CRM Email Header - From Address

How do I update the CRM Email header "From Address" with the individual names of our Call Center Agents?

Hi Micheal,
It is by design BUG-OM 537040. In Exchange 2013 for a Read Receipt Response on the P2 header's From Address it just has the User Alias it doesn't have the Complete Email Address, but on previous versions it is not the case it has the complete email address.
When this Response from external address is sent and if it goes through an External Anti-spam like postini,messagelabs,ironport etc., since it doesn't find the complete address it adds @domain.invalid and processes the message further so the Recipient
of the message will have the Sender address showing as
[email protected] and also it will say so and so mail not authorized.

I am suddenly not getting email on my MacBook Pro, but am receiving e-mail on my iPhone. I'm getting message "Warning Recent errors logged" It repeatedly states "The Header From: address <postoffice> is not authorised - please go to control add PHP" But I only have 1 email address. I'm afraid to add anything on since I don't even know what this other e-mail address is. What should I do? And would this definitely be the cause of my not receiving e-mail?

I pressed check again and here is what appeared:

• Setting Message-ID email header from Oracle B2B backend in 11g

Hi,
Is it possible to set the Message-ID from the backend application via JMS header? Is there a JMS header exposed to set this message id in case of email transport? Will the email server able to honor this value that we set and send to Oracle B2B in 11g and send it as the email header (Message-ID)? Is this possible?
The idea here is if my backend application can set this Message-ID value of the request message, then the response message which would be a reply to the initial message will have the value of the Message-ID in the property in-reply-to. Now if this in-reply-to is also exposed an a JMS header to the backend application, then i will be able to co-relate the request and the response messages.
Please let me know at the earliest if this would be possible.
Regards
Kavitha

Kavitha,
Is it possible to set the Message-ID from the backend application via JMS header? Yes, please set the MSG_ID header (jca.jms.JMSProperty.MSG_ID). It will be used as Message-ID in Wire Message.
, then i will be able to co-relate the request and the response messages.Generic Mail does not support correlation as of now. You may consider logging an enhancement request with support. If you are exchanging XML messages then you may consider using content based correlation at B2B.

• How to send an email with from address not as a SAP user id

Hi,
sender = cl_sapuser_bcs=>create ( pv_user ).
I am using the above piece of code to send an email.
In the method "CREATE" , I CAN PASS ONLY THE SAP USER ID.
But i want to pass the email address (user) which does not a SAP user id?
how to do this.

Hi Brad Bohn,
I have coded like below. I could see the mail in SOST, in that from address is as 'myname'.
But the mail does not reaches to the recipient.
Can you tell me where the problem is?
DAta:: from_addr TYPE REF TO CL_CAM_ADDRESS_BCS,
lo_bcs_recipient  TYPE REF TO if_sender_bcs,
send_request TYPE REF TO cl_bcs.
CALL METHOD cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address
EXPORTING
i_address_string = 'myname at the rate of domain'
i_address_name   = 'myname'
RECEIVING
result                    = from_addr.
CALL METHOD send_request->set_sender
EXPORTING
i_sender = from_addr.
CATCH cx_send_req_bcs .
IF sy-subrc <> 0.

• Email send from address switches after adding a recipient

I have two email addresses configured on my iphone 5. When I start a new message the default address appears
In the from line. When I add a recipient the from address then switches
To my other email address. I can then manually switch it back. This only started once I started using ios7.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Is this a known bug?
Thanks

Several errors in this code.
crlf VARCHAR2(2) := chr(13)||chr(10);Why use a DOS/Windows linefeed? The correct variable/constant to use is UTL_TCP.CRLF - and this is a single #10 character.
Do not assume that network servers use the same DOS/Windows linefeed char sequence.
utl_smtp.Helo(v_Mail_Conn, v_Mail_Host);Wrong. You need to identify your platform in the HELO command. Not tell the SMTP mail server who it is. (providing the wrong data should not cause a failure in this case, but that is no reason for getting this command's parameter wrong)
EXCEPTION
WHEN utl_smtp.Transient_Error OR utl_smtp.Permanent_Error then
raise_application_error(-20000, 'Unable to send mail: '||sqlerrm);Just plain silly. You change a perfectly meaningful exception into a generic exception (number -20000). So the caller to your code gets a -20000 error code.. what does that mean? Was that a transient error (mail server commands can be retried)? Or is that a permanent error (mail server is for example down)?
Make exceptions MORE meaningful where needed. Do NOT make them meaningless by interfering with meaningful exceptions and turning these into useless generic exceptions.
Tried to add multi recipient by the below code but it does not works.
v_From := '[email protected]';
v_recipient := '[email protected]; [email protected]';
v_cc_Recipient := '[email protected]; [email protected]';
Wrong. This is not how one specifies multiple recipients. You should be reading RFC 2881 - the specification for the SMTP protocol - instead of making (incorrect) assumptions on about SMTP commands and parameters.
From RFC2881:
4.1.1.3 RECIPIENT (RCPT)
This command is used to identify an individual recipient of the mail
data; multiple recipients are specified by multiple use of this
command. So a SINGLE recipient is specified as parameter. Multiple recipients are specified by multiple calls using this command.

• Multiple email recipients from address book

I have not done this since I got my Mac. I want to send emails to about 50 of maybe 200 people in my address book. I tried highlighting but did not work. Can anyone help please?
Shari

Create a new Group in Address Book. Select the names of the people you wish to use in your mailing list. When you open the New Message window in Mail you may drag the group from AB to Mail or simply put the name of the group on the To: field and the group will be added automatically.

• Extract email addresses from email header - Sender (From) - Mail

Hi!
I would like to extract email addresses from email header from field "Sender (From)" and from email body in Mail at the same time.
I saw only scripts how to extract from email body.
I get emails asking for some informations about product and many people don't include their email address in the body, so I have to extract from email header as well.
I would like to extract email addresses from whole email account, separate alphabeticaly, delete duplicates and save it (separated by comma) in text file.
This I would use for sending massive email to all customers.
I'm on OSX 10.6.8.
Do you have please somebody script for extracting email addresses in the way:
1. select mail account
2. run script
3. save email addresses to txt file
Thank you for help and advise!

Hi Neville!
Last time I was writing basic programs in Turbopascal in 1996.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong...
1. I switched off in Mail "Use Smart Addresses".
2. I changed the path to my account in both commands:
Command A.
i=~/Library/Mail/[email protected]@pop.gmail.com # Input file path
o=~/Desktop/ # Output file path
n=`date "+%y%m%d%H%M%S"`-"addresses" # time stamped file name
grep -rh From: $i | grep -o '[-a-zA-Z0-9.]*@.[^>]*' | awk '!seen[$0]++' > $o$n
Command B.
grep -rh From: ~/Library/Mail/[email protected]@pop.gmail.com | grep -o '[-a-zA-Z0-9.]*@.[^>]*' | awk '!seen[$0]++' > ~/Desktop/`date \"+%y%m%d%H%M%S\"`"
3. I write commands in TERMINAL.
result of Command A:
List of couple emails same like before switching of "Use Smart Addresses"
I answered it already above:
It can extract to .txt file only email addresses from email header which includes after the name as well email address.
Example:
From: Neville Hillyer <[email protected]>
If there is in header only the name without the email address then it's not extracted (email is visible after secondary click on the name)
Example:
From: Neville Hillyer
I just checked that most of emails I have has in the emailheader only the name without the email address so I miss most of email addresses.
Result of Command B:
>
And nothing going on...
4. I tried the same in AppleScript editor
Result of Command A:
Syntax error. A unknown token can’t go after this identifier.
I changed the path but I still get syntax errors
(instead of i=~/Library... i put i= Users/muzaa/Library...)
Result of Command B:
Syntax error: A “from” can’t go after this identifier.
grep -rh From: /Users/radimmuzikant/Library/Mail/[email protected]@pop.gmail.com | grep -o '[-a-zA-Z0-9.]*@.[^>]*' | awk '!seen[$0]++' > ~/Desktop/`date \"+%y%m%d%H%M%S\"`"

• From Address for out going email in IC Web Client

Hi Experts,
System: SAP CRM 2007 (ERMS)
Whenever we log in to the agent inbox and try to respond to an email, the FROM address defualts to the log-in address. The system should ideally pick up the list defined in "Outgoing email address group" maintened in email profiles.
The email profile is assigned to the right business role and the agent is assigned to the right position with the same business role.
Would any one know, why this problem occurs?
Regards,
Ronit

Resolved at our end. This was due to a small customization done earlier.

• Z10 Reply-to all email with multiple addresses only replies to first

Hi,
I have written a script that emails me, and sets the "Reply-to" header to 7 other email addresses. When I go into Gmail and press "Reply All" for that message, it is correctly addressed to 7 people. But from my Z10, it is only addressed to the first person in the list and I need to manually add the other 6. I have checked the proper header formats (RFC 2822) and it says "an optional reply-to field MAY also be included, which contains the field name "Reply-To" and a comma-separated list of one or more addresses".
Here is the relevant part of a sample email header:
From: [email protected]
Reply-To: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
From the Z10 when I press "Reply-all", my message is only addressed to "[email protected]". I have also tried with no spaces between email addresses with the same result.
I don't think there is anything I can do to fix this, I just think it is a Z10 bug. Thanks,
Jamie

You probably have Primary Selection only on.
Aperture identifies the images you’ve selected by displaying them with a white border. When you select a group of images, the actively selected image, called the primary selection, appears with a thick white border and the rest of the selected images appear with thin white borders.
Primary Only button: Click this button to make changes to the primary image selection only.

• Adding a Contact Form, is it possible to change the FROM address in the header to the submitter's email address?

As it stands now the FROM address used is the site default (mine); using REPLY in the resulting email from the form should have the submitters email address not mine. I was able to switch this in the code (form-u1768.php) of an earlier version of MUSE. The PHP has changed in the current version (2014) and I'm not seeing how to pull off the same manual tweak. Any Ideas? Thanks!

I found this: Re: In adobe muse, how do you control the replyto address for a form? The site I'm working on is uploaded via FTP to another host. So, "...the email 'reply-to' header is filled in with the email address entered by whoever filled out the form, so you can hit 'reply' in your email software to reply to the form submitter." However, what if I want to take my chances on the form mail coming out of my site? Is there a tweak in the PHP that I can perform to change the FROM address to the same as REPLY-TO? Is there any reason this wouldn't work:
function get_email_headers($to_email, $form_email) {
$headers = 'From: ' . $form_email . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'Reply-To: ' . $form_email . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'X-Mailer: Adobe Muse CC 2014.1.6 with PHP' . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8' . PHP_EOL;
return $headers;
...vs. the way it is coded by MUSE:
function get_email_headers($to_email, $form_email) {
$headers = 'From: ' . $to_email . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'Reply-To: ' . $form_email . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'X-Mailer: Adobe Muse CC 2014.1.6 with PHP' . PHP_EOL;
$headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8' . PHP_EOL;
return $headers;

• IP-address in email header

Hi,
does anybody know how to get the ip-addresses in an email header?
Yes, I know there is a method called getfrom(), but there, you only get the senders email address. My problem is to get the ip-address from the mail server the email was send from.
thank you very much for replying

Maybe i have to be a little bit precise,
the aim is to extract the first ip-address, that is in the header - this is for identify the location the email is coming from.
my idea was to parse the complete message with a regular expression in order to find the first appearance of an ip-address. Maybe somebody has another idea, is there a possibility to only write the email-header to a string? This would be more efficient...
Thanks...

• Updating email address in Sales order header partner address -VA01/VA02

I got the requirement to update the email address in Sales order-> header-> partner address.
The mail address will be picked from ZTABLE and updated in header partner address through user exit
I cannot find any field for updating email address in partner address in user exit "MV45AFZZ"
Is there any other user exit/option to update email address in header partner address of sales order?
Thank You,
GM

Hi Rajesh,
I agree with you but this Scenario is different.
Just as you have mentioned the address change will not reflect in the Old Sales orders but it should in the new Sales orders right??
But that is not happening..The Address was changed say two months back and the new address is not appearing in the Sales orders created these days say yesterday or today..
In such a case,what is should I check to get the address updated??
Please advice.

• Screwed up email 'FROM' addressing COMPLAINT

Yes this is a complaint. Seriously what is going on with the FROM email addressing and how did anyone in BC ever think that deliberately changing and screwing with a clients FROM details improves things for clients.
This is now what happens to one of my clients because he does not host his DNS with BC. His 'from' addressing is changed. All his clients now get this for campaigns and notifications. I have substituted his name for 'ClientName' and website name for BusinessName (as I do not think his personal details are relevant.
From: Client Name [mailto:[email protected]>; on behalf of; Client Name <[email protected]>
Yes it really do string along that much. This is supposedly an enhancement. It does nothing but make the client look dodgy because the trusted address his end clients have seen for the last 20 years now looks spammy.
This was where the original notification of what was happening was to occur:

Email deliverability enhancements
 We've introduced two new changes with the goal of improving our email deliverability rates.
• Campaigns and operational emails (ie. workflow notifications) will now be signed with DKIM, acting as a digital signature and improving overall email deliverability.
• These emails will now also include a "sent via worldsecuresystems.com" header if the FROM email address is not a domain that has it’s DNS hosted with Business Catalyst.
Just incase you are a BC Partner like myself and have not actually seen this problem for yourself. After an hour of testing to figure out why the client sees it and I do not Live Chat tells me anyone with an email address hosted within BC actually does not see this stupid amendment to the FROM address. Here was Live Chats response:
"If the email is sent to "[email protected]" which is hosted on BC, it does not include the worldseruresystem in the header, and if I sent it to myself it includes the header, as my email is not hosted on BC. So it also depens on the receipient's email address."
Trully idiots are being employed within BC. How can we as BC Partners ever trust any testing we do in this system when we cannot even display what the end client is seeing?! Does BC really think that this helps a business have credibility online? Anything that has a dumb domain name like 'worldsecuresystems.com' and thinks this makes people feel more secure about the legitimacy of an email is a fool. I know what the relevenace 'worldsecuresystems' has within BC but 1 million+ other people do not. It is like typing into the subject line "This Is Not SPAM". Irrespective of the digital signature this change supposedly makes in improved email deliverability is countered by the shear stupidity of how it appears.
I clearly have a problem with this, my client has a problem with it too. I am sure we are not the only ones.

Hi Lynda...
Thank you very much for your reply - and I do agree - education is key to helping clients! .. and I have not actually tried to educate him with this issue yet - as I do not really understand the reasoning behind having the email header the way it is at present! So I guess I need to be educated first before being able to go back to him with how this benefits his company?
Just wanted to point out that in the header, as per your example, my clients emails say "Mailed by: amazonses.com" and then "Signed by: worldsecuresystems.com"! I have attached a screenshot from my personal Gmail account to show this as all the details do not show up in my business email as it is hosted with BC!
And this is how it looks from my clients side once he forwards the email on to me...
This is also only a workflow email notification and not an email marketing campaign!
... and as per your suggestion I have been looking at other marketing email that are sent to my account and have found this one which is very interesting - from BC Gurus.... which works exactly how my client would like it to look!
How do they get this working correctly?
Kind regards,
Sean Saville

• Email using my address sent to me from 3rd party

I don't know the right wording for what just happened to me, but I'm hoping someone can explain it and tell me how to correct it.
I opened my junkmail and there was an email FROM ME. I thought that was weird since I hadn't sent anything to myself lately. I opened it and it's a pharmaceutical ad for sexual enhancements complete with pictures and a link to the site. I did NOT visit the site, I DON'T visit that kind of site and since I don't have a *****, I know the advertisement was some sort of mass mailing.
HOW DID THEY USE MY EMAIL ADDRESS??? Are they now using it to send the same crap to my friends? To strangers? Who will now fill my mailbox with CRAP? Do I need to close that precious dotMac account (I hate the dotIT'S ALL ABOUT ME account name.) How do I stop this????
HELP!!!!

It is easy for a spammer to forge any field of a message. The email was not sent from your computer or your email address really, the spammer just puts your email as the one listed in the From field of the message. The actual email header will show the IP address where the mail really originated, which is in part how email clients (Mail, Thunderbird, etc) can detect and filter such junk. Some more primitive filtering does not catch this, and for those not using filtering they are more likely to read mail they may be fooled into thinking they sent themselves. Chances are your friends also have been getting emails from 'themselves' in their junk folder too. This is now a very common tactic.
