CRM 5.0 upgrade issue - workflow didn't update deadline

I'm working on our testing system that upgraded to CRM 5.0. The workflow started and routed correctly, but it didn't change activity deadline and employee responsibility.
In the object method, we CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CHANGEMULTI' and FUNCTION 'BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_SAVE' to change deadline and employee responsibility. It works in our current production system, but it didn't work in our new upgraded system. I don't know why.
Who can tell me what's the problem and how to fix this problem?

Hi,
Was wondering if someone can share the experience in upgrading mobile clients. We have gone through a lot of trouble [12% failure rate on 1500+ clients] and although a lot of efforts, we do not seem to get rid of this percentage. Main issues: ClientUpgradeTarget starts deploying old versions still on the laptop, expected admin credentials are often not applied by the mechanism since registry key deletions are not executed, SQL server timeouts during tablescripts and so on. The upgrade reporting [CRM tables SMOGSYSMON and SMOGSYSMP] is not helpful as well and so it is difficult to keep track of what is in the field.
I've looked for other alternative distribution mechanisms but the pain is that it will difficult to manage the active site user base [which is available through SMOEAC]
Management [sounds like Carnivale] wants to get it done through a "single button push".
Any advice or view would be appreciated,

Your failure rate for off-field-release-upgrades looks still pretty low to me from my own experience. Surely a push-button-upgrade would be nice, but the upgrade procedure still has some serious problems in it. The only doable way is deinstalling the old version with another SW-management tool and then re-deploying the (new version of the) application. However for the site assignment one has to do a bit of work and writing some own procedures (reading out the old site_id and setting it again in the new client).
If you are talking about regular upgrades via packages, this should not happen; but it is absolutely necessary to have exact the same installation on the clients in order to use the SAP SW deployment successfully.

CRM 2007 Java Upgrade to CRM 7.0 EHP2

Hi All,
I performed dual stack split in CRM 2007 with separate DB for ABAP and JAVA. For upgrading CRM 2007 I tried generating solman XML file. For CRM 2007 Java, the target is chosen as CRM 7.0 EhP2, but the Net weaver components are showing the current version 700 SP21. I tried couple of times still NW 7.00 SP21 (current version) only appearing for target in solman. In Abap side, I got NW 7.03 as target for CRM 7.0EHP2 upgrade. Please advise what could be wrong.

First, you have to use EHPi installer to do this upgrade. Second, for EHP2 upgrade, MOPZ is must because you need stack file that you can get from MOPZ only. Also, patches for EHP2, you can get from MOPZ only.

HT4623 I updated to iOS 6.1, now the mail application will not load. My settings for each email account are still in there, I have synched several times, and rebooted several times. Sill nothing. Why is there no support for upgrade issues ??

I refuse to pay for support for an issue caused by an upgrade. That is just ridiculous.

I'm having the exact same problem. When I select an email the mail application pauses for a couple seconds, the screen goes black and then I go to the home screen. Have you found anything more on this issue? Didn't have this problem before upgrading to 6.1.

Upgrade issues OBIEE 10g to 11g along with OBIA upgrade

I have to upgrade OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 to OBIEE 11.1.1.5 along with OBIA 7.9.6.1 to 7.9.6.5(Informatica 8.6.1 to 9.0.1) at my client location and I have very little knowledge on it. and want to know/have help documents for upgrade.
And if anyone in the forums involved in upgrade please list the errors/issues occured during upgrade and after upgrade.
1. OBIEE 10g to 11g upgrade issues??
2. OBIA OBIA 7.9.6.1 to 7.9.6.5 upgrade issues along with 10g to 11g??
3. Informatica 8.6.1 to 9.0.1 upgrade issues??

HR - PA upgrade issue (4.6C to ECC6.0)

dear all,
we are currently in the process of upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6.0
and we found this minor issue in the submodule PA:
using tcode pa20/pa30 we can not see any record of IT0000 Actions using 'overview'
but the all the detail actions can be displayed..
the overview (mountain icon) can't show all the records- only happen when we want to overview the infotype IT0000 Actions.
but all the details that we have recorded in IT0000 Actions, can still be displayed (using spectacle icon)
this is only happen in IT0000 Actions
all other infotypes can be overviewed using 'mountain icon' and can be displayed using 'spectacle icon' as normal condition.
anyone ever gone through the same issue?
we have updated patch for SAP HR : SP 32 and EA 7.
the authorization is SAP ALL.

2. after we do the backup of HR table T512W, before upgrading your HR support package, then we upgrade the support package and after that..
is it right that we need to restore the table? or that the back up is use to do cross check on the content of the T512W after upgrade?

Report generation toolkit upgrade issues

I have created multiple vi's in that utilize the previous report generation toolkits specifically using the Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi and the Generate Report Set Modified Data.vi. Obviously the report reference has now changed in 8.6's version of the report generation toolkit and these vi's do not exist in the 8.6 library anymore. What vi's do I need to replace these functions with to make this code work. Can anyone tell me what the work around is to solving this problem. This is a picture of the code.

Hi BJD1613,
The Report Generation VIs on the LabVIEW Palettes mutate properly. However, you may run into upgrade issues if VIs distributed with LabVIEW, but not available in the Palettes are used in the code. Hence, I would caution against using them for the same reason.
In this case, the specific references do exist in the report generation classes; however, since they are private, they cannot be accessed by VIs outside the respective classes. A temporary workaround for now is mentioned in the following KB 4OOCSJ4M Getting References in Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.3 with LabVIEW 8.6.
This was reported to R&D (CAR# 123064) for further investigation

EHP Upgrade Issue - Java Stack

We're currently on 4.6b and going to upgrade to ECC6 with unicode I'm trying to compile a list point taken care converting to unicode from ABAP technical point of view. Does anyone have such a list?
Some points i shortlisted are :
1) Use GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD rather than WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD.
2) Structures or table headers that contain non-character data need to be identical when moving, comparing, selecting into, updating from, etc.
3) OPEN DATASET filename IN TEXT MODE FOR INPUT ENCODING DEFAULT.
I know there are others. Any help would be appreciated.

Errors in Forte 3.5 -Upgrade issue

hello ,
We are having a frequent disruption in the communication SO which has an
externalConnection Class. Did anything change in 3.5? We did not have
these errors in 3L!
After these erros, we have a mutex locking problem which leaves our
application hanging.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

R12 upgrade issue:Not able to login using forms:Please help****urgent

We have recently upgraded our instance from 11.5.9 to 12.0.4 in Windows 2003 server.
We are unable to login to forms after upgrade, however we are able access self service responsibilities without any issues.
We are getting APP-FND-01496 when we access any forms responsibility. We have tried all possible metalink notes with no luck.
Any help to resolve this issue will be appreciated.

ECC 6.0 EHP-4 upgrade Issue in phase MAIN SHDRUN/ALTNTAB FILL were negative

Hi Basis Expert,
while doing ECC 6.0 EHP-4 Upgrade in MAIN_SHDRUN/ALTNTAB_FILL phase we are getting the following issue please help us.
Checks after phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ALTNTAB_FILL were negative!
Last error code set: BATCH JOB RDDNT2MT FAILED: Error(s) found in the log(s), accumulated in "ALTNTFI.ELG".
We check the shadow instance is up and we can log in to the system. Check ST22 and SM21 notice no error.
Check the JOB RDDNT2MT (SM37) successfully running and all the job finish without any error.
Hope anybody can share a bit your experience on this issue. we try search the note and find the forum but no luck.

It looks from your log that shadow system is not able to connect to database. Please check your shadow system. Check below link as well:

Media Go Installation/Upgrade Issues

A user of Media Go since day one, I was informed that there was an upgrade (version 1.7) and preceeded to install it... Unfortunately, The installation failed.
According to the Media Go installation (in a dialog box):
There was an error during the installation.
Could not access network location \\STORA\ FamilyLibrary\Desktop\.
Would you like to submit additional error information?
In the main installation window in the background, one can see:
There was an error during the installation.
Could not access network location \\STORA\FamilyLibrary\Desktop\.

One or more features could not be installed. The installation has been stopped.
Click Cancel to exit.
After a lot of mucking around, I un-installed Media Go and attempted to install both versions 1.5 and version 1.6, however I received the same error message both times.
For those that are aware of NETGEAR's Stora products, users must login to a Notification Area (system tray) application called "Stora Agent" , and also login to the network resource via Explorer - I have done this and the folders mentioned above (\\STORA\FamilyLibrary\Desktop\) are available to all applications... Further to this, Media Go was able to access this folder without issue prior to the update/re-installation.
Any ideas?

It seems that Media Go is not able to gain access to the folder.
What if the folder (drive) were not log in protected during install? Maybe that could be a possible solution. As I understand, there is no problem for you to install Media Go on a local drive?

IDSM-2 - upgrade issue - 5.x to 6.x

Hello All,
I have an issue upgrading the IDSM-2 module I'm playing with.
It is currently running version 5.0(2).
The thing is when I try to upgrade the image to the latest 6.x version using the .bin.gz file, I get the follwing error message :
The filename IPS-IDSM2-K9-sys-1.1-a-6.1-2-E3.bin.gz is not a valid upgrade file type.
Continue with upgrade? []:
There is no image file that is not .bin.gz on the download section of the website. Only recovery images have the .pkg extension.
Does anybody how to troubleshoot this simple(I guess) upgrade issue?

You are trying to "upgrade" using a "System Image" (-sys-) file instead of an Upgrade file.
The upgrade file for the IDSM-2 is the standard upgrade file used across almost all IPS/IDS models:
IPS-K9-6.1-2-E3.pkg
