Creative zen plus works on one computer but it will not connect to my lap

I am trying to connect my creative zen plus to my laptop. I have been using it on my desktop. When I plus it in, I click open songs/files in folder, and it is as simple is that (I drag my songs into and out of my MP3 player).
I just tried plugging it into my laptop, and nothign happened. I then installed the software. Now, when I plug it into the laptop, I get a "found new hardware" message, but I cannot open up the folder to view the files like I do on my desktop. When I click the zen organizer, it says "device not found." Is there something that I need to install or update? I am sure that there is a way for me to be able to use this on both computers. Thanks for the help!

You need to install the software on the laptop before plugging the player in. Uninstall it then load it up again. If that doesn't work, this is the advice I got and it worked first time out:
. Please connect the player to another USB port. Use the ones on the
back of the computer. Remove all other USB devices. If you have another
computer, please try to test the player on that too.
2. Ensure that you are logged in as Administrator or have Administrator
rights assigned to you on the computer.
3. Check Device Manager and see if the player is detected.
a. Click Start and Control Panel (or Settings then Control Panel)
b. If the Control Panel is being displayed in the Category View (the
option Switch to Classic View should appear in the left pane), click
Performance and Maintenance and System. If the Control Panel is being
displayed in the Classic View (the option Switch to Category View should
appear in the left pane), double-click System
c. Select Hardware and then Device Manager.
Your player should be listed under Windows Portable Devices. Please
check if the computer sees it as a MTP Device.
If there is an error or a yellow exclamation mark next to the device,
right click the player listing and select Update driver.
Alternati'vely, you can uninstall the device, and reinstall it. Highlight
the MTP player listing, and press the Delete key on your keyboard, which
will uninstall the MTP device; click Actions ,and then click Scan for
hardware changes. Windows will install the necessary drivers.
That worked fine for me.
