Critical problems with X1 Carbon updated to Windows 8.1

I've updated my X1 Carbon 346082G to Windows 8.1 64 bit using the store update app, then downloaded the updated drivers for the X1 Carbon 3460 download page and...
The updated camera driver doesn't seems to find the integrated camera. Skype doesn't find it neither. Worked perfectly before the update to 8.1
The updated fngerprint app doesn't seems to find the fingerprint reader. Worked perfectly before the update to 8.1
The integrated USB 2.0 port (left side) stopped working, doesn't recognize any devices. Worked perfectly before the update to 8.1. The USB 3.0 port still works
The ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock is not recognized by the computer. Worked perfectly before the update to 8.1
The updated System Update app doesn't create a shortcut in the installed apps list, I have to launch it manually from c:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System update\tvsu.exe
When I run the update System Update (5.3.5) it doesn't find any new drivers
Anyone else having problems with the update on similar models?

I've encountered two problems: 1. The fingerprint reader doesn't work at log-in, although the desktop app that configures the fingerprint reader responds to fingerprints just fine. 2. The Power icon in Lenovo Settings has disappeared, meaning that a lot of useful settings have disappeared. In particular, my machine is currently set for working for extended periods with external power plugged in, meaning that the battery is at 50%, and there doesn't seem to be any way of changing it so that it will charge to 100% when needed. I'm astonished that Lenovo hasn't got ready for 8.1 -- it's been available for months for testing.

What is the error ? I've been using Yahoo mail and y7mail (also Yahoo) for few accounts from XP (no Vista) to Windows 8.1 (including RT) nearly every day mainly under Firefox and I can't see any problem with attachment(s) up to 9Mb in total.

I have been looking all over this forum and couldn't find an answer to my question, so I decided to post it myself.
Recently I bought a laptop with windows vista installed on it, and my creative zen vision M 30gb software stopped working. After ignoring this problem for a month, I thought creative might have already came up with a solution. I downloaded this new software package; Creative ZENcast Organizer .04.06 Suite. When I tried to install the software, I received an error, stating that my windows media player wasn't up to date. After double checking my windows media player updates, I concluded that my windows media player was up to date. Still I can't install this new software. Looks like creative is living up to its BAD reputation over and over again. Any help?

Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

hi
i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
so what should i do for my problem?

I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.

Well, I created new extract, starting 2012-06-01 15:30 to check if there was something with extract at the time, but got the same error.
If I run extract beging at 15:52 it starts and works.
But well, I got another one today. Data didn't look that bad, but yet one column came with null value:( And I'm using it as a key column, so I got Mapping problem with compressed key update record again:(
I'm replicating from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11g.
I'm actually using NOCOMPRESSUPDATES in Extract.
CDC is enabled for all tables replicated. The only thing is that it is enabled not by ADD TRANDATA command, but by SQL Server sys.sp_cdc_enable_table, does it matter?
Could you please advise why does it happen?

Critical problem with locking

I have a critical problem with locking
My session 1 does a select for update in a query which has aggregate function. and updates a row.
2 nd session waits till the first session has updated.
But while selecting the data is selects the old data and not the one which Session1 has updated.
Please let me know How do I overcome this .

I'll give the explanation a shot but I can't find anything explict in the documentation along these lines. By default, the 'FOR UPDATE' clause says lock all these rows AND wait for anybody who might already have them locked to release the lock. However, if the other session changed the data we can't just lock the old version of the row, we have to get the data from the new version of the row. The catch is that we must guarantee statement level read consistency as well. Namely, all the data used by the statement must appear correct from a single point in time. If we waited for the other transaction and it commited, we must move that point up to be read consistent. That means reexecuting any subqueries as of the new consistency point. To summarize, the following happens ...
1. subquery gives num = 1
2. main query want to lock that row but can't so it waits
3. other session commits
4. main query notices the data it wants to lock has changed so it moves up consistency point
5. subquery is rerun for the new consistency point
6. subquery now gives num = 2
7. main query locks row

Is there a problem with this latest update?

I have tried several times to instal latest player and for some reason it will not get past step 2 of 3. I can download and hit save, run and then nothing. Is there a problem with this latest update? I use Vista and run Firefox

I tried to install the one you just suggested on 4/14 and it got as far as opening the installer box then went to white screen for 15min till i had to restart computer. And this morning windows updated and again flash wanted an update so after cleaning flash memory and running a cleaner i tried again. and this time got to step 2of 3 again. I am still running 16.0.0.30.5 It will not update any further

Each time the update procedure begins, sometime stands then on the telephone “test mode”.
On the computer wars I the reference in the update manager “connection to the telephone broken off” and wants the update to again start.
If I change my profile attitudes since that for example, then after a telephone restart again deleted.
What there can I make?

It sounds like your 5800 has the earpiece fault that was common with 5800's made before February.
You need to take it to a nokia care point for repair under warranty.

The SCRP_CODE column has a NOT NULL constraint. The ORA-01407 error is telling you that you cannot update or set a value for this column to null because of the constraint. This has absolutely nothing to do with an index. You can use a marker/sentinel value in lieu of using NULL. For a numeric field, where everything is positive, a negative value (-1) can be decoded as meaning null. For a character field, a code such as NA can represent NULL.
This also has nothing to do (directly) with GoldenGate failing because of this error. The underlying SQL statement will fail everywhere, regardless of the tool or application. It is not a case of failing only in GoldenGate.

I'm having problems with itunes after updating. I've lost all my playlists,,finally played around with it and got the songs back but some have an exclamation point beside them and can't be located. they are songs i've purchased. I'm not very computer literate so this is a major problem. I have spent hours with this. I just want all my songs to play even though I'm not happy that I have to recreate my playlists. It would be so much easier if I knew and understood how to correct this. Has anyone else had this problem and if so..is there an easy way to correct it?

i am having a problem with my application update since i updated my iphonw to iOS 6. small updates are taking very long time and even not getting finished after several hours.
my internet connection is very fine and having good speed. i think updating to iOS 6 was a mistake....

Problem with iOS 5 update

Hi everyone!
Has someone of you have a problem with iOS 5 update? My iPhone after updating to the newest version, from time to time appears "There's no SIM card" . I don't know if there's a problem with MY iPhone or update "error"? Thanks in advance for your response.

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Also try this, copied from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
"No SIM installed" alert (GSM models only)
Remove the SIM card (micro-SIM on iPhone 4). Insert the SIM eject tool or the end of a small paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray. Press firmly and push it straight in until the tray pops out. See this document for more information.
Verify the SIM card is not damaged or dirty.
Reinstall the SIM card.
Turn the phone off and back on.
Wait approximately two minutes, then see if iPhone detects the SIM card and if it will register on the network.
If that doesn't work, try another SIM card, if possible, to see if it is detected.
