CRM learning

Dear Friends
I am an user of SD since last 3 years. I am planning to switch to Sap. So I am thinking about CRM functional (not SD because I think CRM has better prospect). Now while learning CRM functional, is it necessary that I should have any technical knowledge like ABAP or BW. When I check with local institutes they are conflicting and confusing me a lot.
Another thing is for job prospects, should I possess both functional as well as technical skill? Also can anyone guide me what are the submodules within CRM functional I should focus more?

Hi,
As you have SD user backgroud you can start learning CRM/SD depending upon your request. As you have SD knowledge that will be of great advantage to understand CRM.
Regarding the ABAP if you have it will a added advantage. But if you dont have also no problem

XI content for CRM 4.1

i was able to locate the BBPCRM module but it is for crm version 4.0 and i can not find one for version 4.1. I also tried to find some documentation but i can not find any documentation about this module. anybody any suggestions ?

GR against STO

Guys,
Here is my scenario...We have a decentralized warehouse systems.
I created a STO order and created an outbound delivery and processed that delivery in our Warehouse. After that delivery is updated back with the status saying it is completed.
Now I am trying to reeceive the goods from the goods delivered by warehouse to our another warehouse with the same outbound delivery through MIGO. I am using Movement Type of 101.
I am getting an error saying Pruchase order "XXXXXXXXX" has no items....
Can You please let me know what the issue could be.....

Stock in transit apply to two-step stock transfer process. You audit stock in transit with T-code MB5T
For instance, you issue a stock transfer PO 1234, which transfer 20 pieces material ABC from you plant 1000 to 2000. After you issue delivery, pick, pack and goods issue against PO1234, you will realized inventory for material ABC was reduced by 20 pcs at plant 1000. at the same moment, inventory at plant 2000 didn't increase. so where is 20 pcs ABC? they are in transit stock to plant 2000. After you finish GR against PO1234 to 2000, you will find them in 2000 and disappeared from transit stock.
So stock in transit is a virtual plant in the system holdint your stock that left supplying plant but hasn't arrived at receiving plant

After seeing the course of BPC I felt its more technical as I am a functional consultant with no technical background,

CRM definitely not a choice for you.
If you are a FI consultant, I would learn get some good knowledge in CO.
Then if you are interested then you should have skills in:
a) Business Intelligence (BI)
b) FICO Knowledge
c) Good MS Excel Knowledge (like Visual Basics)
d) Fundamental knowledge in Accounting Consolidations
e) ABAP (Good to have skills)
If you are have adequate skills in the above areas, then BPC would be a good fit for you.

Hi Pavan,
This has bn a long debate topic now. Coz the employers ask for an CRM exp topped with SD exp and the employees, jus like you and me feel that its not at all required.
If you ask my take on this topic, i say that the SAP SD is not required to learn SAP CRM. Ofcourse, i know that SAP CRM was originated from SAP SD, even though i stick to my words.
Before joinin to SAP CRM i was myself in a dilemma as to what to be done. But for me, so far so good.
If you need to do certification as a fresher, SAP would require you to obtain SD certification and then go for CRM certification.
Just to conclude, SAP SD is not required for learnin SAP CRM, but knowing SAP SD basic concepts (i mean actual SD basic fundas) will surely help you grab CRM knowledge faster and even during job hunt.

My question is quite amateurish hence apologies !!!
I want to upgrade to ERP from BI domain and thought of undertaking EBS self learning in spare time.
what i am stuck up with is that i can see loads of installation DIY and Guides for EBS on Windows/Linux
1.how should one proceed further to install SCM /CRM
2. what can we do with the current installation ( is that for the technical Apps DBA people to do the admin stuff)
3. What is the end user interface of EBS
4. In what steps should i study to reach A functional skill
5.are there Guides available /OBE 's which teach functional skills
