    You may get a job after without achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
    You may fail to get a job after achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
    You may fail to get a job after without achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
    There are several factors involved in getting a job. And there are several ways a job may be obtained. But usually there are there stages:
    - Stage Zero: A company but has a job to offer.
    - And you need to be aware of it. - A friend may tell you, or an agency may tell you. And it must suit you for location and remuneration etc.
    - Stage one: An interview is obtained with the company.
    - Stage two: The job is offered to you rather than anyone else and you find it acceptable.
    So ... to your question:
    "Can i get a job after getting certified in Oracle Associate Pl/sql developer?"
    Well .... there is only three possible answers ... yes, no, and maybe; and maybe is probably the only correct answer, and most people will have worked this out, which means the question may have not been the best question to have asked.
    (( That said I now read the title of the thread and it says: Re: Will Oracle pl/sql certification help me get IT job)
    I have been known on occasion to have been given a question by a boss.
    And I have answered him:
    "You have given me the wrong question
    The question you should have answer me is this.
    And the answer I will give you is this."
    And the boss goes away happy
    So you you a better question would have been:
    How much will an OCA PL/SQL certification increase my chances of getting a job?
    Mind you even that question won't help you get a much better answer.
    For a proportion of jobs where PL/SQL is relevant that will help (for those where it is not it might be occasionally be a problem), for people with identical CV's it sometimes might help get to interview stage. But there are other factors as well. For instance if I was thinking of giving you a job on the basis of your post I might for example:
    - Not be impressed with an "Hello Guys" greeting ( though this is a forum so that isn't relevant here).
    - Not be impressed with you being confused.
    - etc.
    You probably need to get a good appreciation of the job market in your locality; and the numbers of applicants for each job. Which jobs you can apply for, what is your skillset and knowing youself as well.
    Sometimes an ITIL certification may be a better differentiator for some positions in business. But it will depend on the job you can think you can get.

    The very first thing that one must learn is to see what he is posting, its really relevant over that specific forum or not. If your aim is NOT to be in good in oracle technologies but just to be in Oracle, well all I can say its not an easy dream to get fulfilled. But I won't say anything more about it since this is a product specific forum and has nothing to do with Oracle corp's job openings. Also , I would suggest that people who hang around here are not having the information about the job postings so better would be that you remove your email id from here as well since all it would do that it would bring more spam to your mail. Keep looking for the openings in the local newspapers and/or get in touch with job consultants .

  • Error creating job in oracle

    I'm having a problem creating a job in oracle . I want at the end of each day to put some values from table1 in table2, empty table1, and then delete and re-create some sequences..because I have auto-increment id and each day I want to sequence to start from 0 again. So long story short I tried creating this job using toad for oracle.
    if I just put the first 2 tasks(put data from table1 in table 2, then delete) in the job it works like a charm. if I also add the drop sequence, create sequence I get an error saying
    Encountered the symbol "DROP" when expecting one of the following:
    begin case declare exit for goto if loop mod null pragma
    so this is what I want the job to do:
    insert into A(a,b,c) select a2,b2,c2 from B;
    delete from A;(so far it would work)
    drop sequence ida_seq;
    create sequence ida_seq
    start with 1
    increment by 1
    nomaxvalue;
    drop sequence idb_seq;
    create sequence idb_seq
    start with 1
    increment by 1
    nomaxvalue;
    so anybody can give me a clue on why I get the error? maybe if someone can give me a link on how to do oracle jobs..cause if I google "oracle+job" I get only jobs(for work) in oracle...but I don't get stuff related to syntax and how to create jobs in oracle. 10x in advance

    If this is a PL/SQL question, then PL/SQL has no 'DROP' or 'CREATE' keywords and you would need to use dynamic SQL with EXECUTE IMMEDIATE.
    btw there are various techniques around for resetting a sequence to start again at 1 using ALTER SEQUENCE, rather than dropping and recreating it.

  • Getting data out of Oracle to SQL Server 2005

    Hello,
    I am new in Oracle and I have this question.
    I need to transfer lots of data frequently at day from a large Oracle DB to a SQL Server 2005 Database.
    Could you tell me what tools (including PL/SQL) ORACLE offers to reach this goal?
    *.Dat files are still a way to perform this job or other method more performance (quickly and efficiently) are available?
    Using MS SSIS is better ?
    Thank for your help

    I've done getting data out of Oracle to MS Access DB using heterogenous servicing.I hope that that would be the best way for your case too..
    Check this out.

  • Error getting library jobs list?

    Oracle 10.2.0.3
    Using the database control whenever I try to view the Job Library I get the following error:
    Error getting library jobs list - ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'GET_LIBRARY_DATA' ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    This occurs on all databases.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,

    Thanks for the link. It does describe the symptoms.
    I have tested with the following steps to try and isolate when the issue is introduced.
    Install 10.2.0.1
    Create a new database, and the Job Library page works as expected.
    Install 10.2.0.3 patch set
    Create a new database, and the Job Library page works as expected.
    Install ORACLE 10.2.0.3 PATCH 16 BUG
    This appears to be the patch which causes the problem. If I create a database after installing this patch, I get the error specified.

  • Getting assigned job id

    Hi,
    How can I get the job id that was assigned by the reports (10g) engine (for later status checks)? I haven't found any report-running API that would return it (or any way to book a number and then passing it along with the job)
    Thanks in advance,
    Nik

    What technology are you using to call the report.
    i.e.
    If you are using a 10G database you could using the srw package to call the report and get the job id number.
    e.g. create or replace procedure event_driven_report_2 as
    myPlist SRW_PARAMLIST;
    myIdent SRW.Job_Ident;
    BEGIN
    myPlist := SRW_PARAMLIST(SRW_PARAMETER('',''));
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'GATEWAY','http://<host:port>/reports/rwservlet');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'SERVER','my904win');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'REPORT','test.rdf');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'USERID','<userid>');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'DESTYPE','file');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'DESFORMAT','HTMLCSS');
    srw.add_parameter(myPlist,'DESNAME','c:\temp\emp.htm');
    myIdent := srw.run_report(myPlist);
    EXCEPTION
    when others then
    raise;
    END;
    If you are using oracle forms to call the report
    DECLARE
     repid REPORT_OBJECT;
    v_rep VARCHAR2(100);
    rep_status VARCHAR2(20);
    BEGIN
     repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('report4');
     v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
    END;
    There are other methods available other techologies ...
    Cheers

    Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
    Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

  • How to stop a Scheduler Job in Oracle BI Publisher 10g

    Hello!
    Can someone tell me how can I stop a scheduler job in Oracle BI Publisher 10g?
    I scheduled a bursting job to run a report but is running during two days.
    I would like to stop it.
    Thanks.
    Edited by: SFONS on 19-Jan-2012 07:16

    Unfortunately there is no way to stop a job once it is being executed. Yes as you read, it is not possible once job has started.
    Same thing applies for running queries.
    Once queries are sent to the DB BIP loses control over them. The message you see (if any) "Click Here to Cancel" does not stop any query
    it is just a message.
    I guess you will have to stop/kill the process in your DB

    Welcome to the forum.
    Oracle 9i is a database version from the previous century.
    But:
    You can read about DBMS_JOB in the 9i documentation here:
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db92/homepage
    Or do some searches on http://asktom.oracle.com
    Anyway: if you want the job to run once, then omit the interval...

    Could pls tell explain me about how to set maximum number of jobs in oracle....
    Regd,
    Mahi

    I don't think there is any limit on number of jobs that can be submitted to Oracle. However, there is a limit on the number of processes that would execute those jobs (governed by JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES).

  • We are getting ¿ stored into our Oracle 10g database  (Microsoft fault)

    We are getting ¿ stored into our Oracle 10g database that is using WE8ISO8859P1 character set.
    Problem is caused by the following:
    Microsoft released software (in particularly MS Word) before considering any ANSI or ISO standard (although they claimed so).
    At that time of pioneering graphical interface - they were the standard. Since then things changed. Microsoft initially targeted US marked, however very soon they wanted to expanded to Europe. For that they needed to get standardized character set instead of one initially being in use. Microsoft re-mapped character set in newer applications using Windows-1252 character set which is compatible with ISO-8851-1 (we are using in our Java Web applications). That cleared obstacles to forward on European market, where extended characters are necessary (like in French, Dutch, German languages...)
    What happened with the initial character codes before Microsoft agreed with ISO to standardize characters? Well - Nothing.
    So what are the consequences of that?
    If we are using Microsoft Word document in conjunction with one of the oldest character set (universe) the ice-age character mapping is still there. So when we "cut and paste" the content to another application, characters sets are not mapped anymore. Especially French language "is sensitive to this" The Microsoft character set in Word decimally coded 146 ( ' ) is very often used in French.
    Therefore if the text is generated in MS Word using old character mapping (universe) which we do, and using method of "cutting and paste" we are mismatching character set interpreted by other, newer applications.
    Initially in the MS words (apostrophe) ' had code 191; then later after implementing Windows 1252 character set being moved to code 146 in accordance to ISO. Well ISO threat character coded 191 as ¿. So if you are using MS Word universe character set, ' looks like ' but in newer applications or ISO compatible applications it looks like ¿.
    Can anyone provide me with periodically cleanup routines that replace garbled characters entered by Microsoft applications into Oracle database ?
    Thanks
    Brendon
