CRS Installation Success...So what's Next.

I have successfully installed CRS on Solaris 64-bit. So what next.
I have downloaded database software and when trying to install, OUI was refering to OraCrs10g_home1 for database installation, which is my CRS_HOME. Do i need to change the Name to ORA10g_Home1 manually ?
Thanks

  • 10g CRS installation doesnt pickup Private interface

    Hi All,
We upgraded a 10g CRS to 11g CRS few months back and due to multiple reasons we had to go back to 10g CRS.
Unfortunately, we dont have the 10g CRS filesystem and any of the backups since it was done few month back.
We cleaned up the 11g CRS on all nodes with below steps
Case 2: "root.sh" already ran, then follow the step below - please keep in mind that you will need wait till each step finishes successfully before move to next one:
Step 1: As root, run "/ora_grid/product/v11.2.0.2/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -verbose -deconfig -force" on all node, except the last one.
Step 2: As root, run "/ora_grid/product/v11.2.0.2/grid/crs/install/rootcrs.pl -verbose -deconfig -force -lastnode" on last node. This command will zero out OCR and VD disk also.
Step 3: As grid user, run "/ora_grid/product/v11.2.0.2/grid/deinstall/deinstall" on any node.
Rebooted the servers and started the installation.
During the "Sopecify Network INterface Usage" screen, it is displaying only the public interface name ( en0 ) and not the private. Can you please advise what could be the reason behind this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rakesh

10g CRS is rather old now. I assume you're talking about 10.2.0.1? I vaguely recollect problems like that with 10.2.0.1 CRS. There were many: problems with multhipath, problems with initializing disks on RH 5.x. One of the possible problems is if your public interface is in the private range (192.168.x.x). Are both interfaces plumbed? What is the output of /sbin/ifconfig -a?
Other than that, I recommend installing 10G database on top of 11.2.0.3 grid. It is supported, you can install 11.2.0.3 CRS and then install 10G database to use that CRS. Do you need just 10G database or does everything need to be 10g? 10.2.0.1 is an ancient version, there are many problems with RH 5.x. There is no need to use 10G CRS, 11G will support 10.2. databases without a problem.

I've installed three times with no luck. I downloaded the Creative Cloud Packager off the licensing site: https://licensing.adobe.com. I unpacked and choose my applications. The install seemed to be successful, but I don't so any of the applications anywhere.

    Hi,
Creating package doesn't mean it will install the product,
You will need to install the package now. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the below articles

Please let me know if it doesn't help.

    Many Thanks

    Hello there, G-Oker.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for the very error message you are receiving:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Particularly:
    Check USB connections
    Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

OS is installed clean, not contain previous oracle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Volker

    try this:
" If OracleCMService9i or the OracleService<SID> fails to start check that the interconnect is using a hub or switch of some type. In many cases, use of a crossover cable can lead to hangs because when there is loss of electrical connectivity to a NIC, it is sometimes disabled on systems running Windows NT/2000. This can also lead to an increase in time that it takes to initialize the card on a reboot. This depends on the HW platform, but in general, Oracle recommends always using a switch or hub for the interconnect, so that some type of connectivity is maintained with the Private NIC. Note: You may also be able to avoid this by disabling Media Sense in Registry, but a switch is preferred. See MS Article#Q239924 for details on disabling media sense.: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q239924 This applies to all Oracle versions."

  • CRS installation

My Cluster Ready Services 10.1 (CRS) installation ran into some problem.
Following are the pre-installation and installation steps which i followed.
    1. The system setup involved 2 identical nodes with Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 OS.
    2. 2 static Public IP's for the 2 nodes
    3. 2 private IP's which were created using network connections option and can be pinged.(1st Node Private IP 10.10.10.2 2nd Node Private IP 10.10.10.3)
    4. Entry of the private IP's can also be found in the host file.
    5. Both the nodes are connected to a external SCSI hard disk. The Skuzzy hard disk is not formated. Before installing CRS logical partitions where made on the Skuzzy hard disk for OCR,Voting disk and ASM.
    6. While installing CRS on one of the nodes in the Network Usage Page one interface was selected as Private and the other as public.
    7. The Do not format any logical drives was selected.
    8. Finally the Logical partitions made on the SCSI hard disk were assigned to the OCR and voting disk.
After that the installation went without any problems till it reached 98%.The installation was stuck on 98% for almost 30 minutes.Sensing problem i opened the installation log file and scrolled down to the last few entries which said that the files could not be written on the node as it is accessed by some other program. So i had to abort the installation.
Could anyone tell me if i have skipped some steps or need to add any step to make my CRS installation a success.
    Thanking you in Anticipation,
    Regards,
    Salil

You don't need an Adobe ID or password to install Flash Player, but you may need to provide your system's Administrator password during the installation.

  • MP Installation success or error status: 1603.

    Hi guys,
I try to install MP role on a new sccm 2012 server. Setup failed, I try:
     - Remove the MP as a site system role (if it is still installed), wait for it to finish
        - Remove IIS completely
        - Reboot the server
        - Stop the Task Scheduler Service
        - Rename the %windir%\Tasks folder to something else (or move it)
        - Start the Task Scheduler Service (this will recreate the %windir%\Tasks folder)
        - Reinstall IIS, BITS, WebDAV
        - Insure BITS and WebDAV are enabled
        - Reinstall the MP
    but still failed.

I read all of this, and did each step and mine still doesn't work. It still says "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application". What's next?

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

I have a MacBook with no more guarantee and with  Mac OSX 10.5.8. There some sites which do not accept this version . I tried to update with no success. What do I have to do?

    Hi, which sites Andrea?
    You might update...
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they do still have it:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
And it's been reported that if you have a MobileMe account Apple will send one free.
