Cross Tab report in details section

Hi All
I am new to Crystal Reports and have a few queries related to a cross tab report. I am trying to design a report as follows
Rows: Cost elements
Columns: 12 months,YTD and Total Year for Actuals & then 12 months,YTD and Total Year for Budgets
Gruop By: Cost Centre
For Example;
Actual Budgets
Apr May June July.....YTD FY2010 Apr May June July.....YTD FY2010
Manpower Cost
Rent
Total Cost
1. Since I need the above table for every individual cost centre, is it possible to group by Cost centre and then build a cross tab report in the details section?
2. If not, is there any other way by which I can create the above table without using cross tab?
3. For the YTD values, should it be calculated in the BW query (I am using BW queries as the datasource) or in Crystal Reports? and how?

Thanks for your inputs. Currently I have designed my report in the same way (group by cost centre & cross tab in group header section). However, I am still looking for a way to calculate YTD & Quarter values in Crystal using a formula. I am debating whether it should be calculated in BW or in Crystal.

You need to put your title in the page header if you want it to appear on every page. The report header only displays once per report.

Hi, I use Crustal 11.0.
I have a cross Tab. I display the items on the left column and the months horizontally, the items are grouped by category field. The values are the sum of quantities are displayed for each month. Like this:

The problem, I want to add a page header for each page of the report.
When Crystal reports first displays my cross-tab in the designer, CR displays the cross tab in the Report header section. I d like to add text or image for each page and not only at the begining of my Cross-Tab.
If I just add an image or text at the top of the report designer, which is my report header, I get the image or text only on the begining of the 1st page of my report but never in the other following pages.
If I try to work around the problem and move the cross Tab to a group section instead, and then put the Image in the group header, I get what I want, but the problem is that:
The columns header: Jan, February....December are displayed for each group of my report and not only in the beginning of the report. I get something like this:

You see the months get duplicated. Any way, my real need is to add an image or text in the header of EACH page of a cross-Tab report.

Hi Divya,
you could do for example in the wdDoInit() of the view
wdContext.currentContextElement().setPicture("picture.gif");
Now you assign this context variable to the Tab using the Tab_header's imageSource-Property. When you click on its value column, you see a button with three dots on it. If you click on this button, you will get all context nodes and attributes for this View. Usable variables are clearly marked, you now choose the one named Picture or what ever name you prefer to use. But it must correspond to the one set in the wdDoInit.
I think setting a picture (not necessarily for the tab-page) is done in one of the excellent tutorials. If you are a newcomer I strongly recommend doing some of the tutorials. I have learned tremendously from them.

SAP Crystal Report - Formula in Cross Tab Report

I have a below requirement in a cross tab report,
Category          Name          Valu1          Value2    %ge
A                       Car               40                  50        80
A                        Bike             30                  60        50
Total                                       70               110     63.6
%ge is a formula field and is calculated as value1/value2 * 100
Consider the Total section as a group footer.
In the cross tab report how do I put the formula field for %ge in Total section.

Crosstabs are very structured and you are limited in what you can do with them. You can do a percentage summary in Crosstabs, but only as a percentage of the row total or the percentage of the column total. You cannot put a formula in the crosstab to do a percentage of a values in seperate rows. Any time I need to perform a function not available in a crosstab, I do a manual cross tab. Drill down on cross tab report

I would like to know whether it is possible to drill down through groups in a cross tab report.

go to your online help in crystal reports and in the index section, look up "report part navigation".
read through the sections on report parts and go through each section (using the right arrow at the bottom left of the help page) until you hit the section that is titled "context Report Part option scenarios".

More than one summary column in cross tab reports

Hi,
I have a cross tab report. The summary column is SUM. I want to add another summary column next to SUM which will be AVG(Average) column.
Any ideas?

hi Anurag,
my fault...i should have looked closer at your data.
here's the easy way of showing two sets of summaries at the end of a crosstab, without having duplicate columns.
1) copy your existing cross-tab and paste it to the right of your current cross-tab.
2) now go to the cross-tab expert of the new cross-tab and remove the fields from the Column dialogue
3) change the summary to an Average
4) exit the cross-tab expert and go to the Section Expert for the section where both cross-tabs are...ensure that you check Relative Positions
preview the report. now you'll have to move the 2nd cross-tab a bit so that it aligns properly with the first one.
as a sample, see the attached report. extract the contents and change the .txt extension to .rpt.

Page headers in cross tab report

Hi,
I have created addon in SAP B1 2007A PL 46. This includes crystal reports that use .net crystal runtimes.
One of the reports is crosstab report.
It is required that each result page of report display a header. When I set it in page header section, it comes up only on the last page.
Text in Report header comes up on the first page.
This cross tab report spans multiple pages horizontally.
Can anybody help me in this.

The page header in this multi page report would be acrossing all pages. You may edit it to across the whole range to duplicate the first page header manually. You may set up Preview Start Pages Start with - Fit Page under report option to set them up.

Cross tab report-dyanamic columns for months and quarterly sum

Hi all,
I work on report creation in BI Publisher.I need to display values in a cross tab report in a way that it shows data for 3 months and then a column for its quarterly sum.
For ex:-
Market --Jan Feb Mar Q1_sum Apr May Jun Q2_sum ---------------like wise for n months
Market1 100 --80 --30 -- 210 --10 -- 80 --90 --210
Market2 120 --90 --40 --250 --100 --70 --30 --200
Market3 130 --70 --60 --260 --140 -- 0 --40 --180 ('--' just to maintain indentation)
The values of number of months( date range) and the names of market are derived dyanamically .
The code from my sql query presently shows months-range (Jan ,feb,mar..), Quarterly sum to be displayed, Market names etc as child elements in multiple occurences main Query set.

<Months-Range>abc</Months-Range>

After that in fact table by using the (ago/todate) function ....pull the respective columns to pivot table columns section(date column) and measures col in measures section and enable the grand total in columns section so that it will show grand total for every quarter

Dynamic parameter passing through hyperlink in Cross tab report

Hi,
I have a requirement in which I have to create a hyper link to parent report (measures) the format of parent report looks like
1. Left side Dimensions
2. Report header contains again with dimension
3. Body of the cross tab contains some details , dimensions and measures.
Here My requirement is to create a hyperlink on mesures (body) so that the corresponding left side dimension and dimension value in the header should go as input parameters to child report dynamically. The child report has two prompts . i.e both are dimensions and based on the input data from parent the child report displays the granular data.
Can any one help me how to create a hyperlink to pass dynamic values on columns and not hardcoding values.

Hi,
I'm trying to do something very similar. I have a crosstab report with dimensions on the left (month/year) and on the header (ticket category). However, I'm having trouble passing the measure in the intersecting cell to a child report. This measure is created from the fact table and equates to a count of the tickets. However, it's not exactly 'select count(ticketID) from tablename' and I think that is part of my problem.
In the child report (tabular), I'm passing the same month/year and category dimension values. However, I'm not sure how to pass the measures over. What I want is basically a detailed list of the ticket IDs in a tabular form.
So for example, in the parent report, if there are 12 tickets listed under Jan 09 & category A; then I want the child report to list those 12 tickets.
My problem is that I'm getting more than 16 instead of 12 records.

Empty regions in Cross Tab report

How to remove the blank spaces, empty spaces in a cross tab report? Basically ,I created a cross tab report and in my report I have multiple fields in the left section of the cross tab. And because of this a huge empty region comes up directly above the left section of the cross tab. Is there a way to remove or format the report so that I can avoid the empty regions ?

You can use a formula. e.g
< Basic format>
Select case year({Command.tradeDate})
    case 2005 to 2007
        formula = 1
    Case else
        formula = 0
end select
Then on the crosstab column group options, choose "specified order" and on the "Other" tab choose "Discard all others"

Cross tab reports

I have created a report in Crystal and on top of the report there's a cross tab report. Why isn't all the info from the report pulling into the cross tab report?

There could be many reasons. Do you have any parameters that are limiting you data? Is the Crosstab in the
page header or footer, or in a group?
If you create a plain report, "no crosstab" put a field in the details and run, how many records do you get?
Now go back to the Crosstab and run, how many records do you get?
If the numbers are different, my assumption is you have a filter, or a parameter that is not allowing the data to show,
or your Crosstab is based on a field that is occasionaly a null.

Oracle XML cross tab report

Does anyone have any samples on how to create a XMl cross tab report? I have 3 sections 'WIP', 'On-Hand', 'KANBAN' that contain subinventory and locator information. I need the data to go across per item. The problem I'm having is if one of the sections doesn't return data then the sections shifts left causing the data to not align with the headers.

Crystal Report Cross Tab Report

In crystal report 2008, i created a cross tab report. Column shows sales order number and rows show item number.
For columns that shows sales order #, I also wanted to show sales person name field right beside it. In cross tab expert, I added the field salesperson name.
However, crystal cross tab shows the sales person at a separate column with duplicate information. I only want to show sales order no. with sales person name under one column. Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks.

This would be a hard job.
Have you tried Pivot Table function in Excel? You can play with it and get some ideas.
