Crossed out setting in css designer

Can someone tell me what it mean when there is a setting that is scratched out in css designer?  I think it mean that other settings are conflicting with the setting I am seeing but not sure?  can it mean that multiple settings have been applied to the same element?  This mostly revolves around when I am working in fluid grid.

It means that the property is being overridden on the element currently selected in Design or Live view. Mouse over the strike-through line, and you should see a tooltip telling you which rule overrides the value on the current element.

  • How to set image border with CSS Designer?

I must be missing something obvious...
I need to set an image border. I select the image. But I don't see any relevant inline style option in CSS Designer.
It only lets me change <inline style> : td but there's no option for the image.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    Leo

    Thanks John,
Yes, obviously I select the image.
    However, it doesn't change anything.
I don't get the "img" selector whatever choice I select it the Sources pane.

  • Adobe Acrobat. Change "Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, ..." also for highlights made before changing the setting

I am looking for a solution to apply the "Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, and Underline comment pop-ups" setting to highlights that I made before I changed this setting.
Someone wrote a batch for this which costs 60 dollar and this seems to do what I am looking for: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Retroactively Copy Highlighted Text into Comments
Where can I find Adobe's solution for this problem?  I do not want to buy external batches for a professional software suit.
I expect that this is a common problem for people who start to organize a large literature base with many pdfs and must keep track of highlighted text. I was not previously aware of the "Copy selected..."setting, but I need to change it now for all my pdf files to make them compatible with a reference manager that I want to use. New comments are now compatible, but the hundreds(!) of pdfs that I worked through before are not, so copy pasting the highlighted text into comments is not an option.

  • Setting a background image using CSS Designer

I am trying to set a background image for a page header using the CSS Designer. When I click the browse button the Select Image Source dialog box launches but any time I click on something the dialog box closes and no changes are made. Does anyone know what is causing this?

Which DW are you using and which platform/OS, please? I am unable to reproduce this with CC2014 on OS10.9.4

  • Can you "Cross out" a photo in Indesign CS5?

Hi all,  I'm working on a user manual and there is a photo in the manual that needs to be swapped/replaced with the correct photo. However, for now, I want to leave the wrong photo in and get to it later--but how do I marked it as WRONG? In other words, is it possibnle to put a red X over it or a way to "cross out" the photo so we know it's wrong and will be replaced later? OK, I can try to add a rectangle frame as a placeholder, is there a way to 'note it' so I remember what I need to do with that rectangle? How do you guys handle placeholders?
Any tips or methods would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why not just but a big X over it by drawing a text frame and typing an X?
I’m not really sure what the problem…or question…is.
Let's try to find as much ways to do it -- one of them might answer the question!
    2. Two separate crossing lines.
    3. A text frame with a one-cell table, with in that cell the option Diagonal lines set to Crossing lines.

  • Flash Builder 4 CSS Design Mode

    Hello,
I would like to know why CSS Design mode was removed from Flash Builder 4?
I am a Design/Developer so it was much easier for me to use CSS in Design mode.
What are my options? Is there any other tools for visual editing CSS for a Flex application?
    Thanks

Hi Fernando, sorry for the delayed response.  CSS Design Mode is not available for Flex 4 projects, but it is still available in Flex 3 projects.  The reason for this is that designing components in Flex 4 is often a lot different, since it relies highly on the new spark skinning architecture.  There is, however, an Appearance panel available in design view which supplies a set of the main inheriting styles. Setting these styles in the Appearance panel will result in assigning values to a global style selector.
    I hope this helps,
    Rob

  • Content is crossed out (strike through) in alert but not inside list

I can't find the pattern...why all of the content in a 'description' type text field is crossed out when the alert is sent.  It is not all items in a list that behave this way...just a few.  There is no strike through on the actual content
in the list field....just in the actual MS Outlook alert.
    ideas?

    Hi laughingtooomuch,
Normally, whenever we receive an Alert notification on something that has changed. The email will indicate exactly what has changed by crossing out the old value and
replacing it with the new value. It is by design.

  • CSS Designer problem

I am on the fifth tutorial.  It was going fine at first, but now when I try to edit the properties of a selector in the CSS Designer, every time I change a value it somehow exits the properties page (and the selector) so that I have to select main.css and then select the selector I was working on (#mainnav ul) again to be able to continue editing the properties.  This wasn't happening before, so I'm not sure what happened, if I inadvertently changed a setting or what.  Please help!  It will take me forever to do anything if I have to navigate my way back for each property I need to edit instead of being able to do it all at once.

I'm still not sure what the problem was, but quitting Dreamweaver and opening it again seemed to solve the problem.  I would be great to know what the cause was, though, just in case it happens again.  (Or so I don't make the same mistake again).  If anyone has an idea, your thoughts would be much appreciated

  • List Padding in CSS Designer

I'm trying to set up an unordered list as a navigation menu using CSS Designer. I've set the list-style-type to none, but when I try to use CSS Designer to set the padding for the UL to 0px, it works initially, but when I turn Live View off and then back on, the padding returns. I know how to make this work by typing in the CSS manually, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make it work using CSS Designer.

    Ah, I see what you're saying. I think that's proabably a bug.
If you turn on the little chain link in the center of the padding or margin, then type in a zero for one of the sides, it functions correctly (which is what I was doing). If you only type a zero without turning on the link first, it does nothing. As you've found, if you put something else in first, then go to zero it works correctly.
Here's the best place to report that bug...

  • Photoshop CS5 Printing problems on Canon MP620 - why is Quality & Media crossed out?

    Hi
I used to print from Photoshop CS3 on my Macbook Pro 10.5.8 Intel to my Canon MP620 with no problem. Now with CS5 when I press Print Setting the options for Quality & Media (where you select paper type etc.) and the menu options below it are all crossed out and I can't access them.  When I contacted Canon they told me that they do not support 3rd Party Software.
Anyone else had this probelm and know how to fix it?
    Thanks for your help!

It's great that there is a help page for this, and I did previously look for it. Probably didn't use the right keywords. However, after following the instructions for synchronizing color settings (setting "Best Workflow CS5" in Bridge as recommended by Deke), I found the printouts to be exactly the same as before. BTW, it was set by default to North America General Purpose 2 for the suite. I'll have to look into this more tomorrow.

  • CSS Design Guides

We recently purchased a CSS 11503 and I am tearing my hair out looking for baseline design guides. Right now, we're not even sure that it will do what we WANT it to do, in the way we want to do it.
Basically, the CSS is going to sit between a 6509 and a server farm. Two of the servers are IMAP, two are webmail. The CSS will be handling load balancing for the IMAPs, and load balancing for the webmail. However, the webmail servers ALSO need to talk to the IMAP, and need the persistent connections offerred via the CSS.
We're trying to figure if the webmail server, when it needs to connect to the IMAPs, can go OUT the CSS, and connect to the IMAPs via the VIP. It seems to me we would need NAT configured, and my problem is I can't seem to find how to do that. I guess it's the same issue as needing a server behind the CSS to get out to the Internet for updates/patches and what-not - how does a server INSIDE the CSS talk to the oustide world directly, when it needs to?
I hope that made some sort of sense. Another way to look at it is the webmail servers need to be servers AND clients, but we want them behind the CSS.
The root is this: are there any good design guides for CSS that discuss these issues? Thus far I have been unable to find any.
    Thank you!

I reviewed the basic config guide; I actually found the NAT info right after posting this!! Thanks for the replies; I appreciate it.
The NEW question is about the VLANing on the CSS. We're trying to figure out the best way to incorporate the management port (VLAN1, we hope) into our current VLAN architecture, which has a private network for management on VLAN1, which is trunked across the network for accessibility from multiple segments. The management port on the CSS doesn't support trunking - otherwise we'd treat it as any other box. Meanwhile, we want our VIPs in our server VLAN. We contemplated the VLAN "multi" option, but it doesn't look like we can implement it, given older version of IOS and the fact that we are already trunking.
We'll get there....I'm sure it isn't THAT hard to untangle. But it's frustrating that the separate management interface on this box doesn't support VLAN trunking.

  • No CSS Design View?

I'm a guy that usually likes to style apps using an external CSS and selecting a component to style, and having a way to add that component's properties/styles to edit.
Flash Builder 4 has done away with this, but to me it feels like it's going BACKWARDS.. but it's probably something I'm missing, so I'd appreciate the way people are using it...
So right now it seems like I can set styles ON a component, and then MOVE it to the existing CSS file I have, but I want to make sure that this doesn't leave ANYTHING within the code view that is styled? I tested it and it seemed to leave backgroundColor in the mxml declaration.
On top of that, there's no autocomplete for any CSS in the CSS view?
Just seems for CSS view you're somewhat stuck to doing it all by hand again...

What SDK version are you using?
Let me start with the easy questions.
    Autocomplete in CSS
Code hinting is supported in the CSS editor. If you're in a Flex 4 project, make sure you're using namespace qualified type selectors http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/CSS+Namespaces+Support. That's the typical problem people have during the transition.
    CSS Design View
There are a few reasons why CSS Design View isn't supported for Flex 4. Flex 4 skinning, in many cases, replaces CSS styles. For example, backgroundColor isn't supported for every component. For more information, see http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/More+Styles+for+Spark+Skins or the Flex 4 reference http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/index.html. CSS Design View is supported for SDK 3 projects, but not for SDK 4.
Can you explain in more detail what you mean about setting styles on a component and moving them to a CSS file? Sounds like you're using Design view to set styles in MXML then convert them to CSS declarations. This should be fine since Design view should only let you set valid style properties.

  • Help with CSS Designer?

I am having a lot of trouble with the left side of CSS Designer. Sorry to sound like such a kvetch!
To take a simple example - From the Welcome screen I create a fuid grid layout and name my style sheet mystyles.css. When the document window/program opens I am seeing boilerplate.css in bold and only two selectors down below - "html, button, input, select, textarea" and "html". Why only two since the boilerplate has a huge complement of selectors?
Next question (more important) - when I click on mystyles.css a list of 16 selectors pops up, although the only one I was expecting to see was the selector for "grid container"! Why does this happen? Why doesn't Dreamweaver let me create my own selectors as I build the site? I have read that mystyles.css should contain only those style rules which I have inserted into the head of my code. Is that not true?
In general I feel that Adobe relies too much on robotic tutorials without explaining the underlying architecture. When the beginning uses starts out on his/her own, it is easy to get confused.
    Please help!
    Kevin from Cambridge

Please let me know if you are willing to continue with this.
    That's why I'm here!
The CSS in each of those stylesheets provides the "boilerplate" layout for your fluid grid pages. Without that CSS, you would have no "fluid" and no "grid". That's why both of them contain pre-defined rules, many of which correspond to the ID's already assigned to the HTML (or the tag(s)) that is/are written on the page when it is first opened.
The contents of the @media pane are determined by the selections you made for the various widths and gutters in the New Page dialog that opened when you selected the Fluid Grid Layout option. You can adjust these as needed once they are written during this process.
So what are your further questions?

  • CSS Designer

Yesterday I downloaded the trial version of Dreamweaver CC and have been trying to use it. The CSS Designer panel will not allow me to add properties to any CSS element in my fluid design. When I contacted Support they informed me that they do not support the Trial version of the products. It seems like they are content to show me that the product does NOT work. They want me to buy it before I get support. Seems backwards to me. Anyway is there any way to get this CSS Designer panel to accept additional properties? Mine just stays grey'd out no matter what I do.

Which CSS Element are you choosing?
Can you post a screenshot of what you see.
Also please have a look at this article. http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/css-designer.html

  • CSS Designer suddenly inactive for .less

    Hi,
a short while ago (~15min.) I was editing a .less file with the CSS Designer. Now, suddenly, the CSS Designer is not accessible/usable anymore with .less. Still works with regular css files. With the .less, the CSS Designer sections still show, and they react when I browse through the .less code. Only I cannot select or change anything anymore in the CSS Designer. It's all greyed out.
Any idea how that happened or how to fix it?
    Thanks!
    Regards, Ralf.

For "suddenly stopped working" issues, I go straight for clearing the program cache/deleting the config folder...
