Cropped photos not saving

When cropping, rotating (and other functions of that drop down menu), the picture appears perfect. But once it had been saved to my gallery it is cropped and shrunk to a portion of the size, in no way relating to what I saw on screen. How do.I fix this??

You can rescue the previously saved files by using Windows Explorer to rename them, giving them a JPG extension.

  • Photos not saving to camera roll - iphone 5s

I upgraded to the Iphone 5s from 4s now photos are not saved to the camera roll. Took it to the Genius bar and they restored to factory settings, same problem but they later did a "deep restore" and it worked. When they restored my data, it broke the camera roll again. The only soultion seems to be to "start over". But this is not acceptable. How can I transfer some of the app data (texts, voicemails, and select apps) to the new phone?
Alternatively, how can I "fix" the camera roll?
Some hints: There is a folder in DCIM folder (when viewed with the app iExplorer) called 101APPLE that contains 49 phots and 2 movies from 2010 that I CANNOT delete. Iphoto wont delete them, they wont delete from the phone UI, and they cant be delete with iExplorer - in all cases it SEEMS like they delete then pop right back in!!

The only way photos would go to the camera roll would be if you restored the 5S from an older backup. If you transfered these photos via iTunes sync, they do not go into the camera roll.

  • Problem with photos not saving in camera roll

When I went to take my pictures from my iphone onto my laptop today I discovered I had 2 folders, 100apple and 101apple.
I assumed this was due to the fact that I had reached over 1000 photos, and the numbers have rolled back to 001, hence the new folder.
I moved my photos from my iphone to my folders on laptop, then synched with itunes.
I then tried to take another photo and it wouldn't save.
I have restored my iphone twice, tried taking a photo each time and it has worked.
Then a while later it is back to not saving the photos I take!
I am at the end of my tether right now as I have spent all night trying to sort this out for it to work then undo itself!
    Help would be appreciated.
I have tried deleting the 101apples folder but I am continually being told the folder isn't available as it has been disconnected!

    blueeyes32f,
Have you done a restore of the iPhone, and without loading the backed up data?
    Thank you,
    Nathan C.

  • Edited photos not saving correctly

Sorry about the name. I am new to this program and I tried to join for an hour without success then my hubby took over!!! Now to my serious headache causing problem. After editing photos I saved them to my folder exactly as Adobe Help suggests, in Jpeg format. I can see them in my folder but the icon is blank and Properties suggest they are File format and not Jpeg. What am I doing wrong and how can I correct it...please?

      Can you try an experiment.
    1. Open Full Edit by clicking the edit button on the welcome screen.
    2. On the menu click File à Open
    3. Then open one of your images that has not been edited previously
    4. Make a quick edit e.g. on the menu click Enhance à Auto Levels
    5. Then on the menu click File à Save As
    6. In the save as dialog click the dropdown for Format
    7. Choose jpeg from the list and save.
Let us know if that is working OK.

  • Why are some of my photos not saving?

since downloading iOS 8 on my 5S I've noticed some of my photos having been saving. They will show up in the thumbnail after they are taken but if I click on it, it will show me the picture before that. I've only noticed this when I use my volume keys to take the picture.

    Hi MoLovin,
If you are having issues with your iPhone's photos not displaying in the correct order, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Iphoto 11 , How to save changes to photos, not saving -/ snow leopard

Hi , after much ado then discovering the recent "fix" for Iphoto 11 I started using it today. I uploaded new photos , edited them and quickly discovered that Iphoto was NOT saving any of the changes I had made. There  is no longer a  "Done" button so I went back to again check the few  photos I had adjusted , Iphoto only saved changes for one out of 10 of  the photos I had adjusted.
Is there a "save changes"  function I am missing here? Anyone else experiencing this problem?

How are you exporting? If you select the photo and export (file menu ==> export) with kind = JPEG or current the edited version will be exported
if that is not happening try renewing your preference file -
A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

  • Cropped Photos Not Viewable (iPhoto 6.06)

When I open iPhoto, I can see all of the photo thumbnails. My titles and ratings are still displayed. When I double-click on any photo that has been cropped or otherwise edited, the photo will appear in the Edit Window for a split second, then a large grey square appears with an exclamation point inside it. The photo's information continues to show in the information pane on the left. This only happens with photos that have been edited. Photos that have not been altered, are still viewable in the Edit Window.
    Possible Causes:
I recently upgraded to Leopard. However, when I upgraded to Leopard on my work laptop, all of my photos were still viewable. I really don't think this should have caused the problem.
I also recently uploaded some photos from my work laptop onto my iDisk and then dragged them into my iPhoto Library on my home computer. I did not realize at the time that I am on iPhoto 7 at work. Could this have made a difference?
    What I've tried:
Rebuilding my Photo Library (hold down command-option while launching iPhoto), then selecting...well, I've selected all four options at different times.
Going into the Photos folder and moving the Modified photos into the Originals folder.
Using my last backup (from four days ago), and dragging the Library6.iPhoto file to the iPhoto Library folder on my hard drive.
Taking the folder that I dragged from my iDisk and removing it from my iPhoto Library.
None of these have worked. Help?
    Thanks!

    maybeshark
The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder in the Finder.
If you have made changes in the iPhoto Library Folder then, can you undo them? Return things exactly to the way they were? If you can and this stil does not work, then you have a damaged library file.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file. As this hasn't worked, is suggests that the damage predates the back up.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

All apps are DRM protected & tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using another iTunes account/Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another iTunes account/Apple ID. You'll have to contact iTunes support, explain the situation & request they add your apps to the download queue of your new Apple ID:

  • Why is panorama merged photo not saving correctly?

Why would my panorama merged photo show an exclamation point when saved? It showed the photo merged in the workspace but wouldn't save the picture.

The collage maker has a few bugs. I can’t even use mine as I get an error message as soon as I select any size image. Also there is a very restricted choice of templates. I’m on Windows so you experience is possibly different.
You can do it manually in Full Photo Edit
    Click File >>New >>Blank File

  • Photo Not Saved In Original Folder

If I open Folder A, open a photo from Folder A, and edit that photo, when I'm finished and hit "SAVE", it doesn't save it to Folder A. It saves it to a folder many annoying mouse clicks away. It used to save the edited photo to whichever folder you retrieved the photo from. ALSO, when I click on "OPEN" again, instead of opening  the most recent file I had opened, it opens what seems to be a default folder which contains all the original unedited photos. To get to the location to open the file I desire to work on, it requires many clicks. Sometimes I don't catch it so sometimes I edit a photo from one folder, then another, so my desired "edited" folder has some photos that are not edited, even though I spent time editing them. It's a confusing maze of where some of my photos in one file are edited in Folder A, and others in an identical file (except that some have edited versions). It's a mess.

Thanks, yes I have that box checked and the edited copy and the original remain together but are located someplace else in the folder.  This didn't happen with previous versions of Lightroom.
    Thanks for the response.

  • Please help - Photos not saving

I would appreciate some help here-
the photos I take, screenshot, and try to save will not save to my camera roll. I can take, screenshot, and press the save button, but they won't save to the camera roll! I didn't update lately, (iPad is up to date), it just randomly occurred. I thought maybe since my storage was almost full, that might be the problem. So I deleted plenty of photos that I did not need, clearing up tons of space, but it hasn't helped. I tried the "Restrictions method" I've read about, but it didn't do anything. I'm unsure what to do. If you could help in any way, that'd be great!
    Thank you.

Hi If  you have just done a Factory Resore you need to Download Apps & photos from ICLOUD over your wifi Plug into charger before doing this. This may take upto 2 hours if you have a lot of photos. Cheers Brian

  • Photoshop action replacing previous photo not saving new file

I have multiple photos that I am running an action on but each photo is replacing the one before using the same file name. instead of using the original file name. So I end up with 1 edited photo!!! from the action!
This is happening using cs5 I have not encounted this before.
    Any ideas?
    Rob

    Thanks R-Kelly
I sorted as images imported via drop box were file named !!
    2012-10-15 00.13.26.jpg ,
    2012-10-15 00.14.15.jpg etc
I think photoshop action could not work with the odd file naming???
So re-imported using image browser with file names image_01.jpg, image_02.jpg etc and worked
On cs5.1 on mac os x
    Thanks Rob

Double click the home button. In the bar at bottom touch one of the icons till they shake. There should be minuses in corners (x's delete). Tap minuses for all apps. Reset device by holding Sleep button (at top) and home button until apple screen appears. Retest.

Ipad2.  Since update to iOS 8, the pix I take in Photo Booth do not automatically save in "my photos", so i cannot use those photobooth pix within other apps.  How can I fix this?
    Thanks.

    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.

  • Photos not saving from safari...or any other browser

I recently update my iPhone 5 to iOs 7 and now photos will not save from any browser app. I usually use iCab mobile as my browser but it was saying it didn't have permission to access my photos. So I went to privacy and it wasn't even available to give permission to. I decided it was iCab and then I went to chrome and tried to save a picture. I hit save image, but it didn't go anywhere. So I finally decided to try safari and the same thing yet again. Save image appears but doesn't seem to save anywhere. Am I missing some thing or is this some sort of bug?

Is the iPhone using your Mac to connect?
See if the Mac has any Proxies set...
10.5/10.6 instructions, System Preferences>choose interface>Advanced>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for  HTTPS.
