Cropped pfd defaults to resolution of 9999

I have Photoshop CS3 and Windows XP. I used to crop pfds and the resolution stayed at the normal 72 default. Now when I crop the image shrinks very small and when I check in image size the resolution goes to 9999. But in preferences the resolution is still 72.
What is going on?

I assume you mean PDF file not PFD.
What settings are you using with the crop tool, in PSCS3.
H, W and resolution, input boxes.
What is the image resolution before you crop the image?

  • Default Screen Resolution 15"

What is the default screen resolution for a macbook 15"? I have found that people say 1440x900 but that is not even an option on my computer. Also, my icons on my desktop are miniature. How do I fix that? My screen resolution was fine until I plugged in a doppler, then my screen zoomed in and when I tried to fix it and then unplugged it, it's all messed up.
    Thanks in advance

It might help in Display preferences if you click on Detect Displays first.
To change the size of desktop icons:
Ctrl-click on a clear part of the desktop background.
    Select Show View Options.
Set the icon size, etc to your personal taste.

  • Image Capture Default Scan Resolution

I have researched how to change the default scan resolution in Image Capture. Everything I have found thus far either doesn't work or references a preference file that does not seem to exist on my machine. Current OS  is 10.5.8. I had the plist file (com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist) open in BBEdit and noticed that when I Quit the application "Image Capture" the setting for ICScannerPresScanResulation switched from 300 to 150 immediately.

OK, look for some of these files...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.Image_Capture.XXXXXXXXX X.plist
Also, it seems that some Scanners store the Default Rez in them, might see if setting that is an option for yours.

  • Default screen resolution

Is there a way to change the default screen resolution for the Home Media DVR?  I have to change it from 720p to 1080i every time I turn on the set.  I tried getting help on the phone, but Verizon has the most annoying phone tree of all time.

It's based on the HDMI settings from your TV and resets every time you turn off the STB. I personally haven't found a way to override it.

  • Setting default HDMI resolution on 22bw

I'm using a pavlillion 22bw as a montior for a Blackmagic Atem 1 Television Studio Switcher.  I'm connecting my 22bw via an HDMI cable.  Trouble is, When I turn on the ATEM, the image is larger than the the screen. An error pops up that says "Input Signal Larger thans screen Reccomended resolution is 1920 by 1080 60hz.
My atem error pop up says my current resolution is H=34khz V=60hz.
How can make this monitor's hdmi input default to 1920 X 1080 pr stop over-scanning or something?
    I've tried everything..

    Hi Hudsonmoon,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion 22bw 21.5-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor and that is very difficult to read when connect with HDMI cable.. Here is a document with the advanced display settings.
    Hope this helps.

  • Crop marks default

How to change defaults when creating crop marks from the effects menu? I have to create my own crops at work more often than not, specially when we have more than one job on the sheet at different sizes. The ones created in Illustrator are at 0.25" from trim and 0.5" long, I would like to make it 0.125" from trim and 0.25" long. I remember a script that did just that, but can't find it in here. Anyone with ideas? Help is appreciated.

Yes, I can advise that I called Adobe shortly after receiving CS4 to report this problem. They took away "Filters" and thus the crop mark command (for a few years it was called Trim Marks to distinguish it from the crop mark command in another menu) vanished.
Not only can't you select the trim marks to modify them, you will also find that unless the selected object(s) are grouped, you get a multitude of crop marks. It's idiotic and it's broken and there should be a fix for it before we have to upgrade to CS5.
Moreover, if you make a rectangular bounding box, and then surround it with crop marks, and then turn that bounding box into a guide, your crop marks disappear.
It's just a broken feature, that's all, and multiple artboards is not a good excuse for it.

  • Cropping to a Fixed Resolution

Is it possible in Aperture to use the crop tool and have resulting images with the same resolution (resampling)? I ask because I often do slight crops to straighten or for composition and do not wish to send designers a mixed bag of sizes. If I could do this in Aperture it would cut my Photoshop work dramatically. Thanks

In the Aperture -> Presets -> Image Export, in the panel, you can specify the “Size to” option such as “original” or “Fit within inches” etc. All your pictures can be made the same size at least in the greater dimension, such as fit within width 10 and height 15. But of course if you have made minor and varied crops, both dimensions won’t be the same for all pictures because your pictures will have different aspect ratios after you have made your various crops. Clear?

  • CS6: cropping bitmaps in lower resolution, then applying to original bitmaps?

    Hi,
as first step I have to crop over 1000 images (JPEGs) and saving the cropped areas as new JPGs (same filename, new directory).
So I open e.g. 100 images of them -- each 5 MB -- in Photoshop, select the area to which I want to crop to image, switch to the next image and repeat these two steps. After that I crop the images, save and close them with an "Action" automatically.
Question: is there a possibility NOT working with the original high-resolution bitmaps but with lower ones and afterwars let Photoshop (action, script, ...) apply my individual croppings/selections to the original files?
Advantage: less memory needed (RAM) resulting in a better performance.
At the moment, opened 100 images:
    Thanks!

There is a  big difference between what you write and reality. Your way you have to wait for the 100 images documents you select to be open in Photoshop. Then manually make the crop, them  manually save out a the new image where you want it saved. Then  manually close the document. And you must manually do those three  manual steps 99 more time. For a total of 300 manual steps.
With  the Image processor and action. You set the image processor dialog for the process and click OK, Then select the 100 crops areas by transforming the crop selection everything else is automated.
Interactive means you control the crop selection the action just initiates the interactive selection process for you..  I often do this by recordings a selection of some aspect ratio. Then record transform selection rotating it 180. Followed by recording Image crop as the actions last step.  Then I  turn on the transform selection step dialog to make that step interactive. When the action is played you get to set the selection by manually transforming the selected  area. That will be the area cropped....
The Image process processor Opens each image one at a time. The action sets up a selection which you transform for the crop. The action then crops the document. Then the script  saves out the new document and closes the original document and moves onto the next image document.
All you do manually is make 100 transform everything else is automated. 100 manual operation rather then 300 manual operations
Both ways 100 image documents are opened, 100 image are cropped,  100 image documents are saved and 100 image document are closed. .
300 manual steps will take more time then  100 manual steps. Your write up left out 200 required manual steps. The save and closes operation required.

  • Upright feature: check 'Constrain Crop' by default?

The new Upright feature in LR 5.0 is fabulous, but is there a way to have the 'Constrain Crop' option checked by default? This would save me having to manually check it each time.

Just wondering if you've found an answer to this question. I'm having to manually check the Constrain Crop box for hundreds of images--big pain!

  • Setting Crop Dimensions Default

When I start to crop an image (R or by clicking the crop button in Develop), the crop selection box always is set to Original. I crop most images to 8x10 and would like to have that as default, rather than Original, but I can't find a way of doing it. Any help?
    Thanks

I don't know a way to change the default, but you can set an 8x10 in one image, and then crop-sync it to all your other images. That will have the same effect as changing the default.

  • Crop tool defaults to 'Clone' mode when hotkey is pressed??

Anyone have any idea why the remove spots tool in Lightroom 1.1 defaults to the 'Clone' mode every time I press the 'N' hotkey while in the develop module? I am almost certain that in Lightroom 1.0, it would default to whichever tool you used last (which I preferred much more)...
Does anyone know of a way using keyboard hotkeys to automatically switch to the 'Heal' mode of the remove spots tool? Is there a preference or menu setting somewhere that I am missing?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!
    Micah Diamond

I am running 1.1 on XP and my "N" is sticky, going to Crop or Heal, which ever was used last.

  • How do I set the default presentation resolution to 1028x768?

I looked in the help files and there was no mention.

Whenever you open a new presentation you will get a choice at the bottom left of the window for the size.
Once you have made your selection, every consecutive starting of a new presentation should be set to whatever your last presentation was. (if your last was 800x600 then your next should be 800x600)
If you wanted to change your presentation to 800x600 after discovering it was 1024x768 you can change the values in the first inspector on the left, the Document Inspector. There is a value there for Slide Size.

  • Sickness end date should be Default 31.12.9999

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue with Leave application.
When employee selects " Sickness" from the dropdown of Leaves The end date automatically Sets to 31.12.9999. Which is correct.
But when you put the end date blank it takes the exact date of Start date.
    For Example,
The start date is set to 19.06.2014. Also the end date is kept blank.
Press Enter: The end date takes the date of start date. Which should not happen. It should be defaulted to 31.12.9999
Need help to sort this out.
    Regards,
    Priti

    Hi Siddharth,
Thanks for your reply. There is a Mandatory mark (* in red) for End Date.. I need to remove that for Sickness leave.. I tried that in Component configuration.but could not find way around.
I just need to remove mandatory * from the End date.
Need your help to erase the issue.
    Please help!

  • How to display clear screenshots in PDF when default Acrobat page resolution is 110 ppi?

I want screenshots captured on my 96 ppi screen to display clearly in the PDF. But the Acrobat default page resolution display is configured to 110 ppi, not to the system setting of 96 ppi.
    1) Why is the Acrobat default display 110 ppi and not 96 ppi?
    2) If all Adobe Acrobat and Reader users open PDFs with the default Acrobat setting, how should screenshots taken on a 96 ppi screen be resized to display clearly?
    Thanks

The concept of matching pixels in a bitmap photo to the user's display doesn't exist in PDF. Pages have physical dimensions, not pixel values, so they will always end up being resampled.
