Cropping Images In Photoshop CS6

I am trying to learn how to use photoshop cs 6.
However I've been watching a video and I just can't figure it out.
Here is the video that shows how to crop the images into same size.
http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2012/07/tip-cropping-two-images-to-the-same-size-in-photoshop -cs6.html
But my photoshop does not have that 'crop size and resolution' thing .. (image)
can anyone help?

Please help!

  • Strange cropping activity from photoshop cs6 to lightroom 4.3

i have never noticed the following activity:
I edited, including cropping, an image in photoshop CS6. I saved the image as a tif and also as a psd. Both sent to a folder which exists in LR catalog. Both images were revealed in LR with the SYNCHRONIZE FOLDER command.
Both images are shown in the appropriate folder, BUT BOTH ARE CROPPED MUCH MORE THAN was done in CS6 editing. Approx 1 inch has been removed along the left side (long dimension) of both images as compared to the dimensions in CS6. They happen to be sitting next to the original image in the LR catalog and it is easy to see the unwanted change. The route from CS6 to LR 4.3 was what I normally use.
WHAR COULD HAVE CAUSED THE APPARENT ADDITIONAL CROPPING SEEN IN LR. Developing in LR crop does allow the image to be restore to proper dimensions by expanding the cropped edge.
wonder if this makes any sense?
I have probably set a switch wrong in LR but cannot find my error. Photoshop seems to have performed flawlsessly.
    I use iMac, i7, 10.8.2, 16GB ram.

thank you cornelia, for your reply.
I really have no workflow as I rarely do more than retouching of photos for others, each of which usually requires an irregular, often trial-by-error workflow. Most of these images are in very poor condition and are less than well photographed.
The "future project" was really a shortcut to say that i suspected that my client cannot open PSD on her machine and I wanted to have tiffs available for her.
I am afraid that i have not clearly described what i saw happen. And, it continues to occur with this single image after repeat tests of the same procedure. NONE of the other images in that folder, or any other image I have, responded in the way I attempted to describe. Probably user error-I guess I will never know!
In any case, I am very grateful that your had the time to respond.

  • I own a Canon 6D and just bought Photoshop CS6 and I am not able to open my raw images into Photoshop CS6. What do I do to fix this?

I own a Canon 6D and just bought Photoshop CS6 and I am not able to open my raw images into Photoshop CS6. I downloaded the camera raw and dng converter for it, but realized in the process that the one I downloaded does not work with my Mac version, 10.9.5.

  • Why does the color change when I open a warm image in Photoshop CS6?

Whenever I open a warm color image in Photoshop CS6, the color of the image automatically changes? Please see the attached screenshots below.
What is the solution to this problem? Please Help.
    I use Windows 7 Ultimate. Photoshop CS6.
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 2000

There is no "problem" to "fix". A raw file is just the data captured by the sensor, not yet an image. To produce a useful image it needs to be processed in a raw converter, either automatically in-camera or with a standalone converter (ACR).
The camera LCD shows you an in-camera processed jpeg, according to the camera manufacturer's idea of how the raw data should be interpreted. There is nothing inherently "correct" about this, and a lot of the original data have been thrown away in the process.
ACR doesn't make any assumptions about how the final image should look. It shows you a neutral starting point, with default settings to preserve as much of the original data as possible. The rest is up to you. You're not supposed to just accept the defaults. The sliders are there for a reason.
You can change the ACR defaults at any time if you come up with settings that are more to your taste.

  • The Newly Redesigned Crop Tool in Photoshop CS6 | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV

There are several advantages to the newly redesigned Crop tool in Photoshop CS6. In this video tutorial, Julieanne demonstrates the refined interface, new features, customizable presets, enhanced tools and essential shortcuts that will make cropping easier than ever.
    http://adobe.ly/LiFbdI

In CS6 if you simply switch to the crop tool after making the selection the crop area is automatically set to the selected area and if you don't want to change anything click on the ok check mark and you are done.  Is that what you want to do?

  • When I open images in Photoshop CS6 they are completely blown out and color  posterzation like appea

When I open my images in Photoshop CS6 they appear considerably blown out - none of the foreground has color and detail seen here-but you can see a posterize like appearancin the sky. The same thing is happening in Lightroom 5.

The work files are tiffs 16 bit - anything that opens in photoshop has the
same look -jpg,psd etc. My images are printed as digital C print by a lab.
I haven't intentionally changed anything since yesterday when I was editing
images. The appearance is the same in Lightroom where my digital image are
stored. I also have scanned film image that open in adobe camera raw.So
whatever is happening occurs both in Photoshop and lightroom.
You suggest a monitor setting, worth exploring, but could a monitor issue
    affect only photoshop/lightroom doc.
    Thanks to PhotoRoy

  • Using the new Crop tool | Learn Photoshop CS6 | Adobe TV

Cropping is one of the most common operations in Photoshop. So it's only fitting that the Crop tool has experienced a quantum leap in CS6. In this movie, watch how to preview the angle of your image to confirm that your crop is plumb. You can revisit a crop any time you like, so you never waste effort. And by default, the Crop tool hides pixels instead of permanently deleting them.

I just installed the new PhotoShop CS6 on my iMac - I am used to it on Windows PC.  Now, when I crop, it does not resize the image to my 640x320 px (it keeps the original size)

From your screen capture it looks like you Placed in an image into a new document as a smart object layer.   When you open the new document  you either selected a preset document size or you entered some custom setting the the document.  The Document has a width and hieght pixel size and the document has a resolution DPI setting. Together they define the document print size in some units of measurement like inches, cc, mm etc.  The Image you placed is also has a size its.  Its resolution size  may much different.  Photoshop will match the placed image to you new open document.  You need to be careful with the resolutions of the document you using Here is a screen capture to document both have the same number of pixels but different DPI resolution Both have the same RAW image placed in and the default place transform accepted.

  • Bridge CS6 can't open image with Photoshop CS6

I installed Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CS6 with my Mac Pro with drive 1, which was cloned with drive 2 as a backup.
Now every time I try to open my RAW file in Bridge, it opens the file with the Photoshop with drive 2 instead of 1.
I have tried to eject the drive 2, but Bridge (with drive 1) fails to find the Photoshop in drive 1.
I have to force to open the Photoshop CS6 before Bridge in order to open the image, is there a way to sovle this problem?

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

If you are actually interested in trouble-shooting please read this (in particular the section titled "Supply pertinent information for quicker answers"):

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far anyway? (Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point.)

  • What is wrong with the crop tool in Photoshop CS6? (picture included)

Ever since I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and started to use the new crop tool, I get this quite interesting visual error and some artifacting.
I didn't have the problem with the crop tool in the previous versions of Photoshop.
    What can be the issue?

Seems like a GPU problem. Can you try going into Photoshop Preferences, disable GPU acceleration and try if that fixes it?
