Cross Validation Rule - Should all segments be included in the rule?

I have 6 segments in GL, While i want to restrict Accounts for a given cost center and Company combination, I wanted to know if i have to also put a 00 and 99 to the other segments like Project Future and intercompany. Ex: For CC and Company combination 01 and 2345 the account 654321 must be restricted. I dont have any condition for the other 3 segments, Project, Future or Intercompany. In this case my exclude should be
Exclude:
Segment Low High
CC 01 01
Company 2345 2345
Account 654321 654321
Project
Future
Intercompany
I left Project, Future and Intercompany as blank. Should i enter value even for those? Should it be like this?
Segment Low High
CC 01 01
Company 2345 2345
Account 654321 654321
Project 000000 999999
Future 0000 9999
Intercompany 0000 9999
Please advice.

When creating a business rule, under Actions there is "Must be maximum length of" and "must contain patern".

  • Outlook 2013 Rules issue when more than 50 rules exist ("The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange").

I think I may have found a bug.
My Outlook 2013 profile has more than 75 rules. When I started testing Outlook 2013, I got the message "The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange. Only one set of rules can be kept. You will usually want to keep the rules
on the server. Which rules do you want to keep?"
    I did the following troubleshooting:
    1. I created a new Outlook profile. This didn't fix the issue.
    2. I exported my rules, cleared them using "outlook /cleanrules", then reimported the rules. This didn't fix the issue.
    3. I cleared the rules again (outlook /cleanrules), then hand-entered the rules. This also didn't fix the issue.
    4. I reduced the number of rules to less than 50. This FIXED the problem.
    5. When I entered rule #51, the problem came back. When I removed ruled #51, the problem was again fixed.
Does anyone know of a fix or workaround to this issue?
    Thanks.

Sounds like you went over your "rule quota limit" as you do have a great number of rules.  Please see the link below for cause and possible resolution.

  • Mail 6 DID NOT save my rules and signatures: how do I get the RULES back?

When I had the UNFORTUNATE idea to switch (that is to DOWNGRADE imho) from 10.6.8, the new Mail, among the MANY PROBLEMS IT CREATED TO ME (see my other posts about blocked plug-in messages, etc.), DID NOT care at all about saving my signatures and rules.
I found the signatures as webarchives in user/library/mail/v2/mail data/signatures, and just clicked on each one and did LOTS of TIME CONSUMING copy-paste to CREATE new signatures from within mail preferences.
I wasn't able to do the same for the MANY rules I had.
Also, in the previous Mail, it was possible to simply do a command-f inside the To or Bcc fields to check if I had forgotten someone. Now it is NOT POSSIBLE any longer. Anyone knows ho to re-establish that possibility?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I went back to the MUCH BETTER Snow Leopard and I have NONE of the problems I encountered with the windoz-like "lions", I have my fast and perfectly functioning computer and system with 10.6.8

  • Business Rule error: Accounts are not available in the rule table

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem running the Business Rule for the profit/loss copy to the equity account.
The Business Rule I set reads from all P&L accounts, P&L specific flow, acual category, all datasources and then it writes everything keeping the source settings apart from the account destination (the equity profit/loss account) and the flow destination (I write in two different flows, so the rule is made up of two equal lines differing only in the flow destination). "PROFIT" is the ID I chose.
Then I created the related script logic (ID=CALCACCOUNT):
    *RUN_PROGRAM CALC_ACCOUNT
    CATEGORY_M = %CATEGORY_M_SET%
    CURRENCYLABEL = %CURRENCYLABEL_SET%
    TID_RA = %TIME_SET%
    CALC=PROFIT
    *ENDRUN_PROGRAM
Finally, the prompt ( process chain: CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT):
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,,"CATEGORY_M,CURRENCYLABEL,TIME")
    TASK(/CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT_LOGIC,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(/CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT_LOGIC,SAPPSET,%APPSET%)
    TASK(/CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT_LOGIC,SAPP,%APP%)
    TASK(/CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT_LOGIC,SELECTION,%SELECTION%)
    TASK(/CPMB/RUNCALCACCOUNT_LOGIC,LOGICFILENAME,CALCACCOUNT.LGF)
But anytime I run the package it fails giving me the message error: "Accounts are not available in the rule table".
I tried every possible change but nothing; if someone could help me somehow I'd be really grateful!!
    Thanks
    Filippo

    Hi James,
Thanks for your quick response. There is no currency dimension in the application... I've tested with the correct businessrule as CALC value, but this didn't do the trick.
    Any other suggestions?

  • Top bar displays in two colors. It should all be blue and now the middle third is brownish. deleted and reinstalled it to no avail.

The bar in which the Black apple is located along with File Edit View History Bookmarks is blue.
Then Tools Window Help up to the battery charge is brown/beige. Then the rest returns to blue.
I have a photo which displays this problem very clearly.
The other problem I have is that I teach college courses online using a platform called Blackboard. While Firefox is the recommended web browser I cannot use it. When I scroll down a page in blackboard the text in the various documents disappears from the screen. It does not delete it, it just cannot be seen. All that remains is a white page.
    Thanks so much!!!

    Hello,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
    Please report back again soon!
    Hope this helps!

  • HT2486 Address book data loss / iMac 10.5.8 / despite backing up on a NAS all data lost, including in the backup. How can I retrieve it? Thanks

Help! All my address book data disappeared from one day to the next. I entered my NAS back-up but all the address books going back in time are empty.
Then I got clever and thought I would sync my contacts from my iPhone 4 to my iMac. Brilliant idea - now all my iPhone contacts are gone as well except for 14 address that must have been input after my last sync with iTunes.
Can anyone help my find my lost data?

  • Cross Validation Rules logic back to front.

    Hi All,
We have a cross validation rule to: "Cost/Profit Centre must be 0000 for this Balance Sheet natural account."
It is setup to Include: 0000.000000.0000.000.00.000.0000.00.0000 - ZZZZ.ZZZZZZ.ZZZZ.ZZZ.ZZ.ZZZ.ZZZZ.ZZ.ZZZZ
    and Exclude: 7281.302623.0001.000.00.000.0000.00.0000 - 7281.303419.ZZZZ.ZZZ.ZZ.ZZZ.ZZZZ.ZZ.ZZZZ.
This rule allows us to control which accounts can post to cost centres and which cannot. So using these rules, any accounts in the range 302623 till 303419 cannot accept postings to a 0000 cost centre. So if we try to use 7281.303410.1234, we will get the message pop up and tell us we cannot use this combination, and that it must be 7281.303410.0000.
Now, we want to change this rule so we can start to accept postings by cost centre to account 303410. So that in future, postings to 7281.303410.1234 will be accepted and will not throw up the warning message.
Seeing our setup above though isn't 7281.303410.0000 already EXCLUDED from the rule?
To actually exclude it from the rule we have had to create a new exclusion: -
    EXCLUDE: 7281.303623.0001 - 7281.303409.ZZZZ
    EXCLUDE: 7281.303411.0001 - 7281.303419.ZZZZ
So now our combination 7281.303410.1234 exists between these two exclude ranges. Only this way it works. But it seems back to front logic.
Can you please advise if our understanding is correct or not?

Perfect! This is how you define cross validation rules. It's not back to front but from R11.0.3, Oracle standard is to use the cross validation rules like this.

  • Cross validation on cost allocation flexfield

We have setup a cost allocation ff with the option to cross-validate segments. We have correctly defined cross validation rules. Yet, when entering costing information for an element entry, the system allows us to enter a combination which violates our cross-validation rules. We have already checked that this combination was not existing before we created the rule so we do not understand why the rule is not working. Any ideas?

did u try with the below error message
ID HRD for the flexfield segment Profit Centre does not exist in the value set PROFIT_CENTRE.

  • How to test the rule if multiline container is passing to the task?

    Hi Experts,
I am working on leave workflow. I have to get the approvers based on no of days of leave and leave type. I am getting these details in ITEMS_TAB internal table. I am passing this table to a rule. Now my problem is when I tried to simulate the rule I am not getting any input screen to enter the data.
ITEMS_TAB is an internal table type of   "PTREQ_ITEMS_WF_TAB_FLAT".
In the rule I have created a container by selecting the radiobutton "ABAP Dict. Data Type" and entered the above reference parameter is it right way?
Is it possible to test the rule independently if I use multiline container as import parameter in my rule?  If so can anybody please tell me how to test the rule?
    Thank You.
    Srija.

    Hi Pavan,
                     Thank you.
To copy the values I am not getting any input screen to input the values. I observed one thing that the type that I am referring in the Rule is a deep structure. Is this is the reason that I am not getting the input screen to enter the values?
I tested by creating aother rule by taking a field for that rule I am getting the input screen to simulate the Rule.
Can you please suggest if the rule will not work then what I have to do? without the rule how can I get the agents?
    Thank you.

  • Ruler Doesn't allow me to choose a "place" that's not a point on the ruler.

    Hi,
I'm having an issue, I'm new to illustrator. I'm busy with an Image, now i could use trace, but learning how to use the illustrator tools etc.
The Question is, i have placed a Guide Line on the art-board ruler, its not on a point on the ruler (5cm, 6cm, 7cm), its mealy placed between the points, in other words, a point will be 5cm, 6cm, 7cm; I've placed the guide line on about 5,3cm. Now i cant seem to a-line the square image to the guide line placement, it goes directly to 5cm or 6cm but it doesnt want to be placed between that point, eg 5.1cm to 5.9cm
I would also like to mention, when i use the transform window, it skips 5.1cm to 5.9cm and only gives me ...5cm, 6cm or 7cm etc. It only a-lines to the points on the ruler and nothing in-between
    Help will be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    AppleBottom

Thanks for the quick reply and for the advice. But its not working, it still doesn't a-line it correctly.
Yay see i can upload an image, see below.
The black square a-lines to the "tini grey lines on the ruler" and that's it , cant a-line it to the Guide line
    Can the below be fixed?

  • Cross-Validation Rules: How to re-validate segments all ready enabled?

Is it possible to call one of the APIs to re-validate the code combinations againts the Cross-Validation Rules? If the enabled flag is set to 'Y' then the CVR is ignored. I am aware of the Cross-Validation Rules Report which is helpful, but I need to go a step further. I'm looking to loop through the gl.gl_code_combinations tables, re-validate the combinations that are enabled, if CVR fails then determine if there are any amounts that need to be moved prior to disabling the combination.
    I have a routine that:
    1. creates temp table of all enabled combinations
    2. loops through gl_code_combinations
    3. deletes record from gl_code_combinations, do not commit
    4. calls API fnd_flex_keyval.validate_segs
    5. updates status of temp table
    6. rollback deleted record
    7. repeat 2 - 7 until done
    8. query gl_balances using temp table combintions that have failed.
I'm a little nervous to run such a routine, because of the delete.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jamie

Use where clause for that UDA's in attribute that refer to other attributes data source. the where clause may required use Lookupcodes, these lookup codes may have to be configure in the source attribute values table column.

  • Cross validation & Security rules

    Hi,
In a typical business scenarios which are the code combinations recommended for
    i)Cross Validation rule
    ii)Security rule
    to have better control?
    Thanks

    Hello.
It depends on your needs. Suppose you have 2 (01, and 02)companies sharing the same Chart Of Accounts. In order to avoid entering journals from company 01 into company 02 you should create a security rule to reject all code combinations starting by 01 when a Responsibility from company 02 is being used.
Cross validation rules are used to avoid the creation of code combinations that you may think as inappropriate within the company itself. For example, to use the Cost Center segment when the Account segment is not a cost or a revenue.
