Creative Zen 20g + windows vista = possible or not?

Hi everyone,
I have a Creative Zen 20gb which I really like, but I recently switched to Windows Vista and of course it's not compatible. Is there any possible way I can make this works? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you!?

How to do it in this thread? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...read.id=227697

Can anyone tell me which Firmware or software I need to install so that I can get my mp3 player working again. Have Windows Vista 32 bit, and Creative Zen Touch with about 5 gigs worth of music on, which is now stuck on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a zen neeon. Tried running the program, all the set up prompts seem to work, but the program is nowhere to be found after "installation".
I don't want to have to buy another player, seeing this one has 200 songs in it. (which is nothing compared to your 5 gigs!Would be a real pain in the ar$e.

I have the Student package installation so I am unable to uninstall then re-install as one off set up. Or is it possible to get the re-installation on a student package, and if so will I have to re-install everything?
have been using Dreamweaver only two months ago and now it is will not open. I do not get anything on the screen, no egg-timer or anything. Tried to look up online to solve problem, but no joy.

If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences.  Note: your work space, custom settings & 3rd party extensions will be wiped out by this.  So make backups of anything you need to keep.

  • Creative Zen Micro & Windows 7

Well, I got one of the older Zens (Copyright 2004), and had it working so I could transfer music to and from my tower. However, I have recently sold that tower, and traded to a laptop. When I try to install the drivers, it will not read, and will not allow me to get the music I have on there (over 500 songs!). I don't want ot have to redo all of my audio library, however it would appear that I cannot access it in anyway.
I have tried the driver updates & installing Creative Zen's player, however it will not allow me to due the the fact that I am on Windows 7 it would appear. Can anyone help me out here? I have somewhere else I want to put my music, just can't get it off the old one.

CS2 is completely unsupported under Vista and 64 bits adds more problems.
Best advice is to upgrade. CS5 will be shipping soon.

  • HELP! Can Creative build a Windows Vista driver for my Nomad Zen USB 2.0

Hi there,?I just upgraded my operating system to the Windows Vista 34-bit thinking that I would actually be keeping up with the times but instead found myself leaving behind some old "toys" that no longer work with this computer...help!?Fingers crossed that Creative will come up with a solution to this problem. I love my NOMAD!?Thanks.

It's multi-voltage (00-240V), so the voltage is not an issue. All you need is the plug adapter, as you mention.

  • IPod is not recognized by Windows Vista - possible solution

During the past couple of weeks that I faced this problem I found out that a lot of people had the same question as I did.
    Here is a possible solution.
I have HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista. After I connected my new iPod – it didn’t show up in My Computer as a new device and in Device Manager it was listed in “Other devices” with a question mark next to it. I already had iTunes installed – it didn’t show up in iTunes. On the attempt to reinstall the driver I had a message that the driver was found but an error occurred while installing it.
    Here is what I did:
    1. Install iTunes (it has iPod driver for Vista in it).
    2. Turn on iPod and connect it to computer.
    3. Restart computer with iPod turned on and connected to computer.
    4. On the start up the computer will begin automatically installing the driver and the message will appear in the corner that new device is being installed.
    5. After it has been installed – check My Computer – you should see it listed there.
    6. Run iTunes and configure iPod.
iTunes might run a little bit slow when configuring iPod for the first time.
    Good luck.

if only this fix worked for windows xp or even 2000 (at my job)
insane, but it IS a driver/usb problem i now know, at least i've gotten that far.

  • Is Creative Zen Vision:M Vista compitab

I know that some mp3 players don't work with Windows Vista (or at least you have to update the firmware using a pc with XP). is zen vision:M (http://creative.com/products/product...24&product=433) designed for Vista?
i need to buy a new mp3 player and i'm gonna buy this one if there is no problem transfering songs to it using vista.Message Edited by MyNameIsLars on 09-23-200702:07 AM

I didn't have to, but I bought brand-new, second-hand players or old stock may not have the up-to-date firmware. All ZVMs should work with Vista nati'vely as they're MTP devices, so it shouldn't matter what firmware version you're running. If you find that you are running an old firmware version, it's relati'vely straight forward to up-date it.

  • Zen micro windows vista dri

my zen is up-to-date firmware 2.2.02?connect it to windows vista 32 bits and windows says it can not find driver?why does this appens since creative says that zen micro is vista compatible.. thanks

    electric_abacus,
Unfortunately there is little I can advise in that case, you will need to update to that firmware from an XP machine. Could you do this on a friend or relati've's PC? Or a PC in work/college/school?
    rhonjay,
If you select your product in the list, and choose XP as your Operating System, it'll show you the available files. The latest PlaysForSure / MTP-compatible firmware update for the Zen Micro is filename ZenMicroP4S_PCFW_L6_2_2_02.exe
You can enter that filename on the Downloads page search, and it'll bring you right to it.

Am writing to ask if anyone has managed to put caratulas of albunes in?the new zen of?creative. In media explorer can make?this but as I get windows vista not to visualize folders as "albums" (what goes typical: large icons, small ...) and therefore does not leave the site where it adds a Zen caratula.i have a zen vision m and its the same.Anybody knows how to bring up the option "View" mode "album" in windows vista or know of any program that can be used to put covers? Thank you all.sorry for my english im from spain

Im not really understanding what your are saying but maybe the file you are trying to put onto your Creative is copyright protected, this means that you might have to download the rights to it before you can move it to your Creative

I agree, Vista is a disappointing product, considering the time MicroSoft had to work on it. :|
I hope that they'll release a Service Pack soon to address their lack of legacy device support.

  • Creative Zen Sleek Photo Firmware Download does not recognize my pla

My Creative Zen Sleek Photo recently froze up. After restarting it, the "firmware problem" screen popped up. After reading up on it a bit, I decided to first clean, then reformat, and then reload the firmware. Everything went smoothly until I went to load the firmware back onto my Zen.
For whatever reason a screen pops up that says that my device is not connected to the computer, when it, in fact, is. I have tried several things including uninstalling Windows Media Player and repeatedly cleaning and reformatting in hopes that it would recognize it.
I have had no prior problems with the computer recognizing the device and I have loaded quite a bit of music onto it through this computer. Can anyone please help? Any more ideas? Anything will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks?

HelloHave a look at this thread http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?t=6328?I had a similar problem with a Zen Sleek Photo and I am sure that this was the thread I used to recover the player when a firmware upgrade failed. Regards?

  • Audigy2 ZS with Beta Driver (11 Aug 20060) in Windows Vista RC1 does not w

I recently updated my Windows Vista to RC build 5600 (32 bit) and although my driver seems to load properly, windows does not recognize my Audigy2 ZS sound card. I had Vista build 5536 and everything worked perfect...clear sounds, no errors, etc, but with Vista RC, the sound card does not work at all. I have dual boot, and when I boot back to XP, my sound card works good.
I've tried loading the drivers in safe mode.
Any suggestions, or will Creative be releasing a new beta build?
I know that as part of beta testing, these issues come up, but if anyone has gotten their drivers or Audigy2 ZS to work, I could use some guidance and suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi to all,
I want to make some corrections about the test with BF2. I noticed that even with hardware as the only solution Ultra or less I have only 2. speaker sounds. I played the demo Flight Simulator X and worked well. I have 2. sounds on the speakers when I set up to 7.. When I changed to 5., I did have 5. sounds on the speakers. BF2 graphics are good. However, it sounds that the current Creative drivers are not fully compatible with BF2. It seems to be ok with Flight Simulator X demo. This game is made for Vista. I think that can be one of the reasons. I have not checked any other games. As Creative said, the drivers are not good for 6. or better. I think by January 2007, they will be all right. It would be worse no sound at all.
    Take care all,
    Medico
