    My advise is that the problem seems to be related to the SMTP server of the Ironport. It has a problem trying to send a report named 'Cisco Report: Application Visibility - Proxy 2\n\t(filtroweb2.grupocge.cl)'. If I have to take an action I suggest to change de SMTP server to another MTA, for instance another Ironport C or a linux MTA.  Doing that you'll be able to look at the logs and try to find out what is going on.

    We've reached out to the Hotmail team and they've determined that this is a bug in their code. (It was masked by a timing issue in 3.5 that was fixed in 3.6.) We've worked with them to develop a fix but they may not have deployed it yet.

    I have some problems regarding Portal performace, Oracle support advised me to upgrade our application server from 10.1.2.2.0 to 10.1.2.3 by applying a patchset.
    environment:
    Solaris SPARC 64
    Infra is installed
    installation type is BI
    the system is very very very critical and cannot be down for more than 8 hours/ month (enough only for backup and patchset installation).
    my question: is there any risk by installaing this patchset to our system (compatability issues maybe) ?

    You need a redundant instance to give you the 'critical system availability' feature. This should not be merely test system which you can have to try and test applications without affecting the main instance. But because you need a moderately available system - if you do not wish to hit unavailability for more than 8 hrs.
    Secondly, yes, you need a Test system which can be made by using a clone. Apply patch set 3 to upgrade your OAS to 10.1.2.3.
    Patch Set 3 will somewhat help your system in many ways - specially in performance, and webcache error fixing, and some other problems. Oracle now tends to push you to first come to the latest software version for your product, and then the support helps more. But that's right, PSet 3 helps.
    Patch Set 3 includes an implicit infra DB upgrade (as default DB version in rel 2 was 10.1.0.4 and PSet 3 needs at least 10.1.0.5+.
    Patch Set 3 upgrades your software for infra, midtier and metadata repository, and then upgrade metadata repository. So about 4 major steps! I have also addressed it several times before in these forums. Search in this forum and in the portal forum for patch set 3 and you should get detailed help.
    After PSet 3, you will need a few other short patches to install. But they should be smooth to implement. check metalink for it.

    Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them.   • Upgrade system or install new internal HD first

    Hello all and thanks in advance.
    I am currently on a mid 2007 imac (imac7,1) with 10.5.8 instaled and running.  This computer so far has been nothing but great.  So much so I dont know some things which must be basics for many of you.
    Recently however, I started seeing some lag and hang-ups while performing regular tasks with safari or even finder.  FYI-I typically dont rock more than 2 programs due to my limited ram as specd below, and if I am running Lightroom I make sure its the only one.  I've been concerned with how old my OS is and lack of updates being released so I just got a snow leopard disk witch I will soon install.  I also got a new external hd for backing up a photo library which is also on an existing external.  While waiting for snow leopard and my new external hd in the mail, ive discovered running the system profiler shows many many many "open error 5: "input/output...." lines.  A helpful search here leads me to believe my internal hd may soon suffer from immenent failure. 
    I was planning on simply updating my system from leopard to snow leopard...I have several programs of which I no longer have the disk for - I wasnt previosly considering a clean install.
    So my question is should I 
    A - simply install snow leopard and make a bootable clone on the new exteranl drive I was hoping to use for photo storage untill I can replace the external?
    B - Make a bootable clone  to my new external first then updatemy OS and do a new bootable clone? 
    C - Make a bootable clone, replace my internal hd, then upgrade OS
    D - Make a bootable clone and update that (is that even possible) and live with it
    D - Something I am not thinking off?
    My head is spining and I see so many ways I can mess up that which many of you must see as simple!  Ive been so fortunate that this stuff has never failed so all of the above options no matter what i choose will be a first.
    FYI the new external is a my book studio with firewire 800.

    Woops, I forgot to mention everything is being backed up on an external via time machine.  I wasnt clear enough.
    Here is my hd breakdown:
    1 - Existing ineterna hd which is failing I think
    2 - Existing OWC portable used for time Machine backups. 
    3 - Existing WD my book studio External drive used for photo library.  This is lightrooms library and I work directly off of it.  photos are backed up onto my existing internal hd.
    4 - New WD my book studio with nothing on it yet (was going to use it for photos and free up internal hd, but now rethinking that)
    Yah, my machine is pretty old.  I will take a look at the OWC 6gb upgrade to stay informed but like you pointed out, dont know how much its worth to invest in something so old.  Short of bying some externals, I have no hardware money put into this computer.  Thats why im not too worried about putting in a new internal if it comes down to that.  Im a little familiar with the upgrade path to ML and understand my particular computers issues with going that route.  I think for the short future, I'd simpy like to get onto snow leopard.
    So still, im wondering, how should I proceed with this new external, upgrading my system, and replacing my internal hd?

    do NOT use JSP for anything except presentation of data, NEVER use it for anything else.
    If you need Java code inside a JSP, it shouldn't be a JSP.
    What makes you think you can't send mail to another server?
    What errors are you getting (I can guess, and I have 2 very strong contenders for the title, but I can't be sure)?
    To find out what replies a mailserver can give, read the relevant RFCs. Of course if you close the connection without waiting for (let alone handling) those responses you're never going to see them.

  • Source system set up for internal / external access

    Hi all.
    We have an EP 6.0 (NW04 SP16) system delivering BW data from a back-end BW 3.1/3.2 system.  We are using BW Report iViews to deliver all reports to external and internal users.  I am having a very specific problem when setting up the source system for the BW system.
    The BW Report iView object uses the WAS hostname parameter(found under: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Systems -> BWSourceSystem -> Open ->Object -> "Web Application Server (WAS)") when retrieving the back-end BW report. 
    When this parameter is set using an internal host id (internal_host.company.com) internal users can access the report in question, but external users can't.  Alternatively, when this parameter is set using an external host id (ie. the host of our DMZ proxy server) external users can access the report, but internal users can't.
    I need to find a way to use one hostname for this parameter that will work for both internal and external users.  I have worked with the HTTPURLLOC table and this solution works great for URL iViews, but not for BW Report iViews.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

    We did find a solution using web dispatcher.  We actually installed two instances of web dispatcher... one in our DMZ for external access and another one our corporate LAN.  The web dispatchers are configured identically and the EP instance knows only one hostname:
    name.company.com
    The port passed to the URL https://name.company.com:port is what tells web dispatcher what to do with the request (ie. pass the request to EP, BW, ECC, R/3, etc.).
    Be aware that EP allows for only one hostname for Source System Setup - my name.company.com in my example above -(this is the EP Web Application Server hostname (WAS) parameter found under System Admin - System Config - Systems) - so you may need to do something like we did:
    register name.company.com on the internet as a public address and use that DNS mapping for external users (using your DMZ version of webdispatcher).  Subsequently, use internal DNS or host name mapping to register an internal private addresss for name.company.com (using your LAN version of web dispatcher).  this will allow both internal / external users access to the portal and other SAP back-end systems.
    It may sound a bit kludgy, but believe me - we tried everything to make this work.  I took this all of the way to SAP and this was the recommendation SAP made for allowing both internal and external users access to portal and BW data.

  • Can't set internal SMTP servers, breaking anti-spam

    Hi, in our on-premise Exchange there is a PowerShell setting,
    Set-TransportConfig -InternalSMTPServers , which is used to inform Forefront Protection for Exchange ("FPE") of any non-Exchange SMTP servers that might be handling messages before they arrive at Exchange. This setting is necessary to ensure
    that the anti-spam functionality of FPE can properly look back through the message header and determine which internet host actually delivered the message, and determine if that host is on a blacklist, or whatnot.
    In Exchange Online Protection, though, it seems that there is no argument under Set-TransportConfig to establish such settings. I *can* see the setting under Get-TransportConfig, but I can't set it.
    This is a problem for us because we route mail internally first via on-premise, non-Exchange mail gateways before the messages are routed to Exchange Online. Exchange online always believes that our internal mail gateways are the originating server, when
    in fact, it's one hop back. The result is that Exchange Online's anti-spam functionality is not working correctly.
    How can I address this issue? I can't really re-route my MX record directly to the cloud yet.

    Turns out that the Citrix Access Gateway wasn't set up until yesterday evening and by then I had stopped trying for the day. It is now set up and external access is available.
    Further to this, my colleague forgot to inform me of the change of I.P. address of the Exchange server. This meant that Webmail requests were pointing to an I.P. address that didn't exist.
    I have reconfigured the firewall this morning and external access for Webmail is also working correctly.

We change the statu of internal order as CLSD, because we do not want to post any expense posting to that internal order .

    Hi,
    Do you mean they can do this by using the GroupWise Client? Or is the GWIA itself permitting relay for all servers?
    If the last is the case here, you can disable relaying (which should be disabled by default) within the GWIA settings in ConsoleOne > TAB Access Control > SMTP Relay Settings
    There you can also specify any exceptions that are needed.

  • System Restore without working internal DVD drive - dv9210us

    I have a set of recovery discs sent to me by HP for my dv9210us. I'm trying to use system recovery, but I'm running into some issues. My internal DVD drive stopped working some time ago. It is not a hardware issue with the drive, as I've purchased a new one with the same result (both work for roughly 10 minutes at a stretch once every few months, but that's a whole separate set of  posts ). Anyway, I have an external dvd drive, but I can't get the laptop to boot from it, and I can't boot from the internal obviously.
    I have tried using the "F12" option at the startup screen, as well as using recovery manager from within Windows to initiate a restore. Both of these end up the same - as the machine boots, I basically get a black and white screen asking to select the operating system to boot. The only choice is "Windows Vista (recovered)". I select this, and the machine boots up as usual. No recovery takes place at all.
    Am I missing something? Is there any way to restore this machine without the internal DVD drive working? Ironically, I was kind of hoping the restore would fix my DVD drive issue . One thought on this, not sure if it's related at all, but I had recently done a windows restore point (rolled back a few days trying to correct an issue where DVD playback suddenly started displaying in "negative" colors (aaaarrrrggghhhh)). I'm not sure if that could have affected the options that are available when I do the F12 startup (since it says "recovered")? Probably not, just grasping at straws...Please help...

    F11 gets HP recovery from the hard drive if it has it.

    F12 should get you a boot device list, does the external dvd drive (must be plugged in before power up) show up in the list? If it does highlight it and it should boot from disc 1 if it is in the drive.

    First, The actual error code is below:

    OK, now I will explain to the best of my ability, the situation:
    This error message is associated with an error in the core database product. The problem is NOT in the Apex product itself. There is a damaged Oracle database dictionary, damaged file/ index. We need a fix to repair the specific System index that is damaged. The problem we are having is that the index is a critical index. When we attempt to rebuild the damaged index we are told the damaged index is necessary for a warm restart of the database. At this point we are stuck. If we cannot repair the specific System index we will have to wipe the system and reinstall Apex. If we do this we will have to rebuild all of our tables and more. This represents weeks of work or more. So we would like to have help repairing the specific damaged critical index as opposed to wiping everything.
    Specifically, we cannot create tables that have a primary key (cannot create an index). When we attempt to create a table with a primary key the message above is the message we receive. We can create a table that does not have a primary key.
    History: FYI
    About six weeks ago we upgraded our Apex from version 3.1 to version 3.2. The first attempt failed the second attempt succeeded. In order to get the update to work we had to allocate more file space for the tables so there would be more storage space for the tables to utilize.
    We are dead in the water until we resolve this issue. Please help.
