CRM Content Management in CRM 2007

Currently, we are upgrading our CRM system from 4.0 to CRM 2007. In 4.0 this is how, we used to assign the content management alias in IMG.
CRM->Basic Functions->Content management->Define Alias for MS office Integration in the People-Centric.
What should we do in CRM 2007?
Secondly, we used to Define Document templates in the following way.
CRM->Basic Functions -> Content Management -> Define document Templates
This path in IMG is missing. Is there any other alternete way in CRM 2007.
Thirdly, in 4.0, we implemented the BAdi CRM_DOC_TEMPL_BADI for custom attributes and filters. How is it done in CRM 2007?
I greatly appreciate your kind answer.
Anna

Hi Anna,
When you say "Letters View", are you talking about the assignment block "Attachments". I dont see any letters view in my Sales role.
Regarding your other question,
One thing is that I don't see a connectivity between the IMG activity and the object designed in the Template designer. Am I missing something else?
Well in the customizing we are barely defining anything apart from the transaction type. This transaction type has a Business Category say-BUS2000126.
Now in the template designer we are saying that we are defining the webtemplate for the BO BUS2000126..Thats how they get linked. All the BUS2000126 objects will have that link then.
Let me try configuring it for BUS1006 object as is in your case.
Thanks,
Anand

  • CRM Content Management and KM

    Hello Everyone,
We are looking to roll out portal integration to our CRM system using the PC-UI iViews. The customer is wanting to utilize the Content Management functionality within the PC-UI/CRM application.
What I am interested in is configuring CRM to STORE the documents from the PC-UI into the KM Repository. There is documentation that describes how to setup a KM WebDAV Repository to view documents stored in CRM through KM. We want to do the opposite and store the CRM documents directly in KM.
My hypothesis is that there is WebDAV support in both products and I 'should' be able to configure CRM to look at KM as 'just an other WebDAV' repository (a'la Content Server)
    Ideas? Confusion?

    Hi Robetro and Craig,
Can you please let me know if you have found a solution for this.
I have a similar requirement wherein I need to store CRM Content Management documents in KM.
    Thanks in advance.

    Limitations on :
Size (video can be large) ,
    type (wmv, avi, jpeg...) ,
total number (max number of file on the server),
    access time.

  • Problem with CRM Content Management

    Hi all,
I'm trying to specify a default folder template to use in business transactions, in order to show a default path in "Attachments" tab.
I have configurated my template folder using the following IMG path:
    CRM-Basic Functions-Content Management-Define Templates for Folders.
Now I suppose that I have to assign this template to a business object (for example, BUS2000111) in similar way as when I assign a folder path to a business partner role (CRM-Master Data-Business Partner-Basic Settings-Assign Templates for Content Management Folder to BP Roles).
The problem is that I can't find the exact customizing point to do this.
It's neccesary for the described configuration use the Document Modeler Workbench (DMWB)?
It's possible to configure a default folder for business transactions or it's only a business partners or products feature?
    Could anybody help me please?

    Dear Jai,
You can create your templates with the Template designer -
more information in the Help Portal under Link

    /f8/ba29b001be455d89764cf29c6a19fb/frameset.htm
(or search in the  CRM2007 Help with Template Designer).
A template can created with or without  Web Service.
If the data of the object should transfered at runtime in the template,
you have to define with the Web Service Tool a "Read"
    - Web Service, which contains the required data. Afterwards you
should choose these service by creation of the document.
Please consider the information in notes  1018674, 818685, 754246
    and 606745!
I hope that the given information is helpful!

Thanks for replying - unfortunately, there is not much
    support on these forums.
I wish there was some way to emulate the mouse from
Javascript to click the play, pause, and slider buttons... but one
would't even know, programmatically, the location on screen of the
    play, pause, and slider buttons.

  • Content management

I have the few questions regarding Content Management in SAP CRM:
I am using SAP CRM 4.0, SP 7.
    The requirement is as follows:
A legacy system has say 40 accounts (having various fields) and all the accounts have multiple documents for each account. All the documents are residing in a file server. This scenario has to be replicated in SAP CRM.
I have uploaded the accounts data in BP master data using Legacy System Migration Workbench tool (transaction LSMW).
Now, coming to the documents, I want to use the ‘Documents’ tab of BP in SAP CRM to attach all the documents for a particular account. For this, I want to know is there any function module or BAPI or report using which I can attach the documents corresponding to the particular BPs. The aim is to get the list of documents from the file server to the SAP CRM content management and attach those to the respective BPs.
(I looked into the class CL_CRM_DOCUMENTS, but I am not able to get the exact methods or function modules which can used for this purpose)
Since, I will be using the ‘Documents’ tab of Business Partner to attach the documents. I would like to know how can I add a few custom attributes to the SAP CRM content management documents; these attributes are in addition to the already existing attributes like, Created By, Default Doc, Expiry time; Language, Name etc.
(I think I can do this using Document Modeling Workbench (transaction DMWB); but I am not able to do this. Can you please list the steps on how to do this?)
Also, once the custom attributes are added I would like to know which database table(s) gets enhanced so that I can fill the attribute values and see the same on the screen.
(I was able to get one table SDOKPHCL, which has all the attribute fields but don’t know if this is correct and if there are other tables as well).
    Best Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hello
I found your message in the forum and we are studying exactly the same question at the moment. I wonder if you found a solution to your question. We need to import documents to the documents tab of BP in CRM as well. Did you find a suitable function module or some other solution for this?
We are also searching database tables relevant for the documents and the link between BP and documents. Do you know anything about this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Seija

  • A website "Content Managment System" with CRM

    hi all,
we're looking into revamping our company's website. It'll be mostly a B2B website (in the future b2c). We're looking into finding a Content Managment System (CMS) that can handle most of the work so people form our marketing department will be making change without manipulating the code. Most importantly we need the website to be able to link into our SAP CRM. The only simliar products i was able to find was CoreMedia and Sybit. Do you guys recommend any kind of a CMS?
    Thanks you in previous!

    Hi Samer,
the only integration supported by SAP is the integration with an SAP Enterprise Portal. However, SAP Internet Sales can be easily and extensively modified to fit virtually any needs. Maybe you could have a look at the "Development and Extension Guide" for E-Commerce which is available from the [SAP Service Marketplace|https://service.sap.com/crm-inst] (-> SAP CRM 2005 -> CRM Core and Standalone Components) and which shows many ways to fit the webshop to your needs.
    Best regards,

  • Document management in CRM mobile

    Hi
We are evaluating options to provide most updated product documentation to field sales and service technicians. The goal is to let users have access to sales and service documents offline. I remember back in CRM 4.0 days SAP provides an addon product called backweb /infocenter. It will provide offline content through MSA or MSV applications. That is no longer supported in CRM 5.0 and CRM 2007.  Has anyone implemented alternative solution to backweb?
    Thanks
    Ming

    Hi Ming,
Backweb integration with CRM 5.0 is disabled. It was a
    limitation for .5.0
Unfortunately there is no alternative to replace backweb.
Infocenter backweb is also not supported with CRM 2007.
    Regards,
    Gervase
