Cropping pictures in iOS issue
Hello,
I would like to know if somebody else experience the following issue:
After cropping a photo using the native iOS photo application, the images are being sent as "original" size either by email, dropbox, etc.. I also connected my iPhone via USB, browse the picture folders and noticed that the pictures still in original size. In simple words, cropping does not work as expected.
On the iPhone itself, I can see the images perfectly cropped, but is when I want to "export" it or copy it somewhere else that I have this problem.
Any help?
P.S: I tried also on my iPad2 and the results were the same.

When you connected your iPhone via USB, did you import them into the latest Aperture or iPhoto? They will show the edits, Preview won't.

There shouldn't be more than 1 GB "Other" (usually less). There is corrupted data or metadata on the phone. Restore your phone in iTunes using a backup. Rarely, you have to restore as new

After cropping picture is smaller
Now since updated iphoto, when I crop picture it is smaller and not bigger. I use this feature and now it just makes my pictures smaller after cropping.
It's all about the pixel aspect ratio.

When I crop picture (no constraint), choose print, can print picture 4 x 8
When I crop picture (no constraint), choose print, paper and print size, can print picture 4 x 8 for instance, if choose smaller will cut off part of picture. How do I tell iPhoto that I want the whole picture in smaller size? If I crop with specific size, the same thing happens. Help - what I am missing?
Two choices - crop the photo to the print size (4x8 in your example) and print it selecting that print size on the first print window
Or Print and on the first print window after making the selections click customize and right click on the preview and select fit to frame - this will print the entire photos with white space fill on the sides needed to fit

Selecting < or ~ 12 pictures. (picture size are Snapshots with iphone resolution) ->Viewers opens and display them. -> Russian roullette between cmd+k or the little crop button. No indication which one will process a crop or which not. -> Both result in picture selection disappear with no crop.

Not cropped.I just tried what you described (although I can't really fathom why you would describe it as Russian roulette (with a variable number of L's). Unless you've been drinking a lot, which is what people are usually doing when they are playing Russian roulette. Your post was hard enough to decipher without that.
Anyway, my cropping was saved each time. I think there's something wrong with your Preview.app. Have you changed anything about the autosave functions of OSX?
I would try:
Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery
if that doesn't help, then I'd reinstall Mavericks over your current installation. -
I upgraded to iCloud Drive on all of my devices recently (OS X 10.10 & iOS 8.1) and I simply addedd some pictures to the root folder of iCloud Drive in Finder. How can I access these pictures on iOS?
This is new and it doesn't appear to be quite complete yet, so I'm guessing here. It appears that pictures are accessed through "iCloud Photo Library" and the other documents through their own respective iOS apps. There is a "reader" that can see the documents across the iCloud Drive, whlie on your iOS device, but it doesn't seem like it can do anything with the documents. I'm going to be waiting and seeing how all this pans out.

I am having a number of issues including loss of import functionality from scanner, I can't drag and drop photos into the editor any more as well, or at least not after the first one. The crop function stops working after the first couple of photos. Then some freezing. A little added crashing. A plethora of other bizarre issues as well. This just stated happening a couple of days ago.
What I have tried:
Uninstall/Install.
Deleted preferences both before opening Editor (crontrol-alt-delete) and after opening it.

OK! Check it, like I said in previous posts I seemed to have narrowed it down to specific mp3s not converting and playing in their native sample rate which if paired with another sample would give you the "audio midi sync" error and basically screw up your clock! It appears mp3 files converting to mp3 using iTunes would not convert to the correct sample rate if set to something other than 44 in logic and cause this. A tad peculiar Apple iTunes won't work with Apple Logic. I was able to confirm this on two mac's via my friend in Florida. He's running Tiger and tried the same experiment and Booya! Mickey Mouse! It appears this insane week long adventure has came to an end (...god willing) with a super specific unlucky shot in the dark on my part finally revealed to be an perfectly normal function of Logic (obviously one i'm not fond of..) As far as the errors / crashes / system overloads / kernal panics I think I can sort those out to the mackie onyx satellite not being a good choice and trying to add and remove firewire devices in the middle of the sample rate mayhem. Wow! all I can say is, I'm glad it's over

Camera no longer saves pictures in iOS 8.3?
After updating to iOS 8.3, every time I take a picture, either by swiping up for camera from the lock screen or unlocking my phone and going to the camera app, it no longer saves ANY of the pictures I take. I have iCloud Photo Library turned off in hopes that would fix the issue, but it's still not saving anything. It won't even let me click on the thumbnail to view the picture I just took.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost. -
AirDrop showing the wrong name and picture with iOS 7
AirDrop is showing the wrong name and picture on my wife's phone....It is showing my name and picture. She has an iPhone 5 and I just updated her to iOS7 about an hour ago, same time as I did mine. Is it because we are connected with the same Apple ID and if so, how do I fix it? She is annoyed by it and not seeing where I can change it in the settings is beginning to annoy me. Help!
I don't think that's the issue. I'm having the same problem. My wife, my son, and I all use the same Apple ID, but we have different email addresses and phone numbers for facetime and imessage (we've never had an issue with imessage or facetime). Today, I updated my phone and ipad to ios 7 and tried to experiment with airdrop. On both devices it showed my son's name. Then my son updated his ipad and we tested airdrop again. His ipad shows up on my phone and ipad with his name as well. The email address that I use for Apple ID is not associated with him on any device. His name is not listed on our Apple ID account. One of them shows his photo that he uses for his facebook profile, but the other's just have a gray circle with his first initial. I'm hoping it's just a bug that will get fixed soon, but if anyone knows a fix, please share.

Image Limit in Picture Frame iOS 6?
I have a rather large image folder (a few thousand images) that I use for Picture Frame on my iPad 2. Since upgrading to iOS6 I noticed that Picture Frame was only displaying a couple dozen pictures repeatedly, something that was not a problem previously. Is there now an upper limit on the number of pictures that can be displayed from an image folder? (I noticed the same issue with the photo screen saver in Lion.)
I also tried breaking the folder into sub-folders of a thousand or less pictures, and choosing them all in Picture Frame settings for shuffle. That seems to display more images, but only seems to choose from one folder at a time.
I realize that this isn't exactly a critical issue, but such a seemingly arbitrary limitation is aggrivating, and I am curious as to whether anyone else has even noticed the problem, or has a good solution.For what it is worth, I've encountered exactly the same problem. It seems to only want to select pictures from one folder, no matter how much I fiddle with the settings. The same photo set works fine in iOS 5.

I just upgraded today from iPhoto 2 to iPhoto 5 (through iLife '05) and am FURIOUS to find out that my pictures now get cropped when I try play a slide show or create a Book. I shoot a lot of wide-aspect ratio "panoramic" pictures in 35mm, that I then import in iPhoto. With iPhoto 2, those pictures always came out WIDE when I either played them in a slide show; or created a book. But now they are cropped to a 4:3 frame. Does anyone know a work-around to NOT have this happen? I can't find anything on Apple's site. And at worst case, if this not possible, does anyone know how to revert back to iPhoto 2? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, that didn't do it-- at least not for the "panoramic" pictures. They still get completely cropped.
Also, would you happen to know how to deal with this issue as well with creating a picture book? There too, the panoramic picture gets completely cropped. -
Borderless printing on B8550 crops picture
I have a problem when printing borderless on my brand new B8550. Regardless of paper size & picture size, when I print borderless about a quarter inch is cropped from every side of the picture. Otherwise the print is fine, picture goes to ege of paper, quality is great, but I have that quarter inch missing on all 4 sides. I find it very annoying.
I have spent the last 3 weeks with HP trying to fix the problem and they have had me running in circles. At various times they have told me its a printer problem so they sent me a new printer, an Adobe problem so I removed all Adobe software from my machine, my computer is at fault so I tried 3 others. The lastest theory is that it's Windows XP. I'm waiting for a call back.
They claim I have a unique problem. I don't think I do. There's a review of the B8550 printer on Amazon.com where the reviewer has an identical issue.
Does anyone else have the same problem on any printer? Because I think it's a generic problem.nice pun there... yeah.
If it works with the Mac, then there may be an issue with the print drivers for windows, or a firmware limitation. HTat's the only thing i can think of right now.

SDK 16 using new AOT on iOS issues: unresponsive on return from CameraRoll, list skins confused
I am having issues with the "-useLegacyAOT no" (now default) and iOS apps. Under SDK 15 using "-useLegacyAOT yes" no issues. With SDK 16 the app has issues with many things, for example datagrid/list skins don't work - if you manually skin using setRendererStyle, it seems ALL the skin states are using the Selected skins, and the upSkin state uses the selectedUpSkin skin as far as I can make out (in tests this seems to be the case). Another is the app becomes unresponsive to touch on returning from cameraRoll, camera to take a picture or video to record a video - my app is full screen, when it returns from one of these, it is no longer full screen (the top info bar is visible), and I am using stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE when returning from these calls, which worked under the legacy AOT. Since the app is unresponsive, the only option is to reboot the iphone and restart the app - not really an option.
Just catching up with testing using the latest SDK 17 (115) and finding the following: With SDK 16/17 on iOS the app has issues with datagrid/list skins - if you manually skin using setRendererStyle, it seems ALL the skin states are using the Selected skins, and the upSkin state uses the selectedUpSkin skin as far as I can make out (in tests this seems to be the case).

I need to know how to either ICloud selected pictures to my IOS devices. I went to set up icloud in prefrenced but i do not have an icloud prefrence in the systems menu. I thought it might be a software issue but "it Says" i have the lastest software. What i'm trying to do is send pictures that i have put on my Imac to my Iphone or Ipad as i choose. Any help would be appreciated>
You cannot browse the contents of an iCloud iOS device backup, nor selectively restore/delete data from it. The backup is for doing a complete restore of an iOS device from iCloud. You cannot separately restore photos from an iCloud iOS backup.
If your photos were in Photostream they would be downloaded to your iOS device when ou turn it on.
