Crop to 16:9 and select a particular portion

Can I crop a video clip in a like fashion to cropping a photo? For example can I specify a certain aspect ration (16:9), crop and then use the hand to move around inside the image until I have selected what I want to present and then have the clip displaed without letter boxing? I believe this is possible in iMovie 09.

Of course it can.
A 16: 9 clip in an appropriately set up Timeline:
Set up a 4:3 Sequence:
Open a new project and go to the menu bar: Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup > DV-NTSC.
Then, Sequence > Settings > Load Sequence Preset.
Select all the clips in the 16:9 Timeline in the other tab. Press command and C keys.
Open the 4:3 project's Timeline. Press Command and V keys.
This is what happens:
The picture needs to be scaled so that it can be repositioned. Double click a clip in the Timeline to send it to the Viewer. Click the Motion tab.
Use the Scale control to fill the frame in the Canvas:
The result of this is showing you the center part of the picture and is probably not what you want. Make the Canvas the active window and go to View in the menu bar and choose Image and Wireframe. The cursor changes to a hand so that you can drag the picture's position.
Hold the shift key to restrict movement to the horizontal plane.

First, I use Windows 7 64-bit and I always use Firefox with at least 120 tabs opened. BUT I have 8 GB of RAM, an Intel core i7 quad-core processor and more than 1 TB of hard disk space. Consequently, I do not understand why I would have these two critical bugs.
With Firefox 26, I also have at least 120 tabs opened when I start Firefox and I do not have the two critical bugs described below, therefore I do not believe that the number of tabs is the reason of the two critical bugs that are present in Firefox 27, 28, and 29.
---FIRST CRITICAL BUG:
When I open ANY web page and do File, "Save Page As", the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this web page does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
---SECOND CRITICAL BUG:
When I use Google Images, for instance entering model in the search field of Google Images and then pressing enter.
Then I select any picture, open to a new tab this selected picture, then open a new tab by selecting the option View for this picture. Then right-click the picture and select "Save Image As".

I have no idea if you will be able to reproduce these two critical BUGS but I can assure you that they are not present when I use Firefox 26 and they are present when I use Firefox 27, 28, and 29. More, be aware that I have at least 100 tabs opened but I also have this same number of tabs opened in Firefox 26 and yet I do not experience these two critical bugs when I have Firefox 26!
Once again, these two bugs touch at two vital, critical very basic functions of Firefox and therefore I will NOT be able to use any version above 26 if these two bugs are still present, as they are present in Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!!!
Please, make it a priority to solve these two critical bugs. Thanks.

I am still reading it again to try to figure out exactly what the person did to make his problems be solved, as the post is not clear at all on what solved the problems!
In any case, all the suggestions proposed in this post do not work and I surely cannot do a system restore when it is obvious that the two bugs do not appear in Internet Explorer.

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset.

Radio button and selection screen

my requirement is that if the user enters some particular combination of value in the select options and clicks a particular radio button there should be an error message displayed.
1) I am getting the error message in the form a dialog box , but it has only option of exit , and the user is thrown of the screen. my requirement is that after the error message the user must still be at the same screen so that he can enter new values.
2) the code that i have written also has one more anamoly that the displaying of error depends upon the sequence of actions .
if i enter the value in the select option first and then click the radio button then the error message is displayed which is correct.
but it doesnt work i click the radio button first and then enter the value, the program is executed and NO ERROR message is flashed.

I m using abstractTableModel to create my table. My table display 4 columns of different info, now i can capture my info from the other window and compare the value with my table but i don't know how to highlight/or select the particular rows in table.

as I said before, the changeSelection(...) method of JTable will setup it's ListSelectionModel so that the row, you want, gets selected/highlighted:
yourTable.changeSelection(row,0,false,false);
will select a certain cell - but if selection of a single cell is not allowed and row selection is allowed, the whole row will be selected this way. You can allow selection of a single cell, selection of a column, selection of a row, or simultaneous selection of column and row at the same time. You can have single selection and multi selection.

This is a jpeg file but i also have it in illustrator. I friend of mine made this for me as i am not very proficient.
I want to crop/copy and paste the individual features of the panda and place it on top of a visual clip as a title, just like as if i was writing a heading.
I originally thought i could just copy and paste this from illustrator but this didn't work.
Then i thought if i get a backgroundless copy this would be able to work but that didn't either.
I have been learning premiere pro cc (my version) for the last week or so but I'm still new to video editing.
Ultimately i want the shapes of this panda to overlay a visual clip premiere pro cc

To change the opacity/transparency of the panda, double click it on the timeline, then go to the "Effects Controls" tab, twirl down the 'Opacity' setting, and adjust as needed.
Separating the panda:
Method 1: The easiest way would be to bring the panda into your project as 6 separate files exported from illustrator.
Method 2: If you would prefer to however cut it up manually inside of Premiere, then go to the 'Effects' tab, search for "matte" and select the "Eight-point garbage matte" effect. You can use this to isolate a feature of the panda.
Either way, you will need to stack multiple layers on top of each other in the timeline to piece together the panda again.

I believe this is caused by you working in the background only. You must work in layers for states to be different. Examine my version (in one state I copied the map to a layer, and applied a gaussian blur). Notice that switching to the other state removes that layer, and only displays the background.

How to select a particular row in grid?

I am trying to generate a user defined CFL form which should work exactly as system CFL. Using Matrix takes minutes to load the query's output so I m using grid instead and passing the query as a parameter to datatable. is there any way to select a particular row in grid through SDK ? for matrix , it cud be written like 'matrix.selectrow(). doesn't seem to have such property for grid. Any help on this will be appreciated.

How to select a particular node in a tree?-want suggestions urgent

i've to make a tree showing "c:\" folder structure of the system. Initially i'm adding the folders in c:\ only tothe tree. And i'm adding the subfolders when ever i select a particular folder. I'm opening the subfolders and inner subfolders of it and so inside like that. now i'm closing the window . i want the tree to reopen with the previously opened level when ever i again run the program. On closing i'm storing the last selected node using tree.getMaxSelectionPath() . And on reopen i'm setting it as tree.setSelectionPath(tree.getMaxSelectionPath()).
But it is not opening the entire path. it is opening uptop one level only. what to do. Needs suggestion urgently.

I am sorry, I cannot help in another way than looking at the documentation, because I have currently no JDK available here. If expandPath(...) doesn't work, you can try to get all the nodes of that path and expand them from the root node downwards, perhaps that will work.

Help! Saving a PDF out of Illustrator and the PDF is cropped on the right and bottom. Artboard size is fine.

We're having a weird issue with Illustrator that rarely can be replicated. When we're saving a file as a PDF, sometimes the PDF gets cropped to the right and bottom and we're not quite sure why it's happening. Sometimes we'll just go an open the Illustrator file again and re-save and it's fine. Other times we may need to re-start the computer or re-start Illustrator and it's fine. Other times when we do all of the above, it still crops the PDF. I'm baffled as to what's happening.
We're running 10.6.8 OS X and this is Illustrator CC.

This is in Illustrator CC Version 17. It is fine when you open them back in Illustrator. I have also noticed that from Illustrator if you do a 'Save As', select PDF, then select one of the PDF presets (I use 'Press Quality) the resulting PDF when opened in Reader displays how I want it, with the artwork as it was positioned on the Illustrator artboard (not cropped). If I then open in Illustrator again, make a change to the artwork, and select 'Save' (not 'Save As') when opened back in Reader the file is cropped again.

JMS CC - administered and selected channels have not been stopped

We are unable to stop JMS CC. (It is already green, but it is throwing error) . (Error : JMS error occurred while processing message: 4bebe40f-e09e-658d-e100-00009958a87b. JMS provider gave error mesage as MQJMS1016: an internal error has occurred. Please contact your system administrator. Detail: java.lang.NullPointerException null, and error code as MQJMS1016.)
That is Stop button is disabled in the CC Monitoring.
When we do Multiple Selection On and click the Stop button, it is showing the message
"1 of 1 administered and selected channels have not been stopped".
We have checked from the MQ team. (Websphere MQ). The queues are correct. No issues.
We compared in PI side successfull CC and this CC whic is not stopped. Configuration are same except the queue name.
Note that this problem is not coming for all JMS channels. Only for particular channels.
Kindly clarify, friends. why we are unable to stop and start those CC.

I found one thing. Those CC are controlled by Externally. So that Stop button is diabled. I don't know why they set External Control On.
Then, I switched off External Control and started manually. It took very long time to do this. (??) Now, I am getting different error.
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: No transition found from state: STARTING, on event: process_commence for DFA:
For this, I refereed the thread No transition found from state: STARTING. They told that this is due of missing of some libraries.
My doubt is if this is the problem, how other JMS receiver CC are working.
Can you kindly clarify.
