Cross Fading in flash?

Can anyone tell me how to cross fade images in flash? I am
trying to blend the images on about a 1/4 second cross fade?

yep, pretty speedy, but they do it alot faster than that 'as
seen on TV' ... lol. but how about using the tween class and
running the transitions both in and out at the same time.

    The cross fading settings don't transfer to the iPod, cross fading is only applied to your songs in iTunes. If you're interested you can put in a feature request at this link: Apple Product Feedback

    I know in itunes playback it's simple to have the songs "cross fade" during playback, but does anyone know how to make this also happen when youre storing them as a playlist in your ipod so they will do the same cross fading upon playback? Or if this is even possible? Thanx so much

    Ryan,
    Have you tried resetting your iPod?
    Hold down the Select (centre) and Menu buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
    If that does not work you may need to restore the software on your iPod, follow the instructions here :-

  • Black frame flash when cross-fading still photographs

    Hi, thanks for theuseful answers to questions. I have not seen this one, forgive me if it is somewhere. I am in iMovie HD 6.03 with a MacBook Pro.
    When I cross-dissolve two still pictures ( with Ken Burns Effect on) I am left with a flash on the incoming picture, near the beginning. It is a black frame I can't remove, because doign so will un-render the dissolve! What a Catch 22, adn what a weird glitch!
    I guess the frame comes in where the transition ends, but why would it do that? It is very evident when I play the series of crossfaded stills, it comes out as a big flash on each incoming pic. Does anyone have any workarounds or suggestions for applying the crossdissolve in a different way to avoid this? Or a cosmetic fix? Or maybe I just fade out and back in, what a drag for a whole bunch of pix.
    thanks in advance,
    maynemoon.
    thanks so much.

    Hi maneymoon:
    Welcome to discussions!
    If you delete the transition, you can always put it
    back in without any problems.
    Sue
    Thanks for the welcome, Sue! I am indeed new, but not new to Macs and audio. But this is my first iMovie experience.
    As to your answer, yes, I know I can delete the transition and re-apply, but when I reapply it, I still have the extra frame problem no matter what. ( I was trying to manually remove the extra black frame the transition left me with)
    I am mainly wanting not get this black flash when I do a crossfade between two still pictures, or why I am getting it at all.
    I want to use cross-dissolve transitions between the pictures, but can't get rid of the danged flash! thanks.

  • L170 monitor faded, now flashes on only when settings change

    After bringing my monitor out of standby, I heard a slight pop and then the display faded almost to black, but enough to see the windows as I closed them one by one. The power is working, as the green light is on or blinking.  A Dell monitor worked with the computer so I know it's not the computer.    I hooked up the monitor to my laptop and set the graphics mode to multiple display, and the laptop desktop screen flashed briefly on the monitor, then went dark.  Each time I changed to another setting, I could get a brief image on the monitor.  I swapped out the signal cable from the working monitor and tried it with the L170, with the same results as above.  When the monitor is not attached to a computer, I get the IBM Thinkvision image, followed by the moving  "No connection, check signal cable" message.
    None of the monitor buttons, other than the power button, does anything.
    I saw reference on this site to a "cable select button" but have no idea where that might be.

    hey Nehemiah25,
    welcome to the forums and since you have swapped cables and the results are the same, i suggest getting in contact with our service team about this.

  • Red cross after downloading Flash player?

    I'm only getting red crosses when I have finished downloading the Flash player. Have tried to uninstall, downloading again, restarting the PC etc etc. Followed the trouble shoothing guide, but it's still not working. I have windows 7, and using internet explorer. Latest of Java has been installed. What else can I try?

    Hi, the first and easiest thing to check is in manage add ons (All add ons) and find Shockwave Flash Object...ActiveX Control...Flash10e.ocx (version 10.0.45.2) Make sure it is listed and Enabled.
    You may also want to check your Flash folder to make sure the correct Flash files were installed. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. Right click on the Flash folder and post back all of the files listed there.

  • Cross-browser compatible flash embedding in html5

    I am a newbie with flash with less than a year of experience and this is my first post in this forum.
    I recntly converted my web site from xhtml1.1 to html5 and when it came to flash I was a bit stumped.
    Then the light came on, why not use html5's new and powerful JavaScript engine and I did.
    I was able to use JavaScript to embed the flash object which tested with IE8, FF3.6.4, Safari 5.0, Opera 10.53, SeaMonkey 2.4, Chrome 5,6 and maxthin 2.5 & 3.0.
    I wanted also to keep away from making a http call for swfobject and use the html5 enviornment.
    Therefore, I used the following and placing the JavaScript function within the <head>..</head> tags just above the <body> tag.
    My web site is multi-lingual currently with/for English and German with French and Spanish to follow; the html5 used is simple and it W3C validates it as html5.
    Using the english version this was placed within the head tags
    <script>
           //<![CDATA[
         document.write('<object width="100%" height="100%"  type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="english.swf"  >');
         document.write('<param name="classid"  value="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" />');
         document.write('<param name="pluginurl" value="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,24"  />');
         document.write('<param name="movie" value="english.swf"  />');
         document.write('<param name="quality" value="best" />');
         document.write('<param name="menu" value="false" />');
         document.write('<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"  />');
         document.write('<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"  />');
         document.write('<param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"  />');
         document.write('<param name="scale" value="noscale"  />');
         document.write('<param name="wmode" value="window" />');
         document.write('</object>');
            //]]>
    </script>
    I have also noticed that an iPAD visited my wbe site indicatingn to me that it works on an iPAD and by virtue that this method of flash embedding works with the above borwser types; it is I think a cross-browser method.
    To see this in action feel free to visit my web site and look at the index.html, english.html or the german.html code to see this implemented; the web site is www.mirana.net
    Now my questions is:
    1. is this a good method and why? or why not?
    2. can this be placed mainstream ?
    Thank you for reading this and be merciful in responses

    Hi
    Thanks for replying, I appreciate that.
    I do agree that that an initial view may appear as the 'standard flash embed' but in this case it is not by virtue of its location being between the head tags.
    There is IMHO considerable difference placing this method between the head tags as compared to placing in/on the body.  Try it out yourself in html5.
    1. it valdiates
    2. reduces http calls
    3. appears to load faster but that can be purely dependent upon the visitor's internet connectivity
    4. fundamentally works with all browser that I tested it with
    Traditionally with flash embedding there was an issue with/in validation of the html document and this goes back to 2002 when the 'Satay' method corrected this. As I now understand it with the release of CS5 html that is published uses the object method of embedding.
    The fact that an iPAD was on my web site and viewing pages certainly was a surprise, I only wish I had an iPAD.

  • How to i apply cross fading in adobe premiere elements 8?

    Hi, i am using adobe premiere elements 8 and i would really like to know how to cross fade video like in windows movie maker.  I have tried the cross dissolve and addictive dissolve as well as the fade in and out options and the even the opacity option, but its not getting the same result as windows movie maker.  I really like the way the drag and drop option automatically cross fades the audio and video together and then you can drag it out or in, depending on how much you want to cross the 2 sections.  Is there a way i can do this in adobe premiere elements 8?

    romuloffreitas
    What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
    I had not seen this 2010 thread before. Now when I do (2014), I believe that you are quite right to question what was written and the impression implied
    the Cross Dissolve video transition and Cross Fade audio transition function exactly the same way in Premiere Elements as they do in MovieMaker.
    Premiere Elements and Windows Movie Maker transitions do not "work" the same, at least in slideshow with photos.
    ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Video Transitions - Part 1 Slideshow Duration
    ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Video Transitions - Part 2 How They Work
    This same decrease in total duration of the Timeline content can also be seen by addition of video clips and application of Crossfade video transition in Movie Maker.
    What are you using as your Premiere Elements Cross Dissolve transition alignment? Try "Between Clips" if versions 11 or 12 OR "Center at Cut" for versions earlier than 11.
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.

  • Turn off cross-fading?

    Some songs work well with the cross-fade, but some songs should never fade out, and some should never fade in. Is there any way to tell iTunes "when shuffling, never fade into this song"?
    I tried to submit this as a suggestion, but I see that the iTunes feedback page is now just for requesting music.

    Sure (at the risk of stating the obvious)--turn off crossfading when in the shuffle mode. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear.

  • Flash adds points to crossing pen tool lines

    Hello,
    I notice that when I draw a multi point line with Flash's pen tool and then move a point...
    if the line crosses another line, flash will add a point at the intersection
    of the two lines. I don't want additional points added, is there a way to
    turn this function off?

    Hi
    By default Flash draw objects in Merge Drawing mode which automatically merges shapes that you draw when you overlap them. So turning off Merge Drawing mode / enabling Object Drawing mode will help resolve your problem.
    When Pen tool is selected, select the Object Drawing button  from the Options category of the Tools panel(bottom part of the panel), or press the J key to toggle between the Merge and Object Drawing modes. The Object Drawing button toggles between the Merge and Object Drawing modes.
    For more details on Flash drawing objects please refer

  • Massive bug by combining Shadow/Highlight and a cross fade

    Hi. I found what appears to be a bug by using a cross fade between two clips with the shadow highlight effect. I cross faded two clips (240fps AVCHD from FS700) each with RGB Curves and Shadow/Highlight and sometimes I get this nasty side effect. The side effect is a random white flashing, or rather an erratic application of the shadow/highlight effect. Maybe it's because it is trying to process the effect on footage which is slowly losing opacity due to the cross fade, and as this happens, the colour data changes as a result. This effect may not happen outright when you try it, I think it applies to specific clips, or clips where the shadow number is higher than the highlights or vice versa. It is now happening again in my new edit and this worries me because I like the effect that it gives, but not the buggy side effect.
    Here is the video where I first experienced it. It only appears to happen at 2:18, but now in my next video, it's happening in my opening shot.
    Rendering with gtx570 & pprocs6.

    The problem occurs when two clips that both have Shadow/Highlight adjusment with different values are crossfaded. You get this light dark bands of flickering in the crossfade. It looks horrible.
    SOMETIMES, disabling GPU acceleration works. Not always.
    Setting the clipping amounts to 0, as opposed to the default of .01 will help with the clip flickering, but NOT the crossfade flikering. It will not help
    Using Opacity keyframes as opposed to the Crossfade Video Transition Effect will not help.
    The only sure  way to solve the problem is to make INTER clips. Render the two clips seperately with all shadow/highlight effects, then replace the clips on your timeline with the rendered clips and THEN crossfade them.
    Also, for those of you that simply notice the "sky" in your scenes flickering when using Shadow/Highlight Adjustment, make sure to set at least the Black Clip from .01 to 0. This will stop that annoying flicker throughout the entire clip.

  • A really simple cross-fade image for beginners

    Hello, I would like to put a cross-fading image into a table that is my website header. I don't need anything complicated at all, no controls etc, just want 8 images that fit my cell to continuosly crossfade after 3 seconds or so. Found many scripts/plugins/jquery etc but they all seem very complicated for beginners. I've used 'easyrotator' which is so easy to use, but it doesn't seem to have a cross fade on the free mode, just a swipe and i'm sure I can find similar for free. Maybe I'm missing something but I would have thought dreamweaver (being the helpful prog that it is) would have something to do this?
    Ideally, I would like it to be continuous regardless of the page people are on. I imagine this is above my head so if too tricky, perhaps it could just be random image fade.
    Any advice on the best thing to use here is greatly appreciated!

    Suzie8484 wrote:
    Yes, it's the 'fade' option here: http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/
    There really isn't enough instructions on this website for beginners to understand exactly what and where to put the various code otherwise this would be perfect!
    ok, here goes...i'll try to explain the process.
    1) Insert a <div> on your page and give it the class of 'slideshow' like below.
    <div class="slideshow">
    </div>
    2) Insert your images into the <div> as below: (example below shows images stored in 'images' folder)
    <div class="slideshow">
    <img src="images/beach1.jpg" width="200" height="200" />
    <img src="images/beach2.jpg" width="200" height="200" />
    <img src="images/beach3.jpg" width="200" height="200" />
    <img src="images/beach4.jpg" width="200" height="200" />
    <img src="images/beach5.jpg" width="200" height="200" />
    </div>
    3) Style the 'slideshow' <div> with css. Go into code view and paste the below directly before the closing </head> tag near the top of your page.
    <style type="text/css">
    .slideshow { height: 232px; width: 232px; margin: auto }
    .slideshow img { padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #ccc; background-color: #eee; }
    </style>
    4) Add the jquery scripts to your page. Go into code view and paste the below directly AFTER the css you pasted in above so this code is now directly before the closing </head> tag
    <!-- include jQuery library -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5/jquery.min.js"></script>
    <!-- include Cycle plugin -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://cloud.github.com/downloads/malsup/cycle/jquery.cycle.all.latest.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function() {
        $('.slideshow').cycle({
    fx: 'fade' // choose your transition type, ex: fade, scrollUp, shuffle, etc...
    </script>
    Thats it!.
    Well you would want to make sure the dimensions of the 'slideshow' <div> reflect those of your image.
    So for instance if your image is 300px x 300px the dimensions should be 332px x 332px. (see below) Why the extra 32px - because this is allocated for the 15px left/right/top/bottom padding and 1 px border around the image that you see on the example page.
    <style type="text/css">
    .slideshow { height: 332px; width: 332px; margin: auto }
    .slideshow img { padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #ccc; background-color: #eee; }
    </style>
    Also ideally you want to download the jquery cycle script rather than use the directly linked one just incase in future the script is moved.
    So download the script from the link provided on the page and change this link:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5/jquery.min.js">
    To wherever you keep the script in your site folder (below its kept in a folder named 'jquery_scripts':
    <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery_scripts/jquery.min.js">

  • Choppy Flash video/audio in fullscreen. Fix!

    I've been banging my head against the wall for 24 hours now and this works for me.
    I have an old MacBook Pro, 10.6.8, newest version of Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and a new Focusrite USB audio interface (Scarlett 2i2).
    Installed the newest Flash player (11 something) and the Focusrite yesterday and everything went bad. Choppy fullscreen video, no audio in Chrome etc etc. So anyway, now it's all fine:
    MAC/FLASH: Choppy video, no audio FIX.
    1. UNINSTALL FLASH PLAYER. It *****. And it gobbles CPU power.
    2. Bin the whole Macromedia folder from ~/Library/Preferences.
    3. USE CHROME FOR FLASH SITES (has built in flash player - close Chrome when not in use to shut its flash player, to save CPU power).
    4. ALSO: Have a USB audio interface? AUDIO MIDI SETUP: 44.1kHz OUTPUT.
    That's it. Everything is now smooth in fullscreen in Chrome, and great audio through the Focusrite box.
    *fingers crossed*

    Does removing flash have any affect on the other browsers?
    Yes - flash videos will not play in other browsers. Chrome has built-in flash so it still works.
    However some YouTube videos will (after 2 seconds or so) detect that you don't have flash and default to H264 playback which seems to work fine.
    I've now been using Chrome only for flash palyback for a couple of weeks and it works fine if you follow the steps above.
    Last point - I often have to set Youtube to something lower than HD playback. Maybe just an internet speed thing.
