Creative Zen Album Track Listing Lim

Is there a 0 track limit for albums? I just added a new album to it and it only accepted 0 tracks (there are 2). Then it made another file to put the other 2 tracks.

No, I don't think there is any such limit with that model either. How many albums do you have on there? Is this happening with every relevant album?
edit: I might know what the problem is. It reads ID3 tags, so if those other two files have a different artist listed or name variation then it will be placed in a different area.Message Edited by ssjmichael on 05-06-2006 03:24 PM

Creative ZEN, Albums fused, does not sort albums correctly!
I attach my Creative Zen to my computer true USB,
I manually copy Albums to my creative zen.
If i view my (ZEN) folder in Windows XP, everything looks great and sorted!
I safely remove my ZEN player from my computer,.
    The ZEN rebuilds his data.
I go and view albums, and what do i see each time! over and over again!
Albums fused together, albums scattered true each other, MOST albums got different names then in windows XP!
I get really frustrated from this! how can i make this right!
I want the ZEN to show the albums like in WINDOWS XP! how hard can this be!!!
Thanks for the help in advance!
    Greetz!

    Hi,
The Creative ZEN organizes songs according to the ID3tag of the music file, not by folders. If you want to arrange the music files in the order you want, please check and make sure that the music files are tagged properly. You may need a third-party tag editor to do this.

  • Can 'track list' button show your playlist rather than album track list?

    Hi all
My 3GS iPhone has my music on it in the form of whole albums which live in individual playlists on my Mac, but I also have playlist 'mixes' which I've created from various songs from multiple albums.
When selecting to play a 'mixed' playlist on my iPhone I tap on it, tap the first song to start the music playing, but then if I tap the top right 'track list' button, instead of showing all the tracks in my created playlist it just shows the entire album tracks from where this particular song has come from. Visually I prefer the 'track list' screen but it seems I can't use it if I'm playing a 'mixed' playlist. Is there any way around this?
Also, this is the same if I have a double CD album: once I hit the 'track list' button it shows just CD 1 (or 2 if I'm further down the play list of course), rather than all the tracks even though on they all live in one single playlist on my iTunes. I've even taken the starts of the track names off (some of them start with '1_01 Song Title' for example) when importing them into iTunes to see if that helps but it doesn't: the iPhone KNOWS how that track was originally supplied!
Any help or clarification on this would be very helpful!

sadly, that kind of customization is only easily doable on a computer. the iPhone and it's core apps can not be changed by users. you can request the feature be put in, but unless there are a LOT of requests, you shouldn't get your hopes up as there are a lot of these kinds of requests, and by implementing it, how many other users would be angry and demand it be changed back? http://www.apple.com/feedback/
if you are playing a song that you selected in a playlist, you should be able to hit the 'back' button in the top left to go back to the playlist and view your songs in the playlist.
in regards to the 'cd 1 of 2' thing, you will need to change your song info to get this to show in the format you want. to see the song info, select a song and go to 'file -> get info'. that will show you all of the ID3 tag information, which you can edit to do whatever you want.

  • Some of my albums track lists are incorrect in my iPod

I've noticed this problem with my iPod probably a week or so after I bought it. It is a brand new 80 gb iPod. What is happening is that a few of my albums on my iPod list the tracks incorrectly. I've noticed this happening with about a dozen of my albums. The track numbering is correct in the iTunes, but for some reason the tracks are just wrong in the iPod. I've double checked to make sure that every track number is correct, and it is. What makes it worse is that I'm one of those kids who enjoy albums from start to finish, in correct order.
I was wondering if this is a common occurance, or just some rare bug that I happened to slip onto. I am considering restoring my iPod to the factory default settings. But I know there must be some other way to resolve this without doing that (it takes about 10 hours just to put all of my music on my iPod in one transfer). Thank you in advance.
    Presario 2100   Windows XP

I figured this out on my own just know. I cleared out all of the comments on the tracks, and now the albums list the tracks in correct order. Also if you come across this thread with the same problem, this link is a good place for more help.

  • Printing up a Artist-Album-Track List from a folder?

Is there a way to print up a list with this information so that I can see what I have?
I'm basically wanting to get all of my music into Lossless format and want to get rid of all mp3's and I want to compare the two folders in a list.

    Hey,
If you already have all the media in iTunes...
First option I would suggest is a "Smart Playlist" in iTunes that shows all Apple Lossless tracks. Using a smart playlist will keep it updated as you reimport music in the lossless format.
    File > New Smart Playlist
    Match The Following Rule Checked
    Kind Contains "Lossless"
Another option is to use the iTunes > Print option
First switch to "List View" and "sort by Artist" so that all Artists/Albums are lumped together.
Next, right click on the Horizontal Nav Bar in iTunes and click "Kind"
Drag Kind over to the Far Left so that it is easily visible.
Go to File > Print > Song List > Custom
This will print the current view you have in iTunes, so you will get a long list of songs with the media kind on the far left. You can either print this or save it to a PDF, which requires much less ink/paper.

  • Sleek and Zen Media Explorer Track Listing Order.

    Hey all,
Been lovin' my Sleek for the last 2 months with just one, minor, issue; today I got a little frustrated so I'm here to ask you about it.
Normally I rip CDs using the Creative Media Organizer and then use the Zen Media Explorer to "import" and add the new songs to my playlist. Unfortunately in the ZM "Edit Playlists" window, the upper left window (titled "Creative Zen Sleek") has a list of folders by artist, where I would much prefer to list folders by album name.
For example I might see Beatles in the "B" section, but then a different album might have been listed as "The Beatles" so it's in the "T" section. A lot of my albums are compilations with many different artists playing songs I'm not totally familiar with (jazz for example) and when I see a name I have no idea what song it refers to.
Is there a way to change that Manage Playlists window so it displays the album name instead of the artist name? I've tried looking in settings, etc., but nothing obvious leaps out at me.
    <IMG src="http://www.us-picks.com/zenplaylists.jpg">
Please don't tell me to use Windows Media Player to do the transfers; it's counterintuiti've to me and takes longer.
    Thank you,
    D.

I think the folder structure you're seeing in ZME (\"Music"\artist name\album name\tracks) is part of how Microsoft organizes MTP-type players (including all US Sleeks); I have the same structure in my 2.x-firmware Micro. There's no way to change that.
I think micromouse's solution (use MediaSource for transfers as well as rips) is the best; MediaSource has its own library database and may not be constrained by Microsoft's folder structure. (The internal library in Creative's MTP-type players isn't constrained by the folder structure either.)

  • Creative Zen 2 Gig displays incorrect album a

My creative Zen 2 G with the current firmware stores incorrect album art for artists that have the same album name such as "Best Of" or "Greatest Hits", The only way around it is to rename all of my greatest hits to something unique such as Rolling Stones Greatest Hits, I have thoousands of these songs tagged that way.
    Any Ideas?

Thanks for the answer and sorry : I didn't see that on faq but your help on line is not very easy to use too !!
It is listed at the top of the forum to read the FAQ before posting. I don't work for Creative though, so am not responsible for the other content.
I don't know why your files aren't working. The theory is that as long as the files are tagged with this, and you are queuing them via the album part of the music library, they will queue in order. If they aren't queuing then there's either some specific bug with the player, or there's something wrong with your files. You might want to try another tagging program to double check that it isn't some issue with the way MP3Tag writes its files, and also make sure to remove the v tag just in case this is causing an issue.

  • My Creative zen x-fi keeps freezing when trying to delete tracks.

AMy Creative zen x-fi keeps freezing when trying to delete tracks.> Hi. Was hoping someone could help me. I brought a creative zen x-fi and half of the times i tried to delete a track or album it would freeze, i'd reset it and the track or album was not deleted. I sent it back and brought a new one however my new one does the same except more, about 8 out of 0 times when i try to delete a track or album it freezes. It doesn't seem to have any problems deleting anything else e.g photos, videos. I looked on the support section of the site and it mentioned that the player could keep freezing if there were corrupted files. Pleae could someone tell me what exactly this mean? (i'm a bit of an amateur when it comes to things like this ) All the music on my player is from ripped cds or what was already on the laptop or player to begin with, so could there be any corrupted files from those?

    Nvm,the cleanup works Thanks man

  • Incomplete track list transfers to Zen X

I have a 30 GB Zen Xtra that I really like, but am having trouble transferring complete track lists to it from my PC. I use the Portable Device Manager in MusicMatch Jukebox 0, which works well with my mp3 library, but large transfers are usually incomplete. I currently have a track list of 3279 tracks built in MusicMatch, but can only get about 2700 over. I find the Creative options for this to be a little awkward for a large library. Does anybody have similar problems?

Thanks. I'm finding more and more stuff that MMJB doesn't do particularly well, but I'm pretty well locked in because of the library. I downloaded their most recent update this morning, and I still have the problem. There are other problems with MMJB 0, and dealing with them is a pain. I may end up doing things the painful way by using the Creative interface options, but they aren't particularly easy to use.

  • ZEN X-FI 32 GB - AAC-Files do not appear in the Album-/Artist-List

    Hi,
I just purchased a ZEN X-FI 32 GB and transferred my library from my PC via Windows Explorer (Vista 64).
All worked fine except one thing:
There are some AAC-Files (files ripped with Itunes - I had an Ipod before), which can be seen on the ZEN in the Windows Explorer,
but they don?t appear in the Album-/Artist-List on the ZEN, so I can't play them.
The files are not copy-protected as I ripped them from my own CDs (not copy-protected either).
What can I do (other than to convert all files - there are many of them...)?
According to the manual and the system-specifications, the ZEN X-FI should play AAC and m4a-files without problems.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.

Unfortunately no one responded, so I give the answer to myself:
I installed Creative Centrale and reloaded the files, now they can be played.
    Conclusion:
You have to use Creative Centrale to use AAC-files. Does anybody have an idea what's that down to?
Creative Centrale is a somewhat "strange" piece of software, as some might have experienced:-)

  • Creative Zen 16GB Album art Probl

When I had finished my uploading my MP3 it started to say : Updating Player Please wait. It was a slow and in the end where it reached 50% I took it out. Seemed fine. But some album songs have been placed with album art which does not belong to them. Any way of fixing this other than removing all the songs and starting again? Or is this a firmware problem?

apparently the new zen only reads album art with resolutions less than 200 x 200 (read this on this forum and is correct with my player (new creative zen 8gb). i have the same issue but followed someone elses advice (also off here) to use free software 'album cover art downloader' and use it to write the art to the tracks (and in settings make it less than 200 x 200).
Used zen media explorer to trf to my player and have full album art. hope this hel
    ps.

  • Losing Track ID when xfering from Computer to Creative Zen X

I have an old Creative Zen Xtra (30 gig). I am running an old version of Creative Media Source (2.0.07). I am using a version of Mp3Tag to create tags for my mp3's. When I use the Import Function, I am getting all my tag info (genre, album, artist and title name). But it is not carrying over my mp3 track number in the tag. All the resultant tag id's come up as zeros (0).
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

thank you micromouse. I found two programs that helped me out.
Media Monkey and Foobar 2000 allow you to write out the proper Mp3's.
thank you for your kind response though

  • Creative Zen Vision M:30Gb freeze problem skipping between tracks

    Hi guys,
I bought my Zen Vision M:30GB 2 years ago. It was a regenerated model by Creative.
I'm fully satisfied of this product, i think the best of his category, but It has this problem since two years...Sometimes when i skip between mp3s (especially in random mode) it freezes and remains on the screen of current mp3, blocked...even I try to touch all buttons it doesn't unblock and i have to reset with a clip in the reset hole.
I've noticed that this problem comes especially when i use random mode of entire library (about 4000 songs) or however with a long playlist...it doesn't happen when i listen a single album (about 20 mp3s in playlist)
    Sincerely i'm a little bored ...
I tried to do some clean and format up by the system menu, but the problem persists...
I've also thinked the problem could be because there are in library mp3 with variant bitrate...or a physical problem (I hope not)
    What do you think of?
    Thanks for help!

Hi, I stopped using this MP3 for about 2 or so years because I bought a new one. I decided to start using it again and downloaded all the required software but as soon as I unplugged the MP3 from the power outlet, the player died. I can't get it to start up without plugging it into a power outlet. I think it has rechargable battery? Why didn't it recharge itself?
My second enquiry is about the capacity of the player. When my player was empty, I went into "Information" and it said Total Space: 28GB and Free Space: 2GB. Why is free space only 2GB? Shouldn't it be 28 as well?
    Thanks in advance!
The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album, picture, track counts? Did you partition part of the dri've for removable storage. • I just bought and downloaded an album.  the album/tracks are NOT found in my music listing alongside every other track i have purchased! however, they are found and playable in the recently added playlist. plz help

i just bought and downloaded an album.  the album/tracks are NOT found in my music library alongside every other track i have purchased! however, they are found and playable in the recently added playlist.  in addition, when using the search queue in the upper right corner, the artist and album is listed when searched for, but when clicked on, nothung happens.  i have downloaded hundreds of tracks with no issue (not a noob), but have no idea what has occurred...plz help

Have you checked whether the songs are in your iTunes library? If they are, then just drag them to your purchased playlist. If they aren't, try checking for available downloads.
If none of the previous work, then get in contact directly with iTunes store support to tell them about your problem.

  • Track List and Grouped Album Art not right

I purchased a 2 disc album from iTunes. I did nothing but click buy. I have not changed any default settings. When viewed under "+view grouped with artwork+", most tracks are separate instead of being grouped together under one album image. There are a few that are grouped together randomly. For example: +track 1 of 16 on Disc 1+ is with +track 1 of 15 on disc 2+, or +tracks 3, 4, 5, & 10 of 15 Disc 2+ are grouped together.
Another problem is with the order of the tracks. When I downloaded to my iPhone, the tracks are out of order. For example: +#16 of disc 2 is now #1+, +#1 of disc 1 is now #17 of 31+.
Finally, The artwork downloaded to my iPhone for most, _but not all_ of the tracks.
What on earth am I doing wrong!?!?
    Thanks for your help

I've since started over from scratch with a 'clean' phone.  Formatted the SD Card, created Music & Videos folders & copied all respective files using a card reader with the PC.
SD Card installed in the phone & when switched on ALL tracks appear in respective artist/album location - only once.
Connecting the phone to the PC to add new albums results in all new albums being detected once BUT with NO artwork (cover image).  Deleting an album results in that being deleted the list available in the 'Music+Videos' App.  Copying the album back results in that being detected BUT with no artwork.
Trawling through the web, I've discovered a brilliant app MPAtool which magically restores the missing artwork. It's not 100% effective as it doesn't necessarily locate all artwork, but these can be found manually either by , locating them in Music or, if that also fails, copy the artwork to 'camera roll' & point MPAtool to that location.
So far, I've had no more duplications & all albums have their respective artwork.
It is also important to ensure that the MP3 tag is 100% correct.  Using Winamp to rip my CDs to MP3, the CDDB imports the information for artist, album, track etc & populates all the necessary locations without error.  However, some earlier MP3 tracks that I have had had erroneous entries which confuse the Windows 8 software.  Also when ripping albums with more than 1 CD, Winamp identified each CD as 1/2 & 2/2 with track numbers 1 - n on each rip which Windows 8 interprets as 2 albums.  I prefer to see all CDs in an album as one & use Tag & Rename to ensure at references to 1/2 & 2/2 are removed & track numbers are changed accordingly.
