CRM 2007 and Custom ISA 4.0 application interoperability

Hi,
We are in the process to upgrade our CRM 4.0 back end system to CRM 2007, in fact we already performed the BASIS upgrade in our sandbox system to estimate the effort required for the upgrade on different areas.
One of this areas is related with the ISA web application, we have a custom ISA 4.0 application that we use to capture business transaction in our CRM system, but this application is running in a separate NetWeaver 7.0 system on the DMZ, we would like to know if it is possible to integration of the old ISA 4.0 with the new CRM 6.0 (CRM 2007) backend system.
The reasoning to try to leave the CRM ISA application on 4.0 is because we are using it just to provide us the framework to create transaction in CRM, in fact we only create one type of transaction in the CRM system from this web application and the effort to upgrade the java application to the new version together with the support package stack could be very high for a application that is not very heavily used.
In summary, the question is if it is architecturally feasible to connect a CRM ISA 4.0 web application with a CRM 6.0 (CRM 2007) backend system?
Thanks for your help with this,
Zareh Vazquez

Hi Zareh
Firstly I can advise that ISA 4.0 Is not compatible with CRM 2007.
One of the biggest issues that you will encounter if you attempt this
is the compatibility of the ISA application with
the Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 2 browsers.
In ISA 4.0 even if you can get it to work with CRM 2007 these browsers are
not supported and no workaround is currently available or planned to address this.
This compatibility has only been address in the later versions of ISA 5.0
As these browsers versions are now becoming more commonly used
I think that this will be important for your consideration.
Please review the following notes which discuss such issues.
244869 Problems with the display in Internet Explorer 7.0
064439 Browser-specific stylesheets for Firefox and IE7
I hope that this will be of assistance.
Warm regards.
Peter

My fault for not putting my question forward correctly.
I have worked with CRM 7 a few times now, but my experience has jumped me from CRM 5 straight to CRM 7, having never touched CRM 2007.
I now have an opening to work on CRM 2007 so I was intrigued to know what it physically looked like. I assume it does not use the WebUI interface?.

  • ISA apps in CRM 2007 still JSP Struct based Web application OR BSP Web UI

    Hi, SDN Experts.

I know that the previous PCUI based applications have been switched to BSP Web UI based applications, but I am not sure about the ISA.

  • CRM 2007 and Internet Sales

    Hello!
I have here a CRM 2007 System that I didn´t installed. And now I should find out if Internet Sales Application (ISA) is installed.
I could not find anything about it on the system.
So I searched for this on the SWDC and only found notes for "SAP INTERNET SALES R/3 4.0".
Is there no current version for CRM 2007? Is it possible that this is already installed on the system?
Sorry, regulary I don´t work with CRM. Some people need this for a web shop configuration.
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,

    Hello!
We found out that this is for CRM 2007 the Web Components which are included in the CRM Java Components.
We wanted to install the Web Components with the JSPM but the JSPM does not show alle packages/components, especially not the Web Components. (Just 5 of 8)
So do we have to install the other components first before we can install the Web Components?
    Please, anyone has an advice?

  • How to upgrade custom ISA 6.0 applications to 7.0 Ehp2

    Hi All,
I have some doubts regarding CRM E-commerce (ISA and ICSS) upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0 ehp2 and setting up track for upgrade.
    Let me expalin our current scenario below;
currently we are running on CRM 6.0 and ISA 6.0 sp17. We have almost 9 separate ISA aaplications for different countries since different type of custom changes are for each countries. Unfortunately we don't have track infrastructure as of now and all our 9 applications are local EAR projects and we are doing changes using NWDS and deploying each applications directly to DEV, QAS, PROD systems.
We understood Its high time for us to move to Track based development. Currently Basis is upgrading our systems to CRM 7.0 Ehp2.
Now we have task in front of us; one is creating track in new upgraded landscape and Upgrading our ISA e-commerce application components to CRM 7.0 Ehp2
    Please answer my questions below.
    1. Can I import my Local Projects in to Track ; if so how?. Is there any easy method to convert my local projects to DC(Since only DC's we can put to track)?  Can I import all my 9 applications in to one track or do I have to create separate track for each application?
    2. If I create one track for custom application(6.0+ my custom changes) and one track for standard 7.0 ehp2, can I merge these 2 tracks together for upgrading to 7.02 . Will it replace all standard changes in 6.0 with 7.02 automatically?
    3. Last but most worrying question is;
If we create an SCA file from our custom Application(6.0 verson)  and then import into a new TRACK, then the TRACK will have our Custom Application.
Then if we do an upgrade by importing the latest version of the standard SCA file, will NWDI merging/collission identification process works well? I mean will it identify our SCA and do the replacement and adjustments on the standard code part?
Please help us on this as this is a very urgent requirement
    Thanking you in advance

    hi ,
answering to ur second point - both are middleware .
with xi as a middleware ( when compared to crm middleware) xi/pi can communicate with both sap and non sap systems . when u say non sap  communication its means communication with http, soap , jdbc( any data base) , file systems, web services etc . further advantage would be that with xi (in place crm system) within the overall landscape can be part of automation process called bussiness process management or process integration(BPM/PI).
while sap crm middleware caters to only sap communication (idocs, bdocs, rfcs, bapi).
further when sap crm middleware used either the sender sysytem or reciever system has to be sap crm .  when xi is used the sender or reciever could be ANY system .

  • New book on CRM 2007 Webclient - Customizing & Development

    Hi,
yesterday I saw that there is a new book coming up on the CRM WebClient 2007 in march. It seems to be focused on developers. It is available through SAP Press, ISBN 978-3-8362-1287-8.
Has anybody had a chance to get a sneak peak at it? What are the contents? Amazon did not have a lot on it and Sappress just posted a short description and the chapters included.
The authors are Michael Füchsle and Matthias Zierke. Does anyone know about the authors?
Looking forward to any information if I should invest in it.
    cheers Carsten

    Hi Matthias,
I really did not mean to offend you or any other author/publisher/etc.. Until now I have not had the opportunity to write a book on something, but I am sure it is a whole lot of work.
However, I really am glad that someone wrote a book about WebClient and I am positive that there is a lot of wisdom in it that will answer many of the "beginner" questions. The fact that it has been published in german first is completely understandable as both authors are german. Moreso I would have found it very sad if the completed german version of the book would be held back until the english one is ready.
    Back on topic:
I regret to say that I still did not have the opportunity to get a look into the book myself. My colleague has recieved it and it is circulating around our company giving WebClient "beginners" a good start.
Has someone else (sorry Stephen, there are native german speakers in here ) had a look at it? I can not believe that no one in the WebClient Forum has read it by now?!
    cheers Carsten

  • How to get the customer fields view in CRM 2007?

    HI Experts,
There is a tab in CRM 4.0 for customer fields(Generated using EEWB).
My question is how can we get these fields into WEB UI?
    I didn't find the Component BTCUSTOMER_H in CRM 2007.
What might be the reason behind it?
    Please share your views.
    Thanks,
    Adi.

    Adi,
You actually got pointed to the wrong blog that I wrote.  However if you read the following blog, it will show you how to do what you want to do:
    /people/stephen.johannes/blog/2008/01/25/crm-40-to-52-customerh-fields
If you want to cheat, then apply latest support stack for CRM 2007 and the fields will be there.  The section 1.13.5 in the SP02 release notes explains that the nodes are now available in CRM 2007 SP02.
Look at this thread on how to view the release notes:
SAP CRM 2007 SP02: DOCUMENTATION RELEASED
If you have any further questiosn let me know.
    Take care,

  • What is used in CRM 2007

    hi  Experts,
I need some clarifications regarding the CRM2007 UI Architecture.
Is Webdynpro ABAP or BSP is avilable in CRM 2007 or both avialable in 2007?
What is the UI stretegy in CRM2007? what is the Architecture of CRM2007?
We are planning to upgrading CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0 ?
Is this CRM 2007 supports the ABAP Webdynpro or BSP or both?
    Regards
    Vijay

    Hi,
CRM 2007 and the new WebClient UI is completely based on BSP. If you have been working with the IC Webclient in CRM before, it is the same technology.
WebDynpro can be called from the CRM WebClient as an external HTTP link.
The UI Strategy... maybe this is what you mean Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) Otherwise ask SAP for some nifty PowerPoint presentations, I suppose they will be happy to provide them to you.
The upgrage from CRM 5.0 to any version above will be considerable effort as nearly all UI parts need to be redone in BSP. However there is the mentioned possibility to call HTTP capable elements via hyperlink. As well there is the transaction launcher which can bring old GUI applications to the new UI (no, not convert them, just show the old application).
    cheers Carsten

  • How to integrate personalize function in CRM 2007 WebUI to portal

    Hello Experts,
I have a requirement in regards to the CRM 2007 and portal integration.
We have integrated a business role from CRM and CRM 2007 WebUI is now an integrated part of the portal. But in this we are missing the 'Personalize' option that is in CRM WebUI in portal.
So can anyone suggest me any solution how to go ahead for the personalize development in enterprise portal.
    Thanks.

    Hello, Aparna,
In CRM 2007 integrated into portal, the links like Personalize are part of so called Masthead iView. To get that view instead of the standard one, you need to configure the portal rules to load CRM desktop, instead of the standard one. You can find the instructions how to do it at the following path:
http://help.sap.com -> SAP Business Suite -> SAP Customer Relationship Management -> SAP CRM 2007 6.0 -> Application Help -> SAP Customer Relationship Management -> Components and Functions -> Basic Functions -> UI Framework and Configuration -> Portal Integration-> Adapting the CRM Portal Desktop
    Sincerely,
    Arman

  • Bounce Management in SAP CRM 2007

    Hi Experts,
we have SAP CRM 2007 and I have a few questions about Bounce Management.
It is a very simple scenario, so it´s fine if only hard bounces for incoming EMails are handled.
    1) Do you need ERMS for that simple form of Bounce Mgt?
    2) Is the Usage of Inetraction Center required? (We do not want to)
    3) Is it possible/recommended to create Activities out of incoming bounces?
    4) Can you segment on Bounces, not only within the Campaign Automation?
    5) What ist the effort/set up to use Bounce Mgt in that simple scenario about?
    Thanks a lot
    Florian

Yes, I was mentioning SAP Note 897730. The major pre-requisite mentioned there is Event linkage settings through SWETYPV transaction and in your case you just need to do the Rule Modeler settings. If you are using DEFAULT policy you do not need to do anything in Service Manager Profile.
    The note pre-requisites mentioned are
The required services and service manager profiles for using the E-Mail Response Management System (ERMS) are defined: All entries necessary for bounce management are delivered in the default Customizing. As I mentioned before Service Manager Profile: Bounce is already defined and you are going to use that profile. The required service in your case would be "Bounce Data Update" or one of the 5 standard service mentioned in this note. These are already defined and taken care of in standard configurations. Therefore, you do not need to do anything over there.
Please do the above two settings and if you have any issues please come back to me. I am sure you won't have any issues with the requirements that you mentioned. I just took one hour to set up hard bounce scenario. Only if you are planning to use services that are not standard it becomes slightly tricky. In our case major issue was that there was an error in the standard workflow. I did not know much about Workflow bindings etc. before, but then I had to dig deep into this and it gave me an opportunity to learn workflows. This was the good thing that came out of all this.
    Regards,
    Deepak
Please note you will have to do the Event Linkage settings in SWETYPV transaction.

    Hi,
We have installed CRM 2007 and upgraded the patchlevel of BBPCRM to SP2. After the patch upgrade we are getting type RABAX_STATE error after we log in through Webclient. We get no errors while logging through SAP GUI. Before the upgradation we were successfully able to login through Webclient. The details of error screen is as follows:
    Error when processing your request
    What has happened?
The URL http://coevhpa4.coekc.com:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ui_frame/BSPWDApplication.do was not called due to an error.
    Note
The following error text was processed in the system CR7 : Syntax error in program CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TREE===CP .
The error occurred on the application server coevhpa4_CR7_00 and in the work process 2 .

    What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system CR7 in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server coevhpa4_CR7_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 2 in transaction ST11 on the application server coevhpa4_CR7_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.

  • How to add new fields to CRM 2007 Web UI

    Hi,
I am new to SAP CRM 2007 and I am interested in how to extend the Web UI, for example adding new fields, to meet the customer requirements. Should I use the EEW or is there another "new and easier" way?
    Thanx & best regards,
    Oliver
Edited by: Oliver Pregler on Jan 30, 2008 5:50 PM

Actually for the new IC webclient UI you have need to take a look at your options:
    1.  New Installation:
Use the EEWB and add the fields.  As part of the EEWB work, you will have a couple of post-processing steps where you will add your generated fields to the new screens.  However this doesn't require any programming.
    2.  Upgrade from CRM 4.0/50
    - New fields to add as part of upgrade
See the directions for new installation
    - Existing fields to add as part of upgrade
--See the blog on the 40/52 CUSTOMER_H migration for transaction fields
--Business Partner fields part of BUT000 available via UI configuration tool, no extra work needed
--Business Partner fields part of tabular extension, manual work required, I am still "perfecting" this method and plan on writing a blog once I have the technique finished.
--Product Attributes - use the transaction CRMM_UI_PROD_GEN and CRMM_UIU_PROD_CONFIG
I know CRM 2007 is based on the same tech foundation as 2006s, with some differences in how the UI tool works and the fact there are some screen layout changes(editable overviews).  The extension procedures are generally the same.  I can answer some of you extension questions based on my work with CRM 52 so far.  It will generally apply to your situation.
BTW:  The PCUI is no longer supported in CRM 2006s and above.  Even the old SAP GUI transactions such as BP, COMM_PRODUCT are removed from the standard CRM menu.   The SAP CRM web client should be used instead now.
    Take care,
    Stephen
