Cross-system customizing tool - RFC parameters

I am trying to configure the customizing viewer tool as per the link below
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/24/1d77d9f6d011d18e0e0000e8a48612/frameset.htm
I am trying to use the tool to compare the customizing settings between two clients in the same system.
Do I need to create an RFC? if yes, what are the parameters for this RFC? does the tool need a specific RFC name?
thanks in advance,
Tiberiu

Ok, the resolution was to ensure SMB_X82 (in Solman) has the following roles and profiles:
Roles
SAP_SOLMANTMWCOL
Z_SOLMAN_BACK
Profiles
D_SOLMAN_RFC
S_BDLSM_READ
S_CSMREG
S_CUS_CMP
S_SD_CREATE
S_TMW_ADMIN
This resolved my issue.
Thanks

  • CSOL Cross System Object Lock - RFC error in satellite system

    Hi
We are currently implementing Solution Manager 7.1 (ChaRM) and of the mandatory requirements is to activate Cross System Object Lock.
I have globally activated this in Solman and have gone into /TMWFLOW/CMSCONF to activate for our development client. This is now activated.
A transport has now been created in ChaRM and I login to the above mentioned development system and make a customizing change. I then choose the transport and save change. I am presented with an error:
"Error in RFC SM_DSMCLNT001_BACK to Solution Manager System" (Message No. STMWFLOW025)
I have now been looking at this for a few hours and found OSS Note 824521. However, I have already done all this. From a RFC perspective we have:
    SOLMAN:
SM_DSMCLNT001_BACK - works fine in SM59. The assigned user has all the correct profiles.
In transaction SDCCN, the above RFC appears also.
In transaction SM30, table BCOS_CUST, "CHARM_DEST" and "OSS_MSG" are both set to destination NONE.
    SATELLITE SYSTEM:
In transaction SDCCN, the above mentioned RFC exists
In transaction SM30, table BCOS_CUST, "CHARM_DEST" and "OSS_MSG" are both set to the above mentioned RFC
The user SMB_DSM for the RFC only exists in Solman and not in satellite system. Don't think this is needed though.
As soon as I deactivate CSOL in /TMWFLOW/CMSCONF in Solman (for development client), I can make changes and the above error (in red) does not appear. However, we needed CSOL working and this error not to appear.
    Any suggestions???
    Thanks

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7a/27bcf087c7464db8b95eaa717b6e6a/content.htm
In the above link when I go to Maintaining control Parameters for Data Transfer I saw a procedure for the same.
My doubt is I want to go to <b>Client Maintenance</b>, How should I go.
Where is this <b>Source System</b> on which I can go to the<b> tools</b> on the menubar. Is it on the Administrative Workbench?
    Please help me.
    Sudha.

I think what you want is in SCC4 as Roberto mentions:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/93/eb4b3c45b90b76e10000000a11402f/content.htm
    Setting Up the New Client
You set up the new client with client copy tools and a template client: Use the functions of the client copy tool to do this. To call these functions, choose Tools > Administration > Administration > Client Administration > Client Copy.
To prevent client settings from making changes to Repository objects and cross-client Customizing data, use the client maintenance functions. To call these functions, choose Tools > Administration > Administration > Client Administration > Client Maintenance (or call Transaction SCC4).

  • How to define RFC parameters

    Hi Experts,
i am using a RFC FM to from SRM system to ERP system. in ERP system the RFC FM parameters refer to some structures or tables which are not in SRM system.
but i should transfer these parameters in SRM system to call this RFC.
can anyone tell me how to define the parameters in SRM system?

    Hello,
I also had to work with RFC to call SRM function module from an ECC system. I recommend you very strongly to create your own RFC function module in SRM and your own DDIC structures in both systems with just the fields you need. This custom SRM RFC function module, map the parameters to the standard 100+ field DDIC structure and call the SRM function module (not using RFC at this time of course).
Why did I say "very strongly" : DO NOT duplicate the 100+ field DDIC structure from SRM to your RFC client system (by transport or manual copy), because some support packages add fields to some include structures of the complex structure, and they are inserted somewhere in the middle, and so it probably makes obsolete your duplicated DDIC structure.
    Hope it's clear

  • Cross system lock for Contracts

    Hello Experts,
I really appreciate if someone route me in right direction for below scenario:
Requirements: We used standards SALESCONTRACT object to download salescontracts from R3 to CRM, additonally development custom XCONTRACT object to replicate from CRM to R3. Now I would like to introduce cross system lock similar way of Sales Order. Do you recogn this will work out or any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Bob

If you use the report TMW_TRKORR_LOCK_UPDATE against the role transport after saving your changes in it, this will register the role objects in the CSOL.
The Role transport tool does not automatically trigger the FM that registers the objects in the CSOL, just like manually adding objects to a transport doesn't trigger it. Therefore the workaround is to run this report. Only the transport owner is allowed to run TMW_TRKORR_LOCK_UPDATE.
In our experience it is not that CSOL does not support roles and authorizations; for the purpose of retrofit, it is able to detect conflicts reliably if the report is run consistently after saving role changes to transport. If no conflicts exists, auto-import works fine. If conflicts exist, then roles must be manually retrofitted.

  • Reg:Issue in custom FM[RFC]

    Hi,
Scenario is i am updating pa0008 infotype by using HR_INFOTYPE OPERATION function module, this is used in my Custom FM[RFC] along with 3 fields.ANSAL,PAY.SCALE TYPE AND LEVELS and it is working fine. Now requirement changed i need to updated wage types in PA0008 table while entering new ANSAL which is already updating as above mentioned.
Could you please suggest how i need to update respective wage types for the newly entered ANSAL amount in my RFC without making or writting code for calculations to the wagetypes in my custom FM[RFC].

    Hi Rama,
    Check in the link below.
    RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ?
I think it doesn't work in SE37 if you try to execute it by giving a data provider name, rather you should be calling it in a program by assigning the required fields to individual parameters.

  • Cross-systems analysis and max. rules for a risk

    Hi all,
Customer environnement: GRC AC RAR 5.2 linked to 3 R3 4.6C environments (FB0, FB1 and FB2) with different purposes. Users and roles can exist in the 3 systems so we need to run cross systems analysis.
It turns out that the cross-systems analysis works well only if you declares the functions on only 2 environments (FB0 and FB2 or FB0 and FB1).
If we declare the functions on 3 environments (FB0, FB1 and FB2) one reaches the maximum number of rules for a risk, namely 46 655.
This limit is it revised upwards in version 5.3 (if yes, how?)
Or there happens a workaround solution to run cross system analysis on multiple physical systems (the customer environment target is 6!) ?
    Regards

The limit is based on the number of character combinations are available for a risk, so if the number of characters has been increased thenteh number of rules available won't have been increased.
In AC 5.3 the number of characters for a risk ID is 4 which is the sames as AC 5.2 therefore I doubt trhat the limit has been lifted of the code changed to accomodate mor rules per risk.
The only way around the issue is to create smaller risks instead of looking in systems 1, 2 & 3 look in 1 & 2, and 2 & 3 and 1 & 3.  Not ideal but at least you will get some results.
Sounds likje an enhancement request needs to be raised to me.

  • SOAP - PI- R/3 RFC  Scenario RFC parameters are not comming

    Hi Experts,
    I created one scenario as SOAP ->PI 7.1 -> R/3 RFC call.
When I am testing this scenario Backend RFC is getting called but somehow RFC parameters are coming as blank. In XSMB_MONI it is creating two messages as successful one with correct payload.  But when I put debug code at the start of RFC , it is going to the debug code  and input parameter values are showing as empty.  Please tell me where can I check?
    Thanks,
    Siva Rama

    Hi Siva,
Please check in the SXMB_MONI of the receiver SAP System.
If the parameters are getting populated here then it must be passed to the RFC.
Make sure you have imported the RFC from the receiver system itself.

i am not understanding why it is getting for me, Please help me

    Hello,
Whoever wrote the CustomCodeGenerator will have to help you with this one. We know nothing about the underlying code they are using and therefore can't determine the cause.
Appears the error is it can't even load the report so there is something wrong with the workings. Open the report again in CR Designer and Verify Database and then check the changes you did. Something is not right or the DB driver their application is using does not match with what you are using.

  • Use of Cross-System Bussines Areas - ALE

    Hi,
I'm cutomizing an HR and PY ALE scenario.
Does anyone knows how to use different values in Cross-System Bussines Areas.
I did it, and to send Master Data IDOCs it works perfect, it makes the conversion. But when I do the payroll run, it does not convert the value. So maybe I'm not doing the right customizing in OBB7 transaction or maybe this is not possible.
I would appreciate all your help.
    Regards

    hi
From my knowledge , you can create the order in different planning plant ,but every time you have specify the planning plant while creating the order. in this way the cost will be captured at the 2000 company code.

also you can create separate work center for that plant do the billing according to the job performed

  • LSMW as a customizing tool

    Hi all,
We are searching a good method to organize the customizing for a project. We have heard that the LSMW can be used as a customizing tool. That is, for example you save all the customizing for SAP system and you can load this customizing into another system.
Can that be made with LSMW??? Can anyone provide us with some examples about this use of the LSMW??
    Thanxs.

Panel is the name, Palette has been abandoned.
Anyway, I can find what appears to be the set you are looking for in the fly-out-menu.

    Hi,
Probably because of timeout, it is unable to execute the request ..so it is aborted.
btw, is it a synchronous call ? what is the message size ? the given data to RFC is correct and valid structure ? check the mapping .for this use the data from SXMB_MONI and test it
Check this blog for timeout errors-

  • Calling two diferent R3 systems for same RFC

    Hello Everybody,
    My scenario is:
I have one RFC in two different systems. this is the same RFC available on two systems. I want to call this RFC from the Web dynpro application. System will be determined at runtime to call this RFC.
If user selects System XYZ then using hte same RFC model, RFC should be executed on XYZ. If user selects System ABC then using hte same RFC model, RFC should be executed on ABC.
Can we achieve this using single RFC model in one web dynpro application?
If not, then can we create two RFC models containing same RFC?
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Hi Bhavik,
Use these links for ur requirement.
The logical target system name is configured in the Web Dynpro Content Administrator.
With the configuration of the Portal page, you pass the following URL parameters with the Web Dynpro application. These parameters are then taken into account when the application is started.
    sap.wdarfc.useSys=<DEFAULT_SYSTEM>:<SUFFIX_OF_MAPPED_SYSTEM>
If several systems are to be mapped, the parameter sap.wdarfc.useSys can be repeated any number of times within a URL entry. One parameter entry is made for each logical system.
The URL parameters for the Portal page are maintained as described in the Administration Guide of the SAP Enterprise Portal.

  • Business area in Cross System

    Hi,,
Kindly tell me while we run WE05 for IDOC List then we get the message No cross system business area has been assigned to business area BA11
        Send me urgent solution.
    With Regards,
       Samrat

The business area has to be assigned to a Cross-system business
area in your ALE-customizing.  This can be done via the customizing path:
    Call transaction SALE
-> Modelling and implementing Business Processes
       -> Cross-Application settings
          -> Global Organizational Units
            -> Cross-system business areas
    Good luck, Kyoko

  • Cross-client customizing are not permitted

    Hi,
I am trying to remove "Transformation Object" in BI 7.0, QA server, and it not allowe to me access, I have SAP_ALL access
I am getting this error messages:
"changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted"
I know we can't change anyitng in QA its goes through Transport, but the problem is DEV system this objects didn't show and QA this objects shows, so I want to remove this bi object from QA system
I know while installation NW 2004s its post installation steps to not change objects
in SE06 I am trying to change these objects to modifible but still not allow to changeable
    please help me out

    Hi Angeline,
In transaction SCC4 double click the client on which you are working. There will be a setting "Changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted." Modify this option to "Automatic recording of changes."
Making that will allow you to delete the object.
Make sure after you achieve your desired objective, you revert back the client settings to "Changes to repository or cross-client customizing are not permitted." Also revert back the settings in SE06 in QA to the original what you had in post installation.
