Crsytal report Scheduling Destination Options in Infoview

Hello,
I need some information on the CR scheduling Destination Options available:
The 9 options as per my understanding are:
1.      Default Enterprise Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the default Business Objects Enterprise location, which is the Output File Repository Server (FRS).
2.      Default Inbox: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the inboxes configured on the job server.
3.      Default File Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the unmanaged disk location configured for the job server.
4.      Default FTP Server: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the FTP server configured on the job server.
5.      Default Email Recipients: If you select this option the instance is emailed to the email recipients configured on the job server.
6.      Specific Inbox: If you select this option you can specify whose inboxes you want to save the instance to.
7.      Specific File Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the saved to the file location you specify here.
8.      Specific FTP Server: If you select this option, you can specify which FTP server you want to save the instance to.
9.      Specific Email Recipients: If you select this option, you can specify who you want to email the instance to.
In the above 9, I have problems with Specific File Location and Specific FTP Server. Can someone please let me know how I can configure my reports to use these two destination.

If the folder is on the local machine following setting should be configured in destination for Unmanaged Disk
Username:Localmachine hostname\username
password:password of the username.
Here the username would have "Full Control" or "Modify" rights over the drive where desired folder resides and that folder.
If the folder is on the remote machine following settings should be configured in the destination tab.
Username:DomainName\DomainUsername
Password:password of DomainUsername.
DomainUsername should also have "Modify" rights over the drive and the folder.
Is the desired folder present on the SAN drive?

Webi/Report : Schedule : Destination configuration

In the Report : Schedule : Destination of Webi, is it possible to disable the "Use the Job Server's defaults" check box in ?

Oh, I am not sure if you can simply change an config file to achieve this. We had to modify the JSP code behing the schedule page to make the tweaks. But I could be wrong and there might be an easier way to do it that I don't know of.
If at all you want to play around with the JSP code, I think you might want to look at the file -
desktoplaunch\InfoView\schedule\destination_include.jsp

Crystal report scheduling error

Hello,
We are getting this error Intermittently, "login error. [CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged]: [Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.]" when we schedule crystal report to file location. I had checked the user name and password and access to the file location, they are fine. We have scheduled this report to run daily, but somedays it throws the above error and somedays it runs fine. Any ideas please?

Error on open the Report Schedule Page from other application

Hi,
I want to open the only "Report Schedule Page" of the InfoView from my application. For this I am using the following url -
http://servername:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/InfoView/CrystalEnterprise_Report/schedule/get.do?objId=526
The problem I am facing is that sometime the Report Schedule Page open successfully and sometimes it gives the following error -
HTTP Status 400 - Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested
type Status report
message Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /InfoView/InfoView/logon/logon was requested).
Apache Tomcat/5.0.27
Please help me in resolving this issue?

Hi,
first of all it is neither supported nor recommended to embed or call single components or pages of InfoView in other applications. You would have to write your own schedule page using the BO SDK.
The problem you are facing looks like the component you are calling does not get or find a valid session to the BOE system in the desired place. But even if it would (sometimes you are seeing that) I doubt that it would work to schedule a report using this mechanism as the further requests when pressing the OK button will call other parts of InfoView then, which will probably cause other problems. So try to use another solution as stated above.

How to hide options from InfoView's "Schedule Report Page"?

Hi,
We are using Business Objects XI R2 InfoView (Java version) to schedule the reports.
Whle schedling the reports, schedule page displays the following option to the users -
1. When
2. Database Logon
3. Filters
4. Destination
5. Format
6. Print Settings
7. Server Group
8. Events
9. Parameters
And I need to display only three options (When, Format and Parameters) to the user and want to hide the rest of the options from the user.
Please let me know how to acheive this using the InfoView (Java version)?

Thanks for the reply.
I do not want the user to enter / change the database logon information and other setting of the report. As I set those info using the CMC.
And writing the our own pages using SDK will take lots of efforts and require java professionals for that.
I only need to hide those options please let me know how to hide them.

Missing schedule option on Infoview

Hi,
I've created a webi doc and when it shows up in infoview i don't have the option to schedule it. Within the same folder I have created another report with the option. All I see is modify and properties. I know I'm missing something simple. Can anybody point me in the right direction whether it is an answer or documentation? I'm very new to business objects. I've searched the forums and google with no luck.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'm using BO XI R2. I haven't done any customization as I've only been working on the product for 2 weeks so I'm very green to it. I'm taking over for another person. The strange thing is last week I was able to create a report that can be scheduled and this week I can. Both reports use the same universe.

Crystal Reports Server XI error in Infoview

We have an old Windows 2000 server that was running Crystal Reports Server XI (not R2) and we recently reinstalled it on a Windows 2003 server and imported all the reports. All scheduled reports work find however in Infoview if we click View Latest Instance I get the following error:
"An error has occurred: File or assembly name CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.Word, or one of its dependencies, was not found."
In the Application Event log on the server I get the following 3 errors at the same time.
"Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x80070005"
"Detection of product '{5A5C2A47-52AC-4715-9A6C-E4433B2DDDEF}', feature 'DotNETSDK' failed during request for component '{90C1F7A4-6DFD-4F1F-A5D2-923F04D9D77B}'"
"Detection of product '{5A5C2A47-52AC-4715-9A6C-E4433B2DDDEF}', feature 'DotNETSDK', component '{54EC1C27-1B41-4A53-8E89-8F8D13E78AB8}' failed. The resource '' does not exist."
it looks like a permissions issue. Has anyone seen this before?

Using vriables in To field when using "Schedule For" option

My Software:
Crystal Reprts Server XI R2
My Scenario:
I am using the "Schedule For" option when scheduling a report to a group of people. The email address i want to use is based on the their user name. That is
SI_USERID(AT)domain.com
So i tried setting the "To" field with the following
%SI_USERID%(AT)domain.com
this didn't seem to work. Am i using the right variable?
As a note, when i used %SI_EMAIL_ADDRESS% in the "To" field it worked BUT as i'm trying to avoid entering an email address into every user i would rather use something like %SI_USERID%(AT)domain.com

PS: Had to use (AT) instead of @ as the post was dissallowed for having email adresses in it.

Solution found:
%SI_OWNER% will return the user name. So
%SI_OWNER%(AT)domain.com will work
On a note the documentation on which variables are available seems scarce to me

IR reports scheduled in workspace doesnt send out emails.

Hello Everyone,
Please input your experinces or valuble suggestions for our issue.
We have several Interactive reports scheduled through the Hyperion Workspace and the scheduler sends out the generated reports to the users via emails in excel, PDF, web archive and MHTML.
Recently some users are complaining that they are not receving the reports though there emails are in the distribution list. My email is also attached to the distribution list and I receive the reports without any issue. I have checked the log and its shows that job went successfully without any errors and also displays that particluar user's emails too.
I also get a notification to my email everytime the job runs and it is successfull all the time.
We are unable to figure out why this is happening to only particluar users.
Any ideas? Anybody experienced the same issue? We are on version 11.1.2.1.

I have changed the order of the distribution list and waiting for a confirmation from the users but we are having a new issue.
One of the scheduled job is not sending out the emails to anyone. I tried to run the report manually and it runs perfectly. Right now we are exporting the file in the format 'Microsoft Office Web Archive.'
The scheduler was running perfectly untill 5/18 but didnt sendout after 5/18. I have ran report manually and exported as Web Archive and observed that the file size is 17MB. I have checked the previous outputs and all were under 11MB from the time since it was scheduled.
I suspect this is because of the file size. I have also did a trail run by changing the export option from Web Archive to Excel and it did send out the report and excel file size was 3MB.
Any ideas on this limitation? We are on version 11.1.2.1.

BOE report scheduling based on BW event

Hi Experts,
I am looking for a solution to schedule a BOE report (eg. crystal, WebI) based on a BW event (eg. data load is finished).
Systems: BOE XI 3.1 SP3, BW 7.01
The best option with minimum SDK enhancements so far is when BW routine creates a file in a specified folder and BOE Event Server picks up this file and raises a file event which is used as a trigger for a report schedule.
Has anyone come across other alternatives without external file manipulations?
Any insight into possible BOE BI 4.0 new features on BW-BOE cross platform scheduling and events handling?

BusinessObjects Enterprise also has an Event Server and the most simple event could be the "existence" of a file on a file server. and yes there is also an SDK for it. You can find more details as part of the BusinessObjects Enterprise documentation on help.sap.com

Report scheduling question

I have a couple of ARD users who would like to schedule reporting to their own machines.
Although they are ARD admins, they are not admins of their desktop Macs. All report scheduling options are greyed out for these users, even though 'Full access to all features' is selected in Preferences > Security.
Can only desktop admins (rather than ARD admins) change report scheduling?

Hi Sol
That is correct. The user and responsibility are only used during the session when the user is connected to the database.
Whenever a scheduled workbook is run in an APPS-mode environment the user running it will be APPS. This user is a database user and does not log in with a responsibility therefore the FND_GLOBAL.RESP_ID will not be set.

Server Side Trust and Webi Report Scheduling via Portal

Hello,
I have opened a similar thread about Server Side Trust and webintelligence reporting through the portal a few months ago.
At the time, we had some complaints about users that were getting SSO errors after 8 hours when scheduling WeBi Report through the SAP Portal.
Basically, the users connect to the Portal and then FROM the Portal, to a BOI view pointing to the Infoview.
Then, after investigatinon, it was my understanding that the WebI Reports should be scheduled through an Infoview token and not a portal token. In concrete terms Server Side Trust had to be implemented between the SAP BW Backend and the BOE 3.1 Server.
And after that the users who wanted to schedule WebI reports should connect to the Infoview directly (using their SAP BW credentials) to generate an Infoview Token.
Scheduling Webi reports from the Portal will not be solved by implementing Server Side Trust, since it is only a matter of time before the the Portal token expires ( 8 hour by default).
Now, I have configured the server side Trust between our BOE 3.1 SP2 and our BW 701 system, SNC configuration, PSE generation, exchange of certificats , etc ...
I did some scheduling tests connecting directly to the BO Infoview and it works.
But of course, now I am being told by the users that this solution is not acceptable.
The Portal being the entry point of our Infrastructure, they don't want to connect to the Infoview to schedule their reports.
So I opened a SAP customer call to try to have an official and clear statement from SAP but I never obtained it.
I had a look at my SAP BO courses but I am still confused
For example according to SAP BO100 , server side trust should be implemented when ;
"BOE client session authenticated using Single sign on using SAP token
(Enterprise Portal) and SAP reports are being scheduled at a future point in
time (after token expiry date)."
Anyone can help me to clear my mind ?

first of all lets separate the UI portion from the technical portion.
on the technical side:
yes for scheduling the Web Intelligence document you will need Server side trust
on the UI side:
- scheduling is part of InfoView
- scheduling is part of the KM integration with the portal
if that is not accepted from a UI point of view from the user you can create your own application to schedule documents using the SDK.

Report Scheduling Excel/PDF format Parameters field empty

Hi all,
i have a question on report scheduling.
I'm scheduled a report with prompt and will send out the report as Excel format through SMTP emailing.
When i look on the History of the report, it shows the instance, but for the field Parameters it appear empty. I tried to reschedule the report with Webi format and check on the Parameters field in the History, and the Parameters field for Webi format is showing the prompt value i set.

Seeing this in .Net 3.1 InfoView. I fired up JAVA InfoView and the parameters all show up. Another bug in 3.1.

One thing that you can try is installing a 'fresh' version of OS X Lion. Boot into your Recovery partition (holding down the command and R keys whilst booting) and elect to install OS X from the Recovery screen. You need not erase your hard drive and you should not lose any of your data.
Oh, and just as a precaution, I would use Disk Utility, once you're in Recovery mode, to verify your hard drive before trying to install the OS again.
