Critical Error Message comes up after trying to ingest video in capture mode

I have a Sony FX1 camera and a MacBook. The MacBook is brand new and has the newest version of Adobe Premiere Pro. I am trying to ingest video onto my desktop by capturing the video through Adobe Premiere Pro. The Sony FX1 camera has an HDV output (Firewire 400) connected to an adapter that on the one end is Firewire and on the other is the new Thunderbolt technology for newer Macs.
Opening Premiere Pro and creating a new project is no issue. I open the Capture screen to try and ingest video. There is no problem opening the capture screen, but as soon as I hit the play button in the capture screen to play the video on my camera a critical error message comes up and it shuts down Premiere Pro. It does it every time I try to play the video on my camera.
Why is this happening and what do I do to stop it?

Spent hours trying everything suggested and finally this morning hit on a solution. iTunes must be run as an administrator. Even though you are logged into your PC as an administrator, using the iTunes shortcut does not make you an administrator in iTunes. I found this out by using the diagnostics in iTunes and reading through the results report.
I am using Windows 7, so I clicked the start button and right clicked on iTunes and selected "Run as an adimistrator". The first restore attempt got the 4013 error. I then did the DFU thing, hold power and home buttons for 10 seconds, release power and continue holding home for 10 more seconds.
iTunes gave me the restore message and I clicked it. I clicked the restore iPhone button and it started. The drivers loaded a couple of times. I got the apple logo with the progress bar and this time instead of disappearing, it started to fill in.
End result, a successful restore to factory settings and a happy 14 year old.

So I tried generating the same PDFs on two other computers that have Acrobat 9 Pro. Results were reproduced. The verdict is:
- complex PDF files (that is, containing cross-references, tables of contents, and bookmarks) generated by Acrobat 9.x Pro are roughly 2-5x larger than the identical file generated with Acrobat 8.x Pro.
- different PDF conversion settings make a negligable difference (less than 10% rather than 70-80%).
- using the "Reduce File Size" or "Optimize PDF" option cuts the file size roughly in half, almost always resulting in a "image downsampling mask" warning message, which requires acknowledgement (that is a problem for batch processing or automation).
- adding an Acrobat watermark to the file cuts the file size roughly in half.
- just using Save As to another filename has no effect on file size.
- generating the PDF in Acrobat 9 with links but no PDF bookmarks still results in the inflated file size.
- generating the PDF in Acrobat 9 without any links or bookmarks results in approximately the same file size as the Acrobat 8 PDF with full links and bookmarks.
It appears that Acrobat 9's manner of adding links is what's bloating the files, and in my case it's probably not related to images or image resolution/print quality. It's a shame, because Acrobat 9 seems to have made some improvements to the Review Tracker interface, and a few other bells and whistles which I haven't really gotten around to exporing yet. But unless I find a way to keep my links and the PDF file sizes comparable to what I was getting with Acrobat 8 Pro, it looks like I'm going to stay with Acrobat 8.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

However, the DVD+R works on both my Dad's and my brother's laptops. My Dad's laptop is an iBook G4 with Mac OS X operating system, version 10.3.9. The DVD Player is version 4.0. My brother's laptop is a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X operating system, version 10.7.2. The DVD Player is App version 5500.26.1 and framework version 5.5.0. The DVD+R plays fine on their laptops, but will not play on mine.

yes, you can locate and copy a file from your HD to a USB key using UNIX commands. If you know the exact name of the file which you’re trying to locate, try this:
find / -iname filename -print
This command will search your entire internal disk for the particular filename. If you know that it’s within a particular user account, then you can save search time with this variation:
find /Users/username -iname filename -print
Either variation of this command will print all files found which have the given filename. Presuming that you’re able to identify the correct file, you can copy it to a USB key using the command
cp -p filename_returned_by_find /Volumes/USB_volume
If you’re not sure which volume name your USB key has, this command will show you what the possibilities are:
ls /Volumes

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Did another window open with the pasted information? If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time. That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!

When trying to start firefox an error message comes up stating windows cannot access the specified device, path or file or that I may not have appropriate permission?

I was online when a mcaffee alert came up saying that real time scanning was turned off. After prompting it to turn back on it did but only for a short time. Shortly after that Firefox shut down.
