I bought a $50.00 credit from walmart for iTunes. I borrowed a friends credit card number to download the upgrade (It said that credit doesn't work with upgrades) and now I am trying to buy some apps, and it says I need a credit card.
Is there a way to download apps using my credit, or is it for credit card only?

Yes that is correct. I used the gift card as normal by redeeming the card at which time it showed the credit amount in the window, I then purchased the 2.0, saw the 9.99 deduct from the total(25.00) was the total amount redeemed with no problems. Then purchased Super Monkey Ball the same way.

Login to the account on iTunes and under payment info, select none for the credit card. iTunes is supposed to use gift cards and store credit over credit cards but it doesn't.

You remove it by going into your iTunes Store account, going to Payment Type, clicking "edit" and selecting "none" for the payment type. You may have to do this through iTunes on a computer.

Credit card/payment confirmation for app updation

Why is it compulsory to have a credit card information for application download/updation. It is not possible for every MAC user to own a credit. Its also weird that it doesnt accept my debit card details.

And keep in mind your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.

It's not. Click Account right side of the App Store window under Quick Links then sign in. Click Edit to the right of Payment Type.
Select None
Make sure your name and billing address correct then click Done.
An alternative would be to purchase iTunes Gift cards which can be redeemed at the iTunes or Mac App Store > Choose your iTunes Gift Card - Apple Store

Yes, it's frustrating.
I don't have my iPod with me but, as I recall, the change is done in Settings/Store. That change will apply to NEW purchases. However, be aware that all purchases are permanently associated with the Apple ID that was originally used. Generally, it's only a problem when you need to update an app. IF you do your updating from iTunes and your logged in to the "wrong" ID, you'll need to log out and back in again. It's easier from the iPod as you do not need to log out/in but you do need to know the password.
Unfortunately, you can not merge IDs nor can you transfer purchases from one ID to another. Go here to find out exactly what you have. I have the same problem so I deliberately made both passwords identical to make things slightly easier for me.

And yet to download the app you clicked on a button that told you that the app would be 790 rupees for you.
The iLife apps and the iWork apps are only free when you qualify to get them free. And when you get them free the buy button to download them says free. When the buy button has a price on it, that is how much you will pay for the app.

Suppose I want to develop an iPhone app which performs user subscription for the app to assist the user and provide the user with its facilities and this user subscription can be done only when user pays some amount to the app. Now what I want is that this subscription amount should be payable by providing the credit card payment in the app. So my question is that is this credit card payment allowed by Apple or such an app will be rejected by Apple?

Rajagopal.pngr :- It is only a holding charge, it is not a permanent charge. If it isn't refunded within a few days or so (and it quite possibly won't be over a weekend) then you can query the charge with Apple.

First, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPod. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. As to a refund, that's not automatic since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

They're usually pretty lenient in the case of inadvertent purchases by children. No guarantees, though, just as if your child was in a store and ate a bunch of food (in other words, something that can't just be returned).

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Sorry, but there's no way to force the iTunes Store to use your credit card. If there's a credit balance available, purchases will be deducted from that first.
