CRM Mobile

Hi,
I am new to CRM mobile and wanted to do a demo project. I have gone through CRM help and understood the architecture of the Mobile application. To show the functionality of CRM mobile from the functional perspective:
1) Do we need to install MRS(Mobile Rep Server) and MDW(Mobile Dev Workstation)  or we can just install communication station and mobile client. I think MRS and MDW will be important if we do some customizing or changes to a application. Pls clarify.
2) Do we require separate Server for a communication station  or we can install in the same laptop as Mobile Client.
Pls clarify.
Thank you.

Hi,
Yes. You need the comm.station for the demo version also if you want to have a transaction with the CRM Server using contranns.
No Comm.station required - If you do not need the mobile client to communicate with the CRM server.
Therefore, Following are the steps to make sure that the demo solution communicates with the CRM Server.
1. Maintain the Destinations in the Comm.staiton - QmtCnfg.exe - (After Comm.station is installed)
2. In the Mobile Client System, Check whether the call to comm.staion works.(and Also the call to the CRM Server from Comm.staiton).
3.. Create a Site in the CRM Server(And assign subscriptions) and Assign the site created in the Mobile Client Demo version.
Hope the above information helps!!

    Hi,
I am facing issues while saving a Sales Order in the CRM Mobile Application. I am getting the error message "Value Field KvLangu is not valid (Error: 236 / 1102)".
I would be very grateful if somebody had faced this issue before and this way could help me with some information.
    Best Regards,

    Hi Rogerio,
You should put mobile sales related messages in the forum "CRM Mobile applications"
This error message is coming because the language table SMOT002 might be empty in your mobile client OR it does not have all the values which have been customized in the system.
You need to have subscription based on publication "customizing objects" assigned to your site.

  • CRM Mobile Sales Application : HTTP Communication Failure ERROR

    Hi All,
I am trying to build a CRM mobile application in the Windows mobile.
the steps that we have followed are:

  • 405 - ICM_HTTP_INTERNAL_ERROR in CRM Mobile Sales

    Hi Experts,
We deployed a CRM Mobile Sales 1.2 in Windows Mobile simulator. When we try to login to CRM Mobile Application, it is keep on checking for initial data in the simulator, then we checked in the session monitoring for any errors, we found the error as"405 - ICM_HTTP_INTERNAL_ERROR -".
But we were able to get the all the data (Activities, Task, etc) previously. For the past two days, we were not getting any data in the mobile simulator due to this error.
Please let us know the solution for this issue at the earliest.
    Thanks,

    Hi Siva,
I am having the same problem, while trying to connect through my Windows7 laptop, the SAP CRM Mobile App keeps on showing "Checking for Initial Load" on login screen after entering the PIN, Connection Information and SAP CRM credentials and never go to App's home page.
I also tried logging through iPhone but not able to see any data there also.
I checked and found the data in MAS_AUTH_CUST & MAS_CUSTOMIZATION and BP related objects (as we haven't downloaded the Products and Transaction related objects yet), but not sure where to check USER_DETAILAS & USER_AUTHORIZATION.
How can we trace and monitor that the data is flowing from NWM to Mobile device??
Quick inputs will be highly appreciated..
    Cheers!!!

  • SAP CRM MObility Activity Survey to create Marketing Attributes for a BP

    ATtrHi Gurus ,
I have to create an Activity from IPAD ( CRM Mobility ) which will create a survey response, and the survey responses have to be captured and then create Marketing Attributes for the BP related to the Activity. I am not able to use the Callback Function given to IPAD Application.
So my Approach so far has been :
implement a badi that gets trigerred at Survey Response submission.
in that call function module crm_svy_activity_pai.(Made a Z-copy of this to enforce COMMIT WORK )
I am not able to pass the parameter lr_values for FM: CRM_SVY_ACTIVITY_PAI
These are the 2 links that has been useful so far . Kindly add to this if possible.
    Regds
    Oindrila

    Hi Jacques,
Once you click on Marketing in Web UI you will find "Marketing Attribute" in the Work Area.Click on that.
You need to give ID No. and Attribute Set name.
You need to mark Persons and Organisation checked also.
Below that you will find 2 blocks " Attributes" and "Value"
Under Attribute gve your Attributes Names you want to define ( e.g. Age,Salary or any client defined..) then select the Format ( Numeric or Chracter etc...)
Once you have filled in all the Attributes you click on one attribute and below you need to fill the Values ( e.g 20-30 yrs etc...) . If you want to make that value a default one you can select default check box against each value.
That way for each attributes you can define values. Hope this would help you.

  • Route Optimization in CRM Mobile

    Hello,
Is anybody familiar with the route optimization in CRM Mobile? According to the documentation a PTV eServers have to be installed. What is a PTV eServer? How do you install it, and what does it cost?
In activity management there is a button called Corridor Search. When I click on it I get an error stating that an u2018Error during corridor searchu2019 Context: ACTOPTIMIZE.
I assume that this button is somehow related to the route optimization. Does anybody know more precisely what it covers, and how to activate this functionality?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards
    Andy Cooper

    Hi Andy
Once upon a long time ago I had to deal a bit with PTV: They are located in Germany, and provide route optimization SW: www.ptv.de. The best would be to access their website and ask the information there, they are usually pretty friendly.

  • Difference between SAP MI and CRM Mobile Sales

    hi experts,
we need to understand difference between SAP MI and CRM mobiles sales solutions. what are SAP's  recommendations: where to use MI and where to use Mobile sales.
can some of you explain the pros and cons of each solution or let me know the place where i get such info.
    thanks in advance.
    RH

SAP MI apps are aimed at PDAs while CRM Mobile Sales is aimed (and can only work with) at laptops.
PDA solutions are mostly used by sales agents while the laptop solution is more suitable to account managers. The laptop has much more information available that includes:
    - Marketing planning and execution capabilities
    - Account Planning
    - BW Reporting
Mobile Sales for PDAs has more basic functionalities like order & activity management and business partner data maintenance (which are also included in the laptop version).

Can anyone explain how Groupware fits into the CRM mobile model?.
Also we have the client console on the laptop, but it looks very basic. My understanding is that it's supposed to be able to download sales details before going on the road, is that correct, or have I misunderstood something?.

  • CRM Mobile 7.0 vs NW Mobile 7.0 and Which DB on MobileDevice?

    Hi All,
I want to develop mobile applications for my customer, however I dont know how I start.
At first, we use offline mobile devices and CRM applications. So I need to know the differences between CRMMobile and NWMobile7.0...For configuration of servers, prereqisites, development area and deployments...etc..
And for mobile client I need a DB ,for offline usage. SAP offers db2e for mobile client and MaxDB for laptops. MaxDB is free but not for mobile devices, db2e is ok but not free... can I use sqlCE or MinDB for this applications , both are free now I think . Or any other?
Could you help me on this topic.
How can I start and finish a simple program from the begining (from server configuration to mobile deployment what I need to install and configure on my computer and serverside).
For example, give customer number then get customer name project on mobile device.
    Thanx,

    Hi,
the SAP strategy for mobile applications is (has been) a little bit confusing in the past so I try to explain some basics:
    - CRM Mobile is laptop based, available is Mobile Service and Sales (including 2 branch specific applications), supported local DB system is MSSQL, connecting to SAP CRM
    - NW Mobile 7.0 (7.1) is designed for handhelds, PDAs, but also for laptops; there are currently NO standard applications available connecting to CRM; but since 7.1 there exists a platform where customer specific applications can be developed; for specific queries better use the forum <SAP Netweaver - Mobile> as there are the real experts available; you also should check the help portal [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/ca/6fbd35746dbd2de10000009b38f889/frameset.htm]

    Thanks in Advance,

In Start --> Run, write odbcad32. This will bring up odbc connection details. Go to System DSN tab. You should see an entry for IDES.
If you don't, installation was not complete.
If you see the entry, double-click it. Press NEXT on first screen. On second screen, select second option (logon with SQL server authentication), put username & password as ides & ides. Then press NEXT. Press NEXT on third screen as well. On fourth screen press FINISH. This will bring you to fifth screen. Press Test Data Source button. If IDES database is installed properly, you should receive a message - TESTS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
    Hope this helps.
