID3 information, your Zen won't show the correct information unless you use an? ID3 Tag Editor to correct the source.

  • Keep the "juice" always flowing in your Creative Zen MP3 flash play

The only charging method Creative supplied with your Zen is the short USB cable
to charge it when there is a PC USB port around.
Note: Creative sells car/auto & AC wall mount chargers and (international) travel chargers.
How to always keep the "juice" or Zen battery charged under these conditions?
#1. Camping, hiking or outdoor travel - no PC or no? AC or maybe no auto/car.
#2. Airplane travel - no pc or no AC or no auto/car.
    #3. Train/subway travel - no pc or no auto/car
#4. Car travel - no PC or no AC
#5. Foot travel - no PC or no AC or no auto/car
You could buy separate charging devices BUT when you total up the final bill
for all the devices you will be totally shocked at the cost plus the hassle of carrying all the
    modules and cords around.
I found, the other day, a perfect solution in a "all in one compact device"
from "Earhugger Powerpod" There are several models but the one you
want is the (white) "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370"
If it is good enough for the "fruit company" then it is good enough for Creative.
Do not pay over $27 (including shipping) (retail $40) or you will be paying too much.
Keep searching the web for the best price. Make sure its sealed in plastic security wrap.
What is the "EARHUGGER IPOD POWER POD - MP3-8370" (white)?
Charge your player, in your case, a Zen ( Not Ipod)? in your car's 2v cigarette lighter,
at home via wall outlet, via USB on your computer, or a 9 Volt Battery with this handy charger!
Note: A standard alkaline battery has ~ 544 ma and the Zen has an internal 550 mAh. Lithium-Ion polymer
battery, so it would take several alkaline batteries to charge up the Zen battery. You could also use
the more expensive Lithium 9 vdc @ ~ 200 mAh.
Note: This unit is NOT for international use!
Warning note: I inspected the model at Brookstone for the specs. but I have NOT purchased or tried one because
I am waiting for the price to drop even more on the Internet.
    Cheers.

I think by plugging in the charging cable it resets/reboots the player which loses the current track?
It may not be a big deal for people who only listen to music on their MP3 players, but it's "extremely critical" to people who listen to talk shows, Podcasts or audio books. Think about it, you're 2 hours into a 4-hour audio book and you're running low on juice. So you charge it and then your place is completely lost! And since the Zen Stone Plus doesn't accelerate when scanning forward, it take minutes to get back to your previous position. Very frustrating!
Even my cheap Muvo FM TX remembers its current position between battery changes or adding new files. As long as I don't?delete the current file (obviously), it will return the the exact location it was at when I last turned it off.
