CRM 640 APPINT 200_620 with new PI 7.00 landscape

To enable the CRM system to work in the old XI environment we installed the Exchange Infrastructure Integration Server 2.00 (APPINT 200_620) but we will soon be upgrading the XI landscape to PI 7.00.
I have looked for relevant notes and any other information but I am now stuck.
Does anybody know if the new version of PI will work with this Add-on/Plug-in or can anybody point me in the direction of any resoureces that I might have missed?

The APPINT 200_62 is not dependend from the PI version.
You need this for an application system based on WAS 6.20.
You can connect that application system to any PI system, any version.

Refreshing CRM's Account and Contact list with new data

Hi Folks, I am very new to CRM and was tasked with a new job of refreshing our CRM's account and contact listing.
We get a new list in Excel every now or so from a commercial vendor that compiles list of companies and key contacts and sends it out to subscribers.
I cleaned out this Excel data so there is a:
1) Contact List
2) Account List
3) Contact + Account
that can be directly mapped to fields in CRM.
What I need to do is, make sure none of our existing data is deleted. If there is a matching account (eg. company A) then only the phone no, address, website will be updated. If there is a matching contact again do the same.
If there is no matching account in CRM, then create new account and all corresponding contacts.
Anyone done something similar, can you please suggest the optimal way to go around this? Thank.

When you do an import in On demand , you can select the appropriate choice in the Step 1 of your import wizard.
you can select to import the account with the on demand predefined fields where in you can import via account and location.
In case when duplicate is found you can opt for a overwrite of existing records and when no duplicate is found then you can ask for a new record creation.
the same way you can do for contacts.
By this method you can be sure that records are not lost and new records are created if there is no existing record.\

I am using CRM 5.0. I just forgot that Categorization profile can be used for the same.
I have configured the categorization profile for the same and its working fine.
One more thing -
I want to create an Appointment with Customer for problem resolution at the Customer Site. I want to assign Resorces to the Appointment so that the responsible resource is notified and sent to the Customer Site for Visit.
Can you pls guide me on the same?

Dv7-3169 replaced my 640 hard drive with a 500 hard drive can i use my recovery disks

hard drive is failing on dv7-3169 laptop i have replaced the 640 hard drive with a new 500 hard drive, the recovery disks start to work and then say cannot set up partition on hard drive or install recovery system

i bought this new oem at computer rennaisance. they tell me it does not matter the size of the hard drive, even though it is small er than the one that came in computer. they said make sure new hard drive is initialized. how can i initialize when there is no operating system on hard drive.if i initialize Computer Rennasaince said I should be able to use my recovery disks. cannot initialize without operating system. Migration of old system with new version and 64bit hardware

Our req: Build New CRM system with all latest version of software & 64 bit hardware. Details mentioned below.
Old System:
CRM 4.0 ABAP System
win 2003
Oracle 9i
non-unicode
32 bit hardware
New System( which i want to build):
CRM 5.2 (rampup version) ABAP+JAVA
win 2003
Oracle 10g
Unicode
64 bit hardware
Above mentioned is an new requirement for us.
Our Plan:
1. Old system -Conversion from non-unicode to Unicode system
2. Old system - System copy export method for create exports
3. Build New system with new unicode version(5.2) with Old system exports
Questions to Sapguru's:
1. Our plan will work or not?
a. If Yes - give me the guidelines ,Notes ,documentation paths
b. If No - Please provide your opinions/advices
2. 32 bit exports will work on 64 bit hardware SAP system?

My oldsystem is non-unicode system. As you said i will do system copy export method on old system(non-unicode) then i will use that exports(non-unicode) to build new system.

Will that exports(non-unicode) work while installing new system with unicode? or Will it give any problem?

1. will old system with oracle 9i exports work on new system with oracle 10g?

Screen resolution with new graphics card

Mac G4 400 AGP (Sawtooth) OS9.2.2 + Tiger
Hi, I have just updated my old G4 with new HD and new Nvidia GeForce 2MX graphics card. Under OSX everything seems fine but under OS9 the screen (22 Lacie Electron) will only display at 640 x 480 with no other choice of resolutions. I cannot find any drivers other than the Driver Update 3.0v1.1 which gives a message that it 'cannot be run on this computer'.
The original ATI Rage had extensions but I cannot find anything for the Nvidea card - do I nee to reinstall the OS to have them load?
Is this lack of resolution normal or can I change it? I only boot onto OS9 to access some older SCSI devices but the screen re is horrible and makes it hard to use.

The OS 9.2.2 download updater includes NVIDIA drivers (v. 2.4), but they probably would not have been installed if the NVIDIA card was not in the machine at the time the updater was run.
You can probably get them installed them by re-running the OS 9.2.2 updater, now that the card is present.
Or, you can extract them manually from the Installation Tome contained in that download update. You can use the utility TomeViewer to extract (expand) any files you want from an Installation Tome on an OS Install CD or download disk image, without running the installer. There are several NVIDIA extensions; since the default view in TomeViewer is alphabetical, you should be able to grab all of them as a group. Extract (expand) them to the desktop, then (while booted to OS 9) drop them into the closed System Folder - Finder will place them for you.
How to use TomeViewer
I would do the second, since it is safer (there's no risk of the installer accidentally replacing something which should not be replaced).

After getting the NVIDIA extensions installed, restart. Then use Extensions Manager to turn off (uncheck) the ATI extensions. Restart again.

after restoration i am able to connect R3trans but when i started SAP MMC processes get ended err 1
Task performed
Backup = Offline backup of PRD server ECC5.0
Database = MAX Db 7.5
Restoration method= Backup restore Method
Kernel level 129
error DISP+WORK not working
r3trans output:

This is r3trans version 6.09 (release 640 - 26.10.04 - 15:45:42).

r3trans finished (0000).

The way you have done homogeneous System copy ,same way you can do system copy with different SID.
You have to take online of oflline backof your system.
Create the control file to trace from source system
alter database copy control file to trace ;
Restore backup into target system.
copy control.trc into taget system
Edit the control trace file and change following line to
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "SRC SID" NORESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
to
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "SRCSID" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
and add just below it as
set database u2018SIDu2019 --->New sid
Please move the control file from source system into different location after restoration of backup into the target system.
AND THEN DO THE RECOVERY.
It will recreate your new system with new SID.

WiFi no longer working with new Time Capsule-can you help please?

Hi all,
Just received my new Time Capsule (TC). It was a little problematic setting up, but probably due to my now choosing to increase my security from WEP to WPA as the TC set-up assistant suggests. Since then, I have had numerous problems getting my other computers and now my iPhone to connect with WiFi.
The problem is that despite entering all the new settings and WPA passwords for my connection with the TC, the iPhone will either momentarily recognize and go to wifi or simply stay on Edge.
On the former, with wifi active, as soon as I go to iTunes, Safari or check email, it reverts to Edge. On the latter, despite resetting, entering password, or tapping Settings and selecting my wifi connection, it will NOT connect and stays on Edge.
(Now, I'm on Edge! I'm bummed that with new hardware I have new problems that didn't exist before!)
Can someone who had this same problem tell me how they resolved it.
Here's the one clue I have, but would rather not resort to: When I first set up the TC, I had it on WEP with a WDS Network, and everything was working great and FAST! Now that I have increased the security—I will be backing up 3 computers to the TC—my iPhone and other computers seem to have intermittent or no wifi connection as a result.)

If your computers are 802.11N capable, you might want to try an advanced setup that might help your Time Machine speeds some. I have not personally tested it, so it is just a personal theory at this point.
First, in a mixed environment the 802.11N clients all get slowed down.
First, configure the TC for 802.11N only.
Second, connect the Airport Express via ethernet to the Time Capsule
Third, configure the Airport Express for bridged mode (doesn't give out IP addresses), and for its own wireless network with a different name than the Time Capsule.
Have any 802.11b/g clients like the iPhone join the Airport Express' network.

Thanks. I got the problem fixed. Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor. It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner. Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail. I checked all the specifics between the three units. It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com to TWC.com. Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.

In BI 7.0,
we cannot add a characteristic to an existing dimension if the data is not deleted from the cube.
It can go to a new dimension and that will not change the existing structure of the cube tables, but will just add to it (as another dim table). or use remodeling.
