CreativeCloud software requests a serial number

Mac OS X 10.7
I'm a Creative Cloud member, account billed, and I can't seem to use any Adobe software.
I'm using the AdobeCreativeCloudClient to download and install apps (Photoshop & Fireworks CS6 so far). Whenever I start them, they launch into trial mode. When I hit "License this software" it already has me signed in, but wants a serial number.
I was on with Adobe Customer support, who demanded that I uninstall everything I have through Adobe, redownload, and then told me that Creative Cloud has one activation serial number, which he sent me after closing the support case before even making sure it worked.
Well it didn't. The serial number which he insists should activate Creative Cloud, doesn't work. It says:
"We are unable to valudate this serial number for [Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, Adobe Fireworks CS6]. Please contact Customer Support."
This is severely irritating. I was charged two weeks ago, have probably been on with support around four hours, and have gotten nowhere. They just insist that that serial number should work. I depend on this software for my livelihood, and I'm very irritated.
I've been through most of what I can find, changing the language, but I haven't found anything. I never received a "Welcome to Creative Cloud" e-mail. Can anyone help me?

I managed to solve the issue, I think.
Yes, I can access the license site.
I uninstalled every instance of pretty much all Adobe software on my computer, I had to go into Terminal and rather deep into the file structure to manage this, but after a few hours, I managed to get everything out. I also purged all temporary files, internet cache, system cache, trash, et cetera.
I then signed into creative.adobe.com, and downloaded the AdobeCreativeCloudClient again. I signed into it, and downloaded Fireworks.
This time upon launch, it popped up again, and asked me to sign in. It did so without issue, no trial message. I'm rather confused as to why it would make me sign in twice in a row, but I'm definitely not going to complain about it.
I think the issue might have been that my system was automatically using an older version of Adobe Application Manager (not AdobeCreativeCloudClient, like I am now).

  • My CC apps are not validating and Lightroom upgrade is requesting a serial number which is claiming to be invalid

I updated bith Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 yesterday and now they both do not work. Photoshop has been asking for activation  for the last month and I have no connectivity issues on my laptop. Also Lightroom is requesting a serial number which when entered from my Adobe account claims to be unable to validate. This is not good enough as I use both applications for work and soon will not be able to usea service I am paying for. Is there a solution? Has anyone else encountered these problems after upgrade?

  • Request for Serial Number when licensing CS6 package with CC

We're setting up our first batch of CC subscriptions for some new staff and to cater for some upgrades from CS5. However, we need to remain with CS6 likely for the rest of this year to maintain a consistent art pipeline.
If In understand correctly, I can use CCP to create and deploy only CC packages, while I need to use AAMEE to create the CS6 packages. Following: http://www.adobe.com/go/aamee_deploymentguide I created an unserialised, trial mode Flash Professional package and deployed this on a test system. At the same time, I invited a test user to our CC for Team subscription (under the VIP program) and assigned a live Flash Professional subscription to him.
The package deployed successfully (although it took an incredibly long time) and when started < i clicked the 'License this software' button. The user sioged in successfully with his newly created Adobe ID and was then asked for a serial number.  Since this is a CC subscription, I don't have a serial number to give him. I had assumed that the adobe ID was now associated with the license and the serial number would not be required.
How do I get past this stage when deploying this package to users? Is there some undocumented option or modification I need to make to the package?

Just to clarify this for anyone else that's reading:
The client-side AME is installed automatically with CS6 applications. It is this component that is failing to validate my CC subscription, causing the application to fall back to requesting a serial number.
After a telephone call with Abhijit, we discovered that installing the standalone CC desktop application, either before or after the CS6 package, allowed the subscription to be validated and the software activated. It seems like there's a significant bug there, or at least a lack of consideration for the possibility that clients might not have CCD installed. The workaround is just about satisfactory for my environment, but I think this could still cause trouble in some larger or educational setups.
A useful tip: The CCD installer downloadable here: https://ccmdls.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KCCC/1/win32/CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe supports the same command line switches as msiexec, so although it's not readily deployable as an MSI, it does allow for unattended installation.

  • To request my serial number for Adobe After Effects to upgrade to 64bit system

I have AE cs6 and I need to upgrade to 64bit system.
How and where to request my serial number for Adobe After Effects to upgrade to a compatible 64-bit operating system? (because no customer service answered me)

    I don't understand your problem.
After Effects CS6 runs on 64 bit systems.  You use the same serial number you use on a 32 bit system.
If you want to upgrade to the CC subscription version, you can do so on the Adobe website.
What do you mean that no customer service answered you?  Did you speak to Adobe Support?  What did they say?

  • Aperture is requesting a serial number, then won't take it.

All of sudden the application is requesting a serial number, when I type it in, I get a dialogue box indicating it is not valid. Any clue on what's happening?
This has just started after having my MacBook in for repair.

Look at this Troubleshooting Professional Application Serial Numbers
If that doesn't help go to /Library/Application Support/ProApps and look for a ProAppsSystemID file. Drag that to the desktop, restart Aperture and enter the serial number.
Post back if either of those two don't fix the problem.

If you just need a copy of the software, then download the trial copy of Lr available from Adobe. On entering your serial number it will then become a full copy.

  • Trial has expired and the Application Manager is now requesting a Serial Number. I have paid my subscription but don't seem to have a serial number.

I signed up to Creative Cloud Student, 6 weeks ago and started paying my monthly subscription immediately. When I downloaded the software (photoshop, indesign and illustrator), they appeared as trials.
The trials have now expired and I can no longer access the software. Adobe Application managed opens asking me to License the Software which requires a serial number.
I have looked through my emails from adobe and my adobe account online and cannot find a serial number anywhere.

CC  mostly asks for serial number if:
    1. There is no CC registered to the ID with which you had signed.
    2. There are entries of Adobe in Host files of the computer.
    3. The activation count has increased.
If the CC is asking for serial number, please follow the steps in Re: Invalid serial number?
You just need to activate the Cc with the Adobe ID with which it has been registered.
    Please refer to:

  • Purchased the software but the serial number provided is invalid

After using a trial version of elements 13 for Mac I purchased the software but received an invalid serial number

Probably it is a redemption code and not a valid serial number.  See this link and read the entire page:
    <Redemption Code Help>
    Good luck.

  • Repeated requests for serial number.

I have an annoying problem. Every time I start Lightroom I'm asked for my serial number. I originally purchased Lightroom 1 in 2007, and upgraded to version 2 in 2008. I am the original purchaser/owner of the software, and both serial numbers are valid, and registered to me. However, every time I start Lightroom I have to go through the process of entering both my serial numbers. Short of uninstalling and reinstalling the software, any thoughts?
    Thanks for your help.

What OS?  You don't say if you've had this problem since 1.x in 2007 or it's
just started happening and what might be different, now, since the problem
    began.
Someone may chime in with more specific information, but a general thing
that could be a problem permissions, either to some file or registry entry
that records the fact you're registered.  Are you logged in as an
Administrator-level user?  If on Vista or Win 7 you can set the shortcut to
Run as Administrator in the Advanced Properties.  If those don't work, then
I'd try an uninstall/reinstall.  Make sure you note where your catalog is so
you can point to it, again, if the location doesn't get picked up
    automatically.

  • I want to try the trial software but the serial number they emailed me Aperture said is invalid.

I tried a few times. Getting a hold of anyone to send me a valid serial number to try this software is practically impossible. What do I do?

Usually that kind of error is due to typos caused by easily mixed-up characters or "shift lock" locked and wrong capitalization; check for similar characters, like "1" and "I", or "l"; or "O" and "0". The safest way to enter the serial correctly is by copying it from the mail and pasting it directly into the password field.

  • Creative Cloud is requesting a serial number

I have been using my Adobe CC for two months without any problems now it is telling me license the software by entering a serial number? But I am already a student member?

    Hi mmu0023,
I would suggest you to log out and log back in to the 'Adobe creative cloud' from preferences.
If this doesnt work then check the 'hosts' file
    Location of 'Hosts' file
In Windows :-- C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts Open it using 'Notepad'
In Mac :-- Open Finder window --->on the top click on 'Go' ---> click on 'Go to folder' ---> type '/etc' ---> open hosts file with textedit.
If you see any Adobe entries in the hosts file simply delete all those entries and then save the file.
Now launch the software ---> click on license this software ---sign in
    Thanks
    Kapil

  • I downloaded and paid for a Adobe PDF Pack and received my invoice and order number, but my computer request a serial number. How do i get a serial number

I need assistance with my Adobe PDF Pack serial number

PDF Pack does not have a serial number. And you do not install it.
You just sign in and start using it.
So your problem leads me to think you may be trying to install something entirely different - perhaps Acrobat Pro.

  • I downloaded Aperture 3 for a 30 day trial and they request a serial number.  None provided

Downloaded 30 day trial but no serial number was supplied, and it is required to complete download to applications.

The serial number is emailed to you usually before the download is completed. Make sure the email didn't wind up being eaten by your  spam filter.
Over the past few months there have been numerous reported delays in getting the serial number. The only recourse seems to be to try again and hope for the best.

  • Paid for After Effects but still on trial version requesting for serial number

Hi there! I tried to install my subscription of After Effects. I have received an email receipt that my payment is successful. However my After Effects is still on trial version and it kept asking for a serial number. How can I activate my product?
