I have Windows Vista on my PC and iTunes. I can't get the music on my Creasti've Zen Sleek photo. The original software just makes everything crash. Any help?

Like skb said you don't need the Creative software WMPwill sync to the device.

My Creative Zen Sleek Photo recently froze up. After restarting it, the "firmware problem" screen popped up. After reading up on it a bit, I decided to first clean, then reformat, and then reload the firmware. Everything went smoothly until I went to load the firmware back onto my Zen.
For whatever reason a screen pops up that says that my device is not connected to the computer, when it, in fact, is. I have tried several things including uninstalling Windows Media Player and repeatedly cleaning and reformatting in hopes that it would recognize it.
I have had no prior problems with the computer recognizing the device and I have loaded quite a bit of music onto it through this computer. Can anyone please help? Any more ideas? Anything will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks?

You do not need to install the software on the disc. The driver is nati've to the Vista OS. Windows Media Player can Sync to the player rip cds, ect.

I have a Creative Zen Sleek Photo with Napster To Go. I have Windows XP home edition. I can rip a CD to the hard dri've
of the computer and transfer music to the mp3 player, but I am receiving a message when trying to transfer music files
from Napster To Go. The message is the mp3 player will need an update to the firmware to work with Napster To Go.
The Zen Sleek Photo has the latest firmware. I had been able to transfer music from Napster To Go until recently.
Napster support referred me to Creative support but the Sleek Photo is past the warranty. Any help would be appreciated.

I had problems for the first month of my Napster membership (while I was still in the trial period). I nearly went elsewhere, but stayed with it. As soon as the trial period was over, everything worked perfectly. One suggestion is to use the same software for everything. Whether you use Creative media source, Napster's own software or media explorer or any of the others, stick with that one only. Do not give up and go to itunes. What a waste of money!?If you need to reload firmware or try another software, it's worth it.
I also had some issues getting help. Napster said the problem was with Creative and Creative said the problem was with Napster. Don't give up. Can you get ripped songs in?

As far as your problem with connecting, I can't really help you there. It COULD be your computer but I remember someone telling me to use a different USB port than you're already using. If it's plugged into the front of your computer, try using a back port. That worked for me (for a while anyway). Good luck to you two.

Does anyone know how I would download the program for the Zen Sleek Photo so that I could use it on my new computer with microsoft 200. I tried the disk but it gives an error message about not being supported. HELP!!!

Sorry, I don't think the ZEN Sleek Photo is supported. The software that came with it is intended to work in Windows XP.

Creative Zen Sleek Photo isn't being read on compu

I've had the Sleek Photo for over a year and I've never had any problems until now. The other day it worked, but not its not registering on the computer. I plug it in, Creative Explorer pops up (as usual) but it says that there is no player plugged in. My USB port is ok, and I've tried everything on the Zen site that is recommended but to no avail....help?

Exactly the same thing has happened to mine today. I had a fault with uploading two tracks to it last night (not sure why), afterwhich I recoverded the player, used disk clean up and let it rebuild the library. However, some albums are now missing, and the display just says "select music to PLAY from Music Library" even when playing tracks (ie no artist or album info is displayed, just the quoted message)?My Sleek is recognised by windows when I plug it into USB ports, but not by the Creative software.Message Edited by django68 on 0-23-200704:23 AM

Love mine!! Sound quality is awesome. Screen is a little small but you can still view photos nicely.

i am having problems with this thing. works boots up. plays fine, everything is fine but i cant get it to be recognized using usb. i have done everything to downloading service pack and 2 and changing between 3 different computers and formated it, scaned it. did everything i could but it still dont get recognized by any of the firmware or media player 0 or any other software with creative. if i connect it to usb the computer doesnt make a usb connection sound ( dooodooot) on any of the 3 computers. i tried everything. it charges and when i plug the computer to it it boots up, but not of the computers recognize it.please any information would be apreciated. i also have read ALL other posts about this.

also i might add none of the computers recognized it even before i erased the firmware

My son just recently found that his player was stuck in recovery mode. I began helping him out and when I first plugged the player into my laptop, it began to rebuild the library, and everything went back to normal for about day, then went back to being stuck in recovery mode. He wanted to reformat the player so I assisted, that where the second problem started. I downloaded firmware version .0.0, and have been unsuccessful in getting it to finish installing, it gets to what looks like to me about 90% complete, hangs for a bit, then I receive "firmware failed to update" error. I also am unable to see the device in "My Computer" although it says that it is working correctly in "Device Manager" I was using WMP ver., but rolled the version back to ver. 0 to no avail. I'm running windows XP sp2 on my machine. If I could only get the Firmware to load 00%, I think I would be ok. I did notice also that when I try and reload the firmware that it tells me the version is already installed on the player, however in the Rocovery Mode screen it says that the version is v0.0.6 Please help, like I said I think I will be ok if I can only get the firmware to download00% instead of 90%. I don't hear anything funny going on with the HD. Please help I've been racking my brains on this problem for 2 days now, and its driving me crazy!

+ I had the same problem, and after searching for answers for a week found the problem. The hard dri've ribbon had come loose and the device was not communicating with the hard dri've. The good news is that when it was reconnected everything came up just like it was without any reloads or formatting of the disk.. Zen Sleek Photo Installation Wo

Hey guys, I just bought a Creative Zen Sleek Photo MP3 player and i'm having trouble installing the driver. After plugging it in, windows detects the new hardware and goes thru the installation process the driver. At the end it tells me:
"Cannot install this Hardware.
There was a problem installing this hardware.
MTP Device
An error occured during the installation of the device.
The required section was not found in the INF."
There are only two INF files, one located in the root and one within Walmart/Files. I manually directed the installation wizard to both directories but the end result for both is the same. Nothing Happens.
Just wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem or if there is a fix around for this?

Hello, I have had the same problem and had great help when I emailed creative.com. They recommended I uninstalled the software, disabled my broadband and disabled my spamkiller and security packages. Once I had done this I reinstalled and now my player was recognized immediately. This had never happened before. I now can download. Hope this helps Forgot to say also I had to make sure I had windows service pack 2.
