Critical Issues During SAP Implementation or After Golive

Can anybody tell me one of  the most critical/ challenging issues During SAP Implementation or After Golive
in these modules:-
MM implementation
PP implementation
SD implementation
FI/CO implementation
PS implementation
QM implementation
HR implementation
BI implementation
XI implementation
Thanks and regards
RS

hi,
I will list out few of critical issues in
Implementation :
1 . Ensure 100% mapping of business process for all modules with SAP(avoid customization in support phase)
2.  Unit & Integeration testing should be through with all validations
3.  Master datas(Vendor,Customer) care must be taken will uploading datas thru LSMW,
If there are common vendors for all plants,Create a vendor for a plant extend it to other plants
4. Check tax procedures are customized according to requirements.
5. Complete all print document customizations before go live
6. Complete end user training(2 or more cycles) should be top priority before go live(This will avoid
cancellation/reversal of documents after post go live)
7. Ready with standard MIS reports & customized reports for business decision making
8. Excise opening balance updation in tables for RG1 register in tables(Note 951955) on go live
9. Check all tables datas are updating correctly
10. Declare go live to SAP Support
11. Check All user authorization should be correct according to their roles.
12. Centeralize all master datas creation(avoid duplication)
13. Create transaction variants to avoid entires in unnecessary fields & make certain fields mandatory.
14. Ensure document numbering is completed for all documents
15. Validate accounting entries are hit properly according to requirement in quality client with FI CTM(Core team member).
After Go live :
1. Missing authorization for users will play key part here,For ex : PGI while doing delivery,Excise capture & post in MIGO/J1IEX.
2. Do internal audit every month, identify transactions if there will possibility for misuse or wrong entries, requires validation, identify users weak in certain areas.
3. Identify there is enhancements to be done in transaction process(By step-2)
4. Prepare a list of month & year end activities to be performed for all modules give to users
5. Prepare  a list of frequently used transaction codes module wise give it to users
6. If there is subcontracting, ensure challan creation,GR,reconcillation should be done regulary(monthly)
7. Train the users, take reports in respective modules.
8. Additonal customization might be done in print documents.
9. Instruct users/CTM's to adapt SAP Standard practise
10. Update excise tax rates after every indian budget
Hope it helps.

  • Role & Responsibilities of an ABAPer during SAP Implementation

    Dear Friends,
Shall anyone of you kindly let me know of a link or send a document addressing the Role & Responsibilities of an ABAPer during SAP Implementation?
    Regards,
    Alok.

    Hi,
ABAPer is required after installation and business study by functional consultant...
In case of upgrade project, ABAPer is required during upgrade (Basis activity) itself in SPAU and SPDD step.
Otherwise, ABAPer has following role in their area:
    1. Business study in brief. (To resolve simple issue and to understand logic)
    2. Coding for User exits / enhancements to co-operate with functional consultant.
    3. Custom reports / Program developement (Normally print programs and some analytical reports)
    4. Upload program implementation thru' BDC / BAPI / LSMW
    etc.
    5. Interface developement if required. (in case of legacy system integration projects)
These are the major tasks of ABAPer in implementation project.
Activities that form the SAP implementation process are:
    1. Project Preparation
    2. Sizing and blue printing
    3. SAP Functinal development - here abap comes into picture
    4. Final Preparation
    5. Go live
Have a look at below link. It will give you more details abt the same.

    Ritesh,
    Question is bit confusing
may i know the details of the New functionality in ECC 6.0 on (MM,SD,PP,QM,PS,HR,PM,FI/CO,BI,XI,DMS )
That means you are going to upgarde from some earlier version .what is that version ?
Then you might find some specific information at
    https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/uda -
    >Upgrade Dependency Analyzer
what is the problems coming at the time of *implementation* of ECC 6.0.
If its a new implemenation you will  not face problem , but you need to configure everything accordingly.
Problem depends upon what all you are using from standard and customizing.
Above provided link will help you.

    Hi,
Can you try running SYSAUDIT to check data integrity, perhaps in your pre-upgrade env some data got invalid in the Query tables, due to manually updating the database tools tables.
See peoplebooks for possible errors and solutions.

  • SAP Interview question "What is risk or most difficulty during SAP implemen

    Hi all,
A interviewer ask me a question "what is risk or most difficulty during SAP implementation, please list at least 4 answers".
Do you have experience in SAP implementation, if you have, what do you think?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
    Risk is in Mass maintainence...
Deletion / changes in the data's....
Covering of the abnormal requirement like gate pass etc...these are also called GAPS in sap...
Posting periods opening/closing from MMPV is very risky and if opened for the next month instead of the current month, then its bit difficult....
    Hope it helps...

  • Real time critical issues in  Implementation Project

    Hi friends
Please send  me the *Real time critical issues in  Implementation and Development  Projects*
    Thanks

    Hi
Blue Print: Assume the client is already having sound legacy system in place.
Also assume that all the processes in FICO are neatly documented with visios.
Now study those process flows and prepare a list of sub processes.
    Now prepare the fits/gaps/ assessment.
If the process fits into SAP it would be a fit. If an enhancement / modification is required, it goes into the red column.
Record all the discussions with the core users against each process and sub process.
Also list down the dependencies for each process / analyse the integration aspects.
Also plan how you would convert the legacy data into SAP.
The whole document should have illustrations / scenarios and ultimately signed off. This at any cost should not be changed unless, there is a total turnaround in the process requirements.
With the finalised blue print, you could start the activities in the implementation.
    Now regarding the interview questions:
    - Starts with your resume. How you have projected yourself. Have you shown real time experience or faked up projects. In any case, it is very easy to make out whether you have experience in implementation or support environment. You could never fool the interviewer.
Initially the interviewer would try to make an assessment on your genuinity.
    - When did the implementation start?
    - When did it GOLIVE?
    - Were you involved in the end to end implementation or was it a partial role?
-If you are supporting the client, who implemented SAP?
    - What tool do you use to track the support activities?
    - How many tickets have you handled so far?
    - Name some critical issues which you resolved and without which the production or business got affected?
    - What is the system landscape ?
-Have you developed any reports / enhancements / technical / functional designs?
    - Are you aware of interfaces / ALE / IDOCs ?
    - Are you aware of SLAs
    - Rate yourself on a rank of 1 to 10 in FI and CO
    - How often have you interacted with client during implementation / support?
    - What process designs have been prepared by you?
    - How do you react when you get a critical issue or cross modular issues?
    And so on and on
    Hope this helps

  • Problem after deinstallation of JDK during SAP System running....

    Hello...
I am working as a SAP BASIS trainee.I am facing some problem related with java and SAP System.
Actually an SAP System was already  running on the my system and suddenly i required to work on eclips (an IDE for java). And to install eclips it required JDK 1.6 version. But as we know that for SAP System an JDK 1.4 version required only.
I forgot and deinstalled JDK 1.4 and Installed JDK 1.6. and again tryied to installed eclips bt it was still throwing an error that it required JDK 1.6 and currently JDK 1.4 is running.
On the other hand SAP System was getting problem during SAP START (  dialog queue waiting time elapsed .......). and finally not working.
I deinstalled JDK 1.6.  now SAP System is working fine. It is getting started and everything is right.
Could i get any problem latter regarding to SAP Start??and why i cant use eclips on the same system??
    Thanks in advance.
    Uttam Kumar.

    > Could i get any problem latter regarding to SAP Start??and why i cant use eclips on the same system??
You need to make sure that the SAP system uses the correct JDK. You can install two JDKs in parallel (don't upgrade but install the 1.6 JDK in a separate directory).
Anyway, NWDI should not be installed on the server but on a local workstation.

  • Critical issues in MM

    Hi Gurus,
Can anybody tell me one of the most critical/ challenging issues in MM implementation
    Thanks in advance,
    Kumar

    Adding to Jurgen's List:
    - Lack of Sponsorship (needed for moral support and decision taking)
    - Lack of Project Management (absolutely needed internal & external control of the project)
    - Lack of control of Master Data introduced in the system (generates errors in the business process that could be avoided trough correct Master Data standards)
    - Lack of Project Scope Definition
    - Lack of Change Management: Willingness to stick with "old ways" of doing things even if a valid SAP Business Process allows to get the same Business result without development
    - Over-Automation: Make developments to automate special cases that occur one a day, instead of solving them "manually".
    - Wrong split of work between internal & external resources: 50/50 is the best for SAP implementations; 10% company and 90% external consulting is usually wrong, resulting in incomplete know-how transfer from the Consulting House to the internal IT department.
Disclaimer: No project participants were harmed during the making of these implementations

  • What can a best SAP implementation do for you?

For us, it did not get us the best results and our organization is still reeling from the huge investment made in SAP solution deployment - [I read this article |http://www.infoverto.com/2010/10/what-can-best-in-class-erp.html]and do not agree that SAP can bring the benefits [as written there|http://www.infoverto.com/2010/10/what-can-best-in-class-erp.html].

I differ from your view and I have a feeling that you are in the initial phase of learning SAP.
Why I am indicating is that  I had been with one of the major manufacturers for automotive parts, in India and abroad pre-SAP and post-SAP for quite a long time / years.
Before implementing SAP, there were lot of MIS reports coming to CEO where each and every report will have different figures and due to this, couple of  Management decisions went wrong.
But after implementing SAP, though in the initial phase, the users agitated to operate in SAP on day today basis, but over a period of time, they find how effectively they can make use of SAP especially from the MIS reports point of view.
Of course, quite frequently we were brainstorming on the critical issues we come across and wherever it can be addressed through standard, we have addressed and wherever we need to control through exit, we had implemented and now the top management is free from routine head aches and they are happy over the progress SAP has made in their plants.
Last but not least, I also know companies who have implemented SAP and are still struggling with their day to day issues just because, the implementation was total fiasco and I only blame who implemented SAP with unwanted configurations.
Just out of topic, can you please let me know how long and what industry you have handled as of now !!!!!!!!
    thanks

  • Material issue during breakdown

    Dear Expert,
I have query like during Breakdown Maintenance ,,, material issuance against order then practically material taking activity from store will lead to more downtime, Company usually have centeral store, so proper issuance of material will lead to gretaed downtime, is there any alternative for the same.
    plz guide
    thanks
    DM

    Dear Deeapk
I firmly agreed ur points. In my client we are opened the sub stores at imp locations. Even all the time materials issues, goods receipts thro 311 movemnets after receipt form central stores also happening.
    This is working well.
But generally in breakdown time the material is not reqd instantly. Definitely it needs some time like deelectrification, dismantling. So that in mean time any one member of mtc team take the material.
Incase stores closed time it may leads probs but this also like same as earlier(bf4 sap implementation). The mgt has to decide to reduce the down time.
Now days some firms utilising mobile asset mgt to do all kind of sap entry with out accessing the sap log in. This needs integration but iam not much aware
