Crossfade playback doesn't work in nano

I've created a playlist with crossfade between each song. When I play it back on my laptop it works fine, but not on my nano.
Any ideas? Is there a setting I need to change?

does anyone know if apple plans to put the crossfade feature into ipods? this feature is sorely missed!

The Help viewer preferences may be corrupted.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.help.plist
com.apple.helpviewer.plist
Now try clicking Help from the menu bar.

Audio crossfade tool doesn't work?

Hi ,
Maybe its a well known bug but reading in the Apple pro training book by Martin Sitter , I noticed that the fade tool in the Arrange window doesn't work.
Or am I doing something wrong?
(B.t.w. This tool isn't discribed in the standard manual??)

Auto/Hide with Flv playback doesn't work with javascript lightbox, need help?

Hi everyone,
i created some swf loading a flv file in a flv playback and
check on the auto/hide parameter. When i test the movie it works
very well. BUT, in my website, i put those swf files in Lightbox
(javascript computed) and when the mouse goes Over the flash video,
it shows the Skin player and when the mouse goes Out, the Skin
player stays over the video!? Why? Does someone has an idea on how
to force the auto/hide paramater in this case?

Found this post when searching for an answer, but didn't find much elsewhere so I'll post my quick and ugly solution here. I'm sure it can be vastly improved, but I didn't have much more than 5 minutes. Note - setting .visible to false just ended up causing the autohide transition to occur over and over, so instead I'm just temporarily moving the whole sprite offscreen.
(AS3, using CS5 component... note that 'player' is the FLVPlayback instance):

Ipod cannot be disconnected / old Ipod charger doesn't work with nano 3G.

i have problems to disconnect my ipod nano 3gen. from itunes!
It says that it cannot dosconnect the ipod because there are programs which use files on it. So how can i disconnect it savely? Can i use the windows hardware disconnect "tool"?
+solved! it was my defragmentation tool...+
My second problem is that an old ipod charger only works with ipod 5gen and ipod nano 2gen. but not with my ipod nano 3gen. Is there anything wrong with it?
If so, which charger can i buy?

Looping playback doesn't work

The WaveBurner manual says you can loop playback in Waveburner by dragging in the time ruler to create a cycle area (page 32 of the PDF manual). This used to work for me but no longer does. Dragging in the time ruler does zilch.
Anyone else having this problem, or know a solution. Looping playback was very helpful for working with plug-in settings. I'm not sure when this functionality was lost. Possibly with the installation of 1.6.1?

Thanks for the solution! It's interesting to note that this only works in the TOP time ruler. The manual indicates it should work in either ruler (as I recall). And, you're right, the cursor does have to be close to the playhead.
Hopefully Apple will update the manual...or the program to be more intuitive. NOTE TO APPLE: It would be nice if there were an option (or default) to start the loop from the start position each time you hit the play button (rather than from where you left off in the loop). This was a feature requested in another string that I thought might be accommodated using the cycle loop (except I couldn't get it to work, hence my original posting). It would also be great to be able to set up two cycle areas and alternate between them by hitting option-play or some such command. I often import multiple mixes of a song and adjust plug-ins to compare the differences. Having two cycle areas I could alternate between would be really helpful in A/Bing the changes.

Cover flow doesn't work with Nano Firmware update 1.03

Is anybody facing this problem... the cover flow pictures don't show up now.. with firmware 1.03. Even if I re-ad the CD cover images to the songs... somehow or rather it doesn't show up with this firm ware...

Video seek doesn't work in detached playback window. Win 7 x64

Seeking video using the tracker doesn't work in a detached video playback window when running 64-bit Windows 7. It last worked in 9.0.1, it stopped working in 9.0.2, and it wasn't fixed in 9.0.3. I can replicate this on every Windows 7 64-bit machine. I constantly have to waste time looking for an old downgraded version of iTunes as a result of this. It's been 6 months now. How many more years do you geniuses need to fix this blatantly obvious regression defect in your product?

Update:
I've just discovered that this is apparently only a problem with Firefox. I can adjust volume in flash games and YouTube in Google Chrome just fine. Still not sure of any way to fix these issues with Firefox, but it still helps to know that.

My iPod Nano doesn't work as it should...

I have just got my new iPod Nano. It's the 2gb model from the second generation. I was extremely happy, because it looks awesome and I thought that it would work same way.
The player is working perfect. Plays songs, really awesome.
But I have really BIG problems with iTunes. As I said I have got iPod today and everything is new and up-to-date - iTunes and I even somehow managed to update my iPod. Why somehow? I have extremely big problems with updating it. I think that it works okay now, but not at all. Everything is okay when I use an automatic system. I copy music I want to library, conect iPod then and everything copies perfect. The problems are starting when I try to manage iPod on my own - copy music etc. This simply doesn't work! When I try to change the system on non-automatic the error (-50) occurres and iPod cannot be updated. I even can't do this simple thing so there are no talks about deleting or copying music to iPod.
What can I do? That's simply driving me crazy :/
PS. Sorry for my English, but I'm from Poland. I don't know if the apple service exists here at all...

And I have one more question, when I connect my iPod,
iTunes turns on automatically and the iPod is seen,
but it's not seen in "My Computer". Is that ok?
Since you have the iPod set at auto sync the ipod would not show in "My Computer" (someone correct me if I am wrong). If you were able to successfully switch it to manual it would show as it would be in disk mode. So I would say that this is ok.
I have done a search for the error -50 you keep getting and can't find anything. At this point I would suggest contacting Apple support to see if they can give you some insight on this error. One thing though...have you tried uninstalling iTunes from your computer completely and then re-installing it to make sure it's not an issue with your current copy of iTunes? Also, have you tried to go through the 5 R's?

If you have not gone through the 5 R's, please try that first and see if it helps. If not, then try un-installing and then re-installing iTunes. If that does not work, then it would probably be beneficial to call Apple Support.

I am trying to connect my new nano to my iTunes account. I keep getting msg "ipod detected but not identified properly. disconnect and reconnect. if problem persists uninstall/reinstall iTunes". I've uninstalled/ reinstalled iTunes 6 times but keep getting the same msg.
when installing iTunes I get a pop-up "iTunes helper error" check access. with options to abort, retry, ignore. retry doesn't work. ignore installs iTunes but it doesn't recognize my nano. abort shuts down the download.
how do I fix these problems??

IPod Nano Video-Out to TV (Via new Apple Component cable) DOESN"T WORK

It doesn't work on my nano. The sound plays fine, the video is distorted. It isn't the cable, since I have an iPod Touch that displays fine.
I've tinkered with the settings : Widescreen, NTSC, Fit to Screen, etc... none of it helps. Still shows a distorted image (like when a computer displays the wrong resolution on a screen, or the way a channel on Cable looks if you aren't subscribed to it).
Is my Nano defective? Am I going to have to rally up several other Nano users with similar issues, post it up on my blog?
Anyone can help me?
Also, my iPod Touch doesn't display photo transitions (cube, wipe, etc) only fades.... even though I've attempted switching the settings. Only works when the component cable is disconnected. Any help on this too?

Did you check the settings on the TV itself? Are you feeding the video through a A/V receiver?
Those may also be distorting your picture.
In my case, I'm going from my Nano>Yamaha A/V receiver>Mitsubishi 65" WS TV.
Once I set my receiver up, and set my TV to standard, I was getting a distortion-free picture (at least with the "Jack-Jack" short that I got free from iTunes). My setting in the Nano were WS & NTSC. Everything was cool (I was surprised on how good the picture looked, but then my Yamaha is great for upscaling).
I don't know if this helped, but if you list a little more about your config, I might be able to assit better.
