I just got a new itouch today, and tried downloading an app. it asked me to fill in my account info, including my payment method. First it said the security code was wrong, which it wasnt, then, it started telling me "Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable."
I just read that this has lasted a few days for some people. What can i di?

i get the same message. started initially when it said my zip code didn't match my area or something like that, and told me that "verification [is] required" before i can make purchases and that i had to sign in to verify my payment info.
which is what i did. same cc# i've been using the last few years. nothing changed. but i go thru the process of "verifying" by making sure all the info is correct and hit submit and then i get this message: "Credit card processing temporarily unavailable, try again later" or something similar. i've been getting that message for 4 days!!! so frustrating.
i tried deleting cookies, rebooting, doing it from my iphone, doing it from my desktop (which is the only authorized computer), updated itunes, updated the iOS... no dice, no nuthin. searched thru these forums and didn't find a solution, just a couple of threads like this one with no answers.

I;ve done holding both buttons as you sugested, but there is no signal appearing.
I am in Uruguay, South America and the original company is Movistar ( Telefonica) and the new sim card is from ANTEL ( the officail and biggest company in my country).

Yesterday I went through the necessary steps to download the 29.99 plan as I am a former user. I clicked on download and I got an acrobat workspace with Icons and options. I didn't have clue what this was about but I expectee a credit card purchase area

clicked onto download software. I got an Acrobat workspace with icons I don’t understand. Also a informative warning that all files will be deleted on jan such 2015. I thought I had purchased a 1 year program
I have not seen any progress bar indicating software being

Credit card purchasing unavailable.

For several days every time I try to buy a song or movie I get a window that says credit card purchasing is temprorarily unavailable. Try to make your purchase later. iTunes store is unable to process purchases at this time.
What is happening? Is anyone else experiencing this problem? It has been about four days now.

Credit card purchasing/ error 502

for the past week when i try to buy a video in the itunes music store it either comes up with the message credit card purchasing is temporarilly unavailable or error 502 your request cannot be processed can anyone tell me how to fix this

As of today I'm still getting the "temporarily unavailable" response, even though tech support said the credit payment problem was resolved. I find it particularly perplexing when merchants refuse to take my money. Oh well, good thing I live in a capitalist society, plenty of alternatives to choose from

I was having this exact issue when I was set up to use PayPal as my payment method. I fixed it by -
1. going to my iTunes account and selecting None as my method of payment, then clicking Done
2. confirming this on my account page - which then said Add (or Set up, I can't remember) a Credit Card
3. on the Add a credit card page, I again set up the exact same PayPal account I had before.
4. I was then taken to the PayPal website to confirm that I wanted to use my PayPal account for iTunes purchases, and finally
5. I was taken back to my account page in iTunes, which looked exactly the same as before BUT...
The next time I tried it, my purchase went straight through! (And this was less than 5 minutes after I'd had the "Credit Card processing is temporarily unavailable" message.)
YMMV, but I guess a similar revalidation process would work for credit cards too.

I suspect that I know what's going on here. Here's what I suspect happened and how it finally worked today.
1. A few weeks ago I purchased some songs.
2. My card which worked in the past, rejected all of the sudden. Don't know why, since I had $$ on it. It was a debit card too. The card's been getting more finicky security-wise. I've had other online purchases fail when the card was perfectly OK.
3. Anyway, I realized that I actually downloaded the song that it hiccupped on. I couldn't tell this until today. A cursory look at my account didn't reveal the issue. Itunes still wanted payment for a song I already downloaded.
4. Apple kept giving me that uninformative dialog box since it was in this funky state. No more purchases would work. Simply changing the credit card # wasn't sufficient to resolve the outstanding issue.
5. I logged in today, attempting to make a purchase. This time iTunes was more informative and told me to resolve the issue from 2 weeks ago on my acct.
6. Purchases now work.

I have been browsing for hours no with no avail to this problem I have been having.
I am trying to create a new account to use with the iTunes store - an account in my country, rather than using my US account to buy stuff from there.
My country (Bolivia) is new to the iTunes store, and as soon as I heard the store became available yesterday, I have been trying to register a new account. But everytime I get to the payment page and submit the info, I get the error "Credit Card Processing Is Temporarily Unavailable. Please Try Again Later".
Again, I have googled for this for hours with no avails. Common possible solutions were:
A lot of people mistyped the security code. But I have checked mine a thousand times, I'm completely certain I am getting it right, but I keep getting that message.
Some people mistyped the actual CC number. Another piece of info I retyped a couple of times so I'm sure I'm getting it right.
What are the chances the system is actually unavailable? A lot of people solved this problem and the issue wasn't related to a system being down at all. Could it be the fact my country is new to the iTunes store?
It's been like 6 hours since I tried to make the new account. That doesn't fit my definition of "Temporarily". I guess I will wait a day or two and see what happens, but in the meantime I would like to hear possible problems and/or solutions.
Oh, I almost forgot. If it matters, I am using an iTunes Beta on my MacBook Pro.

I have the same problem, but being as you have had your account for 5 days by the time of this writing, I had mine for about a year. Recently, the security code showed up blank for the credit card I was using, and even when I used the correct security code, iTunes figured that it wasn't valid.
Thankfully, (go shopsafe!) it was easy to get another credit card for a dollar or two (I just want to update my free software for free...), yet this didn't work, for it again said that the security code was invalid.
Then, after a few tries, it said "Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
Judging by other Apple forums, when this sort of thing happens, it's a problem on Apple's side, rather than my computer.
I came to this conclusion when I came to a forum that had a bunch of different people complaining that they can't buy music on iTunes. However, that forum was dated in 2008.
If someone finds contradictory information, feel free to reply to my post and tell me how I, too, could fix this.
And in case it matters, I am using a MacBook Air with OS X 10.6.8 and have iTunes 10.4.

I have been getting this message since 12/30 around noon, and just figured there was a problem with the service. I logged on this morning expecting it to be resolved, but I am still getting the same error when I try to put in my credit card information. I just created a new account and its really frustrating to not be able to dl anything for my new ipod.

I managed to get it to work this morning. I went back through and used the same cards I had tried before. I still could not get it to work with my debit card, but it went through with my credit card. Both cards are issued by the same bank, so I am not sure what the reason was. Either way its working now.

ITunes can't process credit card purchases??

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to purchase some music since Friday, but have been unable to do so. I keep getting a message about the iTunes store not being able to process credit card purchases at this time. What is going on? Is anyone else having this problem or am I the only one? I know my credit card works, so it can't be that. SOME ONE HELP!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Well, I guess I have a similar problem. I downloaded about 21 tunes today, and only two of them got paid for with my Pay Pal account. The others are just sitting there, saying they're being paid for by a credit card. WHICH credit card? I don't remember authorizing iTunes to use any of my credit cards. I have $15 credit from a redeemed gift card, so why can't I use that to pay?
I do have a "backup" credit card on my Pay Pal account, but it's been deactivated because an ATM ate the card two weeks ago.
Any help?

Trying to subscribe to iTunes Cloud, getting message "credit card processing is temporarily unavailable".

I've tried to subscribe to iTunes Cloud for a couple of days now but receiving the message "credit card processing is temporarily unavailable". Tried to contact support but they need an apple serial number, I'm accessing iTunes from my HP laptop so doesn't recognize the serial number. How do I get Apple to sell me this subscription?
