Credit Card is Declined

I've been having a problem for the past few days. Every time I try to make a purchase, my credit card is declined. I have used this credit card for purchases for years. I spoke to my bank and there is no reason for the card to be declined. I have tried using other cards and even Pay Pal. Itunes is declining all methods of payment for my account. I sent in an inquiry using itunes support and have heard nothing. Is there a number to call to solve this?

Having the same issue and I'm annoyed. I've been an iPod owner for about a week now and I'm having these problems. This isn't a very good way to start off my Apple Experience...
The best part? I'm not trying to use a credit card. I'm using my PayPal account. The same one I used to buy a ton of apps and it just stopped working and telling me that my credit card is declined. It's not a credit card!!
Emailed support and this was my reply:
"I understand that you are facing difficulty in making purchases using your Paypal account. I am sure this can be frustrating and I am sorry for the inconvience. Rest assured, I will do my best to resolve this issue for you as soon as possible.
Joe, finding a solution for you is important to me, so I have requested assistance with the issue you reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible."
That was a day and a half ago. Still no update, but probably because it's the weekend.
Gotta admit, I was always an Apple skeptic, but I really thought that was going to change as I'm actually very impressed with the iPod Touch I got. iTunes and support so far? Not impressed. Quite annoyed. I was almost ready to drop my Droid and look at an iPhone, but I think I'll stick with what I've got if I can't get some damned help soon...

    If it's a credit card (I don't think that debit cards are still accepted) then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ?     Are you in the US with a US billing address and iTunes account ? All iTunes gift cards are country-specific, they can only be redeemed and used in the country in which they were issued, so US gift cards can only be used in the US.

  • Cards App: Credit Card(s) Declined Every Time

    This is frustrating.  I'm trying to give Apple my $2.99 and the Cards App just keeps saying credit card declined.  I did succesfully order a card from it on Thursday 10/13/11.
    I know that my card is good.  I have ensured that it is the same card that in under Store in the Settings App on my iPhone and under Store>View My Account inside of iTunes on my Mac. 
    I switched it up from a MasterCard to a Visa to a AMEX and all get the same result after the CVV code is entered...Credit Card Is Declined.
    What's even more frustrating is that I can use PayPal as my source of funds on iTunes on my Mac, but not on my iPhone.  When I switched to PayPal (thinking that might solve it) and tried to place the Card order it asked me for the CVV Code (what a CVV code for PayPal).  When I went to the Store Setting on my iPhone it says that PayPal is not authorized to be used the mobile device.
    What's up Apple.  Life with you used to be easy and hassle free.  Now there are a lot more headaches.
    Please fix the billing process in your Cards App Apple.  It should be exactly the same as purchasing an App from your App Store....Which you still let me do.

    I entered my credit card info in iTunes; Store > View My Account and verified that the same credit card appeared when I checked on my iPhone; Settings > Store > Apple ID: > View Apple ID
    The only thing I noticed this time is that Apple does not have a field for a middle initial on the billing address for your credit card.  So when @Starv mentions make sure that the billing address is exactly the same...it appears that this may be impossible if your billing address uses a middle initial.  Unless I just add my middle initial in the first name field?

    I placed my order for a macbook air on Friday night so there wasn't any progress as it is the weekend now. I decided to opt for another model so cancelled it. I received the cancellation confirmation email. I then placed another order but the credit card gets declined?? The replaced order is cheaper in price so fund availability is not the problem. It says the credit card won't be charged from the first order and that it would be charged on shipment too. So why is my card getting declined? Did Apple lock the amount of the fund from the first order on my credit card and I'm yet to get that fund back as it is the weekend?

    You need to contact the Apple Store, or look at the Help section there. This forum is discussion regarding the use of, instead of purchase of a MBA. Sorry and good luck!

    Is your card a debit card?  I don't believe debit cards can be used.  Try a credit card.
