    Hi All,
After 3 days trying to install / update latest drivers on my X200/ Windows 7 / 32b, it seems now that my F3507g is now installed correctly…
I can go the a connection over internet and ping some servers BUT when I initiate my Cisco Vpn, ( working perfectly with my Ethernet connection and my Wifi 5300 AGN ) the connection is ok but no incoming or outgoing traffic !!!
Any idea on how to solve that issue ?

Yes, this is a problem with the IPSEC VPN NDIS driver binding your Mobile Broadband driver. You need to read this article and it is explains why and how to work around this issue:

  • Time Capsule Occassionally Reboots During Cisco VPN Sessions

I have a Time Capsule and an AirPort Extreme Base Station in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS) configuration at my home. The Time Capsule is connected to the DSL Modem. The devices work without issue the vast majority of the time.
However, I have noticed that occassionally, and seemingly randomly, my Time Capsule will reboot whenever I have a Windows desktop client Cisco VPN session established through the device and back to my workplace's remote access VPN concentrators. It occurs often enough for me to correlate it with the VPN sessions, but not often enough that I can create the steps to reproduce the failure. However, ancedotally, I would say that it occurs about once for every 2 hours or so of actual VPN useage (not that I'm saying it's time or duration based, but rather to give some scale to the occurance). It is very annoying as I have to wait for the Time Capsule to reboot, for my wireless connectivity to re-establish, and thereafter to re-establish the VPN session and any further office connectivity (ie, exchange, filesshares, sharepoint, etc.).
I was curious if anyone else has experienced this problem, as I didn't readily find any other comments on the discussions forums. I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't confirm exact revisions, but this problem occurred both with the prior firmware as well as the most recent firmware which was just upgraded on the device in the past few weeks (I was hoping the new firmware might have resolved the issue, but it apparently did not).

    two suggestions:
    1) make sure the firmware is current
    2) can you disable WDS temporarily to see if it's WDS related?

  • CISCO VPN - MacBook works / MacPro doesn't work

    Very frustrating situation.
I have a 2.66 Xeon Intel Mac Pro
    I have a Intel MacBook
Cisco VPN client 4.9.01 (0030) on both.
Import the file my IT guy gave me for all the settings. Same deal on both machines.
BOTH connect to the VPN - it shows connected in the status bar of the VPN client anyway.
NOW - the frustration - try to connect to the server on the laptop -
Using Go / Connect To Server - Brings up the proper dialog box to authenticate (first time anyway) and the list of shares. Select the share I want, BINGO, I'm in. I can keep adding all the shares, no problem. (still haven't used Automator to do this for me automatically)
Using Go/ Connect To Server on the MacPro - I get an error message with the option to cancel or Try Again Later. Sometimes it hangs longer than others before getting the error message. I also notice all internet connectivity is lost.
It APPEARS that the MacPro is blocking everything. I have recently installed Boot Camp, then installed VMWare Fusion 1.0 and Windows XP Home SP2. I've heard that there was an issue with CISCO VPN and Parallelis - I wonder if it's a similar situation?
PLEASE HELP ME - My IT guy is PC only and doesn't know squat! I know even less!
I'd pay ya to get this working!

WOW, this is making me hate my computer right now. Soooo, against my better judgment I decide to update to 10.5 and be a guinea pig.
The FIRST thing I try on the update is VPN access. HOLY CRAPOLA, it works. Connects to the server just fine, lets me pick my share. Viola, I'm IN.
Download and upload a few files to test, works perfectly.
Do a few other things to test. Looks good.
NOW, I install the updates, didn't even really look at them, just ran software update.
Restart computer. It doesn't remember my wireless network after the updates (it did on the install of 10.5)???
Enter the network name (it's hidden) enter password. Done, get online no problem.
Check VPN again, same problems as before the update to 10.5
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I want to throw it out the window.
PLEASE HELP ME? How do you find a MAC IT guy to come on site and help? I'm over trying to fix it myself.
FWIW, the laptop still connects to VPN perfectly after the 10.5 update.

  • Windows 8 Cisco VPN Client Issue

I connect to several of my customers with the Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.07.0290 and all has been working fine. In the last week, virtually every Windows 8 machine has stopped working. The client connects fine, shows it's connected, but if I go to Status -> Statistics it just shows 0 in the Bytes Received and Sent. The Bypassed and Discarded increases, but I am unable to reach any system. Does anyone know what causes this or how to resolve it? This is a HUGE problem for me as all of the work we do for our customers is via their VPNs. Every non-Windows 8 PC still works fine. And these Windows 8 PCs have been working fine until just the last week. Browsing through, I've seen posts with this same issue, but none related to Windows 8 recently. They are all Windows 7, and my Windows 7 machines are working flawlessly.
    Someone help!
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
IPSEC client on Windows 8 machine is not supported.
Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07 supports the following Microsoft OSs:
    •Windows 7 on x64 (64-bit)
    •Windows 7 on x86 (32-bit) only
    •Windows Vista on both x86 (32-bit) and x64
    •Windows XP on x86
VPN Client does not support the Tablet PC 2004/2005; and Windows 2000, NT, 98, and ME.
VPN Client supports smart card authentication on Windows 7, Vista, and  XP. However, VPN Client does not support the ST Microelectronics smart  card Model ST23YL80, and smart cards from the same family.
VPN Client supports up to one Ethernet adapter and one PPP adapter. It  does not support the establishment of a VPN connection over a tethered  link.
VPN Client 5.0.x is incompatible with the combination of Cisco Unified  Video Advantage 2.1.2 and McAfee HIPS Patch 4 Build 688. To avoid system  failures, uninstall either of these two applications, upgrade McAfee to  the latest version, or use VPN Client 4.6.x.
To install the VPN Client, you need
    •Pentium®-class processor or greater
•Microsoft TCP/IP installed. (Confirm via Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Protocols or Configuration.)
    •50 MB hard disk space.
    •128 MB RAM
    (256 MB recommended)
    •Administrator privileges
The VPN Client supports the following Cisco VPN devices:
•Cisco Series 5500 Adaptive Security Appliance, Version 7.0 or later.
•Cisco VPN 3000 Series Concentrator, Version 3.0 or later.
•Cisco PIX Firewall, Version 6.2.2(122) or Version 6.3(1).
•Cisco IOS Routers, Version 12.2(8)T or later.

  • Unable to install Cisco VPN Client on Windows 7

    Hello,
After a successfull uninstallation of Cisco VPN version 4. I try to install Cisco VPN Client version 5.0.07.0290.
But after launching vpnclient_setup.msi, the wizard is starting. When I click on Next button, I have the following message: "installation ended prematurely because of an error".
In attachment, I add the details of the error find in the windows logs (logError.txt) and the logs generated from MSI installer in verbose mode (log2.txt).
My computer is a lenovo W500 with Windows 7 64 bits and 4 GB of memory (compliant with the Cisco VPN Client requirements).
I have administrator privileges on this computer.
    Please help me !
I need to use it to connect to my company network.
    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
Using Shrew VPN is a workaround more than a solution / answer to this issue.
You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:

  • Cisco VPN Client after Windows Vista Update (KB941229)

I had the Cisco VPN client 5 installed on my laptop and configured by the IT department at work. It was working fine all day until I restarted and KB941229 was automatically installed. When it turned back on the Cisco VPN service (CVPND) would attempt to run then stop. If I started it manually it would run for about a minute then stop again. Without the service running the VPN client won't open, let alone let me connect.
I know this vista update is fairly recent so I'm not sure there will be a fix but maybe somebody can think of a workaround or some way to fix this situation.
    Things I've tried:
    1) Uninstalling the windows update
    2) restarting
    3) restarting (in denial that this was happening)
    4) configuring a vista VPN connection to attempt to connect to the company VPN (this failed too)
Uninstalling the update caused me to be unable to ping for some reason. This meant the VPN client would run but be unable to connect to the server and yet I was entirely able to access the internet locally. I reinstalled the update assuming maybe the installation went badly but that caused the same problem with the VPN service stopping itself (or being stopped) after a minute.

    Hello
    my issue has been resolved.
there is a service called Base Filtering Services running in background for Vista and has to disabled to make IP Sec VPN Client working.
after doing so it works smoothly.

  • Cisco VPN Client installation freezes on Windows 7

    Hello,
I am in need of some help installing the Cisco VPN Client on a Windows 7 workstation.
    Here are some details:
    Cisco VPN Client Version: 5.0.07.0410
Operation System: Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise, 32-bit, version 6.1, build 7600
PC Hardware: IBM Thinkpad T42, Type 2373-7WE
    Issue Description:
I attempted to install the Cisco VPN Client on the computer with the local administrator account in Windows 7. The computer was given a clean installation of Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise (Existing HDD partitions were deleted and formatted). After the OS installation, I installed the network driver via Windows Update, and proceeded to run the installation for the Cisco VPN Client. The installation apears to proceed smoothly until the installation progress indicator reaches the point where it states that it is installing the "Deterministic Network Enhancer." Shortly reaching this point, the Windows CPU Usage monitor reaches 100% and the operating system freezes.
I have tried the following actions, which failed to successfully install the software:
    a) Installing Cisco VPN Client 5.0.00.0340 produced the same problem.
    b) Reformatted the hard drive, installed Windows 7, and tried to install the Cisco VPN Client again, but failed.
    c) Used Windows 7 System Restore to restore OS state prior to the installation of the Cisco VPN Client. Then, ran Citrix's winfix.exe tool. After that, I ran Citrix's dneupdate.msi program for 32-bit Windows operating systems, but that also crashed the OS mid-way through the installation/update.
    d) This URL from Citrix (http://www.citrix.com/lang/English/lp/lp_1680845.asp) suggested changing a Windows registry key, then try re-installing the Cisco VPN Client. However, that did not work.
I am at a loss as to how to resolve this issue. If anyone can provide some suggestions or a solution to this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Regards,
    Samson

    - Upgrade to Windows 8.1 stopped the VPN client working
    - Refreshed system back to Windows 8 and reinstalled all software
    - Cisco VPN client would not install on system
    - Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client installs and is able to connect to VPN host

    - Data transmission software returns error code #10060
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

anyone found the fix for this?

  • Windows 8 and IPSec VPN issues

I have a number of customers that leverage the Cisco IPSec VPN. I can connect to the VPN without any problems but when I attempt to RDP, that fails. I have no RDP or ping or anything. Here are some more symptoms of the issues that I find odd:
    Anyconnect works just fine
    Fortinet VPN clients work fine
    Sonicwall VPN clients work fine
Cisco IPSec VPN client is the only one affected
Cisco IPSec VPN client worked fine for months then just decided it was no longer going to allow RDP or ping
I have duplicated this issue on a half dozen or so laptops
This is on a Windows 8 laptop but I believe I have also experienced this on Windows 7
Just to clarify, the IPSec VPN does succesfully connect. But nothing else works after that. I do understand that AnyConnect is the direction that Cisco would like for people to move towards. Unfortunately, I have quite a few customers that are leveraging the IPSec VPN. I have been through a number of laptops in the last year and every single laptop had a working Cisco IPSec VPN for months....then one day it would just stop passing RDP.
Please somebody tell me that there is a workaround for this. I have played with the IP settings for the Cisco Systems virtual adapter in my network and sharing center. I've modified the binding order. I've compared a routeprint from a working laptop to mine....I'm not sure what else to do. I've uninstalled ALL VPN software and only reinstalled the Cisco VPN. So far the ONLY fix I have found is a clean install of Windows and that solution sucks.

Doing a little more homework on this and I noticed that the tunnel details show no bytes sent or recieved and no packets encrypted, decrypted, or discarded....everything is bypassed.  My coworker (who is on Windows 7) is able to launch this VPN and connect to the customer's servers without issues and the tunnel details show all of the appropriate data.

  • Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7

    Hi,
I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290.  These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed.  The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working.  Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful.  Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly.  This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client.  I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
    Cheers,
    James

You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
    MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
(Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.)
