MacBook Pro and FCP 4.0

I got new MacBook Pro few days ago. I asked technician about possible working for FCP with Macbook. He said yes. I installed FCP 4.0 to MacBook pro and it does not work. Configuration error: missing AGP graphics card. What do I need? New FCP verison or what?

There's a hack for the AGP card problem, but the real issue is trying to run FCP 4 under Rosetta on an Intel chipped Mac - its sloooooow. You're best bet would be to take advantage of Apple's $199.00 upgrade/crossgrade offer and get the complete Final Cut Studio package.

FCP Universal Crossgrade - still waiting

I sent mine crossgrade form out 5 days ago, so I'm hoping they will come in soon. I tried to check the status of my crossgrade online but I don't appear to be in their systems yet.
Anyone have a number that I can reach a "person" to ask about the status? Opposed to the automated number on the form that has general information not concerning the Crossgrade.
It's not easy being left in the dark with my FCP cd's out there and my new MacBook Pro coming in next week. I need my disks!

Mine took awhile to be updated in their system and I sent the form and disc out via overnight service. I checked the tracking (shipment) information and saw that it had been received, but I was not on the website yet. It took about 3 days for my info to show up on the website, so you have to allow them sometime.
If you sent out your form and disc via standard service (5-7 days), add an additional 3 days for your info to post. Then another week after your status changes to shipped. It took about 2 weeks for me to get my discs from the day I sent the form to the day I received the package.

FCP Issue with Crossgrade

FCP will not open, nor will any of the other pro apps. The error is:

This error message prompted me to delete the "prokit" file & reinstall the crossgrade. I have tried it, but alas nothing. However, if you check "Run under Rosetta" it will work and I cannot tell if it is emulated, seems like it is. Can someone who has a working Final Cut Pro 5.1 (Universal) application check the following file and tell me if it says PowerPC or Universal?:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Prokit.framework/Version/a/Prokit (right click and get info on "Prokit")
The weird thing is, my file says PowerPC and if you delete it and reinstall it will put the same PowerPC "Prokit" file. So I downloaded Pacifist to explore the new universal DVD's I was just sent, and if you search for prokit, you will find it uder the ProAppRuntime.pkg file. Then I extract that file to get info on it, and it says PowerPC as well, huh? Anyway, if someone can tell me if they have "Prokit" as Universal then it would seem I need that version. But this doesn't make any sense.

Problem solved, although very unorthodox. I found a friend with an Intel iMac, but didn't have FCP. But he did have Aperture, figured it was worth a shot and searched his machine for the file in question "Prokit" and sure enough it was Universal not PowerPC. I copied the file, which was 1-2 mb, to my machine and voila' all the proapps now open and run very fast.
I'm not sure why this happened to my machine, nor why a reinstall of the UB FCS didn't work.

Backup orig FCStudio install disks before sending for crossgrade

I am currently running FCP5.0 and decided to do the crossgrade with Apple (mainly because I just purchased Shake 4.1 and found out from a posting on the list AFTER I purchased it that Shake 4.1 won't run with 5.0.4)
Taking the suggestion of other posters to backup the original DVD's before sending them in, I did so. Two of the install disks (Motion and DVDSP) were approx 7 GB each. Since my G5DP2.5 only burns DVD +/-R, I purchased a LaCie DVD+/-R Dual Layer burner and burned those disks to DVD-R Dual Layer Verbatim Disks.
They show up on my machine if they are in the LaCie DL burner. They are spit out if put directly in my G5DP2.5 machine.
I have 3 newer Mac machines that the system profiler says burns DVD+R DL . So I burn them as DVD+R Dual Layer and those show up fine in those 3 newer machines, but not in my G5DP2.5 None of the machines will accept the DVD-R DL disks.
My questions:
1. Why do the original install DVD's work in my G5DP2.5 as I assume they are some sort of Dual Layer DVD because those two disks are approx 7 GB each?
2. Does everyone else have Dual Layer +/- R capability in their machines and have no trouble copying their disks as backup?
3. Ever the optimist, if for some reason I want to go back to 5.0 (5.0.4 is where it should be, I know) and do a clean install on the G5DP2.5, I'm guessing it will work to just attach the LaCie Dual Layer burner so my machine can read the disks?
Any thoughts?

4 of the FC Studio 5 application installer Disks are dual layer.
DVD SP 4, Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro, LiveType Media 1, and Motion.

Umm, none of my cross-grade disks are dual-layer DVDs but that certainly does NOT mean that yours are not. That they are shipping this way is news to me. Learn something new every day around here if you're paying attention
Get Info will reveal the capacity of optical media, not necessarily the actual contents. You just need to be careful what figure you're looking at. And, the contents of installer DVDs are highly compressed archives. A 6G installer file might unstuff to much more than 10G.
Not all disk images can be used to run a complete installation, some require the physical disk for obvious copy protection that still includes serial numbers. I have no idea if Apple's are set up this way. The only way to find out is to create the images on your drive and try it.

Reinstall Final Cut 5.1 Crossgrade

I updated to Leopard and ran into a driver problem with my Sonnet eSata 4+4 card on my G5/2GHz. (computer froze up with a kernel panic about 2 minutes from booting) Anyway, in the process, I just blew the whole computer away knowing I have all my software discs. The problem came when trying to reload the Final Cut Studio 5.1 Cross-grade.
As it happens, the software, FCP Studio 1, I sent in was the last 'modern' full version I own. Now, the installer refuses to accept the serial number key!!! I am under the impression that the crossgrade was to have the original key. I am about to be very upset if this cannot be reinstalled! Any info on this would be appreciated!
Of course, I plan to pick up a new PowerMac and FCP Studio 2 LATER this year but this machine is decked out with AJA Kona, MOTU audio, Dual monitors, and an internal RAID cards, so I have quite an investment in this machine and would hate the prospect of it all going to waste short of spending another $1500 in software for a machine nearing the end of life cycle as an editor. I guess it will make one **** of a mail server...geeeeeez!

The cross-grade 5.1 install took the original serial number and is up again! Magic Bullet Editors and Knoll Light Factory went in better than the original time I attempted to install it as well! I guess the computer just needed to talk to the Apple servers to confirm the software status. ( I think I read that some years back)

Crossgrade Licencing Data Corrupt?

Hey, I just upgraded from Final Cut Pro HD to Final Cut Studio through the crossgrade program. After installing all the discs and installing the new updates it asks me to enter my serial number again but it says the Licencing Data is Corrupt. How do I deal with this?

It's really not to tough... It's done with an "Erase and Install"l of the OS performed by restarting from your OS disk. Then running a routine found in the optional installs button after the restart... and a series Isometimes) of software updates to get you to the last version of OS you have an install disk for. Then install all of the apps on top of that and run Softwrae Update again to get to the latest versions of them... Understand you have to backup everything you want to keep because this will erase the hard drive you do this to. Buying a new internal one might make some feel easier about doing this in case they forgot to backup something first.
Use Disk Utility found in your utilites folder inside your apps folder to "repair permissions on the startup disk after installing new software too. Especially printer drivers and other USB software.

Should I install the 5.1.2 crossgrade over my 5.0.4 version ?
WOuld this mean I have motion and motion 2 on my system or would it get replaced ?

I've just purchased a macbook pro and my older version of LE runs poorly. I've figured out i need this "crossgrade" thing, but whenever i click on "learn more", it takes me to the final cut pro page..?! Where can I find the crossgrade???

everyone's entitled to their opinion, and while i don't use express i've been using pro for 4+ years and i think it's great - lots of annoying bugs still but great.
Perhaps Live will be more up your street and i hope so - have no idea what kinda music you wanna make....
as for the windows issue...there are plenty of ways to make "screensets" work for you (i think you have this option in express right?)
and getting used to the what seem to be weird things about logic can actually improve your workflow, i think.
there are just so many ways to do things you want in logic which can make it seem chaotic.
If you do stay with Logic and you haven't already done so, i'd really suggest the macprovideo series of tutorials - should help you make sense of express.
If you decide to move to Live - well i hope they are pastures greener!

Gostaria de pedir uma ajuda. Estou em um projeto de implantação de SAP e no processo de testes de solicitação de cotação, encontrei um problema na momento de salvar o preço de mercado. O sistema acusa o seguinte erro: "Não foi possível determinar tipo de condição para o preço Nº mensagem 06657"
Examinando a situação, verifiquei que o processo atualiza o Registro Info com as informações de cotação, mas nesse passo, o sistema reclama que a condição WOBT não está cadastrada para o esquema de cálculo RM0002.
Verifiquei o esquema de cálculo, e confirmei que essa condição não estava cadastrada. Realizei o cadastro da condição no esquema, mas continuo encontrando o mesmo erro.
Durante as análises, verifiquei que essa condição é utilizada no esquema de determinação de Pedido de Compras, entre outras coisas e consequentemente estava cadastrado no esquema RM0000.
Por acaso alguém tem alguma idéia de como resolver esse problema? Procurei notas, posts em fóruns, porém sem sucesso.

Partner application access to portal login info

How can an SSO partner application (Java) tell whether or not a user has logged in to Portal?
I need to log activity in a public application servlet, so I'd like to log the user as PUBLIC if not logged in or as their actual userid.
I don't seem to have access to this info until the user has visited a secure part of the app.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

DIY answer ...
The cludge I used to get round this was ...
Make a PL/SQL item which displays a Login or Logout link as appropriate, based on the current userid from portal.wwctx_api.get_user.
The login link goes to a secure portal page called FORCE_LOGIN, passing a URL parameter called nextPageURL which contains the URL of the next page to show after the login is complete. You can use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( '_pageid', 'a'); to help build the current page URL if you want to retun to the current page.
The FOIRCE_LOGIN page contains a PL/SQL item which builds an IFRAME whos src is a URL to my app servlet ForceLoginServlet, passing on the nextPageURL parameter. Use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( 'nextPageURL', 'a'); to help with that.
The ForceLoginServlet is a secure servlet (set up in web.xml) so that forces a silent authentication to my app. All the servlet does is display HTML to redirect back to the URL in nextPageURL.
Horrible! But it does the job.
Anyone who know a better way of doing this, please tell me.

How to create a report to bring all data from two different Info providers

I have a peculier problem while creating a report. I have two custom info providers one DSO and another Cube. There are only two common fields between these two Info providers . I need to create a report such that the report displays all the values from DSO but user can have the selection option on one of the fields in the Cube.
Here is an example

I hope this was clear for you to understand. I would really appricate if any one can answers about how to resolve this problem. I cannot add the date filed to DSO and I also have Doc Num and Item as the user selection fields in the report.

Hi chinna,
Two possible options, I can think of now, but both of them may be a compromise with performance.
1. create an infoset and then a query on top of it, provided we have a one to one relation in both the targets. That is, the combination of doc and item number is not duplicate in either cube or ODS.
2. Create a master data object of doc and item number and have date as an attribute. Load that from cube data and make date as navigational attr.
Use this navgntal attr for selection in your report.

1.Loading fields of info-cube by referencing/using a master data table in End routine.
2.Loading fields of info-cube by referencing/using a DSO fields in End routine.

Before answering your question you need to understand something about "End routine" and "Expert routine".
End Routine:
- Result_fields and Result_package are available
- End routine contains only those fields available in Data target.
Start Routine:
- Source_fields and Source_package are available
- Start routine contains only those fields coming from source.
Expert Routine:
- Source_fields, Source_package, Result_fields and Result_package are available
So Now if you want write code to look up into some other cube, in look up you may need to test condition using source fields, in that case " Expert Routine" is only the option.
For Ex
my data target contains : x,y and z fields (it becomes result_field)
source contains : a field ( it becomes source_field)
now if i want to write look up code like this " select x,y and z fields from other cube where my a field value = other cube a field value. here u r accessing both S_F as well as R_F. So only the option is "EXPERT ROUTINE"
or else u want to write code only with R_F then "End routine " is enough.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.
