Creative zen 20 gig wont install on win 7

)cHello I have the creative zen 20 gig model number hd005, this is now end of life on the creative website and is unsupported by win 7?, is there any way I can install the software so i can synch with my music, somehow had it working with vista but cant get it to work with win 7, dont want to but another player just because it wont synch with win7.

Follow the installation till the EULA screen and press the Internet Connection options link.
Select No, Thanks for both of the options and press OK.
Accept the EULA and continue the installation, that should prevent such hanging within the software update stage.

First of all: I'm sorry if my english is a little?bad..
I have a creative zen 4gb. What's weird is that it installed on my computer without problems at first. Then after a while I uninstalled the software that came with the cd(had some memory problem with my comp.) because I didn't think it was necasary for my Zen to work.
When I plugged the player into the pc again, the gray box with installation of new driver came up, and when I was finished with that, it just said? "a problem occured, the device is not installed".
I reinstalled the software for the player, and it still didn't work.
I don't know what to do! I've tride the troubleshoothing on this page, and to update my usb dri've.
Anyone have any idea what to do?
I also read somewere that wmp could have something to do with it, 'couse I updated to just before the problem occured. If that can be the problem... could someone tell me how I roll windows media back to 0?

you should have installed the software first (before plugging in your player).
when you were charging it for the first time, was it working normally (i.e. you've seen the red wallpaper etc.)?

Creative Zen Microphoto half-instal

Hi, I have a zen microphoto and I was installing the software + drivers + stuff onto my computer and there was a power cut halfway through installing, now there is a creative folder in Program Files (presumably only half full) but no listing on the Add/Remove software tool and when I try to reinstall, it doesn't launch the installer and instead just says Creative Zen MicroPhoto was successfully installed, even though it wasn't.

Just received thi today. Start the install, gets almost to the end and the following error occurs:
CTRegSrr Error
Missing File: \Creative\Shared Files\PDEJB.pid
I hit okay, and it continues but it never asks me to plug in the machine or anything. It tells me to reboot, I do, try to launch the program and it states that the program directory cannot be found.
Any ideas?

I have a Zen Touch 20gb and I know your problem. I had exactly the same one. It is an currupted file on the cd or possibly or maybe in a temp folder on your HDD. You should go to Nomadworld.com and download Nomad Explorer, then it should find it without any problems. Also, download the lastest drivers etc. and install them according to the directions on the sitea nd you'll have no problems

Creative cloud app wont install on iMac

I'm the admin for our group and I have a user who can't seem to download the creative cloud app, she can run the install and pick which programs she wants but it wont put the actual Creative cloud icon on her machine. Without this she can't run any add on and now her photoshop wont even open.

Hi this aft I bought the above mp3 player, installed all software and then updated firmware and hung on 'player rebooting' or something and now it doesn't do anything, plug it in and I get the Creative start up screen then black but the blue light is still on and I can't turn it off. I am having this same problem. The firmware was updating and it mysterious stopped updating. The player will not turn on. I have used the reset button and when I turn it back on all I get is "Creative" then a black screen. It seems the OS has been removed but an OS is required to import the new OS (Catch 22?)
I read about this on amazon.com. A woman who purchased this product had the same experience with 2 different players. Creative's tech support was unable to help and she had to send it back (just so the initial firmware could be re-installed or so it could be permanently put on shelf) On the third player, she decided to not install the update (wise decision).
I want someone at creative to read this loud and clear. IF A FIRMWARE UPDATE IS CAUSING A PORTION OF YOUR CUSTOMERS PLAYERS TO STOP WORKING, PUT THE FIRMWARE UPDATE ON HIATUS UNTIL YOU GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED. DON'T ALLOW YOUR UPDATE SYSTEM TO CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THIS UPDATE TO NEW CUSTOMERS. It doesn't take a technological genius to figure this out, it's just good practice. Do I am make myself absolutely clear?
I hope you guys can provide a solution, but if not, this is a nice $250 inconvenience that I just bought. I love driving to UPS, FEDEX, etc. to ship things back because the manufacturers update created a catch 22!!!! My creative cloud app wont install

I have followed instructions given on forum after members have complained of similar issues but to no avail. I have quit everything, logged out etc and but its almost like the app is on a constant loop with no result. I click download and it goes back to same page - click again and it may go to instructions on how but never begins.

For all those stuck... this will install the latest CC Manager.

first of all, i am german so my english isn't hte best...
i bought a creative ZEN 4GB. i installed all the stuff on the installation-cd restarted my system plugged the ZEN in my USB-Port WIN XP mentioned a new device and wanted to install an MTP device. i clicked on automatical search after some seconds windows found that mtp device but after two seconds a becam an error-message (it's in german: "ein dienstinstallationsabschnitt dieser INF datei ist ung?ltig"). so i can't communicate with my ZEN,i can't load music on it and so on.
do you have any idea how i can communicate with my PC and the ZEN ? please help me :-)
my system:
AMD 2500+
gig DDR RAM
enough hard-disk-space

My creative zen microphoto wont load. It's just a black screen with the creative logo. I have tried to format it from the recovery mode but that freezes too. Can anyone tell me any possible solutions to this problem?

I installed the Creative Zen disk that came with it, plugged it (the Zen) in and it worked fine. After cleaning up some files I wanted to remove, the player went comatose and I can't get it to shut off, i'm just going to let it run out of charge. ?The player is recognized by windows when I plug it in (I tried multiple USB ports) but I get no response from the ZEN Media Explorer, any suggestions for fixing this problem and preventing it from happening in the future? I'll post again when the thing shuts off, but it won't be until tommorow morning.

7. I then updated windows media player ten... just updates for 0 I didn't install .

When you are done with the procedure of deleting and reinstalling your the portable device I plugged in my mp3 player and it recognized it's not a big shock because it recognized it as a zen touch before I deleted the drivers. So I got the new drivers it noticed it, just like other systems noticed, but this time the Creative horribly programmed firmware update recognized it. I will never buy another creative product again, probably most of you wont either. But I have already paid the money for this product so I plan on using it until the battery dies on me. P.S. Goodluck to all of you I dont know if I will check this again but it took me about 8 - 0 hours to fix. I tried to make it as descripti've as I could so I cant be of much more help. But feel free if you have other fixxes to add or questions

30 gig Creative Zen Firmware Prob

Hi I own a 30 gig Creative Zen Xtra Mp3 player and have been having a problem with it. I have owned it for 3 months. When I turn the player on it starts to rebuild the library but crashes about ?s of the way in and states that there is a firmware problem. Once this screen has come up I cannot turn the player off so I have to remove the battery. I followed instructions posted on another site and entered the rescue menu and selected re- install OS. I deleted the old one and downloaded the <SPAN>Firmware Update version .20.08. I opened the file and a warning came up saying that the firmware I have on my mp3 player is more recent than the one I wanted to install. The mp3 player I own is a old model so I thought that this was wrong. I continued and installed the new firmware. I rebooted the player and it rebuilt the library to the previous level only to crash again stating a firmware problem despite the update. After this I selected the clean up option. It scanned the disc but nothing changed.
<SPAN>I have no other options from the player except to enter the rescue menu. I cannot even turn the player off. When I reinsert the battery it turns on and attempts to rebuild the library and then crashes and the firmware crashes icon will stay until the battery runs out. I run Windows XP home on my computer and I can find no other people complaining of the exact symptoms as mine. Thanks for any help.

If you have tried all this then I can only think the player is faulty.
If it's under warranty then obviously contact Creative Support. If it's not under warranty you can of course also contact Creative Support to get it repaired.
It might be the hard disk which is at fault which you can replace yourself, but it's hard to know this is the problem for sure.
