CRES Registration for Mobile Users

Currently, for mobile users using BCE mobile app, the registration with CRES service is a vey difficult task. Is there any plan on the roadmap to provide a mobile friendly interface to CRES portal via BCE?
Thanks,

  • OS X Server 4.0.3 Profile Manager Settings for Mobile Users problems

    OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 with Server 4.0.3
We are using Profile Manager to control Settings for Mobile Users, and give homeSync to the users. Our problem is that the exclude / Skip items (Items matching any of the following will not sync" This setting is not working an example. I have put this folder to Skip Items ~/Downloads but the home Sync still Syncing items in the Downloads folder.
I have this problem on all the 3 users/machines on that server. Every client is using os x 10.10.1 og 10.10.2 I have check that the profile from the server is on the client.
Has any a solution to that?
    Regards
    Brian

I have no solution but have experienced failing sync settings (quite often) in both 10.6 Server and 10.9 + Server 3 (upgraded from 10.6 Server) in the same way as you described, it syncs too much. We have given up on synched home folders and will cut them and use other backup methods since we’re not so dependant on switching between different devices. Our users usually have one computer, one iPhone, one iPad and stay with those until it’s time to exchange them.

  • Change home page for mobile user

Is it possible to change safari home page for mobile user via script or locally? We have OD profile which is set to delete all data after logout.
Also is it possible do automatic login for mobile user?
    thank you...

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to customize home page for different user.
There are two methods to accomplish your requirement. You could
create a webpart with code or a control the page that redirect to a new page based on the users or groups.

  • 10.5.5 Active directory problem for mobile users

I an running 10.5.5 on a MBP 2.4. The computer is attached to Active Directory for authentication. The accounted is setup as a mobile user with automatic home sync. Below is the problem I'm experiencing after 10.5.5.
Upgrade worked fine, everything went through as expected. When I got home with computer, couldn't login. I did eventually get logged in, computer became extremely unresponsive at intermittent times.
At work next day, everything worked fine.
I believe this is a problem with 10.5.5 computers that are bound to AD, when AD is not available (but internet is.) Some type of weird priority locking or timeout setting? It seems to fail immediately if no network is available, but if the internet is available it is like it gets "hung" waiting for a response.
    Anybody else having similar problems?
Below are the details on the specific tests that brought me to this conclusion.
    1) Boot with work network cable connected - Works fine
    2) Boot with work wifi network enabled - works fine
    3) Boot with public wifi network enabled and work cable - works fine.
    4) Boot with only public wifi - appears "frozen" (turned off after 5 minutes of trying to login)
    5) Boot without network or wifi - works fine using cached mobile account info
    6) Boot with network cable and public wifi, remove network cable after login- works fine for a period becomes periodically frozen. attempts to do anything become queued, when computer starts responding queue emptys out (can see menus / applications switch around to correspond with clicks.)
    7) Change account to Manual sync of mobile account, again boot with network cable and public wifi, remove network cable- no freezing responds normaly.
All steps repeated after rebinding computer to AD - same results.

First rule of installing an upgrade, run permissions repair both before & after. Did you do that?
I'm using a Mac dual bound to AD & OD, works perfectly. I can't speak for the exact setup of your network but I personally would be suspicious of AD. I had a similar issue some time back where my processor would go crazy with the net directory authentication running like crazy. Turned out AD had somehow forgotten my computer. It only happened away from work where my Mac couldn't contact the AD server (not exactly sure why). I'd try the following.
    1. While at work create a local administrative account on your Mac (you should always have a backup account anyway).
    2. Login as local admin account.
    3. open Directory Utility from the Applications/Utilities folder & remove the AD server (you'll need an account that can bind machines to AD).
    4. re-add your Mac to AD.
This may resolve your issue & shouldn't hurt anything in the least.

  • Can't change password for mobile user on certain client computers

I have a MacBook Pro that has mobile user accounts. The user accounts are defined in the WGM of my macpro Server. The mobile user account works fine except that after some time I could not change the password on the client computer. I could change it in WGM but then it was not updated on the client. I tried changing the password from the SystemPreferences -> Accounts option as well as from the command line with "passwd". When using the command line passwd it just says "sorry". When using the Accounts option it asks to contact the "system manager".
I called Apple Support. They suggested recreating the mobile user account on the client. I did that, and everything worked fine, including changing passwords on the client. But, after several weeks, I again cannot change the password on the client. I can change it in WGM fine, but again the client is not updated.
It seems that the password database on the client gets confused about user password changing privileges after some time.
To make matters more complicated, everything works fine for another client computer, including changing passwords.
    Any suggestions?

This problem was related to the case sensitivity of computer names. I had recreated the LDAP binding to the client computer with the computer name in all lower case
characters. However, when I created the mobile user initially, I had used a mix of upper and lower case characters (the name that shows up upon reverse DNS lookup). Once I re-created the LDAP binding with the original name, everthing worked fine.

  • Advice for Mobile Users

This is my first time setting up SL Server, and I'm not sure the best way to proceed. I have a small workgroup of <25 client Macs for an elementary school. Each teacher will have a MacBook, there will be an iMac in each classroom, and a smattering of a few other iMacs and MacBook Pros. Every staff member needs an account, and then there will be a couple general-purpose accounts (a "student" account, etc.). For the per-person accounts, I'm thinking of using Mobile User accounts with Home sync so that if a teacher has to log into an iMac or another MacBook rather than her own, all of her files will be there. Along with using NetRestore for a few restore images, I think this would eliminate the need to run client backups over Time Machine service (I will of course need to backup these home sync stores).
Is there another way I should be considering to set this up? The portables will be off campus regularly (possibly every night), so Network Homes won't work. I'm not full-time support — just a parent volunteer — so I want it to be easy for on-site staff to minimize uptime. I plan on training the administrative assistant so she can issue a teacher a replacement MacBook or help them log into the classroom iMac and then re-image the problematic machine if it's having some sort of trouble. I have one Mac mini server running the entire show. The wired network is all Gigabit, and all the AirPort hardware is the newest stuff, so wireless clients are all running N. I don't want to trust any of these users to know how to back up their files, but I also don't want to overtax the network or the one server.
I know I'm asking more than one simple question, so if anyone rather than answer has links or suggestions of good resources I can read (printed or online) to help make this decision, that would be most helpful as well.

There is a simple, but limited way to do this presently. Just export the xmp data. If they're RAWs, you'll get side cars, otherwise it will be embedded.
When you copy the images to the RAID, copy the sidecars too and then import on the other system.
The limitations are, you don't get:
    - History states
    - History snapshots
    - Stacks
    - Collections
    - Flags

  • Mutliple camera feeds, different qualities: How to reduce live stream quality for mobile users??

My issue is I have multiple cameras from users and some are on mobile devices, so I want the mobile users to receive a different quality feed.
I've tried using receiveVideoFPS to no avail (apparently H.264 can't / won't ever support this feature....)
Can feeds be received differently so that if one users has an HD camera feed, the mobile guys not choking his connection and cpu trying to pull it down?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks so much.

    1) any practical use of P2P multicast will have a delay measured in seconds. it shouldn't go to 30 seconds unless you have a large NetStream.bufferTime.
    2) i strongly recommend against changing the multicast stream parameters. they all interact with each other. decreasing the window duration will decrease the effective reliability of the stream, by reducing the amount of time to receive all of the fragments of the stream as they pass through the P2P group -- especially when people join or leave the group, which can disrupt the low latency "push" trees that are constructed in the group.
    3) you should be able to change the encoding parameters on the fly without a major disruption. are you using H.264 or Sorenson Spark?  it's possible that your camera doesn't like to have its capture size changed and it is freezing temporarily.  i'm not having any trouble changing the capture size with my camera (and using H.264).  i recall there being some issue with changing the frames-per-second on the fly (at least some time ago, and i don't remember what the issue is) -- there was enough of an issue that i disabled it in my little app while actively publishing.

  • Services quality by for mobile users

    Hello Guys
I would like to share my feedback in the response to the problem faced by me with my Z1 mobile.
My mobile is under warranty period and it got problem with the display screen and I went to the support office of the care center and the response was very very very bad.
What they said was unprofessional and unethical as per the product and service provider of any mobile company.
I have changed my view for sony mobile after their response and I will suggest everyone not to buy any sony mobile in future.

  • ISE DNS Question For Guest Users

Before I ask the question, let me explain our environment.
We have an internal 5508 controller.  We also have a 5508 DMZ controller that acts as an anchor controller.  Guest traffic is piped to the DMZ controller which provides the DHCP address, and DNS server information.  The DNS that we provide is our ISP provider DNS server information, to our guest wireless users.  There's no need to provide them with our internal DNS server information, since they're only going to the internet.
Here's my dilema.  We are now implementing the ISE appliances so that we can better control our guest users.  Currently, our guest SSID is wide open.  With the ISE, we're going to initially only do self-registration for guest users.  They will connect to our broadcasted SSID, when they connect to it, they will be presented with the guest portal.  There will be a link that allows them to go to a self-registration page.  The dilema is that the ISE appliances are a part of our internal 10.x.x.x network.  Since the guest users will have our ISP's DNS servers, our ISE devices will not be able to be found for the redirection to the portal.
Would anyone have any suggestions on this?  I don't want to advertise our internal DNS servers to guest users.  Thanks for any help!

I haven't tried this before but ISE does actually allow you to assign physical ports to the Guest HTTP portal. You can see this under Administration > Web Portal Management > General > Ports. Perhaps you can:
    1. Take a physical port from your appliance and connect it to the DMZ
    3. Give it an IP address that is resolvable from the public DNS server
    3. Assign that physical port only to the guest HTTP service
On the other hand, you could also build a DNS server just for the guest users and stick in the DMZ :)
Not sure if this helps but just some food for thought.

  • Mobile user can't log in

    Hello,
I have an issue with mobile users. I have a Mac OS X server set up with OD. I have created mobile user profiles on it. Those profiles can log in to the server without issues.
Yet, I can't log on to any other mac on my network with those mobile users. If I try using the graphical interface, I get a login failed message, with the following error in the system.log file.

    Hi
+"is there anyway for mobile users to be admins of the local machine when they are offline?"+
Yes. System Preferences > Accounts > Select the Network Account. Click the lock to authenticate. Provide the local admin name and password. Tick the "Allow user to administer this computer" box. Logout and Login. Doing it this way reliably works for me every time. Train/Teach the user how to use the Sync options. Try not to sync everything. Avoid the Pictures folder if you can especially if there are large iPhoto libraries. Same for Movies folder. For offline users works best if they manually sync. Less problems that way.
+"in the Directory Utility was that it mounted my AD specified home directory in the dock"+
Apply a Dock MCX for that User or Group. Does not have to be a persistent setting. Once allows for additional user configuration. Under the "Add other folders" section tick the "Network Home" option. There are other ways of doing this but that should do it.
    HTH?

  • Custom Self Registration Page (New Users)

I'm looking for some directions for creating a custom self-registration for new users. Along with self-creating a new user, I would like the user to select (via a comboBox) a preferred Provider. When a Provider is selected, it will add them to a user group for accessing that provider. In addition, after the user is created, an email will fire; notifying the Portal Admin of a new user.
Is this possible? I would appreciate any head start or direction for this scenario.

  • Design considerations for mobile version of website

My company has just implemented a new version of our coporate website using Oracle Portal, and ADF. However we do not have comprehensive mobile support but it is required. From my research I've learned we should be using ADF mobile. However, the resources I have found have been geared more at developers and I work as a Business Analyst. Can you point me to online resources (white papers, tutorials etc.) that deal with requirements and design considerations for porting over to a mobile version?
    Thanks in advance.

My apologies for lateness in checking this thread.
Here is an article I wrote that might help. Most of the paper is geared toward developer, but the first few sections talks about best practices for mobile browser app in general, not just for iPhone. http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/huang-iphone.html
You can also check out this link: http://www.orato cle.com/technology/tech/wireless/adf_mobile.html.
As for design consideration, a few rules of thumb:
    - First, obviously use ADF Mobile and Trinidad components. We put a lot of effort in adding rendering support for different mobile devices.
    - Next, figure out what devices you want to support. Browsers found in smartphones varies greatly, and in consumer/feature phones, the support is even less consistent. In general you should be able create one app/set of screens for all mobile devices, but you should plan on having ability to test it out on different devices.
    - Determine what information is really needed by mobile user. Not all information available in desktop application may be applicable for mobile users
    - Design your mobile screens based on a few key principals:
    - Display data as user needs it, instead of trying to display everything. For example, instead of displaying master-detail data on the same screen, break it out into 2 screens. Master data may be a list, and user would click on a particular piece of data to look at the details of that master record.
    - Provide navigation buttons on each screen, and ensure they are easy to get to on a page. For example, using the iPhone paradigm, there is a navigation bar at the top of the page where you can go between views.
    - Place command buttons at location where it's easy for user to get to. For example, if you need to allow user to modify a long list of fields, you may want to place save button on top and button of the screen, so user can easily get to it without having to scroll around too much.
    - Use style sheets to achieve mobile-platform optimized UI. For example, if you intend to support touch screen devices (iPHone, BB Storm, etc), then style your application so buttons, command links, etc, are big enough so it's easy to get to. For non-touch screen devices, then it's OK to compress the UI, but ensure user can easily flow between controls to get to the functionality they need. For example, using a trackball to scroll to a button.
    Thanks,

  • Mobile User, only want to sync documents folder, nothing else

As the title suggests! I have a MB air and only want to sync my docs folder. In the WGM for mobile user I was there was just a simple set of buttons to allow common things! can anyone shed some light on what I need to add/subtract to get a perfect sync with only my docs
    thanks

I'm relatively new to portable home directories, but if you let the user manage the preferences (i.e., leave WGM alone) when you login you should be able to select "Mobile Account Preferences" from the Home Sync icon on the toolbar (or System Preferences -> Accounts -> Mobile Account Settings) and then just change the options there to only sync Documents.

  • IMEI Check for Mobile Anyconnects

Hi, I'm setting up a SSL VPN for enterprise which allow user to login via smartphone. The enterprise has about 100 users, what is the best way to limit the registered phone?
Currently i'm using DAP for the IMEI check. It is require to configure alot of DAP rules for different user. Any other better way to configure the IMEI check for mobile user?
    Thanks alot.

Mobile client is an off-line system. It can not make a real-time connection to any system (CRM, R3 etc.).
You can design something where all ATP check & Credit check related data are transfered to CDB & mobile clients. In mobile client you can write code to credit check & ATP check using this information.
But this will not be real-time. If user doesn't do conntrans then data on his laptop will be old, and ATP check & credit check will be done using old information, which may  not be write.
But this is the closest you can achieve.
    Hope this helps.
