CRS Migration to 10.2

Hi All,
I was wondering if there is any document for migrating CRS 10.1.2 to CRS 10.2.
I was following the ATG migration doc and it has mentioned that CRS has been rewritten for 10.2 and
"If an application is based on an earlier version of CRS, follow the migration steps described elsewhere in this guide"
Any kind suggestion for where I have to look, would be appreciated.
Regards,
Nitin

Hi,
You need to include the module named Store.KnowledgeBase in runassembler while building your EAR. Also, as Nitin specified Returns has also been introduced as part of ATG 10.2. You need to execute the SQL corresponding to Returns and KnowledgeBase in your Production Schema.
The best approach would be to take a dump of your Publishing Data that is getting used in current application. Then install ATG 10.2 freshly through CIM and then import the data in ATG 10.2.
FYI,
They have modified the path of certain Formhandlers in ATG 10.2. Also StoreRepository has been renamed to Location Repository and so on.
Thanks,
Tatai

  • CRS Migration: Repository functions Only

    Hello,
by the migration of a CR Server XI to CR2008 the Repository functions failed by the migration.
Is there any possibility to migrate only Functions without the other repository elements. Or is it possible to manipulate the BIAR File in order to select only Repository functions by the import and how ..?
    Thanx

There is plenty of tablespace space left.
I was able to do the migration by installing the migration repository in a 10.2.05 database and then migrating the access database into this same 11.1.0.7 database. Just couldn't get the repository created in this db.

  • CRS-0215 after migration from 9i RAC to 10gR2 RAC

I'm doing a dry-run migration on a test server to prepare for our migration and have had no problem migrating the data from OCFS to OCFS2, startup upgrade, etc. The only problem I have is I cannot bring the listener up via 'srvctl start nodeapps -n <node_name>'. I get CRS-0215, could not start resource, listener may already be running. It isn't. If I just do "lsnrctl start", then the listener comes up, I execute "srvctl start nodeapps -n <node_name>" and the VIP, ONS, and GSD all come up fine with the same listener error. From there I can bring both nodes up and the database is fine. How can I get the listener to come up via srvctl?
I've tried netca and pretty much get the same problem. If I try to add a listener and leave it as LISTENER it says that LISTENER already exists, use another name. I don't want to use another name, I want to use that listener :) What am I missing here. Thanks for any help. Even if I use another name, it still fails.

    Hi,
    4 - Patch clusterware
    5 - Create ASM instance
    6 - Patch ASM instance
    7 - Install DB software
    8 - Patch DB software
9 - Run dbca (create DB)
    10 - run "crs_stat -t" to check status
you can run cluvfy before or after every step.
11 - migrate old DB to RAC

  • CRS Historical reports - Migration

    Hello,
I have a customer with CRS 4.0(2) and has been recently upgraded to CRS 4.0(5) on a different server. Is it possible to dump the data regarding historical reports to the new server somehow?
I don't have the installation CDs of 4.0(2) it is not possible to reinstall 4.0(2), apply the restore and then perform the upgrade to 4.0(5) so another solution would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

If the database schema is same then you can migrates the HR data to the new server. Only data migration of HR data occurs during the upgrade process.

  • Need methodology for upgrading/migrating CRS Home from 11g to 12c RAC.

    Hi
Is there a detailed step-by-step guide on how to migrate from Windows 64bit RAC dual node cluster from 11g to 12C?
So far I've found lots of documentation related to Linux, not Windows.

  • Migrating from Crystal Reports Charts using TopN and "Other" to Reporting Services

I am currently migrating several Crystal Reports that have charts.  The chart series is set to use the TopN values in a count, and combine the rest of the series into one series titled "Other".  I see how to filter the chart using TopN, however I need to still show the rest of the data grouped as "Other".  I think the solution I need is to create a group expression that uses some sort of IIF function to create the "Other" group, but I haven't found a function that I can use to get the results I need.  Any ideas?
    Scott

We were looking at report deployment options and evaluating SSRS vs Crystal Report Server.  There were several reasons we decided to go with SSRS:
    Cascading Parameters
Ability to use multiple data sets in one report
SSRS seemed more user-friendly than CRS
There were a few other considerations I can remember now, but the final reason was price.  My company already had the licenses for SQL Server.  However, even if that was not a consideration I still would have gone with SSRS.
    Hope this info helps.

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

  • RAC, multiple OracleHomes & lost permission in crs registry

    Hi all,
I'm installing a RAC11 (11.0.7 on RHEL5) SE 2 node cluster, where I'l will migrate the current two node rac.
I've the necessity to install two different OracleHomes with different username/permission, so I have:
-crs home, owned by crs user
-ASM home owner by asm user
-dbhome_1 owned by oracle (which is part of dba, oper, asmdba groups)
-dbhome_2 owned by oracle1 (which is part of dba1, oper1, asmdba group)
Of course all of those users are part of oinstall.
The installation and creation of those oraclehomes and related db/services goes fine.
Doing an ocrdump I find that all of the resources of db_home1 are owned by oracle:dba and the resources of dbhome_2 are owned by oracle1:dba1
That's fine... till the first reboot of crs.
At this point I discover that all the permission on crs registry are oracle:dba. I mean all the resources previously owned by oracle1:dba1 are now owned by oracle:dba.
The start/stop of the res. are ok, but if only I need to add/remove a service I get an error:
PROC-5: User does not have permission to perform a cluster registry operation on this key. Authentication error [User does not have permission to perform this operation] [0]
I'm stuck... I've reinstalled all a second time but same result...
On metalink I haven't found anything like this.
Before open an sr@oracle have you ever had similar problem?

  • Connecting CRS-1 to CISCO7609-S

    Hello,
We are in the design phase for upgrading the exisiting POS connectivity between the P & PE router.
1- A new module will be installed in the CRS-1 (2-10GE-WL-FLEX)
2- A new module will be installed in the cisco7609-S (7600-ES20-2X10G)
    3- XFP-10GER-192IR+ will be used
i would like to know if the old configuration of the old POS interfaces will remain the same on the new interfaces (just we need to remove the pos framing sdh & pos scramble-atm commands) or there are additional configuration needed?
    BR

Ok, so we are migrating from POS to 10GE Ethernet. Definitely any POS/SONET/SDH related configuration won't be needed on the new ethernet link.
In general, as we change L1/L2 then all L1/L2 configs would be different. L3 and above would be the same.

We completed the following steps thus far to migrate single instance with ASM 11.2.0.3 on Oracle Linux to RAC:
    1. Install RAC CRS 11.2.0.3 in GRID_HOME
    2. Install RAC database 11.2.0.3 software in new ORACLE_HOME
    3. Added ASM diskgroups to two node ASM instances
    4. run rconfig from target RAC ORACLE_HOME
    It fails on:

  • Upgrading CRS RP to CRS PRP

    Hi everybody,
I've to upgrade a CRS-1/8 single chassis from RP (3.8.2) to PRP (4.1.2).
     I'm studying the following document:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/crs/software/crs_r4-0/migration/guide/prpmigration.pdf
I'm trying to deeply understand the "Method 3 - Routing Processor Swap Method" (this is the one I think I will use), but I've some dubts:
    1) Do I have to upgrade RP rommon (now is  1.53) before proceding with the RP<->PRP swapping? Do I have to do this upgrade even if I'm going to replace RP card?
    2) Does anybody has a clear and brief procedure for rommon upgrade?
I would welcome any suggestions about this migration and any answer about my questions.
    Thanks in advance.

Here is the notes from 10.0.3 migration kit.
"Note: There is no migration path from older versions of CRS to CRS 10.0. To use the 10.0 version, install
and configure a new instance of CRS using the instructions in the ATG Commerce Reference Store
    Installation and Configuration Guide."
    So you have two steps:
    1. Install CRS 10.X version
    2. Upgrade your custom module to 10.0 with migration kit provided, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25677_01/index.html
And regarding the LOE, it depends upon the customization that impact the upgrade.
The average time it takes is about 90 days for one resource. And testing is separate which takes almost about a month for 2 resources.
    Peace
    Shaik

  • Can we have separate 10gR2 RAC CRS and 11gR2 RAC CRS homes on  same Unix s

We'd like to test the upgrade of our 10gR2 RAC databases to 11gR2 RAC.
We have six databases on the same server and want to install a separate 11g RAC stack (11g CRS, 11g ASM, 11g RDBMS) and upgrade each 10g database from 10g RAC stack on same server (10g CRS, 10g ASM, 10g RDBMS) . Is it ok to have 10g CRS home and 11g CRS home same server? If not, how best to upgrade without buying more hardware?
    Thanks in advance,
    Lou

In more detail, the main issue/question is whether there can be 2 Oracle CRS homes on the same server i.e. separate 10gR2 and 11gR2 CRS homes residing on the same server for the purposes of (gradually) upgrading all Oracle RDBMS homes from 10g RAC to 11g RAC.
Can there be? What would be the implications for the OCR and voting disk? In our case 10g CRS has OCR and Voting Disk on raw devices. In 11gR2, these would need to be migrated/upgraded/stored in ASM, right?
We have 6 10g rdbms homes in addition to the one 10g CRS home and one 10g ASM home. To upgrade can we
    - Install 11gR2 CRS in a separate home (this would now include ASM as well)
    - Install 11gR2 RDBMS home
    - Upgrade one of the 6 10g databases while leaving the others untouched as 10g databases in the separate 10g CRS, 10g ASM stack?
    Any ideas, pointers greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lou

  • Migrating from Crystal Enterprise 8 to Crystal Reports Server 2008

    Hi,
In our current CE8 setup, we have a web server with the web connector, which connects to the Web Component Server (WCS) running in the CE8 application server. Our reports (rpt) are 'unmanaged' and they simply reside in a directory on the application server, together with csp pages (for handling parameter passing, configuring ActiveX viewer settings, etc). The link-to-folder path mapping is specified in the web connector settings. Users view the reports by pointing the browser to the csp pages.
Given the scenario, we would like to migrate to the new CRS2008 platform, while maintaining similar setup as above.  However, it is noted the web connector/WCS are no longer there in the new version. My questions are:
Can Viewer/RAS SDK be the replacement for achieving the setup?
What is the mechanism for web and application server communication?
Any enlightenment on the above will be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

CRS is limited to single server installs, it has less functionality such as no auditing. Enterprise can be clustered across many servers, has auditing and webi/deski from E6. So which one is best would depend on the size of your planned implementation and the features that you want.
