CRS core dump every day 3 times ????
RDBMS Version: 10.1.0.4
Operating System and Version: RedHat Linux RHEL ES 3.0
Error Number (if applicable): OCR api procr_open_key failed for key
Product (i.e. SQL*Loader, Import, etc.): RAC
I have RAC 10.1.0.4, Linux RHEL ES 3.0.
I notice that I have in $ORA_CRS_HOME/crs/init every day 3 core dump in same time (00:27, 08:28, 16:28), 50Mb files...
In $ORA_CRS_HOME/crs/log find:
2005-12-06 08:28:27.219: ALERT [CAAOCRLOOKUP:2803432368] OCR api procr_open_key failed for key CRS.CUR.ora!rac1!vip
OCR error code = 3 OCR error msg:
crsd.bin: caaocr.cpp:200: Assertion `0==1' failed.
And then, CRS start again messages output...
I check everything, and everything looks fine (TAF 10g, crs, css, logs,..), exept this error..
Any help??
There are quite a few bugs and without a stack from the core and more
information it would be virtually impossible to narrow down the issue.
You may also have to reproduce the problem with ORA_CRSDEBUG=1

As far as I can determine, the crashed thread involves processes that control the pulsing of UI buttons. Since there should be no such buttons in a running Keynote app, my guess is that some other app is set to run at a certain time, and is crashing, bringing down the system. -
Rdk 03032 Every day, multiple times a day
Been getting rdk 03032 errors every day for the past week multiple times a day. I've had to reboot the X1 box multiple times each time, sometimes reboot the cable modem. This is getting crazy. I had a tech come out and do the install of the X1 back in July and the signals were checked then so I don't think the signals were bad. Any advice as to what I need to do?

Signals change, weather changes, equipment breaks down... your best bet is to get a TECH back out to take a look at why you are losing connectivity so often... You can take a snapshot of your signal levels when the system is running poorly by going into System Diagnostics and finding your Upstream Power level, Downstream Power level and SNR... Post those levels here for others to see and comment on. -

...your problem is that you've the mid-2010 15" model with the faulty NVIDIA GPU. See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088. Although you may not be having the problems detailed in the article, your kernel panic points to the GPU as the real problem.
Take your machine, with a print-out of your kernel panic and a copy of the KB article, to your local Apple Store or AASP and have them replace the logic board. It's a known defect that shows up here at least 5 or 6 times a week.
Good luck,

I've tried turning the phone off and on several times; no luck there.
Also closed all other apps while attempting to solve this problem.I read the article thanks. I tried the settings-general-reset-reset network settings-reboot system-go to wifi settings-select wireless connection-select the ">"-symbol-select auto for http proxy. I was optimistic about that because I thought I changed some setting somehow to cause this problem, but it didn't work. More specifically, I did connect successfully and browsed the Internet for a good while, but then I put down the phone for a minute, the phone went into sleep/power save mode, and when I picked it back up a moment later it was no longer connected. Dang. Had to select the connection and use my password yet again.
Another valuable bit of info for you. The only network with which I have this problem is my home. I use all kinds of devices at home and no other devices have this problem. Also, I use this iPhone all over with various wifi networks at hotels and starbucks and family's homes with no issues whatsoever. It remembers and automatically reconnects with every wireless network except the one in my own house. -
Earthlink is my internet provider. Since the last update of Firefox, I cannot connect to my earthlink email or home pages.
https://webmail.earthlink.net/wam/index.jsp
I get a notice that "the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"
The only way I can get it to work is to delete all history...,.every time I want to go to earthlink! Including cookies I don't want to delete. Then I have to re-do all security logins to all sites everytime! This is a real PAIN! I am able to access earthlink via other browsers I have on my computer, the problem only exists in Firefox!
This is a real problem for me. I love Firefox, but this could cause me to stop using it! Please helpLowLuster is correct.
If Apple techs are talking about replacing the logic board, the costs of doing so is over half the cost of a newer IMac.
You maybe better off, if it is financially possible for you, to purchase a new or "newer" used or refurbished iMac. -

Subject: Can you help me with a problem I'm having with adobe 9.4?
I have seen this same problem a number of times in this forum; it seems to happen only on Vista and Windows 7.
It also seems to happen only to people who are not very experienced computer users, and these things are very difficult to diagnose via forum posts.
I have in the past always ended up recommending to uninstall Adobe Reader, and find an alternate PDF Reader.

Restart every day time capsule (DHCP)
My time capsule worked pefect until a few days ago. From now on I have to restart almost every day my "time Capsule". Because it lost the connection with my provider.
After the restart it works again perfectly for about 24:00 hr.
I thought it could be due to the IP. I have a DHCP connection. But the IP of the provider changes only every 06 months and on my capsule i still have the correct IP.
Aditional information I upgraded the firmware also a few day ago.

Java Core Dump Issue with jdk 1.4.1
I have an application which is run as a batch process. it handles data ranging from 100 thousand to 3 million. This process was running without any problem with jdk1.3 , but with 1.4.1 i am not able to finish this process , it generates core dump every time and the process stops. The process is asyncronus , it spons two threads to do the processing. Is there any way to handle this ?
JDK 1.4.1 is not supported anymore by Sun. See also http://java.sun.com/products/archive/
"... These products are down-revision products that may have various bugs, Y2000, and possibly security issues associated with them. Sun in no way recommends these products be used in a live, production environment ..."
Try the latest 1.4.2 release. Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html or even better, try 5.0 at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Sorry for posting on Linux thread. I could not find area related to this problem.
I have x86 box (256MB 10GB) running Solaris 8 and Oracle Enterprise 8.15. I have it all configured and running. Howerver, when I startup the database and the tns listner I get core dump every 4-5 hours and the box reboots. After examining the crash message I found out it was GPF. I am sure that Oracle is the cause of the problem, because I stoped the database and listener and machine does not crash anymore. I still have the core file if anyone in Oracle is interestedHi,
I didnt compile with -g option, but i got to the root of problem. In the program I was just doing cout , so it was very simple, but I was linking libpthread library with the program , also was giving -mt flag during compilation. When I removed this both, the program disn't dump core and nither did it hang.
But the same thing worked with solaris 2.8 64 bit CC 5.0 with patch 108528-10 .
So I just can make out the difference as to why this this is happening
Regards

Every day, my keyboard and track pad don't work, so I have to shut my computer off and start it back up. It does this multiple times a day. What can I do to make it stop doing this?
Try resetting your SMC and PRAM.

CRS Engine restarts every 2-3 days due to NOT_OK response from Watchdog
Hi,
we have 2 Cisco Unified IP IVR servers running version 7.0(1)SR03_Build011. Every 2-3 days, the CRS engine restarts at different times on both servers due to a Watchdog Thread received NOT_OK response from process CRS Engine.
These servers run independently of each other - (i.e not an HA pair) - but over the weekend, both servers had a CRS engine restart at the same time. I've looked at the MIVR and MCVD logs and they confirm this, but are so detailed, I can't actually still see what the cause is. There are a number of errors of different types, where the log seems to show a lot of 'exceptions', but it seems to lose connection to the Call Manager that causes the restart and it mentions buffer space.
We have a 3rd server which is not part of the solution that the other 2 servers provide, but it has the same OS, the same CRS application version and is connected to the same Call Manager; (version 6.1.3-200); but this server doesn't restart. It is on the same subnet as the other 2 servers.
The event log looks like this:-

If it happened to two servers at the same time then I'd be looking off box for problems.
- Check whether your CCMs were stable (use RTMT and check for events at the time)
- Run a 'show spanning-tree active detail | i VLAN|hange' or similar to check for STP topology changes on the VLAN the servers are in. Short outages caused by bad port configs in the VLAN can cause CCX/IPIVR to get upset briefly and fail over when communication between different processes on the same box fall over; it can be very sensitive. Maybe also do a show log on the switches to see whether any other significant events happened at the same time.

Mac Pro turns itself on every day at the same time
My Mac Pro suddenly decided to start turning itself on every day at 6:00:12pm local time (12:00:12AM GMT). It turns on at exactly 12 seconds after 6:00pm every day.
I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5 and installed the point update. It did it before the point update and continues to after the point update.
I have had it since April and it has never done this before. It did NOT do this under 10.4.
I have the options in system settings to NOT wake on LAN event and NOT restart after power failure. It is NOT set to automatically turn on but it is set to automatically turn itself off at 1:00am.
These settings have not changed since 10.4 and I have verified them. No other software has recently been installed since the update to 10.5. I did update the Wacom driver to the new Leopard driver. That is all. I have the Wacom tablet unplugged from the computer.
Any ideas?
Here is the console log from yesterday. It pretty much looks the same every day.

Nov 18 18:00:34 MacPro Parallels[129]: Initialization complete.Updates installed by Software Update are "delta" updates - they go from 10.x.y to 10.x.y+1, and are customized for a particular Mac model. It appears that in this case they also patch some files instead of replacing them fully. The "combo" update will update 10.x.anything to the latest 10.x.y, it'll update any Mac model, and in this case it appears they contain full files instead of patches. The delta updater for 10.5.1 is about 39 MB; the combo updater is about 110 MB. You can download the combo updater from the Support site. Sites such as www.macfixit.com often recommend installing the combo updater instead of, or after, the delta updater, as it often solves mysterious problems. One specific example is the numerous "SUID" messages when doing a "repair permissions" - the combo update gets rid of all but one, and that one is specifically stated by Apple to be okay. Of course, no guarantees, but the combo updater is a reasonable thing to try.

as many of you do, I use time capsule as airport, too...
It worked fine for 6 months or so after I bought the new time capsule. (I bought it in September 2012.)
Since the beginning of this year, I had to reset, and power off and plug it in almost every week, then now I need to reset and power off and back on again every day...
When I first set up the time capsule, I followed the instruction with the manual.
But, now I am so lost and don't want to reset every day for wifi connection.
Anyone has problem like me or knows how to solve this issue?
Please help..
I have MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.4 & my roommates have PCs. (just in case if it helps...)For PC it is important the wireless has names that are compatible.. short.. like 10 characters.. but 2-20 is fine. no spaces.. and pure alphanumeric.
Use WPA2 personal only.. with pure alphanumeric password .. again 10-20 characters should be fine.
The latest firmware is a dud. Go back to 7.6.1
Open the airport utility.. click on the TC and holding the option key click the actual version number..
Go back to 7.6.1 is simple.. just select it and away it will go.. ignore future requests for upgrade.. you can also tell the utility not to check weekly for updates. You will need 5.6 utility for this I think..
So do the firmware downgrade.
Then do a factory reset and follow the name information above.. for TC name as well btw.. wireless name/s and disk share name.. which by default is data and that is fine.
So some instructions in...
The Factory Reset.
Power down the TC.
Hold in reset. and keep holding it in. Be Gentle! It is a tiny surface mount switch with a plastic lever.. Attempting to push it out the other side of the TC will not make the switch turn on better.
(I fix TC and have several reset levers bent over and jammed or broken off).
Power on the TC.. remember with the reset held in.. this needs three arms.. a friend or power switch you can get to with your feet..
Keep holding in reset for about 10sec until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Release reset and wait .. the boot will be slow as it deletes previous setting.. only from router side and pulls out the factory defaults. No files are deleted on the hard disk.. but the name of the TC may change.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
2. Download and install unpkg.
http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.
You can also load airport utility into a pc and get access to all the settings. Untick the box for firmware updates.. it will still bug you occasionally.. regardless of the setting.. just ignore it..
You might still need to do the occasional reboot of the TC as well. -
Outlook and owa freezes every day, sometimes at the same time
Hello,
I have very strange problem! 2 users complain that the outlook hangs every day, approximately at the same time. But other 200 users work fine. I can't see any error on the mail servers ( two servers exchange 2010 sp 3 with dag) Outlook can hangs for 15 min
with user, who has mailbox 1,5 Gb and about 3-5 min with user, who has mailbox 150 Mb.
When outlook hangs, owa logon also hangs and then they start working simultaneously.
It doesn't depend on the server where I try to run owa. I tried to move mailbox to new database, but it didn't resolve my problem.
There are no any scheduled tasks on exchange servers at this time. No performans issues. Maybe some problems of connectivity with AD, but I don't see any suspicious event.Hi,
It sounds like mailbox curroption. I'd suggest you move those two mailboxes to another mailbox database, and then try againt to see if this works.
We may also try New-MailboxRepairRequest. For more information, please refer to:
