Credit is Insufficient or Inapplicable

I'm getting the following error when trying to purchase songs on iTunes:
"Your remaining credits are insufficient or inapplicable to this purchase. Your account will be debited for some or all of this purchase."
There is a Buy and Cancel button on this pop-up window.
I have over $36 and 3 credits according to the diplay at the top of the iTunes window. Why am I getting this message?
FYI, I had an old credit card listed on my account. I changed that to a valid one. I've tried purchasing using two different computers.
Regards,
cb

OK. Thanks for the reply! I tried it out (all) yesterday. Just let it roll like you said. Seemed to work. Credits deducted with each purchase. No new bills... So, your response solved my "issue". Thanks again for the help!
Man, has it really been THAT long since I purchased new songs? lol

  • "INSUFFICIENT REMAINING STORE CREDIT" when trying to purchase a movie

"Your remaining store credit is insufficient to complete this purchase. If you enter your payment information and retry your purchase, your store credit balance will be applied to it. Please enter your Apple ID and password and click Billing Info to supply your payment information."
This popped up for about the last 50 times i tried to purchase Inglourious Basterds! It says in the top right hand corner of iTunes that I have $15.00 remaining as store credit, so i dont understand why i wouldnt be able to purchase the $14.99 movie (unless there's tax or something, but i dont think so?)
And when I DO edit my billing info to enter my debit card info, it either says i put in an "incorrect security code" or it'll go back to the movie page, but when i click "buy movie", the same thing happens again with the whole "insufficient remaining store credit" deal.
I'm getting aggravated, anyone else having these problems?

so i dont understand why i wouldnt be able to purchase the $14.99 movie (unless there's tax or something, but i dont think so?)
    Yes, there is tax.

  • Can't Pre-Order new Coldplay Album!!

I hope someone can help with this.
I am trying to pre order the coldplay album Viva la vida and get the single thats out now. When I go to press pre order I get the following message: "Are you sure you want to pre-order "Viva la Vida? Your account will be charged...etc"
    I click "Pre-Order"
Next window says: "Warning: Your remaining credits are insufficient or inapplicable to this purchase....Your credit card will be charged for some or all of this purcahse."
    I click "Get"
Next window says: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (1008). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
    I bang head against table....
Anyone know what to do from here?? I can download anything else except this album. Thanks!

I had the problem of getting my pre-order this morning so I went to the iTunes Support and left a message. An hour and a half later, I was able to download it BUT it was the regular version and not the higher quality iTunes Plus version. So I put another request in to them about that. Still waiting to hear from them. My download did include the acoustic track though.

  • ITunes Store Not Recognizing Gift Card Credits

I recently redeemed a gift card and now $25.00 is showing as available on my iTunes Store page. However, when I attempt to buy any 99-cent song, I get following message:
“Your remaining credits are insufficient or inapplicable to this purchase. Your account will be debited for some or all of this purchase”
Apparently there is some disconnect between my account and my iTunes store page. Apple support has been non-responsive and unable to help me with this problem. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,
I saw Chris' reply to you below as well. I could be wrong, but I believe what he is trying to clarify is that as long as it's not a card that says "Digital Album" on it. Those are cards that have content on them instead of balance.
Now if your card is a $25.00 card, then I'm pretty certain it is a regular iTunes gift card.
First thing to check. When you go to iTunes home page, on the upper-left hand corner, next to your account name (most likely your email), do you see a balance there (i.e. $25.00). If you do not, then logout of iTunes and re-log back in. You should see a balance other than $0, then when you purchase, it would use that balance first.
Try that and let me know if you still get the error.
    HTH,
    Thomas

  • That Does Not Compute

I tried to purchase an album from iTunes directly on my iPod Touch and got a message that said something like "Your iTunes credits are insufficient or inapplicable for this purchase" along with a "Cancel" button and a "Get" button.
I clicked the "Get" button and then got a blank page and nothing happened after that. The songs didn't download and the purchase doesn't show up in my iTunes purchase history, which would indicate that the purchase process didn't complete. There were no error messages after I clicked the "Get" button, but the purchase seems to have died there.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I submitted a support request to iTunes store support and received the following answer:
"As an iTunes Store Customer Support representative, I handle issues related to billing, downloading, customer accounts, and the items available on the iTunes Store. The question you asked falls outside of my area of specialty, but Apple does offer some resources that should help you."
Apparently, problems making purchases from the iTunes store do not fall within the purview of iTunes store support. This problem evidently requires DIY support.
    Nice going, Apple!

  • Skype Number Expired -- but it's not

I really hate the notion of posting to a forum when I want a proper "contact us" on this website.
Why does Skype tell me that my number is expiring but doesn't allow me to continue the subscription?

    Hi guys,
could you please provide screenshots for what you see on your Skype Number tab and in your Skype Number settings, if neither of cases below seems to apply for you?
    Skype Number tab:
If your Skype Number's expiry date is approaching, three different links can appear where I marked the yellow arrow:
"Extend" link: if your Skype Number is not billed automatically but you have to pay for each billing period separately. When you click "Extend", you will be redirected to purchase of the same Skype Number for new billing period (you pay > the expiry date will move to 1, 3 or 12 months from your last expiry date).
This "Expire" link is also displayed if the number has been allocated to you from Skype Manager (company account). In this case you can merely ask your Skype Manager administrator to prolong the number via a form (you will get there by clicking "Extend"), but it has to be manually managed from the admin account in Skype Manager (in Features > Skype Number page of SM admin). You cannot extend the number from your member account in this case.
"Reactivate" link: if a) you have cancelled your Skype Number, or b) your Skype Number has already expired, you can click "Reactivate". In case of a), you would simply reactivate your number and it would continue to be active. In case of b), you have 90 days of reservation period to pay for your number and then it becomes active again.
"Settings" link: if you have recurring payment set up for your Skype Number, which means you are billing automatically every 1, 3 or 12 months. Your number can be expiring because the last recurring payment has failed (it can be due to expired credit card, insufficient Skype credit or many other reasons). In this case, you have to go to your Skype Number settings and change payment method, see following screenshot:

  • Cant use money I redeemed from my iTunes gift card??

My account shows I have $15.73.  Im trying to purchase an app on my macbook pro that is $14.99 but when I get to billing info it doesn't give me an option to use my credit I redeemed on my iTunes gift card.  What am I doing wrong?

How much is it after you add in tax?  I have never made a purchase at the iTunes Store but my understanding is even if your credit is insufficient to buy an item outright you should still be able to pay for it and pay for the balance with a credit card.

  • BOA Secured Graduation?

Okay, so here's my deal. My industry crapped out around 2008, SO and I lost our jobs, vehicles repo'd, no income, hard times wah wah sob story go here... Needless to say, we lived through it but both our scores tanked. I went back to school to finish out my bachelors in 2010, wracked up a cool 40k in student loans before graduating in 2013. I didn't even want to check my credit score back then. I lived in perpetual fear. I remember being so embarassed after a lady asking me if my score was over 600 to waive a utility deposit. Collections on my arse all the time. Just being miserable.
Got my taxes back in spring 2014 and decided to get a secured credit card. My score was barely in the 500s at this point (still up from a low 451 back in 2010, which had been the last time I checked prior!). Went with my banking institution -- I've since realized a credit union would have been a WAY better decision, but I digress -- which was/still is Bank of America. They gave me a $300 secured card. Paid my deposit, put it in my pocket, ran about 70% utilization through the first year of it without really being aware of any of the factors involved in credit.
In December of 14 I got a whim to do some Christmas shopping and idly tried my luck on an Amazon storecard. Didn't expect anything. Got approved anyhow! $700 credit limit. Used it extensively since then, putting lots of things on it and paying it off.
Early this year, someone told me to call BoA after I'd have the secured card for a year to get it unsecured. I was optimistic about my chances. Called them in April 2015 - my score was around a 580 at this point - and the lady reviewed my account and told me that my credit was insufficient and that even though I was consistently paying more than the minimum payment, it wasn't enough to rate unsecuring the card. This upset me way out of proportion to anything else... it was a wake up call. So I made the conscious choice to research credit and figure out how to improve mine. Signed up for all the FAKOs but the REAL source of info was on here (thank you all for all of your advice-- you have no idea how many times an answer was on here spelled out!). Since April I have disputed, EE'd and cleaned up my reports like crazy. I estimate I've raised my score roughly 100 points - I'm hovering around a 675 (FAKO) now. I'm super stingy so I'm waiting to pull my FICOs when I really need to know/before a "real" app.
But then I went on a SCT spree last week... somehow I'd missed it these few months. I scored $500 VS, $4500+300 CLI Overstock, $2500 Sportsmans, $2500 Fuel Rewards. NOT BAD for one hard pull among it (Fuel Rewards), even if I know my AAoA is going to dip.
Then I read something today about chatting up Synchrony and wandered over to Amazon. I asked for 5000 figuring if I could even get 2k that would be awesome. The SOBs gave me 5000!! So WITH ALL THAT BACKSTORY, back to my little secured card. It's my oldest open line of credit aside from the student loans, but now also the smallest. I am trying to figure out now if it is better to: a) leave it alone and wait for BoA to unsecure it on their own; b) leave it alone period and not worry about it; c) do a combo and wait for a set amount of months to call BoA. I even toyed with the idea of upping the credit limit manually by adding another deposit.
My TU has 5 inqs counting the one BoA pulled for the review earlier this year. I have a very large collection falling off in March of next year which is also my last derog on TU; it's a repo and I am planning on buying a car after that clears out, since I'm sure my auto-enhance sucks with it on there right now. Not sure how it will impact how BoA's view on my credit, though I am guessing having 0 derogs is better than having the 6 that were on there when they looked at it in April! Whew, that was a lot just to ask about this. Anyhow... what do you guys think? Anyone out there with experience with BoA secured and rebuilding? (I'm also not sure if I should have posted this to rebuilding instead of credit cards, now that I think about it....)  Should I wait for BoA -- will they unsecure it in due time via SP review? Or should I close it since it's a toy limit compared to most of my others now? Or am I just getting eaten up over nothing and I should just ignore it?
ETA: thx JustMe3 for bringing my lingo into line, lol-- 'graduation', that's it!

Hahaha, I felt like I was reading my own story! Also lost a job in 08-09, had my car repoed, had a secured BoA as my only rebuilder, etc.
If it helps, I think my scores were around 630 when I got them to do an early graduation for me. I did throw more money on the card before that and I really wish I'd thrown more now since they will not give me a CLI.
It was a $500 card that I turned into a $1500 with my own money. They of course credited the money back to me after unsecuring it.
I recommend Cap1, btw. They gave me two QuickSilvers six months ago at 1 and 2k limits that are now 3.5 and 4.5k limits that I'm going to combine into an 8k card tomorrow.

First of all congratulations on all of your successes during your rebuild!! As for the BOA secured card, did your score increase 100 points AFTER your last attempt to unsecure it? If so, I would try again (I believe it's called graduation). It will be another HP, so if you're worried about that then it might be best to wait until your last baddie falls off. Also, you really need to know your real Fico scores. You can either buy them here, or others have had success with Credit Check Total which has a week trial for $1 and will give you all 3 bureau's Fico scores. Fakos can be off by 100 points, so knowing your real Fico score is a must!

If you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax - does that take it over $15.08 ?

I have just bought the unlimited subscription and can not make a call at all. It keeps tellin me I have insufficient credit.. On an unlimited subscription.. How does that work? I did have to buy more credit because I needed to make phone calls, but missed the chance I can't get in touch with them now. But that's not the issue, the issue is why can't i use the service I'm paying for? My internet is fine, my phone is fine, everything is just fine just the service.

    Hey TanjaB,
Finally managed to work it out with skype, not sure if this will apply to you but it did with me. Because my partner has an Estonian mobile number, skype subscriptions only work with landlines in Estonia.
Regardless if she is in Norway at the moment will have to go through the Estonian Company first, so she will need to get a sim from Norway or Finland (her next stop) they are part of the mobile subscription, or any of the other countries thats part of the mobile coverage list, otherwise you can only call landlines.
But positive thing is, once she has a sim from one of the areas that is covered by the subscription she could be ANYWHERE in the world and you can speak to them providing they have reception and thats about it. Thats how i have understood it anyway, and saves getting credits, or the 60min, 120min packages which are expensive.
