Crome - stuck in full screen on Second display

Hello
I am in need of some help here.
I have a dual screen set up
Main display - Apple 30" display
Second display - Apple 23" display
At one point I have enabled full screen mode with Google Crome on my 23" display and I can't get it out of Full Screen.
I have quit Crome and tried to start it holding down different keys - Command, option and also control, (alone not together)
No change, still runs full screen
UGH - hate it.
I have tried 'esc' and the blue arrows in the upper right of the screen both did not help.
Thanks
West
Running 10.9.2 all up to date

  • Second screen blacked out when full screen with dual displays

I have a MacBook Pro connected to an LCD display. I use both screens. When working from home I'd like to have my local machine showing on the LCD monitor and my work machine showing in the MBP screen. I can do this, however I can't have the work machine in full screen mode because ARD blacks out my main LCD monitor. This frankly drives me nuts as there doesn't appear to be a preference within ARD to change this.
iTunes does the same thing. If I want to watch a video full screen in one monitor it blacks out the other. C'mon Apple, Quicktime doesn't do this and has a preferences tab just for display settings!
Does someone have a suggestion, work around, or want to point me to what I might be missing to solve this issue?

I understand what you are doing, but when you are running as full-screen the second display is blacked out because your making your station only the target at that moment. You are telling ARD that you want nothing to do with your Admin station. Also because the target doesn't have a second screen, your is blank. This avoids any confusion as to what screen belongs to what machine. ARD is working as it was designed to.
iTunes does the same thing to hid extra screens that are not part of the presentation so they don't detract from the show.
With your Observe or Control in Windowed mode, make the window of you client to fill the display as much as possible. This is the best you can do. Besides, when you are Controlling a client in Full-Screen, you can't move files and such with drag-n-drop. So if you want to work on both at the same time, you need to stay in windowed mode.
If you would like to make the petition to have your idea supported, do so here

  • Can not properly view cover flow in full screen in external display

My mac is the new Mac book pro 15.4 inch screen and I connect my mac pro to external display e.g. Samsung LCD monitor 24 inches.
The bug is that I can not PROPERLY view full screen (in external display) for some application e.g. iTunes, and Front Row.
    - When I use iTunes, I can not properly view Cover Flow view in full screen (in the external display screen) except the case of mirror display.
    - For Front Row, I can not view full screen in external display but only my mac display.
However, for other DVD or VDO players, I can view movie on external display in full screen and I still be able to do other works on my mac screen.
Please let me know how to solve it.

When I Open a File in Photoshop CS4, How can I Resize My Open Window File? It is stuck on Full Screen?

Which operating system are you using?
On a windows os, usually one can just double click on the title bar in the open dialog.

  • Finder stuck in full screen with black background on one monitor

Just upgraded to Mavericks on launch day and a day or so later when I went to change the new Mavericks desktop backgound with another image, the Finder appears to be stuck in full screen mode, but raising the mouse to the top doesn't reveal the normal drop back to exit full screen. The background is black as well. When looking into what the OS thinks is the background image, it does show the image that I choose, but I can't see it.
I've rebooted and also tried to reset the desktop by going through these steps:
1: Click "Go" at the top of the finder.
2: Hold down the "Option" key and click "Library"
    3: Open the "Preferences" folder.
    4: Find the file "com.apple.desktop.plist"
    5: Rename it to "com.apple.desktop.plist.old"
    6: Reboot your computer.
... but this did not resolve the issue. Any ideas?

I don't even have that file in my Preferences folder. It used to be there in Mountain Lion. Now one of my script won't work because of that.
But I don't have similar problem that you described. I can assign different desktop backgroud images just fine.

  • Full screen caller image display

Full Screen Caller image was one of the best feature of an iPhone that made look iPhone simpler and fantastic to use..
This particular feature seems to have been last with the upgrade to iOS 7.1..
    Please fix this issue..
Full screen caller image display makes the phone look beautiful and wonderful when a known person is calling

I agree with you on  the full screen view for when a users contacts call them. I hesitated upgrading, Apple has now joined the ranks for screw-ups! Since the late  Steve Jobs left this earth, Tim Cook has royally screwed-up this company! Customers here in th U.S and arouund the world are the ones shelling out hundreds of dollars for a product that is the best next thing to revoluntionize the way we communicate with others. But it seems that $600+ dollars gets us junk and a device not tailored to us, the users. I want to call them "M!cr0$oft Apples!" Give us the ability to go back to iOS6. Let us choose! We the customers have made this company rich, full of wealth beyond their greedy little hands. Give us the ability to choose what OS we want to install. Their should be a transparency relationship between the customer with the money, and worker who will work for us to render a product that we "the users," want" and not want a senior desinger assumes we think is good. Remember, this is all thanks to a legend who we all know and respect as ("in my own opinion), the father of modern communication Steve Jobs. SJ worked till his last days here to creat a masterpiece, T.C came on board and took a huge "memoryDUMP," and disregarded his visions. If your passionate like me about Apple and what Steve Jobs stood for, then  help me create a petition to make this company see that we "The customers are ALWAYS right!"
    Missing and need back:
Transparency on the dock and icons
    Working Wifi, and imessage
    Better Battery life!!!
Reverse the icons back to iOS7.06
    Fix maps
Unless the designers are gothic in nature (I love Goth!!); dont make our phone dark and heavy on the fonts.
I dont know about you, but I' am tired of hearing excuses from Apple and its CEO!
PRETTY MUCH, REVERSE THE UPDATE OR WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!
As th general public alredy knows, Apple will never listen or read these suggestions" They sleep soundly in thier 2.5millon homes, and respectively. Why care about those people that are paying thier salary pretty much! Listen up board of directors.....Fire Tim Cook, Hire a go-getter, Micromanage manic that will continue Mr. Jobs legacy and nip this disaster in the bud!  Tweet this, FB this! Let make the world realize we will not take it anymore! Fix the dam problems!

  • Pages Full screen view second external monitor

I use a 24" monitor as my primary display when i'm at my desk with my Macbook Pro. Is there anyway to get pages full screen view to display on the external monitor instead of the macbook pro screen?

    Jerry
Apple has sort of spoiled the multiple monitor thing, which before OSX used to be a great feature on Macs.
Apple tends to make assumptions about its users, based on whatever it is selling in its latest hardware.
Since so many large screen iMacs have been sold and the external monitor ports have switched numerous times, most users have given up trying to connect multiple monitors and many are probably even unaware it is possible.
It seems this includes the Pages' programmers who have slipped up on this.

Lightroom 5.4 is getting stuck in full screen mode. I need to force-quit the app in order to re-start and use again. How can I fix this?
I am using Mac osX 10.9.2
I can see that I am not the only one with this problem.

LOL... this is what I just had to look up... it's not exactly clear or apparent, is it?
When in Full screen mode.. just press Command-F. Voila!

  • Video full screen with two displays?

I do presentations with my MB Air (currently still on Lion)
I connect the MB Air to a projector via the mini display socket.
In Sys Prefs/Displays I have MIrror switched off so that the projector screen shows an extended desktop.
One display (MB Air) is the system display with Finder menu bar.
My problem is that if I play a video (MP4 using Quicktime player) and select full screen
the video shows full screen on the system display only - the other display is black
What I would like is for the video to show full screen on the second display (projector screen) not the system display (MB Air)
I would like this so that the audience does not see my desktop and me opening files and folders
but only sees the video I am playing full screen on the projector screen.
    Is this possible?
    many thanks
    Pete

I actually just found an option under quicktime preferences to keep fullscreen when player is inactive, and that fixed my problem. Thanks anyway though!

  • DVD player full screen on external display

I'm looking for a way to play my DVD full screen on my external display while I can work in other apps on the main screen. Preferrably with Apple DVD Player (OS X 10.7 Lion in my case). Any ideas? Hidden settings perhaps?
It's stuff like this makes feel let down by Apple. It's natural feature to want this like for instance when playing DVD on a big screen in front of an audience and prepare something on the main display for viewing.

I know I can do this already with VLC. For some discs that don't play well in VLC I'd prefer DVD Player though.

  • ITunes 11.0.2.26 For Windows Stuck in Full Screen Mode

Itunes 11.0.2.26 is in Full Screen  mode and I cannot get it out.  When I go to "View" the Full Screen Ctrl + F is Paled out. I cannot get it to resize.  How can I get it out of Full Screen.  I hav Windows Vista  Home Premium.
    Thanks .

Mine is a brand new machine. Burning software was installed before iTunes was installed. I am looking at this article which points to a possible problem with the GEAR drivers: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308
It also points to the afs.sys and afs2k.sys drivers as a potential problem. I've verified that I don't have these drivers on my machine.
When I go to the GEAR site, it tells you to manually uninstall the GEAR drivers and install the latest ones. First, manual uninstall which involves editing the registry. Really? While I'm quite the expert at registry editing, NO CONSUMER should ever be told to edit the registry to delete anything. Second, if in fact the GEAR drivers are the problem, shouldn't iTunes install the right ones? This is a prime example of poor software engineering at its core.

  • Mac Mini no longer able to display full screen on TV display.

I had my mac mini set up correctly with my Samsung 50" tv - using the "Best for display" option within system preferences - Display.  I left the computer on overnight and in the morning the screen was messed up.  Now I can only see the full screen, with menu bars at the top of the display, if i set preferences with the lowest available resoltion of 720p and using the Underscan option too. Any advice on what went wrong and how to get back to the best setting?

    Hey there Slackbast,
It sounds like you are having some graphical issues when you have a TV connected to your Mac Mini, but it used to work fine. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
If more than one video adapter is in use (or "daisy-chained"), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
Reset the systemYou can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolutionStart by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Dialog Boxes stuck on full screen mode in ID4

    I run InDesign CS4 on a 15-inch HP Elitebook 8560 connected to two 20-inch monitors running at 1600 X 900 DPI.
Usually, InDesign occupies the left of the two monitors.
Occasionally I telework at home on a  single 27-inch monitor.
The computer has no trouble distinguishing between the two setups.
When I do a "Save As" in InDesign CS4, the file name and location dialog box now takes up the full screen of  20-inch monitor.
I try dragging the lower right hand corner with my mouse, but nothing works to make that screen any smaller.  Even if I move the mouse to the upper right or upper edge of the screen and click-drag, it stays at full screen.
If I undock the laptop and use its screen, even at a higher resolution, I still cannot drag the corners of the dialog box away from the edges of the screen.
Are there any preferences or keyboard shortcuts I could use to solve this?

To force quit an application, choose Force Quit from the Apple menu (or press Command-Option-Esc), then choose the unresponsive application in the Force Quit window, and click Force Quit.
Optionally, you may be able to Option-right click the application's icon in the Dock and choose Force Quit from the contextual menu.
If this is not an option, hold down the power button (5-10 seconds) until the mac shuts off and then restart.

  • Full screen incoming caller display 2730 classic

Is there a way of making the phone display the incoming caller display larger, when your driving and using Bluetooth its almost imposable to read the number or name of caller
I know the font size can be changed for other applications but this one is a must as it could be quit dangerous to try and read who is calling when driving
A full screen would be better

Is there a basic nokia phone that just makes and receives calls, text, and with Bluetooth with extra large fonts so the phone can be read, mostly for incoming calls
My 10 year old 6310i was good but the bluetooth let it down
