It worked for us.
You have to act in two directions:
1) the CRM config in the field 'Parameter Name for Custs:' should get the name of the info-set for which you need to extract the data.
For instance if the info-set is 0BPARTNER, that is the value to set.
2) the BW query should not have a carachteristic and a variable, but only the carachteristic (which is the info-set that you are referencing to in the CRM).
After this changes have been done, the system works fine.

Hello
You have to define mapping between CRM and ERP customer. The information which customer is associated with which BP is stored in CRM in table CRMM_BUT_CUSTNO and but0id. Use transaction PIDE on the ERP side to form mapping. Then work with load of customers.
Such error appears when data about BP is entered in document directl but system couldn't find mapping in tables above. Hope it helps.

Hi Ashish,
'CRMM_LOCMAP' is the R/3 CRM Business partner Mapping table based on APO Location.
'CRMM_BUT_CONTNO' is the outbound mapping for R/3 contact person, 'CRMM_BUT_CUSTNO' is the outbound mapping for R/3 Customer.
If you can tell me specifically what is that you are looking for, I might be able to tell the exact table.

Business Partner creation for Customer Master creation

Hi
We have customized our system in order to trigger the creation of Business Partner whenever a Customer Master is created.
I created some customers for which the Business Partner creation was not triggered due to some reason.. In order to manage the same, i created a Business Partner manually and tried to link the same to my customer through T Code FLBPD2, but system returned with a message "The business partner could not be linked to the customer selected" Message Number CVIC_UI023.
Can anyone suggest something.

please, could you give me an advice where I can find a query which contents Business Partner Catalogue Numbers? I mean, I have the main supplier and a lot of "secondary" suppliers. I would like to see catalogue numbers from our system for all suppliers.

Business Partner Creation in custom program

Hi All,
I am trying to crate Business Partner in my custom program using the BAPI BAP_BUPA_Create. The newly created BP is getting created & updated in BUT000 table, but it not updating in KNA1 table. As per my furrther requirement the new BP should be available in KNA1 table.
Can anyone please help me out to resolve this issue.

Hi,
Try checking the inputs of BAPI for reference customer details. In order to get the data in KNA1 (link to R/3 system) reference customer has to be maintained.
Settings for reference customer can be done in SPRO.

Relink CRM Business partner with customer in ECC

Hi all,
In our organization, most business partner master data is automatically replicated with ECC.
Table BUT0ID contains the link between a BP and customer on ECC.
For some reason it happens regularly that a CRM BP gets a wrong link.
I.e. BP 80001234 is by accedent linked to 80001000, but it should be 80001234.
I'm asked to provide a solution to change this link.
With BAPI's 'BAPI_IDENTIFICATION_DELETE', 'BAPI_IDENTIFICATION_CHANGE' and/or 'BAPI_IDENTIFICATION_REMOVE' it's easy to modify table BUT0ID properly.
But whatever I change, the replication is still carried out on the wrong customer.
Afters hours of debugging and tracing I couldn't find the reason. Is there perhaps an other table to change?
Did any of you have the 'golden tip' for me to fully Relink?

I wanted to know, how do we find out, that a BDOC of type BUPA_MAIN in SMW3_BDOC will be a customer or a Business Partner.
Is there some way to know this thing.

Hi Rishav,
Here is how you can find it out.
In transaction smw01, you get get the BP number. In trancaction BP in CRM. you can check the role of the BP. Then you can check the clasification that is mapped to this role of BP. Then in ERP go to transaction PIDE and check the mapping from from CRM->ERP. There you can find the Account group mapped to this classicication.You can find all the customer account groups in ERP using transaction OVT0.
All these account groups would be mapped to customers in ERP.

Material vs. Products and Business Partner vs. Customer and Vendor

Hi,
Just wondering if there's any SAP recommendation for using 'Products' repository vs. Material repository. Similarly, is there any SAP recommendation for using 'Business Partner' repository vs. Customer and Vendor repositories.
Can anyone would like to shed some light on what is recommended with pros and cons? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Mins,
you can group the repositories in the following way:
Group 1
- Material
- Vendor
- Customer
Group 2
- Product
- Business Partner
Repositories of Group 1 are related to the corresponding R/3 (ERP) data models. The repositories cover a large part of the R/3 fields and can be used to integrate your R/3 systems with MDM as they contain import and syndication maps for R/3.
Repositories of Group 2 are related to the common CRM and SRM data model. Those repositories have been developed with the goal to integrate CRM, SRM and R/3 with MDM. Unfortunately the structure of the Group 1 repositories was not capable to fullfill this. Group 2 repositories contain import and syndication maps to all remote systems (CRM, SRM, R/3). But those repositories are not as large as the Group 1 as the first task of the Group 2 repositories was the data consolidation scenario.
There is no general recommendation which repository to use. It depends on the project setup on customer side:
- If you want to use MDM for R/3 only, it makes sense to use Group 1
- If you want to use MDM for R/3 only, but you want to consolidate your customers and vendors in one single repository, you should use the Business Partner Repository because this one can hold both object types
- If you want to use MDM for CRM and SRM, you should use Group 2
So a general recommendation could be to check the Master Data setup and landscape within your project and then to choose the corresponding repository.

CRM Business Partner number ranges

Could anyone comment on the following:
"The number ranges for Employees, Vendors and Customers must be different <in the backend>.
In ECC, these 3 are saved in different tables and this allows them to have overlapped number ranges.
But the CRM design is differs. The three of them are saved as Business Partners in one single table. Therefore you need to design and customize the number ranges in order to avoid the overlapping between these 3 in CRM"

That is correct. All types of organisations, internal organisations, and persons are saved in one table in crm, BUT000 using the so called SAP Central Business Partner (which exists also in ERP, but is used only for the ISU solutions, not in standard ERP).
Therefore the number ranges for these objects need to be non-overlapping. However, one needs to evaluate first whether all the objects you mention are really needed. It is also possible to see the original R/3 number in the identification tab (or in table BUT0ID).

Do we need to send the Business partner functions while creating record in R3 thru MDM.
For any account group i pass the Idoc is expecting all Business partner functions to be defined for the account group to which am trying to create Customer.(As SH,BP,PY..)

In ECC partner functions are used when you have multiple addresses for the same customer. The partner function links those address records together. You could have multiple unique customer numbers on the KNA1 table, but in the KNVVP table (partner functions) you maintain the linkage between the main table records.
Partner functions are not recommended in MDM. These are generally not considered to be "enterprise level attributes" and therefore shouldn't reside in your customer repository in a central create scenario. Additionally, some of the complexity required to model partner functions can't be modeled in MDM at this time. When 7.1 comes out, there is a new data type called "tuples" which supports deeply nested structures, and therefore you could model a true partner function table inside the sales area table.

Create Business Partner from foreing customer

Hi all.
I have a problem. When I create a customer by transaction XD01, if customer is Spanish (I'm in Spain),
business partner is created automatically, I see this is right in transaction BP. But if I create a foreing customer, business partner isn't created, I mean, in transaction BP, the new customer doesn't exist.
Could you help me?

I am not sure, whether the issue is in R/3 or in CRM. If the issue is there when you try to create an overseas customer via XD01, then you need to check the partner determination procedure configuration. If the issue is there when you execute BP, then you need to check in CRM. By the way, what is the message system was popping up and in which transaction code.

We need to Download ERP "Plant" into CRM as a Business Partner with an External Number Range, using the Plant number as the "External" Number.
