CRM 2007 installation windows 2003 x86

Hi all,
i want to install CRM 2007 to Windows 2003 32 bit and Oracle 10.2g. In CRM 2007 box, Installation Master cd has IM_Windows_386 directory for 32 bit windows, but the problem is, there are only (totaly 3 files with sub directories) 1 bat file named "startinstgui.bat" when i run the "startinstgui.bat" file, it tries to connect someserver...
Start mode: gui (GUI only)
Connection parameters:
  GUIServer host: localhost
  GUIServer port: 21212
Starting...
<<< frog.jar: version 5.4.5  10/19/05  sap.theme: null >>>
"could not connect to host  localhost on port 21212
java.net.ConnectionException: Connection refused: connect
and some input boxes to enter new connection information...
is it possible to install 32 bit server?
if it is, how can i install ?
do you have any idea about my problem. ?
thanx

Oguzhan,
From what I understand CRM 2007 is a 64-bit only application.  Please review http://service.sap.com/pam for more details.

  • Installation of CRM 2007 in Windows with oracle and cluster environment

    Dear Experts,
We are about to start the installation of CRM 2007 (ABAP+JAVA) with
Oracle 10g on Windows x64 in cluster environment. In the SAPINST dialog
box under High availability option, I could see installation options like ASCS
Instance, SCS Instance, First MSCS node, Database Instance, Additional
MSCS Node, Enqueue Replication Server, Central Instance and Dialog
    Instance.
I have gone through the installation guide. I have below queries
regarding the same. Can you please clarify the same
    1) Our requirement is we want to have an ACTIVE-ACTIVE cluster setup
with sap service running in Node A and Database running in Node B. Can
we have this setup in ABAP+JAVA setup
    2) Also,in the SAPINST dialog box as said above except last two
(Central and Dialoge instance) as per standard installation guide are
to be installed in shared drives as per the requirement. But, central
and dialog are said to be installed locally on any one node in MSCS or
in separate server. As per my understanding Dialog instance will be
used for load balancing which we do not require now. Hence I feel this
is optional in our case. Where as Central Instance I am not able to
understand why this option is for? Is it mandatory to be installed or optional. If
so, when I installed it in one of the MSCS node the incase of failover
how does it effect the system. As per my understanding ASCS and SCS
    comprise central instance.
Please clarify and thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In Windows, Paging File Space (Virtual Memory Space) concept is called as similar to Swap space thing  in Linux/Unix OS. Both terms are used for virtual memory concept as per OS.
Minimum 20 GB of Paging File spaces is required for the SAP Installation on Windows. So ,allocate them from different drives  or from single drive partition of your available Hard disk space.
Follow this path [to change your existing Virtual Memory or Page File size in Windows|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc737315%28WS.10%29.aspx].
    Control Panel -> system -> Advanced Tab -> Performance section-Settings -> Advanced Tab -> Virtual Memory ->Change

Hi Markus, yes .pse file is located in the same directory as the saprouter executables.
Also, when I tried to execute sapgenpse get_my_name -p local.pse I got the ff. error:

  • Physical to Virtual Migration Approach for Exchange CCR 2007 on Windows 2003 Ent Edition

    Hi Team,
I am running Two exchange 2007 CCR in my environment on Physical node on windows 2003 ENT edition. MY Hardware is end of life and we are planning to migrate/Converting them into virtual environmnet running Vsphere 5.1.
can any one let me know the best approach to virtualize exchange CCR .
    Exchange CCR details are :-
    Windows 2003 Ent edition.
    Excahnge 2007.
Quorum is configuraed on shared folder.
Exchange Primary replicating Data on Exchange Secondry ..Both Primary and Secondry are having Raid 10 Local Disks.

    Hi Ravi,
you can take a couple of approaches here. First off, I want to make sure you are not wanting to do a P2V conversion, that is taking the OS image that is running on the physical host and, using VMware Converter, create a virtual machine from it. You could do it that way but, depending on how much mail data is there it could take a long time and it's not the preferred approach for Exchange.
I'm going to make a couple of assumptions here:
I'm assuming upgrading to Exchange 2010 is out of the question (if it is not just do that and move mailboxes )
I'm assuming that there is plenty of storage in the vSphere environment to satisfy the requirements of Exchange. Obviously you would have to provide enough storage for all mail data x 2 if you want to continue with CCR.
Your message says "local disks", so I'm guessing the RAID 10 you mention is not available for use for these virtual machines and that you will provide some type of shared storage.
So, if you have enough compute within a vSphere cluster and enough storage (capacity and IO) to satisfy CCR I see two options:
    Leapfrog approach
    1. Shutdown passive
    2. Evict passive from CCR cluster
    3. Create new VM, Clustering services, Exchange/add as passive to the cluster (you could run setup in recovery mode /m:recoverserver, but I don't see why you would want to in a cluster)
    4. Seed databases
    5. Failover
    6. Repeat for other physical
    New Cluster
    1. Create two new VMs
    2. Create new CCR Cluster
    3. Install Exchange active/passive
    4. Move mailboxes
    5. Decomm physicals
Obviously these are very high level but the approaches are straight forward. If this is your only set of Exchange servers in the environment you will have to account for any public folders/system folders, etc. Take some time and check out compute usage in the current environment so you are sure you have plenty of compute in the vSphere environment, especially if you are moving into a shared environment.

  • Recommendations in WCS Installation (Windows 2003)

    Hi,
Two questions about Requisites to install WCS..
    1) Should I install WCS in a Windows 2003 Workgroup or in a Windows 2003 Member Server.
    2) In the procedure Configuring WCS to run as a Domain User, can I use any user in AD or that user must have admin rights...
What the main objective from this procedure?
    Thanks a Lot,
    Andre Lomonaco

    hi Hasan,
Thanks for replying back so quickly.
    Both these pointers didnt help.
The first one just shows how to install GUI on Windows. That's the second step. I am first trying to find out how to do basic telnet on Vision in Windows 2003.
I remember in 11.5.10. In production system, had to bring MSCA Functionality through applying a patch.
My question is : In Vision environment, Do I need to install a patch to get the functionality ? I am not sure at this moment as I can see part of responsibilities already there.
May be I just need to configure the Vision MSCA Environment.
Appreciate if you/ OR Someone could confirm on this. My guess is that it is already installed and it just needs to be configured.
But I just wanted to be doubly sure before changing any configuration.
    Thanks,
    Dhiraj

  • Upgrade window 2003 to Window 2008 R2 approach (Moss 2007)

I have moss 2007 running window 2003 32 bit (1wfe and 1sql server). There quite a few customization that i dont know about. I need to move it to Window 2008 R2 or higher. Anyone have done this? I need a good approach with less risk and impact. I'll build
a new server in window 2008 R2 so it is not an in-place upgrade. I have Moss 2007 SP2, that will work on Window 2008 R2?

    - make sure any/all customizations support 64-bit (for SP2007, this is especially true for iFilters, though occasionally WSP's as well)
    - install 64-bit onto new server
    - add to existing farm -Do you mean adding this using config wizzard?
    - move all services from old server to new server - Do this in central admin? Can i just turn on on new server and leave it still on on the old server?
    - redirect DNS
    - disconnect old server from farm -  Do you mean adding
    this using config wizzard?
    - disconnect old server from domain
    - turn off old server
    - celebrate

  • Window 2003 upgrade to window 2008 R2 for Moss 2007

I am currently running Moss 2007 on window 2003 32 bit. I need to move it to 2008 r2 64bit.
    currently 1sql, 1webapp
i plan to add  64bit webapp(running window 2008 r2 64bit) to the farm, then remove the 32 bit webapp. here are my question
is that an ok approach since msdn recommend remove sql server first?
patch? does it have to be the same level? do i install 64 bit patches on win08 R2 or 32 bit? I am assuming 64 since i am running 64 bit window?
what about custom web part, fab40? do i need to redeploy?
Anyone have step by step instruction?

Refer to the following MSDN article
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd637753%28v=office.12%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
Also refer to the following article on best approaches to upgrade.
    http://www.go4sharepoint.com/Forum/best-approach-upgrade-moss-2007-windows-22904.aspx
And yes, you need to migrate your custom web part and fab40 template manually by redeploying.

  • Oracle 9.2.0.1 software URL for window 2003 server

    I go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html
and download two zip files from Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1) for Windows SERVER 2003.
However, one zip file is for the Oracle installer and the other zip file is for
    9.2.0.3 patch.
There is NO 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server.
Where can I download the 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server (32 bit)?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    From metalink :
    Microsoft Windows 2003 (x86) Version 2003
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 9.2
    Status: Certified
Certification Note: Patch Set 9.2.0.3.0 or higher is required.
That's why when you download 9iR2 for W2003 32-bits, you download the 9.2.0.3.

  • CRM 2007: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED

    Summary
My colleagues and I are making a clean CRM 2007 installation. Using campaigns in the webclient creates exceptions, though this was not always so. We've created no custom programs, but did make customizing and webclient modifications. Creating campaigns in the backend gives a OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED runtime error.
    Web Client exceptions
In the web client two actions create an exception:
    1) Deleting a campaign
    2) Going to 'create campaign', but instead of saving choosing 'cancel'.
An error occurred during event processing in view ../../sap/BSP_DLC_OVW/OvwViewset.htm
    An exception has occurred
    Cannot display view CPGOE_DETAILS/OVEFDetails
    An exception has occurred
The details text (not shown here) differs.
Testing view CPGOE_DETAILS/OVEFDetails in de component workbench gives the following exception:
    Cannot display view MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL/OVChannels
    An exception has occurred
Exception Class      CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL - Dereferencing of the NULL reference
    Method:      CL_MKTPRJ_COMMCHNL_UTIL=>GET_CONFIG_DATA
    Source Text Row:      44
    Backend runtime error
I went to the backend, because I wanted to test whether the same functionality gave errors there as well. When using the marketing planner (CRM_MKTPL), creating a campaign (or any other object) gives a runtime error.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not caught in procedure "CREATE_PROJECT" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause. Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing') access a component (variable: "LR_MKTPROJECT"). An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class) before it can be used to access components. Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the CLEAR statement.
Deleting old campaigns is possible in the backend, without errors.
    Customizing
We changed the communications channels for campaigns. Three own entries were added, the old ones were deleted (including underlying entries). We've tried restoring the deleted entries, but this does not stop the webclient exceptions or marketing planner errors.
A new configuration was made for view CPGOE_DETAILS/OVEFDetails, by copying the configuration to a config key we use. The exceptions happen both on the new configuration as on the old standard business role.
    Question
What is the issue underlying the exceptions and runtime error? Are the two issues connected? It seems like the system looks for a non-existant entry, but which one?
I have searched for SAP notes for this problem, but have not found anything relevant. If useful I can post the full exception errors. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,
have you managed to solve this one?
I haven't configured the UI framework yet and I'm getting this error:
This happens when I try to create a new Campaign with transaction CRM_MKTPL on the frontend.
    Kind regards
    Jeanine
